T.Rocked up there on our e bikes , had a beer and ordered lunch. I had roast of the day and Gill had a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. A reasonable size meal that was cooked perfectly . You felt a great atmosphere when you walked in. Dog friendly must be on a leash and only in the Garden Bar. Staff were very pleasant and helpful . A staff member brought our little woof woof a bowl of water, with out asking for it . It's those little things that you remember and appreciate . I know Woof Woof does .
T.A group of us from Sumner had lunch at Quartz. The staff were really very welcoming. We had our orders taken very quickly. The menu was more than adequate and very well priced. $21 for two courses. One of our members had the seafood soup. It came in a huge bowl with two slices of toast and looked very appetizing. The roast of the day was beef which was very tender. There was a good selection of roast vegetables. I was particularly impressed at checkout. The restaurant had the best way of taking orders that I've seen. We just gave our names and immediately were told what our order was and the price. Highly recommended.

D.We whent for our evening meal a Wednesday night not busy, the food was average over cooked and the table next to us had this issue as well.
The Mrs commented that the food was average at the check out and an apology was given,

A.Went here today with a group of friends and found the service great ,the food was presented well and full of flavour,generous portion sizes so definitely value for money.Everyone enjoyed their meals and would be happy to return.My only gripe would be is that it was a bit noisy where we were dining but I guess that is to be expected when you are dining in a bar.UPDATE: In response to owner..We would of happily dined at the Quartz but unfortunately that wasn't open on a Sunday so maybe next time 😉

D.The Rock Rolleston is a great pub. It has an excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits. The bar meals are well priced... steak, eggs and chips for $25. The meals are well cooked and big. The night we were there was an awesome band Hot Mama playing. Marg and I spent two hours on the dance floor! The Rock has friendly, efficient staff, good meals and great entertainment.
L.Staff is friendly and willing to go the extra 2 miles. Good food and peaceful atmospheer.
I have already booked our next meeting there.

C.Love the place! Only problem..3 times in a row I've been turned away at 9.30-10pm on Fri/Sat as waitress said last drinks called, and the pub still had quite a few people inside. Maybe update the hours on google & fb, just a bit misleading and fustrating. Other than that great food and even better drink deals 😊

R.Staff are friendly, the bar is great and there is a nice atmosphere, food presentation was good however the meat in the burger was fairly oily, and the chips tasted as though they where cooked from frozen. Over all an average experience 👍

S.Fantastic pineapple lump cheesecake! Great waitress behind the bar. But a long wait time for food considering the pub wasn’t busy. Main food was sub-par. Otherwise, a typical country pub.
Edit: for clarification, we were there for lunch and therefore the restaurant was closed and this was not the cause for a long wait time.
j.Great food as always staff service good but disappointed as travelled with friends from North New Brighton to dine n drink and get the discount from the entertainment card as always but told today we couldn't use it. A bit guttered so won't be traveling that far again as we have done regularly.

H.We have taken guests to The Rock several times for a meal, and have never had reason to complain. Our most recent visit on Saturday evening with friends from Australia. We didn't book till the morning of our visit, and were told they had a couple of medium to large groups at the time we also wanted. After discussion we took our chances and went ahead with our first choice. Our orders were taken within 15 minutes of our guests arrival, and the meals arrived about 20 to 25 minutes later. I cannot fault the service, the cleanliness of the place or the meals.....except to say mine was a little larger than I could eat. This is now our tried and tested favorite place. For four of us, under $150.00 for mains and our drinks (2 each) we opted out of dessert. Very reasonable! Will be back soon.

L.Me and my family had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant one Friday and I couldn't fault it. The waitresses looked like they really love their jobs and had such great chemistry as we watched them. Our waitress Maddy was so lovely and bubbly and recommended the eye fillet from the rock grill to me which I loved! My new favourite steak! She was well presented as were the others and my daughter loved her makeup. She paid special attention to my daughter who was celebrating her 7th birthday and gave her one to remember. Thanks for a awesome time we will surely be back.

M.Really good atmosphere and excellent meal
C.This is by far my favourite place to come for casual dining. The atmosphere is friendly with well looked after, clean facilities, the food is better than your standard pub fare at reasonable prices. Every meal I've had is cooked to a high standard and delicious. My personal favorite so far is the duck spring rolls. But it's the staff I keep coming back for. They treat every customer like a local, they extend more than just helpfulness, with a welcoming attitude and an eagerness to please. A special mention to Terry, who makes our time at the Rock, just that extra bit better, with his tireless work ethic, high standard of customer sevice and his cheekiness!
I've already recommended The Rock to friends and family, and those who have dined there have not been disappointed.
