Dined here a few times and today was the best service we’ve received. The two girls who served us were attentive, upbeat and friendly. We were there for lunch for my Mum’s birthday. Thanks for making it a special day. Food was great too!

This restaurant is great, has sitting outside or inside, cocktails + mocktails, the salmon plate I had buckwheat (which i dont really enjoy) and it didnt go that well with the salmon, it would go nice with some israeli couscous. However the sauce was good.

Had an early dinner with family members with children. The wait and bar staff were very friendly and happy. Nice atmosphere and good music playing. Meals were good except for the ribs, very chewy and slim also the caesar salad was very wet and a small portion for price.

Such a cool venue. Quiz nights are good old fashioned, friendly fun. Food adequate. Some issues with with receiving wrong orders (x2) and a chipped glass, but they were all sorted without fuss.

Went for dinner and some drinks. They had a good selection of Tap Beer, Beer, Wine, and cocktails. Started the night off with some yummy entrees. We got the Fried chicken, Jalapeño Poppers, and Hash Fries. Very scrumptious, the fried chicken was a good nibble size. Then we ordered our mains. The Prawn Pasta, Smokey Meat Pizza, and the Sirloin Steak. The Prawn Pasta was good, the whole prawn was good with in-house made pasta, was very flavourful. The Pizza was topped with Chicken, Pepperoni, and added lamb. The steak was cooked on the only coal grill in Tauranga, the steak was seared nicely. Definitely a must for the steak lovers. And for desert we had the brownie, which was so moist and soft. For a place that makes everything themselves, from pizza bases to pasta. It was a very delicious dinner. Worth the visit over to Papamoa Beach to go for dinner or lunch. They kid packs to keep the kids entertained while you listen to live music on a Friday, or bring the kids on Wednesday and they eat free.

This would be my favourite of The Goodhome locations in the country. The interiors are contemporary yet cosy, the live music great, good location right across from beach access, staff were wonderful and the food fantastic.

We had the sirloin steak and fish n chips. Beautiful meals. Well cooked. Instead of chips you get roasties with the fish and they were far better. Sirloin came with kumara fries, again great choice. Salad had a bit too much vinaigrette but still delicious. Nicest LLB I’ve had in ages and no straw which I appreciated. Attentive staff. Will definitely return.

Service was disappointing on our last trip. We've been here many times and was always good service, plus they have great vegan and gluten free options. But this time they charged us for an extra meal plus we had to ask twice for the extra drinks and dessert that were ordered but never arrived. Overcharged by $22.

We called in by chance as we were driving past and stopped in for a drink. Lovely experience, we were greeted by the Manager who was welcoming. The atmosphere and decor is very pleasant. Would be lovely to have a dinner here when next we go there. Had these amazing onion rings and Aioli yaaarrmm😋😋

Fabulous food, great staff and customer service. My husband had a fall, became unconscious. The Manager's and staff and patrons assisted us with such kindness. They organized the ambulance and helped me during this awful situation. I cannot send enough accolades, not just for their kindness but also the wonderful service ie meals and drinks.

At our table the fish and chips was the best pick. Salmon came with pearl barley salad.. I checked with the waitress about the salad, and she said yes its a proper salad..but not it wasn't....it was literally just pearl barley with a fried kale leaf.. a big stretch to call that a salad! Disappointing .however staff were friendly and efficient

I'm bordering on giving 4 stars as our service crew were fabulous! The place was pumping and they were really attentive. Food was (however) a have of two halves. Starters... brilliant. Every one a coconut. Mains were very average though. Don't have a beef with the pub and will likely return but more to see if they've steeled their game up! Great atmosphere as well. Keep going team! I'm only criticising in the hope you keep improving.

Place has a great vibe, love the different areas & how they're decorated. Very popular, very busy. Wasnt impressed with the service however. Stood waiting at the bar for about 15 mins waiting to be served. At least 3 waitresses looked at me, walked past me but didn't serve me. One was directly in front of me on the other side of the bar pouring a handle but still would not acknowledge me. Watched others come up after me & get served straight away. Dare I say it, i felt like i was the wrong skin colour?! My feelings were confirmed even more once my blond haired, blue eyed friend walked in, stood by me & was offered service immediately! Hmmm???? 😕. When we were seated we had 2 waitresses that tended to our table but one was particularly helpful & attentive. Its because of her, I've added an extra star. Food was ok, I had the seafood pizza, my friend had a different flavour. Not sure if it was worth what we paid? I would def go back again just to see if my first visit was a one off. Hopefully I won't get ignored next time

I moved to Tauranga few months back since then I have been one of the regulars and thought it’s time to review them for all the good times I have there. I literally enjoy there spicy pasta being Asian, and been to so many bar n restaurant in last few years but never found so friendly staff. Thanks guys for all you do for every one of us as a customer:):) Keep up the god work, see u next Saturday ;)

I give it an extra star for the decor and the customer service was good, however the food was pretty meh, not that we were expecting fine dining but I've had much better food in TGA at the same sort of price point.

Had my partner's work function here. Lovely spot & setting. Fresh decor & furnishing! Food was nice although quite pricey as were the drinks. Service was good at our table, however the wait time for the meals was lengthy. Was a nice change :-)

Manager came in and pulled 2 staff into the area where we were sitting and discussed their behavior. We were trying to watch the Prada cup race. We told her it was in appropriate and she carried on. We got up and left will not return. Following this I have since had a call from owner Ben which was fantastic service. It appears the manager had already finished her last shift and has now left. Looking forward to better service next time.

Fantastic venue, very friendly , helpful staff, reasonably quick service. How refreshing to be given a menu and asked if we would like a drink while we look at the menu. Very civil! This is a great place to meet for a drink, it has a neat layout but unfortunately the meals are rubbish, this is one of the worse meals I have had in Tauranga which is a shame as the staff are pleasant and as stated the surroundings are nice, go there but NOT for dinner.

Updated review : Love this place. Staff, decor and atmosphere are A+. Last review I was so so with the food but they have since changed their menu and it is 100 times better. The cheeseburger is a must for meat and dairy lovers. Feed for 1 is great value (chicken) and the ancient grain salad is awesome for vegans. Struggling to fault this place in the pub category.

I stopped into the Goodhome Gastropub to meet a friend for a drink and some nibbles one evening. I loved the decor inside and there were options to sit indoors or outdoors. We chose to sit inside as there was a great guy singing live with his guitar. The food, drinks and atmosphere were great. Definitely a place to try!

We have visited here quite a few times over the summer. We generally enjoy the experience. Nice interior furnishings and atmosphere. The young staff need a course in customer service though. A smile goes a long way. Chilli in everything from corn fritters to organic pork chop to seafood pizza. Why???? We will come again for drinks only and hopefully not be badgered to order more drinks the minute we put our empty glass down.

Have been here a few times now and there’s always something slightly off. The interior decor is stunning, and inviting. Even the bathrooms are beautiful. The bar staff are normally friendly and welcoming, however some of the wait staff not so much. The last time we went we were mid way in a staff change over, and the first girl was absolutely lovely, quick and efficient. However when the second girl came around we got no smile, no introduction and it looked like it was effort for her to serve us. The previous time they got our food order wrong, and the time before that their Jägermeister was warm (after I asked if it’s being kept cold). Will go again, think the staff just need some training.

This is a very friendly place. It is relaxed, together with a great environment. Staff are friendly, and not just "clinical" at their job, like so many other places are. They recognise the importance of the customer. I learnt today, they've introduced "happy hour", which they had not previously had.

My new local, even though I'm from Australia. We were staying at a locawith some friends when we found this little gem in walking distance. If you love a good bar/pub that has a great range of food and share plate options, a chilled outdoor beer garden atmosphere that carries to the inside seating and dinning area and staff that are professional, efficient and attentive to an enjoyable experience this place is a good pick. They even provided a takeaway box for our pizza. Thank you again for pleasant and enjoyable dinner experience. We will be back!

Didn’t realise until after we had ordered that dogs were allowed in the outdoor area - nothing against dogs but would not be happy to sit on the outdoor cushions where a dog had been sitting. Note to other customers- keep your dog on the ground! It was a nice sunny day so preferred outdoors. The Pasifika pizza had a nice bite - & the server advised takeout was available if too much (note: did not mention “doggy bag”), Himself had the fish & chips which came with a salad & declared delicious. His plate was clean - I needed a takeout box!! Being a nice easy walk from home, this place is a great eatery with good lunchtime service. Didn’t like the dog being in a dining area (or on the seating) - weren’t advised of it before we were seated & ordered. Will be more aware if we next visit.

As it was a long weekend we thought we would phone ahead to make a reservation. It took quite a few attempts to get through but had to leave a message. Someone did ph me back and we got a booking, and glad we did, as it was busy when we arrived around 6.30pm. Unfortunately, they couldn't find our booking when we arrived, but I think they wrote down the wrong name, and a lovely young lady took over and got us promptly seated. She then sorted our drinks orders and not long after took our meal orders. We didn't wait long for the drinks and didn't wait too long before the meals either. Unfortunately, the burger order came with regular fries despite having asked for kumara fries instead. We caught her attention, and we didn't even have to say anything. As soon as she saw the plate she realized what the issue was and apologized and took the plate away. She brought the food back shortly after, saying it was better to have the burger while still warm and we could have the fries NC and she would bring out the kumara fries shortly, so the problem was dealt with quickly and everyone was happy. Another in our party had the beef and guineas pie, which apparently was very tasty; the chicken burger apparently was also tasty, and the handcut kumara fries were well worth waiting for-scrumptious! I had the salmon and quinoa main dish (see photo)- perfect serving size and everything was delicious, although the quinoa was slightly too cool. Overall a very enjoyable dinner that we are still talking about the next morning, and many thanks to the lovely young lady who served us so well 😀
