J.One of the best bars in Wellington. A diverse menu that caters for most different dietary requirements. An incredible vegan cheese burger and loaded fries. Wide range of beers from all over the world. Great traditional pub atmosphere and they allow dogs. Semi regular gigs.
A.I was in the city for a few hours by getting lost (as per usual) I found this place. What a jewel. Good vegetarian options. The hazy IPA should be a must of you're into beer. Nice homely atmosphere. Really cool staff too! Highly recommended.
M.A convivial place for a beer with a great selection including bitters and darker ales and, if course, the usual mainstay paler ales. The hand-pulls are a welcome bonus.
A.Beautiful decor, vibrant atmosphere, charming staff. The food and drinks are fantastic as well but the ambience that's buzzing but somehow also sets you at ease is what makes this place for me.
The beer selection is of course exceptional, but with a solid local wine list, great snacks and mains to back it up. The burgers are particularly noteworthy but I recently had chicken bites and mac n cheese, which were also great. Although it can be rather hard to get in sometimes (or to find as it's tucked away at the back of a laneway), the popularity is only a marker of how good they are!
Definitely a favourite, can't wait to go back!

K.A great little place tucked away. Good selection of beers, great starting areas and a good vibe. Definitely one of the best craft beer places to visit in Wellington. I will be returning. Also allow you to sample beers before you commit to buying. The bar staff have good knowledge of the beers and ciders on offer.

R.Aweome hidden gem in Wellington. Off the beaten path and a wee bit hard to find. The main entrance is actual around the corner from the Google Map address.
An amazing selection of beer and the bartenders definitely knows how to recommend a proper drink. I’m a fan of MOA Tripel Savvy, which they were sold out and recommended the Craftwork’s Good Lord. It was definitely on the pricey side, $25/bottle, but damn was it amazing.
They have a great selection of beers on tap along with a small selection of liquor. I didn’t get their food, but it sure looked delicious.
J.The service and beer was good. Unfortunately the cheese burger was a big disappointment. Too much mustard meant it was almost inedible. Fries were supper salty.
J.It's all about the beer really, which is good and varied; the food is just ok. I had lamb salad and some chips which were not the best value.
Atmosphere is really good. My gripe was that I prebooked a table weeks before for 11 people and we were squashed onto some small tables sufficient only for 8 max. Fortunately the people on the next table shifted purposefully so we could have more space which was kind.

P.Cool vibes in this place. This little enclave had good background music and a beaut decor. It's a great place to ha g out with friends as the ambience is light, the mood is warm and the music is soft enough to be able to chat lightly with 😊

E.LBQ stocks the rare and possibly finest ale in the world, the Trappist Orval. That goes great with the two for one pizzas on Tuesday. Environment is laid back and furnished like a gnome infested abandoned gentlemen's club, almost shabby-genteel. I'll have another Orval please...
V.Cosy little bar. Good atmosphere even under level 2 restrictions. Staff are friendly and know their beer.
N.A hidden gem. The locals obviously know where to go as it was packed! Loved the stout brewed in Wellington.

T.LBQ is always a delight. For me, one of the most genuine pub feeling places I Wellington. It isn’t attempting to replicate a British pub or anything else. Just a good place that likes its patrons and is liked in return.
Always a solid range of beer, including a couple on hand pull (primarily from bladders rather than casks in case you still maintain that dream).
The burgers are seldom a disappointment.

m.Very cute spot, lots of food options, including plenty of vegan ones! And you can get your own water without asking anyone, which is very helpful. Unfortunately the whole time I was there, I could smell cigarette smoke coming from outside, which came from doors on both sides of the bar.

J.One of my favourite bars of all time. Great beers, great food, vegan and veggie options are top notch and everything tastes amazing. Staff are lovely and helpful when you want to try new brews. Two for one mains on a Tuesday is too good to miss out on, and they have a pizza deal on a Monday.
L.My favourite little spot in Wellington. It has a very English pub vibe in the sense that it's super chill and it's just like being in your own living room (except with a bar with lots of beer and way more people) beers are always changing so it's always exciting. The food is 10/10 - its one to visit for a spot of food and a drink. Shout out to the staff, always been super friendly and welcoming. Mwah,!x

R.Quirky place down a side street, typically pretty busy with people having a drink on a Friday. Decent selection of beers on tap, if you like craft beer then there's something for you. There's a couple cosy bits of seating too.
J.Had a team 'lunch' here. Really enjoyed the selection of beers on tap, catering for all tastes. I prefer a darker malty beer and there was plenty of choice other than the usual pee colored hoppy abomination.
Food was great, we had a table of about 8 and were fed very quickly at lunchtime with some diverse eating habits including vegetarian and just plain old fussy. Very filling and extremely well priced lunch. Will definitely be going back!
N.Great beer selection and the 2 for 1 mains and pizzas made it a bargain. Pizzas had interesting ingredients, not the norm. Very tasty.
Downside was slow service because partly of no Paywave. Also one guy jumped the queue because he knew the server. Not impressed. That same server was not exactly warm and friendly. The rest of the staff were fine.
R.Unfortunately we went with our sleeping child, it was early afternoon though, and there were only two other people there the whole time we were there. Still that is probably mainly our fault. Having said that we sat in a couple of comfy chairs when what I assume was a giant, rabid badger started trying to get in by scratching on the wall. We moved away from the badger which turned out to be a staff member, only to have the legs being shifted and dropped one on to another and complete with much door slamming. The beer options were largely mundane but save bay couple of aged sours which it is a real treat to have available. Service was only ok. There are some much better options available like choice bothers and rogue and vagabond
A.Love this little hidden away beer lovers corner , tucked away in a alleyway .. tthe beer selection is awesome and the staff is pretty cool too.
M.One of my favorite hang outs in Wellington. They always have amazing, not widely known beers on tap, and an excellent selection of bottles as well. The food is quite tasty, especially their veggie burgers, which are giant. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. Highly recommended.

R.Truly fantastic selection of craft beers, in bottles, in cans and on tap. Also really great pizza's and the 'posh' chicken nuggets are awesome. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Plenty of indoor and courtyard seating and a function room that can be hired out.

S.One of my favourite beer spots in Wellington. Slightly hidden away down an alley means less foot traffic and punters. Great beer selection in the fridge and rotating taps. Always some sort of event on making this a one stop shop.
R.If you like bars with a focus on great beer you won't be disappointed. No TVs, lots of taps and space to spill into the alley all make it worth a visit. It's kinda small, and it's off the main street - backing onto a car park. This is either a negative (the car park is a bit unsightly) but in my mind keeps it quieter. It's easier to feel you're off the beaten path.
M.I strongly advise that you don't visit this amazing icon of the Wellington pub scene, with it's strong representation of delicious craft beers. Please don't go, I think you will hate it as it will become overcrowded and ruin it's unique ambience for us who have accepted it just how we line it. Also the staff are fantastic and I don't want you stressing them out and loose the time to hang out with us like that of old England born again in NZ.

U.Flew in from Napier this morning, had already sussed this place on the website prior. Quwerky little beer pub tucked away. Had $10.00 lunch special of fish & chips. Excellent value for money and plenty of beers to choose from. Neat atmosphere but come early if you want to eat, this place filled up quickly, must be a popular place to hang out. Will be back next time in Wellington.

C.Awesome spot to try a few beers. A perfect day is catching the last of the sunshine, a beer in hand and enjoying a Pizza. LBQ does all things well. Also great to take advantage of the 241 Tuesday or cheap Thursday lunches.
N.Great food and variety of draft beers. Easy going atmosphere, can be a bit noisy. Keep an eye out for the two for 1 on Tuesdays. Pizzas are also really great!

L.Quintessential Wellington craft beer bar. The focus here is all on the beers - they have a great selection of bottled and tap beers, really friendly staff who encourage you to try before you buy, and quirky decor which somehow adds to the whole experience rather than detracting from it.

A.A neat little beer bar, tucked down a side street, LBQ is a great place to meet friends without compromising on your personal beer quality standards. Knowledge staff and an eclectic range of seating help you feel swiftly at home, and the excellent food is more than excuse enough to come here all by itself.
B.Great craft beer bar located in a laneway off from main roads. Comfy couches, and outdoor area make for a good year round venue. always lots of good beers on tap.

S.LBQ is popular, and crowded at peak times. They have a dozen taps of craft beer. The decore is homey and cluttered. It's not my favorite, but I know more than a few people who like it more than I do.
K.Came here for their burger during Wellington on a Plate. The burger was sensational! Great flavours and a perfectly cooked beef patty. The experience was really let down by the poor service. Nobody greeted us and after awhile of sitting at a table, realised we probably needed to go up to the bar for anyone to acknowledge us.
