A mainly pizza and toastie eatery at a superb location right on the lake edge. We went there on a horribly rainy day, but it was so welcoming and warm inside. Friendly, chatty staff and food was really tasty.. We were able to bring our dog inside ("We're dog friendly throughout..") so bonus points for that, and ours was one of 3 there at the time. We will definitely be back in sunnier weather to enjoy the stunning views better! 👌🏼

Nice ambience in a laid back manner. Not pretentious at all, very relaxing. We ordered pizzas which were ready in about 15 minutes and very tasty. Lots of choices where to sit, inside or out, in the sun or shade. I'm sure that if we lived in Taupo, this would be a regular spot for a drink and meal.

Lovely setting, great food when I got it, but to start off they got my order wrong. I am coeliac - not a pretend gluten free drama princess - my friend who ordered, and she knows food, doubled checked. they could have killed me, could have had a dramatic ambulance scene with me in the starring role, thank God Marie loves me, and I love her and Chris and Harry to bits. Mate tell your night staff they need to listen better when patrons are ordering. And or turn the music down or move the speaker away from the ordering area so your staff can hear customers.

Be aware that the bagels and toasted sandwiches aren’t served past a certain time, leaving only pizza, which they refuse to serve without any tomato citing the oven is too hot. Had many other wood fired places do it no problems, they just add more oil on top of the base. We’d take all our guests here but since I’m allergic to tomato we don’t.

Awesome location but much else could be improved. Staff are generally uninterested and appear poorly trained. On multiple visits simple stuff like trying to get a table wiped seems like a chore, always easier to simply ask for the cloth to do it oneself. Pizza's are average, strange combos (I mean cream cheese, really?) and very expensive. Drinks menu is like some sort of throwback to the 1980's, no idea wine list, poor and limited choices with one brand of tap beer. In the meantime as the only place in Taupo on the water it's a captive audience and no competition. While much has been spent to enhance the environment and this looks great, the rest has a couldn't care less attitude. Great spot for a sunset drink but the rest is comically underwhelming. Really need to get people involved with hospitality experience and a customer focus.

Had the best day here in Jan 2021 and couldn't wait to come back again this year. The best location in Taupo, can pull up the boat on the wharf, huge inflatables on the water for kids, great food, welcoming hosts and dog friendly. Love the place!

Enjoyed a great evening here, Thursday 11th February. The live solo artist Jason McIver was great. Good pizza, nice beer,fantastic sunset, wow wee, and was interesting watching the locals having their paddle board class. Definitely recommend this place.

The closest to a Mediterranean Beach Club in New Zealand. The place is beautiful and well looked after, the customer service is nice and the food good. The atmosphere is chilled and the vibes are amazing. On a sunny day look nowhere else to go. Tip: Dog friendly.

Awesome atmosphere. Place for kids to swim and play on a water trampoline ( life jackets provided) . Inside and outside shaded area, glass protection from the wind. Havana coffee and nice latin music playing. A+++ for checking the Vaccine Passes .

Jeez, what a top spot. Helpful that it was a bluebird day - even Khandahar's nice on a fine day. Been going for over 30 years they tell me. Cold beer, delicious (smelling and looking) pizza (other arrangements, couldn't eat) and an outlook to truly savour! Great staff, heaps of space, sit on the waters edge if you like. Bloody good!

A lovely little quirkly place to stop by, i walked past in the morning whilst on my way to 5 mile bay and on the way back i was famished so ordered a stone baked pizza which was fantastic, i ate this entire thing. And that ice cold can of coke went down a treat in the heat. A lovely place, i bet its lovely in the evening as well.

Really lovely place right on the water, pretty good vibes as is family and dog friendly, food was good, but just way too over priced for what it actually is.

Pizzas were great but a bit overpriced compared to other places I’ve been to. Had a small selection of food, you can only choose between pizzas, 2 paninis and 2 breakfast items.

Good fun, helpful staff, good food and a stunning, unbeatable location. We can't wait to visit them again.

What a cool venue over the water on the Taupo cycle and walkers trail around the lake. You can get an ice cream, a pizza,a beer wine or coffee depending on time of day or you current needs. Sunday night they have a jam session, well worth a visit. You can also rent a yacht or a kayak. They have also just done up the cycle/walking track from town and added burgers to their menue.

This place is a truly gem. I've stop for a bite and wine after cycling the Great Lake Walkway. The staff is amazing, so receptive and helpful. The pizza was delicious! The vibe of the place is sooo good. Bin bags, great views, sunset, excellent music, outstanding service and quality food. What else could you ask for?

Loved this place! Traveling NZ we stopped into the local information booth in Taupo and they recommended this place. We walked up from our freedom camping site at 5 Mile Bay along the beautiful lakefront path. This place is literally right on the water with heaters on the patio. Cozy & casual atmosphere with delicious thin-crust pizza and friendly staff. We stayed most of the night!

Drinks and Wood Fired Pizza by the lake. If you like the water it has literally the best lakeside location in Taupo. Very casual open air (covered) setting with live music on Sundays. Recommended for hot weekends - but on windy days... not so much. Great place to stop with kids 5 and older.

What an amazing spot by the lake. Recommended for relaxing with a drink in any type of weather. We tried a pizza cooked in the wood fired pizza oven - yum.

This place was a nice find, set on the lake front, dogs allowed inside & out on lead. Bagels, toasted sandwiches and pizza is the menu. Limited vegetarian options which is a bit disappointing however the vege pizza was amazing. Coffee was good. Only downside is the staff who weren’t overly friendly, just very matter of fact (expect the Frenchmen he was lovely). A smile or friendly hello wouldn’t go a miss. Other than that, great place to visit.

Noice refreshing stop on our way to Rotorua. The view is really nice. Warm and nice even on a rainy windy day

OMG the pizzas here are so so good. Our celiac daughter was so stoked to get a gluten free pepperoni pizza that tasted the bomb. I ended up eating the last few pieces. She ate the most pizza I have ever seen her eat. The location dn view and value for money is excellent. Also great spot for our morning coffee run with no weird looks when we ordered our coconut flat whites. Highly recommend, kid friendly but a great place no matter your vibe. Did I mention how good the 🍕's are.

Loved our lunchtime visit to have yummy woodfired pizzas. Sitting on the edge of the lake chatting with friends was magical. Arriving with Taxicat Adventures service from across the lake right to the pontoon was a special added plus to our afternoon.

A stunning location. We stopped for a coffee and date scone. The coffee was strong but in small cups, I would have preferred a mug with more liquid in. The scone was good, heated in the pizza oven so had a crispy top... very tasty.

So nice to have dinner a drink with all members of your family. Yes me and my dog enjoyed the hospitality of the sailing club when we were in Taupo. We were welcomed both of us and encouraged to use the facilities and the dogs to engage. There was no aggression just happy dogs playing and being inquisitive, just happy to be included and seen as part of the family. Thank you for a unique experience a lovely dinner and and great service and hospitality.

The pizzas were good. Excellent location. Very friendly stuff. Only the pizza waiting time was 1 hour + on Easter. At least there should have been a warning. Hense only 4 stars

Amazing location on the lake, great pizzas and beer on tap. The only shocker is that they allow people with dogs into the restaurant, I had a Great Dane put it’s slobbering face on the table next to my pizza, and I was the only one who seemed to think this was not ok! What are the regulations around allowing dogs to walk feeling in a food area? Apart from that, and it is a big ‘that’, this is an amazing place to spend a relaxing time eating and drinking.

Very accommodating on a busy night, great atmosphere. Super friendly service! The best gluten and dairy free pizza iv ever eaten- Hands down. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Casual but slightly sophisticated. Order from bar and grab your disc. When pizza is ready disc vibrates and you collect your pizza from near the oven. It was blowing a gale today so was rather interesting. Thought it may be closed but it was quite busy for 5pm on a Monday - maybe still people on holiday? Pizza was thin crust, plenty of filling and happily added pineapple to our meat lovers. No extras like garlic bread but it was filling on it's own. They do a garlic pizza. Made a lemon lime and bitters for me. There was a dog wondering round collecting the toppings that dropped on the floor. A good experience . Nice place for bite.

What a nice place. Sitting in the warm sun in January eating pizza. Kids loved playing/swimming on the big tramp in the water. Was busy, but service was good and staff helpful. Life jackets were provided for the kids to swim out to the water tramp.

Perfect place to enjoy with family, friends or just the entertainment of being around people of this community. I have met the owner Taubin of Two Mile Bay as he is very friendly cheerful with a great personality in which I describe as being very positive, friendly orientated and very down to earth. My sons set up marquees for him and his business alot he is always happy to see my boys everytime my son's arrive. A lot of outdoor entertainment to keep you from being bored out of your mind I would highly suggest kayaking even if it's your first time and especially on a beautiful sunny day. Two Mile Bay has a variety of beambags for you to lay back on if your into reading or just chilling with nice cold refreshments of your choice to start your day and don't forget to try the Two Mile Pizza's made fresh on the spot or ready to go. Alot tables to seat you your family or if you prefer to be indoors and out of the sun then whatever is idealistic for you, family or friends you won't be disappointed. It has a warf located on the front side of lake I think it's a great spot to have a business like Two Mile that sits right on the heart of Taupo Lake. All in all the atmosphere of this place is just amazing to be around if your either in the vicinity of Two Mile Bay a tourist thats just stopping by or from the Local Taupo Community or your either just passing through go and check it out the local view of the lake itself is spectacular especially in the evening or when there is a specific event happening in the community it's definitely a number 1 spot for me to go to. You yourself will find that this location of where the sailing club sits is a must go to location. Spending wise isn't a problem but it's definitely on my list of "You won't even worry to much about that when your actually there". 😉🙂 I would highly recommend this place to anyone and see if you can spot the owner and his brother's last name Landle which are printed into the cement on the walkway just a little something to get you started while your there.

Love this place because it is different. You can sit inside and look out over the lake thru plastic blinds, which can be pulled up, or kept down to keep the wind out. You can choose to sit outside at tables or lie in bean bags. The food is nice, the coffee good and there is a bar if you feel like a cool drink too.. A great place to stop off at on your journey.

Great Pizza,Cold Beer and Happy Staff.

Would be 5 stars if the outdoor seating was smoke free. Hard to enjoy our drink and food with our 4month old when the people next to us were lighting up regularly. Other than that it's the best place in Taupo for a drink and some food in a chilled out atmosphere with a cool pontoon for the kids to jump off and life jackets available

This place can get really busy so go there early and grab a place. Plenty of beer options but guys, you need more cider options! Somersby is wayyy too sweet for most people (myself included). The pizzas are decently priced and we didn’t have to wait too long despite the large crowd. Worth a visit for those pizzas

Only used this place for casual evening meals and it is great. Wonderful lakeside ambience, excellent wood fired pizzas, good music and friendly and attentive service. Great place to relax with a wine or beer, watch the sunsets, and introduce your kids to real 70's music.

This is a great place to stop in and have a beer on your travels through Taupo! I have been to this bar several times and there always seems to be different staff behind the bar! The bar area has a nice welcoming vibe with lots of interesting trinkets adorning the walls (though sadly this theme is not followed throughout the rest of the place). The food is awesome and there is a nice selection of local beers!

Our group had perfect conditions and despite most of us not having sailed before, managed to tack out to almost across the lake, then come back again and arrive safely at the pontoon. Great fun and a very pleasant coffee and cake to finish. Well recommended.

Best place in Taupo for a few drinks and a pizza. Could while away a whole day at this place sitting with your feet in the sand and kids right next to you having a great time in the lake. Even have a big inflatable raft for them to jump off etc.

Loved this place! We stopped by to inquire about SUP rentals and met some really cool folks working the place. We ended up not renting as we decided to do jet skis instead. However, we came back on two separate afternoons to have a beer and sit in their oversized beanbags on the lawn. A great place to catch some afternoon sun. Right on the lake trail.

Stopped in for lunch. Found they only sell pizza, bagels and toasted sandwiches. Ordered the chicken pizza, was ok. For the price you pay, i would have liked more chicken or herbs on it as it lacked flavour. Was a nice location on the lake. Probably wouldn't go again.

Awesome. After a day of driving in gale force winds we arrived at Taupo to a windy lake. As a keen windsurfer the first thing I did was google a water sports hiring centre. To my amazement when I arrived i found an awesome cafe/water sports hire centre. Two for one. The owner hired me his own personal gear that was brand new and to my amazement after talking about my foiling experience he also lent me his own foil board. I had a great session on the water with the backdrop of mountains. A true highlight and its only day 1 in Taupo!! A must visit for anyone who has water running through their veins. Ill be back tomorrow if the wind stays up. If not we will just sit there with the view and eat pizza's and have some cold beers. Highly recommend

What an amazing place for my 70th birthday lunch. The setting is stunning, the pizzas delicious and the staff were gracious and professional. Thank you so much for making my day special.

Delicious pizza, no hot chips, Lakeman Xpa was slightly odd but okay to drink. Brilliant location

Great spot to hire a sailing boat, there is excellent service. We have gone here three or so times and have had no problems. I recommend this place for beginners to sailing. For the sailing boats it is $45 for half an hour. They also offer SUP, 2 person kayaks, 1 person Kayaks, wind surfing and a few other things

Such a good spot, not the cheapest but by far one of the most special places around on a good day

Great little place on the bay across from our motel at the accent Enclosed deck area with tables and chairs overlooking the bay as well as outdoor tables by walking path Wood oven pizza and sandwiches and lots of cold beer and wine. Note that you have to order at the bar as with most area pubs. Excellent music with drop in muscians. Blankets provided on windy days

The pizza earned the 5 star but the sunset over the lake was a 10+. And after you factor in the staff in the bar you have the best place on the water in Taupo,NZ.

You can rent sail boats, stand up paddle boards $20 for 30 minutes. Tab beer is $11. There is a floating raft for kids to swim out to. A fun place to take the kids and you can enjoy a beer.

Great position right on the water, easy parking being just out of town. Good coffee and pizzas.

Good atmosphere, but you pay for it! $10 per beer and extortionate $23 pizza that probably costs $3 to make!

Always a mighty fine spot for an afternoon refreshment on a sunny day.

This little slice of paradise was probably one of the highlights of the trip.. amazing pizza the music was old school blues crossed with jazz live band trumpet and all friendly as staff and untouched by the crowds and bustle of inner Taupo just a great vibe that we were craving and amazing talent highly recommended 😀

If you’re in Taupo, you MUST stop here! We came for some morning coffee and ended up spending hours here! Great drinks, muffins, pizza and SUP, plus they gave us a deal on water sports so it was only $15 to paddle board for an hour. Torben was so nice too—this place is dope

As a local and single mum I find it over priced but the spot is beautiful! Unfortunately the 'open mic' night is more a 'hog the mic' night. I so hope that will change asap.

Quaint little place on the water: the main business is renting watersport equipment etc, but also does a good selection of coffee, wine and beer. Has live music occasionally too!

No where better to have a chilled evening watching the stunning Taupo Sunset, with great people, great drinks and great music. The 2 mile Bay center is a Taupo icon and a must visit!
