All the 🍺 are amazing!!! Complex flavors that pack a punch in a tiny package but you couldn't tell from how smooth a delicious they are.
I went here every day I was recently in Oamaru to do taster flights to sample all that Craftswork had to offer and then a larger glass of whatever else suited my fancy. Bought a bunch of bottles to take home and look forward to my next visit with the amazing owners/brewers.

Fantastic place owned and operated by fantastic people. Excellent well crafted beer and a lot of thought has been given to the ambience.
Oh and thank you so much for digging out one of the last bottles of Dieu Noir! It's very much appreciated and every sip will be savored (when the time comes to open it that is)...

Seriously the coolest little spot. It is very hidden and easy to miss!
The beers are very unique, don't try to find Pilsner here. Staff is very knowledgeble and friendly.
Fun little stop in Oamaru. The cheese is also worth the stop.

Amazing place. Strong beer. Not the craft hoppy kind, but more Belgium style.
All brewed by themselves. Matching cheese platter was amazing as well.
The people behind the bar gave amazing recommendations. Love the theme of the place and beers.
Will definitely go back if I’m ever back in Oumaru.

Breaking news. The Brewery and Tasting room reopens at 10 Harbour St (between The Collective and Whitestone city) on Friday 3 June 2022.
Oamaru's very own famous Belgian style craft (now, not-so-nano) brewers have a tasting room in Harbour St in the old Victorian quarter. The range, style of & ambience will have you thinking you are really in Belgium. Except the prices are NZ Dollars - so are maybe a little higher than the other so called craft beer places around. But their beer is authentic and hand crafted - and so much better than many so called "Belgian style ales" that you find these days are (note no Stella Artois is served here mate!).
They unashamedly do NOT make a beer for every taste, so don't ask for something they don't sell. Like any kind of IPA.
Every beer they make or hosts, oozes class, authenticity, attention to detail and true taste. Guest craft beers, ciders and wines are served. If you're a hardened wine only drinker some of these top notch ales might have you rethinking your notion of what "boring old beer is".
You can also buy bottles (or a dozen bottles in a carton - if you ask the bar staff or brewers really nicely) to take home with you.
Note: the current tasting room 1.0 is closed since July 2021 to make way for expansion into tasting room 2.0 - also in Harbour Street, shortly re opening (and now confirmed as) on 3 June 2022.
It will feature the same old wine (and whingers, including me) just in newer bottles and surroundings.
Maybe I'll see you there.
If you do visit, tell Michael or LeeAnn that Greg's review sent ya - they most definitely will have a clue.

Excellent craft beers and great "old pub" atmosphere. Served by a knowledgeable host, Michael was proud to explain his selection of 8 samplers and 4 cheeses he chose for us. All were excellent and with so many complex flavours. It was a great night. Craftworks is a must visit on any visit to Oamaru.

Fantastic inventive beer in an amazing setting. What a treat! They just moved across the way; love the new place even more.

Amazing Belgian style beers, the grisette and apricot saison were my favourite. Friendly and knowledgeable barman too!

The old place was great but the new bar is absolutely fantastic... The beer is stupendous, I only wish this bar was in Dunedin!

Such a cool little taproom with a great vibe. All the beers were unique and we loved trying a variety of tasters. A favourite for me was the red bonnet, a must try if you enjoy a sour beer!

Surprising tasting ! We didn't expected the taste in our mouth. Each beer is unique and have a specific flavour. The owner does his job with passion ! We loved the place. It gives you an unforgettable experience. If you pass through Oamaru, you must have a stop there. We highly recommend it !

Stumbled across this gem walking around Oamaru. Really feels like a little piece of Belgian beer pubs in NZ, really awesome taster paddle of their suggestions with some pretzels on the side. Lee-Ann was awesome to chat to about their basement brewing setup. Highly recommend, you can see, feel and taste the passion they have for what they’re creating.

Whilst strolling down the most beautiful historic street, a surpring experience unfolded. Not normally one to partake in Belgium style beers but seized by the moment, we dropped in for a quick sample. An hour and a bit more later after genuine conversations with the barman Herbert and the friendly locals, my interest in Belgium beers has been awakened. Amazing venue, amazing town.

Unique range of craft beers. Leeanne and Michael are enthusiasts and love talking about their beers. Tasters available, plus bottles. Also some fantastic artisan cheeses.

We just spent a nice moment in this little brewery. There is a warm atmosphere inside and the kind owners are great beer crafters. I lived in Belgium and I am a beer lover. During my Travel in Australia and New Zealand I really disapointed with beers. Today I am delighted I found some really tasty beers with strong character. So thèse are my favourite kiwi beers. Thank you Lee-Ann and Michael for this experience.

My wife arranged a trip for me to this brewery as they specialize in my favourite beer style (Saison). I discovered that they have many other great belgian beers in their tasting room. The brewery is set up like an old style European pub, making the most of the space available. It is comfortable, welcoming, and the owner serves a wonderful array of Belgian ales, Saisons, Grisettes, or Sour ales to name a few. If you have any idea about any of these beers then you should make sure you head in and try a few! Hell, even if you don't, then go in and get educated on a world of beer that is sorely under represented in the NZ beer scene. Oh, and you won't find any IPA's in this store

Absolutely amazing ale and cheese tasting experience! We left it to the experts and were not disappointed. This place is a must do if you are passing through.

Some of the best beer I've had anywhere. True old-world flavors. Their small-batch attention to detail sets their beers apart from other Euro-inspired breweries in the region.
The Saison Poire is a standout. Rich with a distinct "ye olde" pear cider flavor and imbued with the kind of wild farmhouse cultures that can only come from pure, rural air, it was one of the first beers I tasted in New Zealand, and is still unmatched. My girlfriend, who is not a beer drinker, still brings it up every time we talk about beer.

A hidden gem for ale lovers, taste of old Europe in Oamaru.

Highlight of our trip. Great beers, fantastic venue and hospitality. Get a tasting paddle and buy some bottles to take home. These are beers to treasure.
A.
Great location. Tasty beer but one triple ale gave a me cranking hangover. The next day I tried a quadruple ale, another hangover. Tasty beer for the masochistic. Grumpy service.
M.

This place is amazing. Cheese and beer, Belgium style. Wow. An experience you will remember!
H.
Probably the best brewery in NZ, if you're into Belgian-style beers. If you're not, you should be.
P.
The tasting was fun. However the hosts were a bit condescending especially a women behind the bar.
T.
A great variety Belgian style beers and barrel aged sours. True artisan small-batch brewers.

An absolute must if you’re visiting the South Island of New Zealand (or even the North) - truly resolute in their conduct and culture (no pun intended) and the beer is truly spectacular. Thank you!
T.
(Translated) It's great to be able to drink Belgian beer in New Zealand rather than the everlasting IPA with which we are stunned!
(Original)
C'est super de pouvoir boire de la bière façon Belge en Nouvelle-Zélande plutôt que les sempiternelles IPA avec lesquelles on nous assomme !
