Such a cool place with awesome good size meals and super friendly stuff that care about you. Highly recommend We love the big size pizza

Highly recommended - Great atmosphere, fantastic friendly staff and superb meals. The Shared Boards (KaiMoana & The Goats Tribe, 2 - 4 people) are quite large and well worth the money spent. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and loved the atmosphere, will definitely make a return trip. Thank You 😊

Ordered two things from the menu which costs 29 nzd. I can’t finish everything all by myself! 😄 Food had great taste and staff are cool!

Really enjoyed our evening here. Staff were attentive and lovely, food was excellent and good value. The platter boards are great but from past experience it's too much food for two. Tonight we shared four sharing plates instead. Left feeling very full and every plate was delicious and fresh. Highly recommended spot. Busy for a week night so best to book a table if you don't want to miss out

We had to book two days in advance and with good reason; the food is amazing. We shared two starters -the wings and the sliders - and had a footling ‘Blow your mind’ pizza. I can safely say the food was better than anything I’ve had so far in Auckland, and all of the dishes were delicious. No disappointment at all. I would drive through Rotorua just to eat here.

The huge platters (boards really) would work well if you're into that stuff. The staff were very friendly. Food took quite a while when we visited, but if you're enjoying the company and the environment, I guess that doesn't matter that much. Overall the food was fine. Not stunning, but fair value.

Love going to the fainting goat whenever I have family or friends visiting town. The platter is definitely the highlight. The chicken wings are my absolute favourite and highly recommend!! They are usually always fully booked out on weekend nights so would recommend booking in advance. The cocktails can be a bit hit and miss though.

Great sized feed and reasonably priced too. Also very nice platter The only complaint in this hot summer weather is a lack of cooling.

I love tapas, enjoying your food with people you love. We had a girls night with a bunch of different dishes. Super fun way to eat. The food was delicious, service amazing and the bubbles cold! Great night

Great atmosphere, yummy food that is a notch above your usual gastropub fare so its a 5 star from me, was really busy which is always a good sign. Staff attentive and helpful. Interesting cocktails too, very much enjoyed and a really good drinks menu overall.

Really cool atmosphere as soon as I saw this place I wanted to go in! It looks pretty cool. So I would rate ambience 5/5 Just to see how good they are with their cocktail game I asked for baby come back drink which I thought would be amazing but alas it was not up to the hype that this place build up for me.. I couldn’t find any raspberry flavour in the cocktail it was more boozy without any other flavours really working with the drink.. 2/5 I feel like there platter game is on point and majority of people come here for the platters.. I looked at one of the platters and it looked really good… I was flying solo so I was in for cocktails and I had high expectations.. maybe it’s just me 🤷‍♂️ Really friendly and helpful staff.. they were looking after everyone.. 5/5 Anyway I think it’s a good place overall 6/10 for me because I had only one cocktail. I might update the rating if I visited this place again.

Lamb & Goat Pizza was superb Platter was great, ordered desserts they took a long time I had to ask for them. It was really noisy. Full on atmosphere

We just finished the most amazing share meal. The garlic and cheese pizza bread was delicious. The goats tribe platter was huge and had the most incredible variety of delights. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We could not believe how little it all cost. We had a wonderful evening. Thank you. We will most definitely be back. Worth coming up from Christchurch for.

A modern restaurant in the heart of Rotorua. Great service, delicious and reasonably priced food. We’ll definitely be back.

Platters were large with good selection. We had 2 platters and hummus board for 6 adults, I really enjoyed the kai, my company not so much, compared to what they had heard about The Fainting Goat. Kids burger wasn't great, pattie and bun were hard with no sauce which only got half eaten. The kid is a burger connoisseur too. The let down was the outside table wasn't cleaned/wiped down properly and the highchair was very unclean. Lucky to have baby wipes on hand to clean this myself.

The young blonde waitress did such a fantastic job of helping me with my unusual Sulphite allergy and working out a safe meal to eat. Thank you for your hospitality and the great food. We all loved it.

Great selection of cocktails and finger food. Love the setting of the place as well. Great for getting a good hangover.

Today would have been my parent’s 55th wedding anniversary… We’d heard some good things about Fainting Goat, but wanted to check it out for ourselves. Our big group of 13+ was accommodated on the pavement; and despite being outside, we were well looked after. The young dude that waited on us was the bomb - we’d rate him infinity/10 for service. Then the food came and we were worried the size of the dishes would buckle the tables. To make the occasion most memorable, some of our group broke some plates (not part of the plan)… We walked away with lots of left overs and hugely satisfied with our dining experience. We will definitely come back again.

The seafood platter and meat platter were divine so was the bloody dessert 9.5 out of ten. Oh and the boutique beer was the best tasted like passionfruit yummy!!!!!

Lovely ambiance and relaxing atmosphere. Fantastic service. Owner particularly good at accommodating a request for a warmer beer. A nice surprise!

Number one 'like' about the Fainting Goat would have to be the friendly staff and collegial atmosphere. It's clear the staff are happy at their work and there's a warm team culture. Guests are brought into that friendly atmosphere through warmth and sincerity. On the menu there are a very good range of interesting cocktails, (including alcohol free cocktails), beautifully put together and generously proportioned. For gin lovers, there is a range of intriguing offerings and high quality wines, bourbans, beers and brandies. On the food front, the large platters are great. The kaimoana platter was attractive and generously proportioned for four. The food was simple but well prepared and fresh. It is a great place to go for a drink with friends or as a couple to linger, nibble and talk.

We stop here for dinner after chatting to a waiter outside who showed us there amazing menu we decided to go for the Goat's Tribe meat plater which was next level huge and tasted delicious. It was also great value for money. The Fainting Goat also had a good selection of alcohol especially the beers on tap. We loved the decor and the atmosphere at this bar. The service was amazing and was made to feel very welcome here that I highly recommend coming here if your in Rotorua. It was my favorite place to eat in Rotorua.

Excellent bar service, wide drinks list options. You need to book of you're not arriving late. We came in at 915, experienced bar staff advised doing at 10, making drinks super fast.

Great food followed by great service highly recommended. (chicken wings was not spicy could be good to offer a higher heat in the future) a solid 9/10

My second visit to this lovely restaurant. Have a party of 10, we had 5 dishes to share; the kofta plate & seafood platter are the highlight, everyone enjoyed themselves. The service is attentive, food is good, reasonable price. Will be back for sure!

Such a fun place. We ordered the salt n pepper squid with a 1 ft rump n beet pizza. Fantastic friendly service. Just need a tab to be placed on the table so numpties like me don't just walk out. Reasonably priced and we with defo go back for the platters which are only after 2pm.

Full 5 stars! We visited the Dog and now the best friend the Goat! Still sitting here and enjoying the vibe, the service and the food! Fantastic food oh my word!!!! Good variety. And the price just right. Definately our new favourite spot, but sorry Dog not writing you off we still have soft spot for you! Chef give your team a raise! Will see us again with the family for sure!!!!!! Thumbs up!!!!!!

Owned by the same people as The Fat dog and The Rotorua a catering company, you can expect excellent service and a great upmarket drinking lounge 🤙🤙 This is exactly what Rotorua needed! A place to chill after hours that’s a good chill vibe from a hitting dinner menu with sharing plates and pizza ( served in either 1 or 2ft sizes 🤤) slabs to well curated craft beers and cocktails for the finer things in life. The Fainting Goat should be high up on your evening dinner list this summer. Rotorua folks are known to know like to try new things... but The Fainting Goat deserves your attention and tastebuds 👌🏼👌🏼 The Fainting Goat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Visited on Saturday night (10/7/21) with friends. Great range of gin and food was yummy. Friends shared platters and enjoyed them. I had Garlic pizza bread which was yummy. A + service!!

Great range of dinks and some wonderful in house cocktails.

We have been here twice. The first time they had just opened and we waited a long time for food. The food is yummy. The second time we got the meat sharing board looked great but we quickly realised there wasn't a lot of meat on there just lots of wedges and salad. I had to remind my waiter twice of the drink I ordered which took 45 mins to come out. They very kindly didn't charge me for my drink.

Fantastic meal. The sea food platter was really generous the Margureta Pizza you bought by length. Great. The squid was a very good dish and the Pear pizza was to die for. The waitress did a great job.

Food is great well priced and super tasty . Service was smart and great . Cocktails were made perfectly. If this is there average standard I will highly recommend them. Look forward to my next visit.

We left our on holiday lunch run a little late today....at 2.30pm, and not really knowing where to go we headed to the known and trusted Fat Dog......filled to capacity they suggested taking their menu thru to their adjacent business.... OMG..now seated in The Fainting 🐐 Goat....what a spectacular find.....Definitely our new 'go to' place. The menu has something for everyone, fantastic flavors and equally fantastic staff.

We were recommend this place so turned up that evening without a reservation and they managed to squeeze us in. We got a platter which was huge, enough for x2A n x2C plus lunch for the next day, and at a really reasonable price too!

i had heard good things about the fainting goat so on saturday decided to try we had the goats tribe platter what can i say but wow the food was excellent a great choice of drinks to choose from the team that are there are fantastic comfortable place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere we will be back

Not have a good in there cause I haven’t book a table for night, and this restaurant looks so popular in Rotorua, the staff told me they been fully booked with whole week. So better have an early book if u want have a dinner in there.

The famous Fat dog breakfast cafe in Rotorua have opened up a new Pizza and Mezze style restaurant in the shop next door and as we are big fans of Fat Dog we decided to give it a go. As it happened it was also their first night and if this is their standard moving forward then they will quickly become one of Rotorua's 'must try' food and drink spots. The service was excellent, the food was VERY good (Lamb Pizza - one of the best I've eaten, and the Kofta plates were very good too) and it was very reasonably priced We go to Rotorua several times a year and will ensure that when we visit the Fainting Goat will be on the list!

Travelling from Australia for our honeymoon and this place was such a great find! Great vibe, great atmosphere, quick service, good size meals - great value for money!

Hi there it's was an accident as my phone froze . And just a tip instead of asking someone " why they rated such a low rating" . I would have gone with "what could we have done better ? Or anything to engage your audience instead of going with the WHY . Am sorry it's probably just me and the food and service is good .

The food and service was great the tables could be a lot wider as after ordering for 8 there was 2 of us with our plates on our laps.

Lovely atmosphere, staff and delicious food. Only slight critique would be that the menu is small. Would be awesome for there to be a vegetarian platter option too.
