A great find for craft beer lovers. Has a hugeee section of craft beers and has great bar bites and foods. Had tried their popcorn chicken with fries. They were kind enough to put their chook sauce onto it. Absolutely amazing customer service. Very helpful staff. Had a great experience. Must try for craft beer lovers or anyone who would like to grab a beer with a quick bite.

Decent beer selection but I wasn't expecting a 40 minute wait for tacos in a sparsely populated restaurant. I did appreciate the offer a free beer while I waited though. Focus seemed to be more on chatting to locals than serving.

Great selection of craft beers, nice view of street outside. Burgers, chips and pretzel are great. Also tried the Philly Cheese steak, that one wasn’t fresh and should be removed from the menu (1/5) score for that dish.

This place has an amazing selection of the beer produced in New Zealand. I would definitely recommend the $30 paddle with six beers of your choice to get a decent sample. The service is great, as is the actual dining/drinking hall and the food is standard fare for a pub, but incredible. Servings are huge so no need for a starter unless you are super hungry.

Best place to take some beer in Queenstown. Lot of options and nice snack/sides to share while you are taking another beer! Take the flight to taste 6 options. Fries with pulled pork was great!

If you’re looking for craft beer in Queenstown, this is the place! There are 36 beers on tap, which change regularly. I recommend a tasting paddle to try a few and save you having to narrow down the options too far. The burgers are good too and thankfully don’t have the sweet brioche bun that many others do. Service is good and the soundtrack will bring back the rock/alternative songs you love.

Sliders parmigiana and margarita pizza with whats left of a side of fried pickles. Great service. Told us it would be slow and kept us updated. Food was also excellent. Beer also excellent.

Came by for a birthday dinner. The place was fairly spacious and we managed to get the area by the door. This is also the wall that they have the beers that they were pouring. There were quite a few options and I ended up trying the pablano beer. Interesting but probably not again. Also had the fish and chips and it was alright. The fish was nice and crispy but the fries were over salted. It is a nice spot in the day since you can see the Remarkables through the window. Easy to find with lots of signs saying its on the first floor.

I used to come here on my lunch break all the time for their pulled pork loaded fries (which are amazing by the way) but came and had a sit down meal for the first time the other day. Everything was brilliant! Bangers and Mash (venison sausage, pea purée, crispy onions and gravy) were a classic example of how to make a simple dish great and the halloumi and beetroot salad was phenomenal! Heaps of halloumi and the Cinnamon cashews finished it off perfectly. Plus with 32 tap beers on offer if you’re a beer drinker this is your heaven!

This is a great spot for beer!! Really excellent selection on tap. We had a good bit of food as well. I had the Smith burger, it topped my burger charts & just edged out my standard: "Jackson Hole burger in NYC", (1/2lb after cooking) so yeah, get the burger! We had the pretzel (very good) and bruschetta (good) the GF had a burger as well, she loved it. Friends had fish n chips- good and the Cuban chicken special- good. Friendly service and a nice view overlooking the main Street.

We went here twice during our stay in order to sample some local craft beer. The staff were nice but the food was pretty average, and after several pints we were hard pressed to find one we really liked. Maybe that is more of a commentary on the South Island craft beer scene than this establishment.

We have visited Smith's three time since we arrived in Queenstown. It is by far the best place for local and NZ beers. The food is pretty good too, the poutine was our favourite.

Staff were very friendly. Beer selection and $ was great. Music wasn’t too loud that we could hear each other speak. Food was tasty. I had the sliders which were great. And changing to vegan aioli was not a problem. Overall the vibe was casual relaxed enjoy a beer with mates. We went with our teenagers and they enjoyed the food and asked to return!!! Would recommend.

Great 20 tap selection, good looking food (didn't order but watched the chef whilst I sipped beer), decent prices and you can order flights of 6 beers. Highlight was a special release from Garage Project (Hop Trial #4) that was so fresh and tasty. Staff is pretty cool as well.

36 beers on tap is not something to take lightly ! The place is really nice and has a lot of space so you won't feel cramped. The staff is nice and welcoming, really nice atmosphere with the music just at the right volume for talking without shouting. Definitely would come again !

Loved Smiths, thanks to the reco from the lovely salesperson at Macpac. We had wings, the burger and the beef dip and all of it was excellent. Tbh, I thought the Smiths burger was far more delicious than its famous neighbour across the way and the fries were to die for - proper hand cut fresh, not made from frozen. The selection of beer was extensive with loads of craft options and they can make personalized suggestions. Really nice they let you try it out! Super chill spot with friendly staff, definitely worth checking out when in QT.

Great place to session some craft beers! Staff are cheerful and fun to chat to. 3 disticnt hangout places inside, whether your there for food and drinks, play pool or board games, or on the cozy warm patio people watching. All around great location and fun!

Excellent range of New Zealand beers, friendly staff, good food

perfect place for Families, Park rats and race crews if you're looking for steeps and off piste then might look at TC or Remarkables. Cardrona is closer to Wanaka but if you don't mind spending a bit more time in the car you can stay in Queenstown to. There are even hotels and apartments in the cardrona valley

Relaxed environment, good view, great variety of craft beers.

Stopped by twice during our visit to Queenstown. They have an eclectic beer list and we enjoyed each beer we tried. Nice views and a bit away from the heavily trafficked areas. We didn’t get to try the food but it looked amazing!! Would definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and some food!

This place is simply fantastic. It's well thought out layout, relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating, stunning bar, outdoor area, to die for American diner style good, incredible craft beer selection that changes daily, this is your DESTINATION for a good time in Queenstown after a hard day at the snow. We enjoyed this place so much on our trip we went 3 times ! Each time was special. The staff are truly outstanding and friendly and just the best service. Thanks to English Matt who gave us great advice on where to snowboard and what to eat on their menu. Super guy. Can't rate this place enough , and so surprised when hear people visit Queenstown and miss out on this place. Go! 😍

The selection of beer is actually really good for NZ but the service is quite poor. The bartender couldn’t recommend nothing based on my suggestions, just showed me the board with different, quite untypical names. When asked about those - didn’t really know much. When I asked to try 3 more beers he said “there is a limit on trying and I can give you just one more”. Not something you expect in a good craft beer bar with much that is new and unknown to a beer lover like me 🙂

Staff were awesome. Accomodating as soon as we came in the door. And not to mention the mad assortion of craft beers and ciders avaliable. Had a pepperoni pizza, fries & tofu tacos which did not dissappoint. 10/10

Cool place to come even if you're not a beer drinker as they have a number of lovely ciders and Ginger Bear (gorgeous Queenstown Ginger Beer). The pub itself wasn't very busy at all when we went and there was plenty of seating, so that was a bonus!

Perfect spot to meet a friend, a group or even head solo! You won’t go thirsty at Smith’s. Always have a selection of beers and ciders on tap and a great food menu too. The staff is excellent as well. Smith’s owner is actively involved in the local community and it shows! Smith’s is a must visit.

The best place to drink in Queenstown without fail. The beer selection, especially now they have doubled their taps, is the best on the region by a country mile. Chris and his team are outrageously friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The view from the deck of Queenstown hill and the top of the remarkables is great. Food is great quality American style BBQ/diner food, the pulled pork fried on particular are great!

There is a very good choice of ales, ciders and other drinks. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The food is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. To aid in choosing the ale or other to best suit your taste, testers are available. We found Smiths by accident and were very pleased we did.

Staff absolutely rock here. So know their stuff. Burger way better than Ferg burger can ever do. Plus 33 tap beers to choose from in a cool bar. Why would you want to go anywhere else?

Has the feel of a local pub in a huge touristy area. Excellent beer selection. Good pub food.

Nice staff! Beer is great! But just that.. the pretzel isn't the original taste forEuropeans I guess. It's fresh but the dip coming along with the pretzel tastes like today's soup(??). Will definitely coming back but hope food quality is better next time.

A great selection of craft beers on tap which is changed regularly. My last visit saw 3 stouts on tap - 2 milk spits and one brilliant oatmeal stout by Cassell brewery. Love going back to see what's new.

Great range of beer and good food, how could you go wrong?

Smiths is great place for craft beer in Queenstown. It always has a lot of variety of beers both on tap & in bottles, and a big blackboard with information about all the beers on tap, so it's easier to decide what you want. It's also got a great vibe & nice outdoors seating with an alright view. The food on the menu is also quite good - I've had a few of their starters and they're all delicious! We would always go here if we want a beer!

A Find! After a wonderful day at Milford Sound, we were tired and hungry but did not want to queue for burgers. We spotted some happy drinkers upstairs in Smiths windows, plus we noted they had craft beers, and went up. What a find! Friendly, attentive staff in a relaxed environment. I had the best pretzel, made fresh, since Washington DC. The menu had lots to choose from but we were after burgers. Our burgers and beers/ciders were excellent. My husband loves porters and he tried a local one which was so good he had to have another. My only negative comment was that the food did not come as quickly as we had wanted but it may have been that we were hungry or maybe it was my freshly baked pretzel. My husband and I would highly recommend Smiths.

We had a pretty good time here. Just stopped in for a while to put back a few drinks. It's on the second floor and the views are pretty sweet. Good selection of local brews and friendly staff. Queenstown itself was a bit tourisy even fr this NYer but Smiths was not overly crowded and would like to have a place like this near me.

Plenty of beers to choose from and great American/ Southern style food

Good place for craft beer and a warm place to drink. Food was a bit average. Got the fish and chips along with the pulled pork nachos. Fish was a bit dry and fishy. The nachos had 5-6 clumps of pulled pork and that was about it. Will come back for beers but will grab a bite to eat elsewhere.

Fantastic craft beer pub in central Queenstown. Upstairs and right the. You'll be hit by a bar with a fantastic selection of craft beer on tap, and plenty of bottles and cans. The staff are super friendly, menu looked good and there's a terrace and pool table.

Surprisingly disappointed by this place. Great selection of beers on tap - and recommended by Lonely Planet - but received surly service from the bartender who wasn't interested in talking about the beer at all. Could have been a bad one off of course.

Massive choice of craft ales all on tap. Stagg really helpful and gave you samples to taste before choosing. Food was ok, as with a lot of food places mainly a bar snack menu. But tasty and enjoyable

My new local craft beer bar (only 3 hours drive away) .. and possibly one of my favourites. Tucked away upstairs is a Queenstown gem for the crafty peeps. Great food (best po boys around) and always a good selection of beer.. we will return time and time again.

So happy I found this place. It's not that high on trip advisor but it should be. Excellent beer selection and the food is bloody good too. We had the pork belly and the short rib. Both were impecable. The staff were friendly and the venue is also nice. Definitely worth visiting.

Good beer selection! Great knowledgeable and personable staff. Prices are on par with the rest of Queenstown. You likely won't find a cheap drink in town but smiths provides a good value by delivering craft beer at comparable prices. For any folks that like high IBU, high ABV or big body IPA's I didn't find many on draft when I was there. It is a little hard to find the how to get up to it. There isn't great signage at the bottom of the stairs despite the bar itself being easily seen from the street. You go up the stairs to the right of the thrill zone.

Beer was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, but the food was really disappointing. The fried chicken came out only a couple of shades lighter than black, and were so burned they were nearly inedible. The haloumi in the haloumi and beetroot salad was so thin it was like it was grated, and the beetroot was from a tin. Great place for a beer, but skip the food

Good selection of local beers. Bartender was friendly and helpful. We stopped by around 2:30pm when it was pretty empty at the bar so we were served very quickly. Casual and unpretentious. They also have free wifi.

This is a bit of a quirky out the way place. It's not well signposted and up a stair. For those that do find it, you are in for a treat especially if you like craft beer - I think there was 50 available. The place itself is mix of wood and metal on a polished concrete floor and whilst it looks over the street below, it still feels kinda hidden.

Great craft beer selection and pretty good pub grub. Had the pork nachos and they were great. Street signs hard to understand as the SMITHS logo is really hard to interpret.

This is the place to come for craft beer in Queenstown. The selection of 20 on tap plus bottle selections is unparalleled. And it isn’t any of the Emerson’s or Mac’s or the like - real craft. The food was also a highlight. Had their special “burger” which is a pulled beef sandwich with slaw. Very tasty and you don’t have to wait an hour like at Ferdburger. Final touch is th knowledgeable staff and the great vibe (nice blues rock playing) and a great view too - plus an outside deck.

We did not get the pretzel, but we did smell the pretzel and it was very good, exceeding expectations. They say the first bite is with the nose and the pretzel smell delivered fully. It's likely we will return to Smith's in future and we may at that point in fact order the pretzel, so I don't want to commit anything too heavily at this moment, but to say that it had incredible nose-feel.

Yummy, nice atmosphere always a nice place to visit while in Queenstown

Brother lives in nz now and told us to check this place out and wasn't disappointment lush wings and beer. Staff were awesome, dead friendly n talked to you like a mate straight away. Got some canny flatcaps which are big enough for my huge head so grabbing one on the way out.

Impressive selection of beers by Queenstown standards, and one of two bars with a real variety of beers here. The limitations are more reflective of the NZ beer market, not so much the pub itself--it's a pretty conventional pub inside with two rooms, including a pool table.

If you are a fan of California IPAs, this is where you find them. It doesn't hurt that the jerk chicken po'boy was the best sandwich we've had in New Zealand. After two weeks of searching on our honeymoon throughout both islands, my husband and I finally found a place home to very good craft brews, and a knowledgeable staff about IBUs. If you are in Queenstown, you gotta check it out!

Delicious craft bar located upstairs in downtown Queenstown. They have a great selection as well as an outdoor area that is open until around 10 pm.

Unreal craft beer spot. As a Canadian they've got Poutine (legit curds), great beer, and cribbage. Food is also extremely delicious.

Excellent beer selection and the fries are to die for. Definitely swing by to at least grab a drink while you're in the area!

Popped in for quick lunch and their burger is to die for. It’s just another pub in Queenstown actually. I like their burger more than Fergburger, it’s fresher and the bun tastes much better. More expensive but worth it. Didn’t spend much time since we drove and our car was on a short term parking spot.
