Great service with a tight 3 piece jazz band. As is the way with Hospitality the chef hadn't fronted so Barney put on free pizzas for all

Place is pretty packed. Be good if they expand it, hard to get the bartenders attention, but again that would be due to over crowding, but always apologises, and serves us with a smile, play pretty good music and the bouncers have a pretty good sense of humor. A+++++

It was a quiet night when we visited but the locals were extremely friendly and the landlord, Barny, was good for a joke. Great place to have a pint!

Great live bands :) great ambiance. Just don't wear slip on flat shoes because they might become a permanent feature in the bar. Extremely sticky floors. Average pricing for drinks. Good smoking area if you're a smoker.

The stickiest floor in Timaru. Actually maybe the stickiest floor in the South Island..... but I love the live music and will always go for Assembly Required! They have good pub food too, and Quiz Night is great fun

Shame they don't serve meals every day steak is great value but tried to visit Tuesday and Wednesday night only snack bar meals. Visitors from the USA very disappointed

An old favourite and Timaru's best entertainment. South Canterbury's leading publican Barney Cahill is the owner and is still found behind the bar most of the time for a great chat and fine beverage!!
