Must have experience if you are in the area near Waipu or Mangawhai. Pizza s and food to die for. Match that with your choice of award winning beers. Will never feel disappointed. Awesome place for craft beer lovers and all.

Beautiful beers, great food! is a nice throwback to a Lone star kinda vibe, ribs, burgers, pizza, squid, wings. Tasty stuff done right.

I love this place. They don't take bookings (with one exception, if you have over 12 people and then there's only one table) and sometimes the wait can be a little long, but to me it's worth the wait. Their pizza's are the best. If you go I hope you get to sit in the lower section to the right. It's like sitting outside without having to deal with the weather.

Pretty cool place, giving massive rustic barn vibes. Really love the decor comprising of old-fashioned tools/instruments and wall-mounted game heads. The beer is good and the food is quite delicious. Our group had the "Pioneer" pizza (like a meatlovers - ham + salami + peperoni + bacon, which was full of flavour and quite scrumptious), the "Longboarder" pizza (like a Hawaiian but on steroids, packed with double meat and double pineapple - unfortunately, this one was a bit cold in the middle), the steak was perfectly cooked to order and served with a delicious jus & fries, the chicken burger was good and so was the fish & chips. The only downside is the waiting time - roughly around 45 minutes on a long weekend (not really unexpected and happy to wait sipping on a fine cold beer). We do go here every time we're up this way and will defo return!

Couldn't speak higher of this place, service and food were exceptional! Food came out quickly and it was Devine! The team are well trained in all aspects of the venue, professional with personality! Excellent!

Good food. ok prices on pizzas if you get a large. the pizza was a bit hard to eat because there was so much on a tiny base. service wasnt very good. it took 40 minutes for our pizzas to come out, the pizza basses where ok but clearly frozen. for a pizza with a frozen base and some chips it should really only take 20 mins MAX. they don't do bookings too so you could be in for a wait or have to go somewhere else. also you have to go up to order. if you want somewhere to have a nice meal in Peace this is not it, definitely a family restaurant. also our desert took ages to come out. this restaurant is in the perfect location for families passing through on their way to or from Auckland but are wasting a perfect opportunity. if you want to have a proper meal her with desert your looking at 2 hours or even more.

After a day fishing we were driving through waipu to waipu cove, our vehicle seemed like it was going to overhead, although this wasn’t registering on the temperature gauge we thought it best to give the car a rest, to rehydrate ourselves we called into the pizza barn, we have been here on several occasions in the past, it is a great spot with plenty of tasty beers and fantastic pizzas. The car seemed to run well after its rest……better to be safe than sorry!!

Great place. Great food. The burgers were fantastic. I tried the pork belly burger and the chicken burger and both were amazing. Pretty good beer as well. Was absolutely amazed at the celiac friendly options. They even have a separate vat for gluten free stuff. My partner who's celiac said it was some of the best (gluten free) pizza she's had. She also tried the gluten free burger. All was great and great portions. Would definitely recommend checking it out.

We came here for dinner and some drinks on the Auckland Anniversary weekend, we loved it. Food was great, service was great and I loved their cider. Only negative was that they don't have the cider available to purchase in bottles so I could take back to the campsite! We had the ribs, a pizza and the loaded skins, all were amazing.

Cute, fun Scottish themed pub, with friendly service and a local waiter who entertains punters with a fake Scottish accent. Never a dull moment! Handles the summer rush really well, yummy pizzas! And they have hot sauce condiments!

Tēnā rā koe e te kohine i korero Māori mai ki a matou i te Pohoroi. We want to say a big tau ke / awesome to the young woman at the door on Saturday night. The restaurant was busy as yet she remained super friendly and clearly explained the wait time and process for getting a table. She recognised us as a Māori Whanau (Two of us carry moko kauwae) and she proceeded to add reo Māori to our interactions. The wait was worth the great kai and the reo Māori interaction with this lovely wahine. It is always wonderful for our whānau to feel comfortable using our reo in everyday public places. I hope you know what an asset you have with this staff member. Tēnā rā koutou Waipu Pizza Barn.

So much to look at, so many seats, and not only is there a toddlers' toy area, there's a full on treehouse in the back! But aside from those unique elements, the place has its own multidimensional atmosphere with so many different dining spaces, and more than 3 stretches of bars with taps for their own beer. For the first time ever, I actually wanted to have a full pint of a pilsner over a pale after our generous beer tasting tray; this isn't to say that the pales and IPAs were bad in any way, they're not, but that pils was so surprisingly refreshing. Now, their other main specialty was pizza and it lives up to its reputation as a place worth the wait (there'll be a wait for anything in some way or another).

Absolutely love this place, when i was going to all the breweries up north. Definitely the one the stood out from the rest with great customer service, happy atmosphere and incredible beers. The far north chilli pils seasonal beer earlier in the year was to die for!

First things first, Mclouds beers are hands down the best in the region, dare I say best in NZ!? Cozy place with relaxed atmosphere. The food is comfortable, basic and yet never disappoints. We will be back the next time we're driving through.

Great place to eat! Fun old school decor. Be sure to check out the mirrors before the entrance to the ladies toilets to see infinity of yourself. Ladies toilets were cutely decorated as well with retro wall paper and a funky lamp. We had pizzas, nachos and Fush & Chups (yeah that’s what it’s called! Haha) and a couple of ciders which were also good.

Add an extensive beautifully prepared menu and service that puts many others to shame and you have McLeods. At the time of our visit they were ranked 2nd best brewery in New Zealand and had the best beer award. What else can you say, highly recommended.

I recommend having a class of their apple cider while you wait for your order, as you can't get the cider as a take away. Great selection of craft beers to take away. Recommended by friends, I was skeptical, but this place is absolutely worth skipping off the highway. Great pizzas with some interesting and tasty combinations are what they're named for, but the very wide menu will have something to suit almost anybody. The atmosphere is very relaxing, staff are so friendly and helpful; you'll want to stay longer and enjoy it. Make an effort to stop for lunch - be warned there could be a midday line at the door when they open!

Great beer and excellent pub food to go with it. But during holiday seasons or busy weekends it can be really had to park anywhere close by. Also you cannot book and the staff don’t really seem to able to give a rough service time. Perhaps they should offer to call when a space is free or introduce booking.

A Northland institution. Love the new billboard at wellsford. One of the best breweries in NZ, always coming up with tasty and innovative brews. Pizzas are well-balanced. No anchovies on the menu but added on request. Be prepared to order a large pizza each for hungry blokes, a couple sharing one is a light meal. Only room for improvement would be some beer specials to justify visiting more regularly - take home packs for less than the super expensive supermarket price would be primo.

if I could give more stars I would. I loooove it here! first of all, this restaurant is child friendly, there is a little play area for the kids- perfect! Secondly the design of the restaurant is fun it's unique historic, but it's incredibly inviting. thirdly the food- pizza is to die for! and lastly the service- it's mostly always busy so I'd recommend bookings, but the friendly staff and the place itself make waiting worth it. just brilliant.

Had an award winning lager to wash down a small pizza that was possibly one of the best I have ever had for lunch yesterday. My wife had a delicious salad and the barman mixed her a cool summer wine spritzer Just about the ideal place to stop for refreshments when heading North or back to Auckland. Next time my wife is driving I'm trying some more of those great beers.

Being the last to turn up from my group of friends I was privy to the delights ahead of me before had even gone in the front door. With the warm autumn sun beating down on me the sight of pizza had me excited. Inside the staff we friendly and helpful, and back at the table there was a constant flow of water refills to pass the time. As is always the case, Pizza is certainly not fast food, but here at McLeods the wait is worth it. The volume of toppings meant eating cleanly was near impossible, with every handful almost resulting in disaster. But everyone seemed to keep their cool and balance their pizza during its long journey from plate to mouth. Id recommend anyone who doesn't love pizza eat here. Your mind will changed.

We've eaten here more than 20 times in the past seven years. Big fans! We've been with groups, but mostly just myself and the wife. Not once have we been even remotely disappointed. Quirky decor, consistently helpful and friendly staff, great food and the recent addition of quality beers brewed on site. What more could you want?! My only wish is that Auckland had an equivalent!

We had to wait a while for a table (despite arriving at 12.05pm - it's that popular!). Never mind, while we waited we had a sample platter of all 8 brewed-right-there beers. Uniformly delicious, from lager through to Double IPA. Then it was time for pizza and they were stunning. Laden down with lashings of good quality inventive toppings. To top it all off the staff are incredible - friendly & efficient. Nothing's Ng is too much trouble. Wonderful place.

Staff were not very accomodating for a group of 12 during the new years rush. We wanted 8 pizzas and a table but they couldn't seat us at any of the empty tables for some reason. Even though we were told they weren't doing takeaways we did manage to order takeaways so miscommunication between staff was apparent. An average pizza, nothing special but no complaints. Not worth $24 for a margherita pizza though...

This is my favourite pizza place in Aotearoa. Great beers brewed by McLeods and a great range of delicious food. The bar staff are amazing and the atmosphere of this place is the best you'll get - Cool Scottish surfing, fishing and hunting memorabilia adorn the walls.

Popped into Waipu to have lunch at McLeod's Pizza Barn. I loved the atmosphere of this establishment. The bar and waiting staff were friendly and professional. The decor is a collection of varying interests. Such as glass milk bottles at the door in there crate, waiting for a milk delivery.The female toilets have knitting book covers from the 50s pasted to the wall, as well a chandelier and floral curtains. There is also historic information to be read on various walls, mounted animal heads, tartans with soprans. There will be something to catch your attention when having an awesume meal at McLeods Pizza Barn. I recommend trying the loaded Potato Skins.

Good experience at McLeod's Pizza Barn. I'd heard good things about this place from the locals and been meaning to come, I wasn't disappointed. Good service, was busy but they had plenty of staff. Pizza's were yummy and it's no problem to take what's left over home, the staff happily put it in a pizza box. The chip's were huge, enough to share. Will come again. Have to try another pizza.

Mclouds know their beverages and they have married them with delicious pizzas and pub food. We stopped in with our 1 year old who was entertained in the kiddies corner while we shoved pizza down. Definitely a hotspot for this beach cove town.

I went there during the evening with a group of friends just recently and all I can say is that I was blown away. Their pizzas and desserts are delicious and they are generous in their servings. The people serving us were helpful and brought us our food not long after ordering it. I like the way the interior is designed and how some of the walls are tartan as well as some of the taxidermy they have. McLeods is a really chill place with lots of places to sit. Highly recommended.

It’s ok but not the best pizza’s a little under cooked and a bit bland to be honest and by far the most expensive for what they were, I think this place is probably surviving on past reputation and maybe need to have a good look at what they’re serving for value, say that I’d probably return and try something other than pizza as the steaks on the table next to us looked very inviting, as for the beer it’s what you get in NZ, not the best in the world but a thirst quencher at least A bit of local competition would do Mcleold’s the world of good
