Great atmosphere, beer, setting, service and the burgers were really really impressive - loads of quality meat, super soft buns, moist and full of big taste. Five of us and everyone REALLY enjoyed their meals - top chef who knows how to create good honest tasty food at a value price. Recommended.

We keep coming back to this place every time we're in Nelson. The amazing craft beer and hospitality are unsurpassed. As long as these guys keep producing the goods, we'll keep coming back. Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed!

A perfect Saturday evening spent at The Workshop. The vibe was relaxed and completely different to the Friday night post work drinks atmosphere. The food was faultless and the service was exemplary. Every single server went the extra mile to give great service all evening with nothing being too much trouble. The ribs were a very generous portion, perfectly cooked and tender. The crispy chicken salad was every bit as delicious as I remembered. We would have gladly tried the sticky date pudding if we had room to accommodate it! We look forward to returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this great spot.

We visit this place more than anywhere else in Nelson - lovely people, great atmosphere and great beer and food. What more could you ask for :-)

Cosy and chill place with a good tap line and helpful and friendly staff. Reminds me of US west coast breweries/brew pubs. Occasional live music and the rumour has it that the pizza and burgers are great. Makes their own craft beer and has guest taps.

The Workshop is my go-to pub in Nelson. With fab food, superb live music, and top-notch craft beer brewed literally metres from where you sit (next to the roaring fire if you're lucky), The Workshop in Nelson is the full package. The staff are super friendly too, so you get that local pub feel as soon as you walk in, whether it's your first of fiftieth time.

Great food, great beers. At a brewery it would have be great if the staff were trained in the beers they brew and they sell rather than telling the customer they dont know anything about the beer, Steak fries are normal fries also. those two things would be my only criticism. Would still recommend going there if you're in town.

Enjoyed a beautiful craft beer called "Purple Haze" - just lovely. Our meal was delicious! Don't go past the Garlic, cheese flat bread! Would highly recommend a visit for a chilled, craft beer & good food!

We had our Xmas function at this great place. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff bent over backwards to make it a fun and enjoyable afternoon and the accolades from my colleagues continue 3 days after the event. It is a very cool venue and I highly recommend having your functions here. A huge thankyou to Jackie for all your help. We'll have to be back. Kathy Jones

Just discovered The Workshop last week and wandered in with friends for a drink. Terrific selection of beers. What started as a quiet drink ended with staying for pizza. Nice food and drinks in chic industrial setting. We will be back.

Great beers in a quirky and funky bar. Staff were great and really chatty.

A great place to catch up, great woodburner for the colder days, good selection of their local brews complemented by nice food. Can't go wrong.

This is an extremely popular place with the locals. Nice blazing fire, great beer and tasty food. The owners are lovely people as are all the staff. Worth a visit to kick back and unwind.

I love the relaxed atmosphere and decor. Food is great. Pizza's are awesome. Friendly staff. A great place to kick back, relax and have a natter.

Beer selection was great and the service was just as good. The blue cheese pizza wasnt anything to write home about though.

You know in Cheers where sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name? The nicest people own and work at the Workshop. I'm sure there are other good bars in town but I don't intend to find out. I like this one.

Stopped in as I’m traveling through NZ and I’m so glad I did! Really nice little spot, friendly staff, yummy beer, and ginormous burgers!

Friendly and welcoming staff. Entertainment which runs above the kitchen. Affordable food which was hearty and filling. Suitable for large groups of people.
