Reviews of Pog Mahones Irish Pub & Restaurant
P.
Great place to sit and watch people walk by or just enjoy the atmosphere within the bar. Live musician was on while we were there. Food was really good. Had the Ribs, a baguette and bowl of chips. All the expected drinks in an Irish bar. Even better than Christchurch and actually had Guinness!
A.
We were in desperate need of a good spot to have lunch - so glad we decided to come back here! I had THE BEST Irish Stew, and ordered halloumi fries (also good) to share as I didn’t expect the portion to be this generous. My boyfriend ordered the Beef & Guinness Pie and loved it as well.
Lovely waiters working here and fair prices. Would recommend!
W.
Great place to have lunch. Our barman/waiter was awesome, young english bloke...great to chat with and a very nice person overall. The food was great too, took some photo's of what we had. My wife absolutely loved the prawn and chorizo dish! Just wish the hot-chocolate was better & in saying that, the young chap even ended up making me another one to try top the first one and that was great customer-service....so other than that, can't fault this place. Lovely to sit outdoors as you have a beautiful view of the waterfront. Will definitely be visiting this place again. A+
C.
Friendly staff. Good value meals. Sirloin steak not quite as tender as I had hoped, but admit I'm fussy! Hubby enjoyed his & half of mine! 😂 Nice atmosphere. No room to sit outside. A bit annoying to have all the outside smokers smoke blown inside through the open door! 🤭
L.
Incredible food, drinks and environment. I have never been to Ireland, but I think I did today. Guinness beer on tap, live Irish music... Just ticked all the boxes.
Also, the staff is amazing; all smiles and politeness.
We can't be happier about finding this place. We would definitely come back!
P.
Pog Mahones is a good Irish pub with great food. We were put upstairs which was a little quiet but right by the fire which made up for it. Steaks and ribs were good and service was friendly and fast. Would definitely go again.
G.
A proper Irish pub complemented fully by the Friday night musician who dug into not only the traditional Irish song and jigs, but deep Pogues cuts and other requests. And thus, this night was one to remember and will credit the bar for keeping the Guinness flowing and room for the patrons to dance along.
J.
Great place for a drink and meal. Went as a sober driver the other night and they looked after me with complimentary soft drinks during our time. Pure Irish hospitality.
M.
Really nice honest friendly Irish pub. Delicious bangers and mash, peas, with lashings of tasty gravy, washed back with a Sawmill Pilsner. Simple good quality generous pub grub. Wife had the Sirloin, red wine jus, chips and salad and a Roaring Meg chardy. Sirloin was very tender. Great atmosphere, good prices, definitely recommend this place. 4 stars from us.
R.
Great pub excellent drink & food also has a upstairs bar with a balcony overlooking the lake and live music every night
A.
So good, what a wonderful find in Queens town, just perfect for the wet winter night. Service good. Food amazing. Thank you so much.
C.
Great selection of beers. Super friendly staff. Great location. Having a beer at Pog Mahones is a must do if you are in Queenstown
S.
Great Irish bar style. Your meal can be cooked by you while you're having a good time with your friends. They serve the grill on a hot stone and you'll have to finish it in case you still want your dinner done. We ordered through book.me and everything was easy once we got there. Table reserved, manager really friendly and nice environment. Mixed grill comes with 5 different types of meat plus chips&salad or veggies&potatoes plus a source for only $35.
J.
The pie was awesome, and very big. My boyfriend really enjoyed the soda bread that came with it too.
T.
Great pub, either for a drink or full sit down meal. Upstairs and outdoor dining with fantastic views. Nightly live music (good performers). Wednesday night all you can eat ribs, truly is all you can eat. But it's getting very popular, so get your order in as early as ya can to not miss out. Great place, went back 3 times while in Queenstown.

VISIT: end of February 2020
We stopped by here after lunch and just wanted to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are only a few tables along Lake Wakatipu but it was a great spot to enjoy some post-lunch beverages. I ordered a hot chocolate with Bailey's and my husband got a beer. Inside was theme-appropriate decor with a friendly staff, but you cannot beat the views here! The food menu looked good, but we never got a chance to go back!
J.
My small family popped in for a drink and straightaway a beautiful young redhead Irish woman had my toddler a kids entertainment pack within a minute. Customer service was 10/10! Definitely will keep coming back. Very cozy and traditional:)
m.
Visiting from out of town. So glad we came here. Ribs were superb. Meat melted off the bone with a great sauce. My son had a Beef and Guineas pie which disappeared very quickly. Topped off with Apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. A great cider and a window overlooking the harbour. Great service. A great meal out!!
C.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Drinks were good
Food even better especially the leek and potato soup
D.
Food was great, but everything was undersalted in my opinion. I had the fish and chips. Batter was light and crispy. Fries were good. Tartar sauce was great, but all of them needed salt. Once I added a couple shakes of salt everything improved to just under perfect.
My boyfriend had the stone grill, which he loved. It was the special that night. We just happened to be eating early, but while we were sitting there, we overheard a waiter say they'd run out! So if you like the stone grill, get there early on Specials night!
T.
Definitely a good experience, the stone grill cooks in front of you at your table, I didn’t even click when I ordered the Monday special. Sauce a bit scarce but the meal was delicious. If you’re a cave man this place is for you. Fairly young demographic whilst we were here. Wine was nice, and the staff were excellent. Highly recommend! Note: i visited on a Monday night at 8pm so the price reduced on all stone grilled meats.
R.
Great food, steak cooked on stonegrill was the best, succulent and tender. Atmosphere was pure Irish with the fiddles , banjo and flute playing authentic music. Good night.
S.
The best bbq pork rib I ever had, the smokey sauce with meat falling of the bone was divine. Lamb stew was so heartwarming and yummy and tasting plate on hotstone grill, they were spot on. Juicy, tender, sweet and full of flavour.
P.
Very good meals , great views
L.
real great food good beer had a good time real nice
O.
Food and service were great
S.
Came on a quiet Monday evening during level 2 lock down. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the beers were served in proper sized pints. We ordered the stonegrill which came out in no time and was a lot of fun to cook myself. I would also highly recommend the chocolate fudge brownie ... Sooo good!
C.
Wonderful service and meals. Yummy. Great atmosphere
T.
With so many restaurants to choose from we made a great choice. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service and great Irish food....plus a roaring fire.
P.
Really good value bar meals. Great beers menu. Good craic. Marked down on table comfort.
g.
All food we ordered are fantastic.
Seafood chowder - very rich taste, come with an awesome toast
Sunday roaster - roasted lamb with another huge bread
Pesto Pasta
R.
Good oldschool Irish pub. Great staff and hearty food. Not a spot for cheap beers though. The stone grill is good fun and tasty as hell. The staff warned that it's not a lot of food which was a good call but suited me because I had a big night on the piss after and didn't want a meat comer.
D.
Top bar and great staff! Probably the best choice of quality beers and ciders in Queenstown. Highly recommend!
L.
Lovely homely pub , best Guinness in town , staff are friendly ,food is excellent never a complaint.
H.
Stone grill here was delicious. So good, so juicy. The sides tasted not too bad, and they were quite generous with the sides as well. Onion ring was great. The place was quite noisy, but it’s what you normally expected from a pub.
M.
Our go to favourite Irish pub. Great atmosphere and super friendly helpful staff cant wait to go back.
R.
Great food, not only what we ate but the table next to us looked amazing! There was good colouring books for kids too. Also great drinks, collection of irish drinks on tap as well as extensive local craft beers - the highlight was definitely the ‘trad’ irish songs that started around 8:30-9pm and got the place buzzing with atmosphere. Didnt want to leave!
S.
Great beer however fish and chips was very oily apart from that great outdoor area and customer service was great
S.
Great bar and food , irish music most nights with very helpful and good staff, and very welcoming ,I returned 2 months later on the end of my trip and the staff remembered me which was a really nice touch
T.
Great food..fantastic beef and guiness pie with mash..little bit more mash and some veggies would have made it ten out of ten.
G.
Good pub grub, got a great deal on the all you can eat ribs.
C.
Cute Irish Pub in the heart of Queenstown. Gravy fries were okay, full Irish Breakfast was decent but not the biggest. Friendly staff
G.
Enjoyed the all you can eat ribs. Nice location, very friendly staff
M.
Nice place.. Great atmosphere and live entertainment.... however the food and service was a let down. Not too sure whether it was just a busy night but it took over an hour from order to food being delivered to table... but food was average. Asked for a medium rare steak, a medium well was delivered.Might give it a miss next Queenstown visit
K.
Great Surf and Turf with a sizzling hot brick to cook at your table, very unique. Plus over looks the Lake upstairs is best views. Great beers
S.
Really enjoyed this pub, it seriously feels like I was in ireland, service and food were amazing, ps I'm a rib fan and absolutely loved the ribs
D.
Ladies and gentlemen, DJ Tim bullet would like to congratulate Pog Mahones Irish Pub & Restaurant for the absolute best seafood chowder that I have had in my life.... If you're in QT make sure you stop in at Pog Mahones Irish Pub & Restaurant and order the the chowder. You will thank me later for this tip!! P.S. and if you have time try to join their hundred pint club! And they have a 1k pint club for the seasoned drinkers 😀 cheers!
M.
The go to pub in Queenstown for great beer and food. Visited many times and always pleased with the service.
B.
Good atmosphere. Great service from the waiters and the food was excellent.
T.
Great Bangers & Mash. Returned for Lunch. Good selection of Bar Food and Meals.
A.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Staff are helpful and professional. Prices are good especially for a night out. They have a great variation of food including a stone grill.
R.
Great food. I had roast lamb and my wife has pork ribs. Both were excellent. The service was superb and with a Irish band playing the atmosphere was very authentic.
Highly recommend.
M.
Friendly staffs, got all you can eat pork ribs, flavoursome but not too sure about the coleslaw. The steaks was good, my kids loving it. Overall a good bar and restaurant
M.
Very good. Like most Irish bars everywhere. People seem to be enjoying themselves.
A.
Great cosy place to visit on winters evening. True Irish food amongst the menu items. Our waitress was delightful. Remembered everything we ordered!
G.
Great atmosphere, great service, good drinks and great food. Great views too.
M.
Some of the best Irish Music that I have heard outside of Ireland. I cannot wait to go back!
J.
Very good service and the staff are very friendly the food was very good, great environment and you got to relax as you ate great location In the middle of town , reasonable priced, but no wow factor. I did enjoy the view of the water sitting at the chairs in the front and watching the boats
P.
This entire bar was imported from Ireland. When we stopped by for a pint of Kilkenny's it was very busy and had a lovely buzz going on, in spite of the lack of visiting tourists due to Covid-19. We enjoyed it so much we decided to stop for a meal. The steak and Guinness pie is possibly the best in the universe! Warning: if you are going to try it, do not order starters.
Great customer service. Very friendly, cheerful and engaging. Even though we were just passing through we were made to feel part of the scene.
Will definitely visit again.
N.
Highly recommend, food is great and the service and staff is wonderful
V.
Friendly staff, cosy place and great meals!
A.
pretty nice food and you will have lake view
K.
Absolutely love this spot in Queenstown. Great range of live music, fantastic service, and generally just a really welcoming and friendly place to be. Grab yourself a spot on their sun trap of a balcony, and enjoy the best pint of Guinness I’ve come across in the South Island. Highly recommend!
A.
Sunday roast was tasty, Guinness is the best in town. Love the atmosphere and live trad music!!
P.
Loved the stone grill. Good prices and amazing flavors
J.
My family had a fantastic night. Service and food was brilliant. As it was a special birthday celebration they went the extra mile to decorate our seating area and took photos for us. Great place to go to. Food just delicious.
J.
Great food good service. Love the pub ambiance. We love the sauce/gravy. What's nice and great was we have our 5 year old boy and he was given great coloring materials to enjoy. I thought its very great idea to help kids not get bored or play up while waiting for their food.
R.
Loved the experience, great live music from an interesting performer, really good atmosphere and it was wheelchair accessible for my friend. I thought it was great value for money too; we got 2 good meals and 3 pints each for $100. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Queenstown.
F.
Cozy ambiance, I had an Irish coffee which was pretty good ☕🤤
T.
The good-looking Irish bar has everything you could want and more friendly wait staff and reasonable prices good place for my first Guinness out of my home country
T.
Awesome friendly staff. Meals excellent 😋 👌
T.
Is a good place. I'm pretty sure they spelt the name wrong though, had some Irish flatmates who thought so. Got some great board games and had a mean pint of Guinness. Pickle
T.
Dis place has Guinness and REAL live mountains. Outside of those games two things... it's smells like Phils Grandson in Kitchener Ontario.
NOTE: Mike McCauley likes the heaters upstairs on the balcony... come on up and buy him a drink.
L.
The food is really good, went 3 times and got different options, all amazing. Seafood chowder was one of the best I've ever had, Sunday roast super tasty too. The staff is very nice and attentive. Live music on Satudays and Sundays makes you feel in Ireland.
S.
These guys rock. Best Irish bar Ive been into for ages. Food was fantastic, service friendly and the food prompt and delicious. Will definitely come back next time we are down
R.
I love sit outside drink beer with my friends, good view, good place
L.
Had an amazing meal. Waiter was 100% accommodating. We wanted to sit on the balcony so he turned the heaters on for us. Couldn't complete my meal so they packed it up for me to take away. Thank you Pog Mahones. They gave me Soul food and it was delicious.
M.
Amazing beef and Guinness pie, so huge i couldn't finish it! Wish I'd had some friends with me as a bit lonely on my own. Lovely friendly staff.
R.
Good place for a quick and tasty bite to eat with helpful and friendly staff.
B.
Absolutely beautiful meal! One of the best rare steaks I've ever had! Such a lovely atmosphere and pleasent staff! Highly recommend
J.
Had an alright meal, luckily we had a voucher otherwise probably wouldn't have been worth the $20-30 mains.
Had to wait a while before any of the staff acknowledged we were there.
Standard pup grub and fairly priced drinks.
Y.
Great venue. Really good service, and nothing better in Queenstown than sitting outside by the lake watching the world go by.
H.
Classic Irish pub. Good food and fair prices
G.
What more do you need? A pint of Guinness (or two) with a beef pie. The food here is awesome. Great service too.
C.
The food are service here was absolutely amazing! We are planning another trip to Queenstown and this is at the top of our list to visit again
V.
A nice cosy little pub with reasonable prices and good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor is from a bygone era.
M.
best night, had a 40th b-day with 25 guests up stairs food was delicious and had a bar. perfect for this type of events.
J.
Awesome place great service atmosphere and staff very friendly food was amazing xx
T.
Nice pub good staff and nice food .
I.
I was lucky enough to enjoy an amazing night at Pog Mahone on Saturday 10th April whilst Jamie and his Band played (sadly for the last time before he flew back home) The environment and atmosphere was absolutely incredible and we had the most amazing time. Even when a small group of people tried to bother my group and I at our table. Callum (or Colm) from behind the Bar was very quick to respond and made sure everything was okay. He took care of this very professionally and I couldnt thank him and the Team from Saturday night enough for being such great Hosts! I highly recommend Pog Mahone if you are in or visiting Queenstown
L.
Start early, great options of beer. Confortable and warm fire place.
J.
Ribs were simply fantastic, best I've probably tried, I would highly recommend them. Service and environment were great as well.
G.
Omg what an amazing feed. Came across this place quite by accident and would definitely go again. Food was really good and plentiful,
great atmosphere and the staff were awesome. Thanks heaps
Z.
Had the mixed stone grill. Friend had the rump stoned grill.
Rump was a great value where as the mixed was food if you just wanted a bit of each protein!
Servers were awesome as always!
D.
Nice cozy place. The stew was very good.
K.
Had the most delicious meal. Amazing, friendly staff - great way to relax after a busy day exploring Queenstown. Added this to our must visit list when we bring the rest of our family back next year!
G.
The best Irish bar in town. Guiness etc is spot on and the food is good. What more can you ask for? ....Oh and a live Irish band 🙂
J.
Super friendly Irish service, great views if you are sitting outside or near the windows.
Loved the halloumi fries.
V.
Pog mahones has the best atmosphere of any pub I have ventured into..
Definitely recommend for group hang outs and not to mention the amazing staff that are friendly and sociable.
The vibes are great and recommend to anyone wanting to expierence a original Irish pub!
S.
Great old style pub,good service
A.
Delicious meals, cosy atmosphere, friendly service and the live music was fantastic, all by the fire. It was perfect!
M.
Stone mixed grill. Absolutely amazing. Everything seasoned so well. Peppercorn sauce was unreal too. Could not fault
J.
Great atmosphere, plenty of room and absolutely excellent food for everyone. Book and there’s great seats too. Absolutely nothing wrong with this place, top notch spot. Never bothered to write a review before but it’s too good a place not to.
K.
Really delicious tasting plate and very friendly service. Enjoy! ❤️
L.
Great staff, fun to talk too. Good solid tasting food.
R.
Awesome bar and food .and Guinness
S.
Wonderful Sunday roast. Staff where so friendly and let us sit upstairs as out side was fully packed Band was so much fun Great atmosphere Highly recommend 😀
D.
The Monday special for a $27 stone grill was great value. The chocolate brownie was also delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed.
S.
Great Irish Pub in a beautiful location. Food was tasty. If you look under 26 years of age bring your ID, just in case they care you. Highly recommended.
D.
Quite noisy - too be expected - but amazing food
All you can eat ribs was great, huge portions and left feeling full. Pricing is reasonable, but book ahead where possible.
Customer service was great. The phone didn't ring through despite multiple tries so Facebook messaged and that worked really well. Definitely recommend
C.
Great food, great ambiance, and cold Guinness. I've been many times, and I'm sure I'll go back many more. Highly recommended.
T.
Food was pretty good, standard pub type food and was relatively cheap. Decent selection of beer on tap. Let down by the average service, legitimately could have walked out without paying and they wouldn’t have noticed
c.
Good themed bar and reasonably priced drinks! We heard some live Irish music too from a resident band who were great.
Fantastic atmosphere and would go again.
K.
Great steak pie and fish and chips! The place is a classic Irish pub and can get a little rowdy but the seating upstairs is much more calm. The portions are huge and the prices very fair. Service is quick and efficient as well.
H.
Pogs is amazing. Great service, cold beer, a warm fire in the winter, beautiful lake view in the summer and GREAT food!! Best Irish pub I’ve been to in NZ by far. Love it so much.
B.
Best pub steak ever, took me a while to understand how to cook it tho😅
J.
Had very nice and very reasonably priced Sunday roast while sitting in the afternoon sun looking at the lake and listening to live music. I highly recommend the experience.
B.
It's quite relaxing to have beer and enjoy your lazy afvo.
A.
Great Irish themed pub, which knows how to pour a Guinness. Great steak but unfortunately they forgot to add the ribs. We did get them eventually and they were taken off the bill, so good service there. We'll be back again.
B.
Slow service. And sorry - rude impatient customers! We only had drink but the meals looked good. Will try this venue again soon.
W.
We spent a lovely evening at this quaint Irish Pub. I can vouch for the "all you can eat pork ribs" wow! Awesome! Staff were so friendly (thanks Callum). I will definitely be back when we are back down here.
C.
We kept coming back for the Guinness brewed Kilkenny and delicious food. Every dish we tried over 3 visits was excellent. Service was personal and attentive but not intrusive. Great place to just hang out.
J.
Perfect location for views of the lake, quay and people spotting while savouring your favourite drink outside, or sit inside and enjoy good pub decor and atmosphere. Good selection of Irish beers alongside the usual NZ choices. Friendly and helpful people. Will definitely return.
H.
Excellent location adjoining the harbour. You certainly get the Irish touch to the bar based on its design which is similar to home. Guinness and Kilkenny are very popular drinks. Note that Kilkenny is marked on enterance to the bar also. Staff (all female) are very good and efficient. Have to recommend this bar as a place to visit.
L.
Nice environment, good service and food.
K.
Great atmosphere, kids loved it as well.
B.
I haven't tried any of Pog Mahone's food, so I can't speak on it. But it's a great little pub close to the lake front with lovely outdoor seating and a generally friendly vibe. The drinks are cold and refreshing and poured well. I also saw their live music on St. Patrick's day, which was really fun. It reminded me of my time in Galway, Ireland! Would recommend.
T.
Staff are accomodating. The ambience of the place makes you want to stay more. It is good to have drinks with friends or just have a beer and steak on your own. You would definitely enjoy the selection of beer and food. They change the menu depending what time of the week it is.
C.
Warm and welcoming atmosphere in the old style Irish pub. With its dimmed light, wood finish and Irish charm it surely invites you to sit back and enjoy time spend with others over a pint of true Irish ale and great food.
The service was impeccable and it seems like most Irish folk will naturally gravitate to the Pog Mahones Irish Pub and Restaurant.
And for those who are GF (Gluten Free) you have options as well.
P.
I'd had a really long week away from home working and was sick of eating out. I walked in Pog Mahones and automatically realised I needed a Kilkenny. I had a beer and looked at the menu. Good food well made and very friendly staff who were a welcome site to weary traveller.
T.
Hightly recommended!
I really loved this place! Delicious food and cold drinks! Every day of the week, you have a special.
Went to POG on Wednesday night, where the special was "all the ribs you can eat" for a very good price! The first dish comes with accompaniment of fries and salad and then you can order as many ribs as you can eat!
Sensational!
W.
Nice, classic pub location near by the lake. The crew is very friendly and the food (beef & vanison) was very well prepared. Should be a stop-off for everyone of a Queenstown trip! 😉
J.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and best beers!
Must visit in Queenstown - try the hot stone and ribs!
Definitely going back again! Big thanks to Ajis and his team!
J.
Can't beat a typical Irish bar, this was is no exception, good music, friendly staff, good selection of beers and pub priced food.
O.
The Irish stew was pretty good, and we enjoyed the antipasto plate as well. However, this rock for cooking your own meat is just not a good idea. Everything sticks to it! At least give me some oil with the rock maybe? Also, not sure if lamb meat should be cooked this way to begin with, it was quite chewy.
P.
Ordered the smoked pork ribs and seafood chowder - delicious and well priced....especially in Queenstown
A lion red or Corona would have been nice but I guess you can't have everything
Seats could be improved downstairs to eat but overall it was a nice experience
D.
Had a good all day breakfast here and the staff are very friendly
M.
Good Irish pub on the water with outdoor seating and an upstairs patio w heaters.
D.
Friendly staff and lively place. I had the Sunday roast. It was okay, not great. The meat was a just a 1/4 inch slice of meat that was a little dry without the gravy. Not too bad, but not great. They also had Guinness which was a nice find.
J.
Pog Mahones is by far the most homely and and comfortable establishment I've eaten at. My partner who was numerous allergies was taken care of in a way I've never seen before and the upmost care was taken with the ordering of her food and the preparation. The staff, general decor and food and refreshments are all 10/10. I advise everyone to visit and try this place out
J.
Good food and great staff. This is about as close as you can get to a genuine UK pub outside the UK.
S.
Awesome atmosphere and even better meals. A great Irish pub!
T.
Lovely pub - excellent Guinness - and very affordable food! The best Irish pub in Queenstown, and extremely ‘Irish’ about it. Definitely come along for a great pint of the black and some good vibes.
A.
Average food but enjoyed our night in here and Dan the man was great entertainment. Staff friendly and we had a good time
E.
Great service. Food is delicious, drinks come in pints automatically. If you like sports and an open fire with your beer or live music they have you covered.
J.
Favourite pub in Queenstown, great live music multiple days in the week, the breakfast is the best I've had in QT after being here 6 months, the stone cooked steak is epic! Good selection of beer. Really homely and the only pub in Queenstown that makes me feel like I'm in an old local pub back home. Regarding the previous review IT'S A PUB! In most pubs you go to you will sit yourself and ask for a menu at the bar! What is wrong with people these days!? Lazy! I think it's great when we go there and get our drinks, sit down at a table chatting and then just as we are finishing the staff come over and ask us if we want another. That's VERY rare in pubs!
A.
We were nothing but pleasant for been attended by that lovely people. We certainly had a great dinner with an awesome some food. I'll totally come back many more times and have all that delightfully food and lots of fun in this warm and cozy place
A.
Nice place for hearty meals. Great service
G.
Solid Irish pub, good beer and wine selection to go along with the compulsory Guinness. Very friendly staff and plenty of cosy seating. Food also on offer. Marked down slightly because of price but I guess it's on a par with Queenstown prices
K.
Had a great night at Pog Mahones Irish pub in Queenstown last night. Food, beverages and entertainment was excellent. We stopped off for a quick meal, sat near where the singer was setting up and walked out 4 hours later!
G.
Pog Mahone is always a relaxing place, with a true Irish environment. Staff are always friendly. It's a visit I always make when in Q/town. Late afternoon outside facing the lake is sunny - assuming it's not raining!! Kilkenny is GREAT. Enjoy
N.
Good food, Guinness on tap! The true measure of an Irish pub. And the Bartender serving us was Irish too! Brilliant!
D.

Nice pub, outdoor seats have good views over the lake. Lots going on. Great staff. Good range of beers, liked the Guiness too. Menu looked good.
R.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Great place to hide while the wife undertakes retail therapy.
P.
Good place for a pint! Great location on the lake front. Upstairs has a deck that is a good place to watch the activities in Queenstown Bay. Quite often have live music in the evenings.
M.
Liked the food and the ambience. We did the stonegrill option, was good 👍🏼
A.
If you like Irish bars then you'll love this one. A beer garden out the back with a lake view, a restaurant upstairs and live music.
I had the Willie's big breakfast which was a great cure for my NYE hangover.
T.
Friendly staff food was great
V.
Very warm and welcoming service. Roaring cozy fire. Best chicken nibbles ever!

Google says it's open till 2.30am barmaid just told me last order is 12.30am but "Depends on who's working, but 12.30am tonight" Bad buzz, shame...
K.
It's a great place to have a drink and unwind.
G.
Beef and Guinness pie, washed down with Guinness. Doesn't get any better!
D.
Classic Irish pub in a great setting. Just be very careful if you go in a big group as the service can be fragile. The Friday steak feal is a must for carnivores.
N.
It's an Irish pub. What else to say

Locals bar, about as close to a real Irish pub as you'll find outside of Ireland. Live music, great atmosphere. One of the best.
J.
Really great hearty meals. A bit slow to come out but didn't bother me much - gave me more time to enjoy my drink and the atmosphere. Meal was huge - couldn't finish it!
S.
Great pubfood, although portions on the smaller side. Specials of the day very affordable. Good bear on tap. Friendly and attentive staff.
F.
The food is tasty. The menu has a wide selection. The ambience is cosy and warm, with a toasty fireplace. The staff are courteous and helpful. Reasonable prices.
O.
Quite a long wait for a small meal. It was tasty but there just wasn't enough. Two halves of a potato and a few slices of carrot just weren't sufficient ☹️

M.
Food was ok, had the Cesar salad which had a poached egg in it. However, it wasn’t actually the whole egg just a little blob of egg white, no yoke at all, it was disappointing.
