Heard great things from my daughter. Haven’t been here, 55 might be a bit old. Would love a turn in the mechanical bull. Maybe one day.

Was a shame we visited during covid red light time. Was looking forward to the bull riding and dancing.

Came here on a Thursday night. Not super crowded but they have mechanical bull! OMG, how much fun. Good selection of beers and spirits, with constant western music blasting. Great venue for a fun night out.

Super nice staff! Its a bar with loud music, a lot of young people, party and a bull ride o.O The beer is pretty good tho and cheap (5,50 for half a liter, 10 for a pitcher). The toilets are very clean, pretty amazing for a bar at that location. Music is also pretty good, I would call it "all times favorite" with rock, pop and hip hop.

Went on a Saturday night and the place was crazy busy. Line outside was huge but so worth it. Mid to low prices for drinks compared to a lot of clubs in town. Music was great easy to dance to and lots of space to dance.

Staff were helpful. Interesting seats at bar like riding a horse. Good drinks. Would recommend going here at night in the weekend.

We go here most weekends or whenever we can really. Love the atmosphere, the drinks are well priced and of good size for the cost. The music is always banging and the staff are always lovely. I love that the bouncers remember faces and are very helpful when in a pickle. It's nice to go to a bar where I don't feel bad about going in alone and feel safe within its walls. Will always highly recommend.

As an American, I can tell you this bar is cheesy, but it's good for a laugh. They've got good prices and the staff is friendly. They only improvements I would make is to supply hand soap in the restrooms (especially with all this Covid-19 stuff) and Wi-Fi. Otherwise, it's a nice bar.

It was my birthday Free Bottle of Blue Nun. We had the most amazing time, that we went back the next night and had an even better time . love this place

It's a loud place with an electronic bull and a very crowded dancefloor. Might not sound like the fanciest club ever, but if you just want to party, drink and dance... it's the place for you! A Cowboy themed bar in windy Wellington is probably the best idea there is. It's always busy there and everyone is laughing, dancing and having fun. Great ambiente. Great idea. Great place. Recommend!!

Really fun night! Music was good and the mechanical bull was a giggle

Went to see local band Mighty Righteous at one of their regular gigs. The atmosphere was nice and intimate, with plenty of seating and tables to sit and enjoy the live music. There was also space for dancers to enjoy, which people definitely took advantage of. The bar seemed well stocked, and staff were competent and friendly.

Famous NZ Fish & Chips, plus some special sauce -Bulls Blood & Bullshit. 🇳🇿🐃💩😄😄😄

Had an awesome time down in Wellington. Went by myself, and was my first time in the bar. Met some good people and the music by the DJ got me moving and busting out some line dancing. 😂 Great atmosphere and great bartenders

Coolest place to party in Wellington - not pretentious and a great mix of other people enjoying the old-school rock classics and country music tunes. Weekends are a great party and the mid-week specials are some of the best you could ever ask for! Who doesn't love wearing a cowboy hat and riding a mechanical bull? :D

Recently used Jose and the team from Dakota to do their 'minute to win it' challenges at our Staff Christmas Party and it was a real hit! Great staff hosting the games and awesome concept to get everyone involved and having fun. Definitely recommend!

Great bar, especially if you love that Country vibe. Otherwise the music is mostly commercial club music but if you like it it’s great!

It's definitely a student bar but cheap drinks, decent pizza, cool atmosphere - we had a great time with kids in tow.

I was blind drunk when I went here, but I remember having a great time. Also love the cowboy theme, I wore so many cowboy hats that night. Great job!

Good athmosphere, great country music and cowboy hats and friendly staff. Although you really need to look after your belongings. Some strange faces tried to steal my jacket, but luckily security helped to settle the situation.

I don't even love country music but when you step into Dakota it changes you. Great drinks, a nice vibe, very fun there is even a bull you can ride.

Been there quite a few times. Staff are always friendly. Service is fairly quick (given how busy it often is) and great. Beautiful people tend to go there. Have even met the owner there once and he was quite a down-to-earth kinda guy. Highly recommended bar to go to in Wellington!! Yeee-Hah

Dakota Bar is an all round good time! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as a great vibe. Whether its a full on party with an absolutely packed dance floor on a saturday night or a chilled line dancing session on a wednesday, there is always so much fun to be had at Dakota. For me, the country music and bull riding really complete the package. Definitely recommend a trip to Dakota to anyone who is out on the town!! :)

You get a free hat...a free hat. I mean you sadly are not allowed to keep it but still. The music was not really country when I was there but still good. They had zubrovka vodka what I really appreciated. Would go there again!

Friendly service. Great prices on drinks but stay away from the food. Absolutely terrible. Horrific chicken tenders like really bad quality chicken nuggets... And we all know what they make nuggets from...

I come here every now and then. Always a good time with good company. The music is a bit iffy at times but I've had some banger nights here

Honestly have never found a place where I feel more at home, everyone slays and I feel like i'm a part of the Dakota family whenever I go. Don't know who I want to ride more the bull or the bartender ;)
