J.Truly a fantastic and well rounded bar - from the immeasurably talented staff, the totality of the theming, right through to the range of well thought out infusions. C.G.R. Merchant is well worth making a trip to if you can take the time to consciously discover the door.
J.You’ve got to look out for that door leading up to this upstairs bar. Low key, classic with a unique menu of house blended concoctions. Specializing in rum and gin. The gingerbread infused drinks are yummy. Friendly bar tender and wondrous backdrop of liqueur.
M.Best cocktails in Wellington. Also a big fan of the salted caramel rum and gingerbread gin.
A.Merchant is a great little secret. The kind of place you'd never notice of you walked past it.
The vibes are nice and chill and the staff are good. But the infusions are what makes this place special. Can't go past the salted caramel rum which is 👌 (though I also like the Jalapeno one when I'm feeling brave enough). They have a few good food items for something to eat while you sample the drinks.

S.This quaint bar is really a nice hidden spot. Great ambience and the infusion cocktails are wonderful. Tried the Salted Caramel dark rum and it was excellent! Will definitely come back.

B.Great little cocktail bar tucked away upstairs, perfect atmosphere if you're looking to chill with friends and a cocktail. They also make drinks for you based on what you feel like, just ask the server! Nice and intimate.

C.Best bar I have been to in a long time! The barman was attentive and a superb cocktail maker! The infused alcohol in abundance, so many interesting flavours and all delicious. My friend and I had a brilliant night, we'll definitely be back on our next trip to try out some more!
G.A great quiet and intimate bar with friendly staff. Lots of tables for smaller groups that are generally always available. The food menu is fun but pretty limited - some vegan/vegetarian options would be awesome to see!
A.This place seems so missed placed in Courtney Place (and I mean that as a compliment).
It just seems like a really classy establishment, there's a really nice choice of cocktails and drinks here and considering it's a gin/rum bar (and I'm not a fan of either) they have some incredibly nice drinks here.
Staff are incredibly friendly and always make sure you're looked after (even going as far to make sure your glass of water is never empty).
The music here is not loud so it's perfect if you want to get away with your friends for a chat.
The prices are actually not that bad considering, however, the size of the cocktails are a little small overall, still... I would definitely come back here in future.
E.Great bar and had a gifted bartender in Michael. Easy to miss if you're not looking closely for the door and then walk up the stairs. A ton of infusions to fit every palate as well as standard drinks and off menu creations. A definite must go.
M.Delicious selection of cocktails made by passionate people in a cosy environment. This is a unique place offering an experience that will impress. Arrived as they were closing so options were limited to the first page of gin and rum infusions. These turned out to be delicious, and prevented us getting lost in the myriad other pages.

P.One of the coolest cocktail bars in Wellington. Boating an exceptional range of in house infused spirits, you're guaranteed to find something you like here. My personal favorite will always be the salted caramel rum, it's a sure fire winner.

S.Love coming and trying the different infusions of gin and rum they have here. It's always so creative and different to others bars, yet still casual and they are open late so it doesn't matter what time you go. Staff friendly and gave us good information about when a table was going to be free.

M.Very very good experience, apparently that place has been open for 8 years, wich i could not believe: the decoration is on point and does not seem more than 1 year old; the lighting is just perfect for a cozy atmosphere.
The drinks are pretty cheap for what they serve, real fruit infused , no syrup (!).The staff was wonderfully patient and very helpfull for a non "conoisseurs" like me, would totally recommend or come back.

K.Tucked away upstairs bar with impressive infused rum and gin. Cosy bar, music isn't too loud. We really liked the strawberry & jalapeno, the pumpkin spice, and the salted caramel flavours. Delicious on ice or in a cocktail.

L.Awesome place, great cocktails! They change all the time so make sure you give it a try... Also if there's nothing on the menu that appeals to you they will try and make a cocktail just for your taste
D.Awesome drinks. Try the infusions. Really creative twists on cocktails. Food was nothing great, better to dine somewhere else and then come for the drinks. Try the Chai drink, and the balsamic fig infusion, those where the best from what we tried. Infusions are around $10-12 dls which are basically rum and gin infused with different things served on the rocks. Cocktails go for $16-18 dls and are more complex drinks made using the infusions.
L.Some interesting drinks that were really well made and thought out, but unfortunately they lack alcoholic strength, probably coz of the infusion..... to be expected I guess. There service is good; table service is a nice touch. Might try heading back when it's a little less busy.
C.Great little pub, but has changed since i went years ago. they no longer do the tomatoes on toast gin, which was amazing.

J.Mmmmm so good no matter the time of day. Whether your after coffee and a quiet moment, or a booth for Gins and Rums with friends C.G.R. has what you need.
C.G.R. boasts a fantastic range of alcohols, specialising in flavoured rums and gins. This makes for a cheap way ($7) to enjoy single ingredient cocktails that have the complexity of $20 drinks.
Go here and linger in salted caramel rum and enjoy showing off your good taste to friends.
B.The setting is nice and uncomplicated. There is something to be said about having decent elbow room to have a wild 'italian -inspired' conversation. The staff on the day we went were rather apathetic (but it was a Tuesday evening so..).
B.Easy to miss the front door! Great selection of drinks, great atmosphere, great staff. It's an ideal place to start the night, before moving somewhere else for cheap pints :)
