Reviews of Fork and Brewer
P.
The best brewery you've never heard of! We were fortunate to find this place on google and stopped in to try some of their beers and grab some food. They have so many different beers on tap it can get a bit overwhelming, but Rory the bartender was was super friendly and helpful, giving us great recommendations and advice. The pizza was also good, and they definitely have the coolest bar I've ever seen!
J.
Amazing experience. Staff were friendly, quick and attentive. A very wide selection of beers on tap and plenty of other drink options. My partner and I both ordered burgers. This was the best fried chicken burger I've had in Wellington! It was so good, my partner very much enjoyed his brisket burger as well. Good portion size and very well priced. Can't wait to come back on a nicer day and enjoy there deck seating as well.
C.
Tried their single hop mosaic which was recommended by a very friendly bar person. Yummy beer, fun space, good use of a 80s period building located at a cool intersection. Would recommend.
L.
Super awesome beer selection. Can pretty much get anything you want on tap and awesome to see heaps of unknown craft beer companies too. Food was very tasty and came out quick. Beers we had were super good too. Even has beer brewing in the back of the place.
A.
A bit disappointed with the beer and the food
Good things first
vibes and area are nice and staff are helpful and lovely
Cons!!
The pizza was a bit soggy and the chicken was taste like leftover
The waiting time for food was over 20 minutes
Not many options of food
The drink was a bit plain
O.
We booked our staff lunch at Fork and Brewer recently and they did a stellar job! The team at F&B were really responsive over the phone and by email. We had 25 people at the lunch and all our orders arrived in a timely manner. Our staff enjoyed the food and the drinks. Thanks F&B team for your amazing service.
A.
Awesome hidden gem that really lives up to its name. Tucked away upstairs on bond st here you will find a place where the craft beer is fresh & tasty, the food is well portioned for the price and moreish. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to all menu items.
I love all the different beer tap designs.
N.
This has been one of my highlights of wellington actually, the ultimate craft beer bar with 40 taps, with the most amazing, friendly, attentive staff, and outstanding food (we ordered the salt and pepper squid snack, and it was so good and fresh and cooked to perfection we ordered another).
The bar has great ambience, great music (literally 6 songs in a row I said "I love this song") and super cool posters of all the types of beer brands on the wall to look at in this craft beer mecca. There's plenty of seating outside, inside, leaners at the bar and additionally some 20+ very comfy booths so something for everyone. Even the bathrooms are awesome.
Nothing more to say really can't wait to go back!
a.
Lovely to return to this old favourite after seven years overseas. Great choice of taps, though I didn't have time to sample the menu I feel sure it's also an appropriate accompaniment. Friendly service too! What's not to love?
C.
Great food and beer! In the CBD this little place is tucked away for your enjoyment. The burger was very flavorful and it had to be eaten with a knife and fork because it was huge. They have an enormous selection of very tasty craft beer. Loads of seating and choices on the menu to suit what ever you are in the mood for. Staff is so friendly and knowledge about the whole process and the subtleties of each beer. Make sure u bring your appetite and thirst for this incredible experience. Don't forget to pick up a growler full of your favorite to take home so the experience is able to continue.
A.
One of the best craft beer bars I have seen, strongly recommend, friendly staff.
V.
Good beer, but mediocre food. Was here in 2015 and squid and pork belly were just terrible. This year in December 2016 I decided to try something simple. So, beef burger was OK, and squid (yes, again) was same terrible taste and it smelt like they cook it in a very old stinky oil. Sticky date cake as a desert was good though.
N.
Attendants were very friendly and hospitable. They also delivered our food altogether and without too long of a wait. The steak for the fajita wraps was incredible. The steak just melts in your mouth! The fish and chips was okay, and the calamari was a bit too salty but good with the drinks.
D.
Another fantastic visit to my favorite craft beer bar in Wellington. This time we booked out a table to celebrate a work function. Food is always great, service is fantastic and the beer selection and quality top notch.
M.
Holy moly, this is a beer lovers paradise! Not only is the range amazing, but the bar staff know more about what's behind the taps than anyone else I know...
Definitely worth checking out, I'll be back soon!
G.
I have nothing to knock it for what it is, so 5 stars it is. Nothing too wowing going for this upstairs, and very spacious bar and... Wait... I just saw the toilets and they have a keg sink. Okay, I take it back. Keg sink wins haha. One day I'll try more of the restaurant meals.
G.
Great beer and staff, the food's good too. They had run out of most mains due to a very busy evening but they looked after us and sorted us out 😁 Deff worth a look!
C.
Brewery and pub with great craft beer. The fish and chips were spot on but I was disappointed to have my burger served medium well after explicitly asking for medium rare. I was devastated that I did not get to savor New Zealand beef during my visit.
G.
The vast beer selection combined with awesome food makes F&B a no brainer, great friendly staff too!
S.
Amazing range of beers with a great, chilled out vibe. The staff were so friendly, funny and helpful. We were only in Wellington two days but we came here twice because of the lovely atmosphere, friendly (and knowledgeable) staff and incredible beer selection. I didn't catch the name of the girl that served us the second time (only that her eyeshadow was on point) but she was exceptional. She was as amazing and knowledgeable about beer as she was beautiful!
J.
Perfect for tasting a big range of crafty beers (strangely couldnt find the tasting tray on the menu!) - the food was pretty good too. A great place to hang out with mates any time of day. And interesting toilet furniture :)
D.
Sells Aspalls Cyder from Suffolk. I have found good coder and alongside Bach Life from Three Wise Birds is the best. They also have a great bar and a load of great real beers. Good place!
M.
Great selection of beer. Would come back more often but it's only good when it's quiet here. Loved here for ages but only pop by if someone wants to meet there. Shame as it's 5 min walk away from our home. The acoustics are atrocious, and you spend the whole time yelling at everyone you want to talk to, and come out with ringing ears!
S.
We felt like tasting a few local beers so went here.
Great friendly service. The beer selection is fantastic and the calamari was delicious.
I'd recommend this as a place to spend a few hours tasting some great beer. It's close to the local hotels and well worth a visit.
S.
Nice pub with a great atmosphere in the middle of wellington. It was super busy last Friday, but I'd definitely recommend it, and the staff behind the bar were great. The food tasted great as well, would definitely come again
C.
Enjoyed the whole rainy afternoon over there. Nice staff and great bar food!
E.
Absolutely love their yoghurt and brewsli. The taster trays are fab, I once had a Beer called hard pour corn! - it was actually very delicious. Quite like this place as they have booths, and an outdoor area. Quirky tap levers too!
A.
So good. Just the best place for a beer. There must be 50 on tap. And if you like sour beer...as much as I do, then this is your place.
S.
Lovely staff and really great beer selection.
B.
Rich beer menu and the best fries we had in NZ.
M.
I booked a lunch for my office and the communication with the staff to get our pre orders organised was legit!! So friendly, accommodating and polite! Made it super easy for me to organise the lunch from afar! I was jealous I couldn't attend the lunch as the food sounds delicious!! They have gluten free and vegan options which is always a win for me when organising an office full of people with varying dietary requirements! Wins all round :)
C.
Amazing beer selection, tasty food and very friendly staff
A.
I fondly remember the days of the loaded hog... This is a vast improvement. Nice times, good service.
G.
Not bad! Not bad! Actually really awesome! Heaps of good beer
R.
This venue has struggled over the years but Fork and Brewer have made it into a great success, turning it into one of the most amazing craft beer bars in town. Most of it is a huge selection of their own brews these days with a couple of guest beers thrown in for good measures. The place definitely hums and the staff are wonderful.
On top of that they do a wonderful selection of pub meals. We've eaten there a few times there and although not always consistent, on the whole we've definitely enjoyed what we ordered. This last time was a wonderful lamb shank pie that was to die for!
Definitely will be going back there.
U.
Great beer, good spirits, munchable food and reasonable service. With good pricing. Just what you need on a Sunday afternoon
J.
Nice selection of Fork Brewing beers, all made on site.
J.
Great place, nice staff and a lot off beer options, only did we choose all the bad ones I guess.
M.
A fantastic bar. Absolutely loved it. The food was great, but what sold me was the huge selection of beers on tap here. 39 of their own brews available. Tried a few different ones in here and took one home in a "flagon". Will definitely be back here next time I'm in town.
A.
Always a great selection of beers. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. If you like Craft beer this is a must visit when in wellington.
N.
A great experience. There's a fantastic range of beers available, the food was lovely (omg those jalapeño cheese balls though!) I had the beef burger and my friend had the vegan burger, both were awesome. But the best part was the friendly and efficient service - honestly we'll done guys you nailed it 😊
M.
Excellent beer, staff could me for friendly, they sell beer and there is nothing cooler than that!
S.
I’m not going to say anything new here, but if you’ve got people visiting Wellington who want to try some craft beer over dinner, you can’t go wrong here. Fork & Brewer is a perfect brewpub. Huge, ever-changing variety with a good amount of space and decent food. Can get pretty busy on weekends right after work, and make sure everyone has IDs!
H.
I wouldn't come here for the food, it's adequate and there is a decent range but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is okay, good lighting (not too harsh) but the tables are spaced in such a way that there's little in the way of privacy, and it get understandably noisy at times being so close to the bar area. All of this however is made up for by the excellent beer selection and knowledgable bar staff.
M.
One of my favourite brewery bar in Wellington. Very busy on Fridays. But nice and quiet on Saturday/Sunday. Lots of beers so talk to person behind the bar and they will recommend stuff for you to try.
A.
We’ve been coming here for awhile and the service has always been fantastic. Recently we’ve met an amazing bartender and server called Kane who is just incredible every time we show up. Best service and incredible craft beer, 100% recommend.
M.
Loved seeing all the tanks when you walk up the stairs. I got the Fork Flight $15, not to bad to get to try 4 beers. I really enjoyed their Low Blow Session IPA and Pitchfork Saison. Employees are so cheerful and great place to sip a beer and chill
K.
Great place. Huge selection of craft beer. Not enough time to try them all.
M.
Great selection on tap. Banging food.
More corporate clientele but don't that dissuade you. Just remember they've got the money to spend on the finer things
B.
Good beer and friendly service. It's nice seeing the brewing happening next to you, but I prefer bars with a more diverse range of brewers. I guess that's the whole point, it's beer they brew but I sometimes get a bit tired from drinking primarily one brewers beer. Plenty of taps though and the beer is good.
L.
Super friendly, allowed dogs inc(and gave dog treats!) great food, drink, I can't rate this place high enough
E.
Good selection of beers on tap. Good inner city balcony drinking. Some good eats too.
A.
Great food, awesome service and one of the best craft beer varieties in Wellington
H.
Great Beer Food and Staff. Hot Wings & Buttermilk Chicken were exceptional.
n.
Went there today with a group of 8 people. Great atmosphere Servers bartenders young hip, good vibe but acknowledging the customer goes without fail even if your with a another customer just a quick "hi I will be with you in a sec" helps it truly does. But for the beer alone I will be back. Good job over all. 👍
H.
Good range of beer. Nice food choices. Efficient staff.
N.
Great range of beers, food looked good. Pretty quiet - but was a Monday night
D.
Excellent bar. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about their >30 beers they have on tap at any one time! All of their beers are unique and from the ones that I've tried are very nice! Would highly recommend
J.
Friendly helpful staff and plenty of choice of awesome beer on their many taps
M.
Nice pub! Good burgers and tacos! Amazing beers
T.
Really good, great food and excellent beer. Get the sampler, they'll tailor it to the beers you prefer.
Service can be a bit patchy with coming round to make sure you have everything you need, but that's me trying to pick holes.
I.
Have been here twice now for family dinners and they are always awesome! Service is lovely and the food is always great and tasty!! Literally nothing bad I can say about this place, will always come back for a great time!
M.
Honestly my new favourite place is in the world Megan and jack gave us amazing service and I couldn't believe how cozy, comfortable and welcoming this place is.
Overall great service! Great food! most importantly great beer!
A.
Great place! Lots of beer on tap to choose from to satisfy the choosy craft beer specialists who love the hoppiest of the hoppy pale ales to the casual drinker like me who doesn't like hops much but doesn't want to only be stuck with smoky porters and stouts. Food specials for lunch and dinner on Mon-Wed. Margherita pizza was a little bland (shaking on a bit of hops salt helped). And fun music (mostly from my youth, so who can complain!) ;)
D.
Excellent beer range brewed on premise, staff are friendly and service well paced.
Consistent service over two days, so not a fluke. Craft beers brewed on premise are excellent and with a full range represented.
S.
Lane and Rory are amazing. So thoughtful. Will definitely recommend and return
A.
Massive craft beer selection. Good mix of their own Fork beers and guest taps. The beers are great and their sours are sweet. You can dine in for food but they shine with their beers.
J.
Awesome beer. Unfortunately couldn't stay for long.... next time.
J.
The burgers were okay. The chicken burger was just a bit oily for my liking. Beers were good tho. Service was meh.....
H.
Amazing beer choices (yoghurt and bruseli is my fav), big tables so great for group drinks. Can be kind smelly and the staff can get stressed out and overwhelmed, and the food is meh at best.
S.
This is one of my favorite pubs in Wellington. Awesome collection of craft beers on tap. If you there during happy hour you will get some good beer for $5 a pint.
A.
So far this pub has the most variety of beers and brew in city.
Perfect interior design, big area + outdoor smoking zone at balcony.
very convenient location as well.
C.
Doesn't try to be something it's not, it's an independent bar with a good sectioned off restaurant. Really good range of house brewed beers and their brewer is award wining. Pricey but reasonable for the CBD.
O.
The beer was amazing, generous samples of the truly-crafted beer. And the food! yum. I can't get over how perfectly the flavours were matched to the beer. Excellent service, nothing was anything less than perfect.
S.
The beer is lovely. The calamari looks like curly fries. The gents bathroom is very confusing to navigate but I think it's all good
U.
Awesome place for a nice craft beer. Awesome staff too
M.
Staff is always very friendly and helpful! There is a great selection of beer, plenty of space, and location is pretty cool as well!
s.
The best brew house in New Zealand. The staff are awesome the beer is fantastic the choice is second to none....... if you are a beer lover get your butt down there..
R.
Awesome beer, great venue. Think again if you set the 'I'll have one of each beer' challenge. There are so many beers with lots of different styles.
L.
The staff is so friendly — and clearly excited about beer. There is a broad selection of great beer. You won't be disappointed
J.
One of the best ranges of beer in Wellington. Staff are very helpful if you don't know what you fancy. Gif restaurant too. Lovely outdoor area in summer.
R.
Great pub, biggest selection of beer in town, you can get food here to. Popular during the week, reasonably priced beer, friendly staff. A must try.
A.
One of the best sirloin steaks I've ever had and I've had a few. Great wheat beer (produced in house) to go along. Superb by all measurements
M.
Great selection of beer. I had a burger which was nice enough, my wife had the pulled pork sandwich which she raved about. Deep fried pickles were great.
S.
Great place for a meal or a drink in the middle of the CBD, with a great range of beers on tap. Definitely give the chicken waffles a shot. Efficient and friendly service.
D.
Unrivaled selection of beer in Wellington. Good service, friendly staff, nice balcony for some post-work beers in the sun. I go here often.
j.
You want a selection of beers? Well this is the place. You can spend a couple of nights here and not drink the same beer twice. Staff will make sure you're never sitting with an empty beer for long.
J.
Great spot! Friendly staff, best fried pickles I've ever had, great beer selection, adorable park to lounge in, love the art and they way its decorated!
J.
Great beers, nice burger, excellent music choice.
R.
Extensive list of craft beers, can be noisy though.Definitely one not to be missed.
J.
Amazing atmosphere with wonderful staff. Food was outstanding and beer that is brewed right in the building. Best bar in Wellington by far.
O.
Wide selection of nice beers
C.
Just as a brewery should be
J.
Super tasty beer and staff were helpful. Didn't eat there but their food looked and smelled pretty good!
J.
Great place to try different beers. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
G.
Great beer selection. Food was tasty but felt the filling of the veggie burger was a bit mean. Hardly any haloumi!
C.
Very large selection of craft beer. Most brewed in house.
Food is great, too.
Can get busy on a Friday or Saturday night.
C.
Awesome ribs, even better beer selection! If you are a fan of sour, saison, or Belgian styles they have an enormous selection to pick from.
A.
Just popped in for a cheeky lunch time beer and snack... Hot Wings and Buttermilk Fried Chicken 😋👌
