Nice food with affordable price. We ordered creamy pasta, pan fried fish, zukinni pancake, and BBQ lamp. All they were very tasty. The total price was 100, which was quite affordable, and the staff were super friendly.

It's aight. The food looks better than it tastes. It's just a bit plain tasting. But to be honest, it's about what you would expect from this kind of pub resturant, and you probably don't have many other options at certain times of the year.

Bar staff were very friendly. Food was average. I had the seafood chowder which was quite salty and had mainly chewy squid pieces in it however was a large serving - bread was very dry so I asked for some butter for it. My husband had steak which was good and our son had nugget and chips which was a very generous size. Dessert was very yummy but I think the icecream had been prerolled and refrozen so it was very hard. Nice spot overlooking the Lake

The Moose has had its day. Looking tired, too large as only a couple of tables occupied for a drink and a couple inside the resturant for a dinner. The staff member wasnt overly welcoming and even if you tried to make a conversation, it was an effort to get a smile or response.

We played the quick which is 7pm on a Wednesday ($10 to play) but it was worth it (even though we did terribly) Bar staff and others sat at the bar next to us helped us out and it was a lovely evening. Free sausage and chips while doing the quiz too which is a nice touch. Film clips , songs and fun different rounds. I would recommend to all!

An unassuming place, some people may say it's somewhat downmarket. I liked it. The cheapest steak in town at 25 bucks and pint of Speights at 8. Good people working there. If you go there you'll enjoy it.

A local hangout, The Moose Bar is large with a full bar and food service. It appeared to offer live music on the weekends, but we weren't there for any of that. I didn't have any drinks, but the chicken sandwich I got was decent. Service from the bartender was great, he was very friendly and a joy to talk to.

We enjoyed our meal at The Moose. Luckily it was Rump Steak special night for less than the cost of the burgers! Excellent as well. Two in our group split the chicken Alfredo, which was a large enough portion to easily split. Mixed drink was weak, but beer was good.

Only place in town open 24/7. The portions are a good size, even though the menu only offers a select items after 10p. Service was good. Enormous fish and chips. The nachos were topped generously but if you are used to real Mexican food, they will be a bit off. No jalapenos. More sour cream than cheese. A sweet and sour sauce seemed to be all over it. (Or their salsa is unusually sweet.) I would recommend you ask them to not put this on! Wouldn't eat them this way again. Nachos should never be sweet.

The Moose is hands down the No 1 Bar & Restaurant in Te Anau. They have a good selection of food, drinks and entertainment. You can also access the TAB for sports betting if you feel the need. With Big Screen TVs, a Pool table and gaming machines it makes the Moose the No 1 hang out in town. They also have car parking and a courtesy van for those who need dropped home. As far as the food, I can’t fault it. I would always back an ethical business like the Moose over and above the other shonky one up the road.
