We came into town (Wellington CBD) on Saturday night for Matariki fireworks, but wanted something more. D4's "Beer & Pie July" sign worked! But $79 for 2 servings of beer & pie?? 😳 I'm pleased the pie pastry & filling with roast veggies was delicious. Good selection of craft beers

We had our team's Christmas lunch at D4 and the staff were amazing. We pre-ordered and the food came out soon after we arrived. The D4 burger was delicious, the crispy onion rings the star of the dish. Central location, very good food and staff were great!

Was lovely sitting on the balcony, the bangers and mash was awesome, a definite to order....... but the calamari was barely there, was only a small ramekin of frozen deep fried calamari with sauce, you could have held it in 1 hand, and no salad no frills. Was very basic for the cost. Do not order this you will be disappointed.

In the downtown of Wellington, great deal on Monday for Soon Grill two for one, ordered garlic bread, squid ring, rump steak by stone grilled. I like the squid ring, and garlic bread is very nice as well. Rump steak is basically on an average level same as other stone grilled restaurant. Overall, very nice atmosphere, decor. I didn't order their burger but I saw someone ordered it and it looks very delicious to me, will try next time.

Went with my friend and we both enjoyed the stone hot plate experience. I loved my steak - rare and closer to blue. Please be aware that the diner "cooks" their meat on the stone hot plate. Reasonably priced I say for 200gram prime cut with two choices of veges or chips or salad for $27. We also had two desserts, house special that was amazing! We should have just shared one but because of special occasion also enjoyed the creme brulee. We had an entertainment book voucher so enjoyed one main for free.

After taking the smallest badly positioned table cos it was the only one left in this extremely busy pub we were able to move before our meal came. Upstairs bar. Great tasty food and nice choice of craft beers. Staff very pleasant and helpful when I was deciding what beer to have. Was with a group of 14 and no complaints. Definitely would go back next time I am in the Capital city.

This is a more modern slant of an Irish bar. Also a great sports bar with an impressive projected screen and other tvs around the place to see the game. Food is wonderful and reasonably priced. I certainly recommend the steak open sandwich and the Loaded wedges. The hot wings are fine too. There is more to life than Guinness and Magners here, with many local and international beers to choose from. All of which can compliment the food well. Staff are wonderful and really know how to pour beer. They have won Guinness pouring awards and are great hosts to those new to town. All in all they have done well in ditching the stereotypical Irish pub vibe in favor of a modern pub with great Irish hospitality. No matter who you are, everyone can be Irish here.

Went for dinner. At the bar we were asked if we were in for drinks or dinner. We said we wanted wanted dinner and told to take a seat and someone would bring some menus. Got a couple of drinks and sat down. Waiting for some time probably about 15min and within that time 2 other couples came in and were served but we were ignored. Left after finishing our drinks to go somewhere else to eat. Needs to be a better system in place. Edit - changing rating, went back recently am service was perfect. Must have been an off day last time.

Wellington never fails in the food/drink department hence having to make it a must for the last couple of years, but after our recent visit it will have to became even more frequent all thanks to the amazing team or should I say family at d4 😉 spent 3 consecutive nights there (the entire stay) getting spoilt with the most amazing food/drink in a perfectly set up facility by the most entertaining and welcoming staff I've came across in the longest time!! I cannot recommend anywhere more we had an absolute blast. Thanks guys you totally made the trip 😄 🌹

Went to do for the first time in while for lunch, decided on the burger deal which was a burger (choice of karrage, beef or vege), side of hand cut chips and a pint for $25. I chose the beef burger and it was amazing, totally recommend trying it.

Delightfully friendly and helpful staff, even checking with the kitchen to find out the finer detail of the menu. The tasting platter of beers from the bar was an excellent facility, given the wide range of craft beers on offer. The barman was knowledgeable in helping select them. The food was good, I had the hot pot chicken pie, which was spot on and very filling. All up a very good place.

Great Irish pub serving drinks and really good food. We had the stone grill chicken and beef duo with mashed potatoes and the cheeseburger/fries. Garlic bread to start and ice cream sundae for dessert. I'd give the garlic bread a miss next time as it was just their pizza crust with some garlic and chives, interesting nonetheless. Otherwise highly recommend the others. The stone grill was a very cool and unique experience, chicken and beautiful filet served on a really hot slab of stone in your plate and you cook to your liking.

Never fails to impress. We had stone grill i.e. champions and surf n turf. The beef looks great and visually well prepared. Even with the number of times I've been here, it's still amazing how the meat is cooked and kept warm by those stones. The sides are well-seasoned, and the chips are crispy-as. On a side note, I commend the service staff. With a packed venue, they are ever-accommodating, pleasant, and quick to serve.

D4 is a great place to eat and drink in Wellington. They do a very good stone grill (a very hot rock on which you cook your meat how you like it). They have a comprehensive range of drinks and the service is good too. It has a good 'sports bar' atmosphere and is highly recommended.

Not a bad bar. It's nothing special. Beer selection is average and the table service for drinks is a little awkward... I'd rather just come up to the bar when I want another rather than have someone floating around. The bar itself is very spacious and it seems to be a popular spot for after work drinks, so if you're looking for a place, this could be it. The music was also at a pretty decent volume, you could still have a conversation without having to yell at everyone, which was a nice change of pace for Wellington.

Trendy bar that is right in the middle of the cbd. Friendly well trained staff that have quality beer on tap. There is also a wide variety of drinks available. Having stayed for a few beers here on a friday night this is a really enjoyable bar. Highly recommended

A great place to wind down after a busy day, or a great place for a general catch up/meeting over food and drinks. I am not sure if I can name names on here. A young lady starting with B. served us and her service was top of the line. She had a very welcoming, friendly manner and attended to our every need to ensure we were satisfied with our (delicious) meals. I will definitely be back and have already recommended this restaurant and bar mainly due to the excellent service received.

Bit noisy due to Christmas parties but it's that time of year. The mild wings were a bit hot for my son but they sorted out a kid friendly meal. Staff took time with some beer recommendations for flights. We also had a gin flight and we got explanations of the gin and flavour profiles.

I'm so confused by this Irish bar; in some respects w the patrons and hallway decor it's like being back in Dublin, but in the main bar area it's a regular sports bar... Although I do need to give them credit for their giant projection sports TV screens. Just generally loud and most, but not all, of their beers are run of the mill ones.
