Stopped off for a bite to eat on a rainy day. It was good pub food. Tasty and warmed us up nicely. The service was off the scale good. There were two staff on and both were really freindly and attentive. Even though it was pretty busy. Made it a memorable visit.

We were looking for a place for dinner and Frederics offered pub food. I had beef schnitzel and my partner had grilled chicken. It was very tasty and filling. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff chatty and helpful. We enjoyed the visit.

The meats are cooked tender with a decent amount of juice but the sweet and spicy chicken burger only had 2 tiny pieces of chicken in it and the kiwi burger are only a little bit bigger than burgers from mcdonalds. Grease lovers this is for you( if u like to squeeze oil out of onion rings and fries. :) overall pick burgers and foods that doesn't require the usage of the frier and the service is decent. Btw quite a few mosquitos.

Awesome place! Went out with a friend for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat, they make a great martini 🍸❤️ we had the fish and prawn taco and fries which came with gravy and aioli, all so so good 🤤 Service was perfect, great staff!

Melon Cool #cocktail in Frederic's bar. The outdoor seating is ideal for hot summer weather. Not so simple: pub food was upgraded with chili sauce, a bit of marinated beetroot and microgreens. I love the calamari dish and the tender squid rings with chilly, spring onion and Aioli. A good place for liquid morning tea to flow into lunch lol. Good food great service.

Nice bar with ever changing guest beers. Had an excellent pint, dunno what it was. Lady serving (Sophie) was great. Clean toilets, seating inside and out. Nice place for a beer. Food menu looked amazing. Separate restaurant area.

Chilled out place just off the main street in the CBD. Staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. Beer selection is a little bit limited but not too bad. Prices are reasonable and if you're staying at the King and Queen hotel you can charge back to your room which is awesome.

$5 glasses of prosecco between 5-7pm can't be beaten. Burgers are really good & delicious hand cut chips, great service. Only improvement would be a better dessert menu. Other than that, I love this place. 5 stars.

Nice bar. We had a few pints, chicken wings and cheesy bacon fries. Everything was excellent and the staff is quite friendly. Would recommend booking, we were lucky (and early enough) to get a table.

Frederick's restaurant was fantastic, the food was far better than your average pub grub. The staff were amazing, my wife had a wine that she did not finished and was offered a full refund for it without any complaint. If you in the area make sure to drop in, the place is character full, and is a great place to wind down.

Great atmosphere and friendly attentive bar staff. Felt looked after and had a great meal from the bar menu. Good choice of drinks and comfortable seats in the side for a bite to eat. Favourite bar for professionals and office workers. Plenty of outdoor seating if the weather is good. Wall heaters keep you toasty indoors on the colder winter days. Popular little local.

Great food and fantastic service. It's always nice to have a server with a bit if personality, and the lovely woman that looked after me definitely had that. My food was fantastic and the bartender was lovely as well. I was staying at a local motel and there was a menu for Frederics there that was a bit contradictory to their actual menu. This is so the motels responsibility to ensure their info is up to date, but maybe be aware of the other businesses that are promoting you to ensure they're giving the right info? Would happily go back again. Very highly recommended.

Surprisingly good for a pub, had a great little burger with some well cooked hand cut chips. We also had some fried chicken pieces, these weren't as good as the burger but not bad, they were well seasoned and crispy outside, but as it was boneless it was a bit dry. The chicken seemed a bit over priced for the portion, some side salad or a few chips would help. The place itself is pretty cool, in an older building it has some character. They also serve decent craft beers.

Decor is lovely, but the food is basic. I wasn't impressed. Hubby had beef cheek, which was tender and flavourful. We were disappointed with the fries and cheeseburgers.

Overall the place has a good atmosphere to drink a beer. We had a Bürger and the tacos. Bürger was really good. Especially the self made bread was a nice surprise. The tacos on the other Hand were disappointingly small. It is more an appetizer Where we Kind of expected a meal. To be fair, it said Bar menue. However, as it was priced as the Burger was we were a bit disappointed. But Overall a good experience.

Lovely stuff. Beer reasonably priced and tap selections not bad- like most of the country a little heavy on the Monteith’s range. Food good and well presented, had chicken and waffles which was exactly that. Fried chicken on a waffle. A wee garnish wouldn’t go amiss...

Enjoyed our meal here. Was accommodating with our need to make changes to menu to suit us eating no sugar, grains or dairy. The Aged lamb with a broccoli side was beautiful. House Smoked Salmon salad was delicious. Staff were nice. We were at the back of restaurant upstairs, which was quite dark. Alot of families were in restaurant, they had a kids menu with pretty standard fare. My only complaint was that the restaurant shared toilets with the bar downstairs. This wouldn't have been so bad, however unfortunately the toilets were unisex and not nice to take our little girls too after the guys drinking downstairs had been in there.

Fantastic menu. Service was pleasant and helpful, but a bit under staffed once things got busy. It’s a good sign when an established restaurant is full though. The environment was a bit hot and had quite low lighting, to the degree that it was difficult for some in our group to see the menu.

Frederic's is your classic pub/bar everyone pleaser. We often come here for lunch and drinks with friends or when we're not sure what we feel like around town - you won't be disappointed at Frederics - ever! Their menu is classic pub - burgers, tacos, nachos, fish and chips, hand cut chips and loaded chips. Did I mention they have loaded chips? They have loaded chips. I can never decide what to have (usually reverting to a cheese burger or fresh fish taco) but it's always fresh and delicious. They have a good drinks selection (you can get pretty much anything) and an ever rotating craft beer tap too so you can always be guaranteed to be met with something tasty and cold from around NZ and locally too. The wine selection is well balanced and I know I'll get a good margarita or espresso martini if that's what I'm feeling. I like the atmosphere of Frederics, the bar staff are friendly and its relaxed and casual. They also have a loyalty system points app that you can scan with each purchase and you get drink discounts on drinks and vouchers for a certain spend. Best thing about this is that it also works up at Ms White, Snug, Itch and Meat & Liquor the Steakhouse upstairs from Freds. I've collected farrrrrr too many points already! Yum yum Fred's! I think I'll head down for a cheeseburger now!

Exactly what I needed after some boxing day shopping. Good range of drinks and food to enjoy either inside or outside under an umbrella. You can even order by ticking the boxes next to the menu item and hand it to staff. Too easy. Had the hand-cut fries with gravy and aioli and crumbed jalapenos... yum! They serve everything with a big bin of sauces to keep even the most fussy happy. They had Yakima Monster on tap so you really cant go wrong. On a beautiful day this place is perfect.

The family visited the restaurant before going to the light festival. The was a good range of food to choose from for everyone's different appetites and tastes. It was hard to choose! I ended up choosing a steak and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection and delicious although the sauce I chose they had run out of. The daughter was a bit disappointed at not begin able to remove the chili from her quesadilla, as they were all pre-made, but said it tasted good and wasn't too spicy for her. Every one else was happy with their choices - handmade ravioli and stuffed chicken breast.
