(Edit* I should have put this review under Ainga restaurant. Still great though.) This restaurant is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". Prompt, friendly, service, good beer and wine. I had my usual buyers regret and changed my order, no problem at all. The Tempura Prawns would have been rated top notch anywhere and our Drunken Noodles and Kung Pao were great. Respect to cooking and serving staff.

Took the family to surf and turf restaurant in my home town Ruakaka had a wonderful meal in pleasant surroundings chef Warren served us delicious food cooked exactly how we wanted it. The restaurant which is part of the Ruakaka Tavern although operating kind of on its own was quiet so I suggest all locals call in and have a great meal and take the kids who are catered for on the menu and enjoy. And if you're driving past on state highway one turn onto Port Marsden road go past the shopping center next left and you are there. And as I always say you will be made to feel most welcome

Well cooked meals and service. Was late getting my daughter's dinner out to table but the owner covered the cost of it with no hesitation and the waitress was apologetic. I'd definately go back.
