R.It was packed due to it been Mother's Day which was expected. Food didn't take as long as we thought which was good. However, steak was overcooked and too much vinaigrette on the salad. But I was hungry lol had better meals in the past. Maybe due to been cooked off their feet?
B.Typical pub. Average food offerings. Tired decor. Good place to go if you don't wanna be seen with an ugly date, or if you want to get plastered. I don't even think they'd mind if you came in pj's, it's pretty cruisy.
r.My family and I love eating here. We go at least 2-3 times week because the meals are sooo good..
They have amazing daily specials like $7 pork ribs and chips, $12 lamb shank meal with mash and peas, perfectly cooked steak meals, $8 pizzas, and my personal favorite is their seafood chowder with garlic bread for just $5 .. every week is different and new meals added often !
We've sampled nearly every dish here and have not been disappointed once. Amazing chefs and lovely service from all the staff. I highly recommend!

K.First time having lunch there for our daughter's birthday today. Had Steak meals, Butter chicken, Pork Ribs, Steak Burger & Seafood chowder for our meals. Chocolate cheesecake, Chocolate moose, Vanilla Ice cream w/ wafer stick & Brownies w/ whip cream & caramel sauce for desserts.
Food was frikken YUMM 😋 even our kids were complimenting the Chef! 👌🏼 Nothing left on our plates ! Good bang for ya buck! 🤑
Spacious dine in area 🍽️ Outside seating area also.
Couple of arcade claw machines to occupy the kids until your food comes lol
However not really long of a wait.
Staff were all kind, friendly & awesome considering our kids are jabba jaws 🥴 Review could change. But I highly doubt it. So its a 5 star rating for us 👌🏼
Might become our new local once a week I think 👍🏽

A.This place is amazing for a lunch bargain and cooked to perfection.nice one chef 😉🤤.. alot of excellent deals.the bar itself is huge, with many different zones. I highly recommend you head over for a lunch any day of the week and you will be pleasantly surprised. Thumbs up

M.Affordable, bar/pub like setting, kitchen staff on the restaurant side were a little slow, my meal was forgotten within the kitchen mayhem. However the meal did come out in the end, the food was good but the desert I ordered Chocolate Brownie was reheated, I didn't manage to take a photo due to forgetting.

M.Been here many times for a meal, but tonight our meals were disappointing. Amazing staff, but greasy fish n chips, wish they bring back the nice steak meals and just seemed so rushed and thrown together
D.Took the family out for dinner (5 adults + 3 kids). Meals ranged from spare ribs, lamb shanks, seafood baskets and mussels. Prices very reasonable and food tasted wonderful. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Great whanau outing..
S.Amazing selection of Alcohol. I bought a cream pasta and cheesecake and It was yummy! I wish I bought a basket of seafood which is my thing with any light drink. 🙂🙂🙂. I also wished I tried all the vibrant cruiser too.
S.Great service from awesome ladies behind the bar. The ribs were awesome also fish burger meal I got for only $5 that day and great deals everyday on different meals everyday. Forgot to take pictures was hungry haha will take em next time definitely will go back for lunch👍
E.Good food here, their meals are cheap and big portions, so you get a good bang for your buck. They also quite often have specials on like a $10 roast on sundays. Sometimes their head cheif can be a bit loud, you can hear her yelling at the other cheifs.

J.Thoroughbred was good. Clean restauramt and staff very friendly. Followed Covid rules and staff ensured all customers were either scanning or registering in. Also keeping 2 metre distances... will recommend going there again.
C.Its not fancy, but has great prices for meals. Families were there, seniors having a catchup. Seated area separate from bar space. Big screen to watch sports. I'm rating on the taste of my steak meal and affordability.
J.Wasn't so pleased with the meal this time. Small amount of fish and very small salad considering I had no eggs and no chips OR mash! Paid FULL PRICE for small fillets and small amount of salad so might look elsewhere me thinks.

V.Warmly greeted upon arrival from bar staff. Friendly staff made my partner and I feel at home and welcomed. Waitress cheerfully served our meals. Lamb shank and Steak chips`n eggs. Lamb shank was delectable and fell right off the bone, mash potatoes were light fluffy and buttery. steak meal was seasoned and cooked to perfection. 5 star quality food for a very affordable price. Beautiful atmosphere very "kiwi" felt right at home.

M.I love coming here. I usually only come to the Thoroughbred for their food. But every time I have it's been amazing!! Their food has always been cooked to perfection & everything tastes so good. They have a good range of food on their menu & I'm sure everyone could find something they like. They're usually very fast to bring food out but you can expect a little bit of a wait when it is quite packed & it can deffinately get like that alot. They sometimes screen the fights and games that are usually on sky sports aswell if you just give them a call they'll let you know. Even better its projected on their back wall so the picture is massive!!

D.Pretty decent just need to give as much attention to the diners as they do the tap patrons and hopefully they get the damn air con pumping abit uncomfortable other than that the food was good typical pub food. Good place to hide away and drink beer though
K.Wow.... just popped down to our local pub Thoroughbred Takanini for their new 10$ meals...yum.... service was quick.... steak divine,chips cooked to perfection...salad extremely flavorsome egg runny and the gravy delicious...indeed we will be visiting the local again on a regular basis...Monday and Tuesday 10$ steak meals...worth a visit...and the staff... onto it...prompt...friendly and the chef deserves 5 stars cooked with passion...plated with pride....I think.....highly recommend.... we will be visiting them regularly...value for money...and the staff thanked us on the way out...now that's customer service....next time we will buy a beer or two to wash down....or stop to play a game of pool to.
