Reviews of Peoples Coffee Constable Street
전.
very calm spot, but coffee is amazing.
I belive that Best flat white in wellington,
Always creamy and velvety milk foam on the cup, the coffee beans combination with milk is so gooooood as well.
I love here, and most of the staff are doing nice job!
M.
Lovely shop, really bright and open. Really nice people running the place and some pretty tasty food. If you're a coffee fan this is the pace to be.
H.
Brilliant café, and super dog friendly - our pup loves sitting on our laps while enjoying their fantastic long blacks!
M.
Wonderful spot with great and diverse guests. Nice enough staff and good pastries and bites. Minimal setup that's cozy but gets crowded or full very easily.
Would be a 5-star if it weren't for the lack of consistency.
Coffee is hit and miss. It seems to depend on the barista's mood as to whether they'll actually clean the filter basket before grinding off a new shot into it. Shot time varies wildly too, but they get served anyway.
A real shame since they've got the equipment to make every shot perfect. (La Marzocco PB, a Mythos 1 and a commercial digital Portalfilter scale)
Not exactly a barista's delight, but it's the best in Newtown despite it. It's people's coffee, coffee for the people. And that, they do well!
A.
Amazing coffee and friendly staff!
H.
Definitely feel comfortable to stay here, simple but arty creative characteristic atmosphere. Young truly friendly stuff offer you welcoming service. Recommend it to u, have a try to feel the lifehood in Newtown.
C.
Great coffee here, they've got it down to a fine art.
A.
Coffee was nice but a bit pricey!
H.
Very good coffee, as expected. Very good latte art, as usual. Very good service and friendly barista. The cafe has all types of seating - high chairs, low chairs, outside seating. They charge $0.20 for takeaway cups, but bring your own cups and avoid paying those extra. They also serve toasties with homemade almond butter or Tumeric butter and also had special spread which I think was some spread made of pinto beans. On the cabinet they offer pastries (unless they’re all sold out), cookies, slices and other sweets. Oh and they also had chocolate from Wellington Chocolate Factory. Certified organic coffee beans available as well. Overall very good cafe outside central district.
K.
Coffee is the focus here and they certainly take it seriously. Full range of beans to purchase. Friendly service.
S.
Was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Will be going out of my way to return soon.
M.
Excellent customer service and fantastic coffee and cheese scones
J.
Well made coffee and a funky interior. The actual blend of coffee used in the late wasn't my favourite, but that is subjective. It was really busy on a Sunday so you might struggle for seats.
B.
This cafe established my love for coffee with the selection of single origins. It's been a reference ever since. How could it get any better? It did when I drove past with a coffee craving at about 4.30pm one day - they have extended hours (open till 5pm 7 days a week!). I always find myself looking for a park when I drive past.
M.
Amazing coffee! Their almond croissants are the BEST! X
D.
Amazing coffee! Not much choice in food (just some simple pastries etc. from cabinet) but that's not why you go here. Good location just off main street with a little bit of outside seating if you can get it. Probably not best place to take kids, but great for a coffee and a chat with a friend.
D.
This place just has great coffee. It often looks busy but the baristas are amazing and get the coffees out pretty quickly. I walk past at least 4 other coffee shops just to go to this place. There is seating indoors and outdoors. You will often find people with their dogs sitting outside which is nice. I've never been bothered by the dogs and there has never been any aggression shown by them either. Just nice doggos out with their nice owners. They also have a variety of food in the form of almond croissants, cookies and some sandwiches. If you like good coffee check this place out.
A.
Delicious filter coffee, cheerful hardworking staff. Love
M.
Amazing coffee. Hosts a mental health coffee group on Wednesdays. Kind staff and warm environment.
M.
Good quality beans. We tried Colombian single origins and they taste like magic. Friendly staff. Sadly no V60 - only batch brews, but that's not uncommon in NZ.
M.
Best coffee I've had so far in NZ. Food and service was great too.
C.
Consistently the best coffee in Wellington. Nice little selection of pastries and sweet delights to go with it, cool setup and great staff. Have been going here on the weekend regularly for a while and will continue to!
G.
Staff have great attention to detail and the place is always buzzing. There's even a small box of toys to keep the interest of children. My big complaint is ventilation. With the front door open, the smoke from the array of smokers outside almost always wafts in.
C.
Great coffee, one of the best roasters in Wellington. Nice pastries from Leeds Street Bakery. Comfortable place to sit and have coffee. Good if you're in the neighbourhood but a bit far to come from the CBD.
R.
First time to visit Peoples Coffee from a recommendation and I was not disappointed. Great coffee and eclectic ambiance
C.
Great cafe, excellent filter coffee, tasty toasted ruben sandwich, cool hipster aesthetic (no Wi-Fi)
N.
Has a friendly and interesting atmosphere, great coffee, and so many bean varieties to choose from for your own use....
N.
Amazing coffee, good selection of light snacks. Good place to chill and do a bit of work. Only downside is they don't have WiFi or readily available powepoints.
R.
Nice people, nice coffee, reasonably priced. Just, the venue is pretty tame I don't think it's very comfortable and not very interesting decor.
I would TOTALLY recommend this place for its coffee, but as a place to meet and chat, not so much.
I.
Not much decor or anything, but very straight to the point. I'm guessing it's mainly takeaway coffee which works fine. The coffee was good and that's pretty much all there is to say
T.
Our favorite coffee shop during our week in Wellington. Great single origin filter coffees with care and attention to the presentation and to the space.
K.
Cool place to stop in get a coffee before going to work, cool staff and friendly and and give fast service.
b.
Loved the ambiance, even with people around, it has a calming atmosphere. I loved it!
D.
Good spot to have a chill morning. Great coffee.
R.
Ordered a small latte. Great taste. Straight forward cafe layout, makes sense for takeaway only.
S.
This place is a little gem. If you can find a seat you will be treated to the People's Coffee flavours that were intended by the roasters just around the corner. The staff are friendly and this coffee shop is certainly a local meeting place, just as a coffee shop should be.
A.
Not going to lie - Peoples is the only coffee we love to the degree that we chose our office space based on how close we could get to a Peoples cafe! Stunning Coffee, Great People, The best.
R.
Friendly service, good coffee
W.

D.
Peoples Coffee is one of the best in Welly. Always try to get a coffee and toasted sandwich when I'm here. A+ service too!
T.
The pioneers of Wellington fair trade coffee. A vibrant community cafe in the heart of Newtown. This is where People's Coffee was originally roasted (their roastery it's now in the street behind). Great coffee and tasty counter food with a kind heart.
J.
Super delicious oat milk latte! Thanks. You’re my new favourite. 😍
C.

E.
Really excellent coffee, even by Wellington's relatively high standards, and lovely, stylish decor.
P.
Best coffee in Newtown, gentle staff. They roast and sell their own coffee. You can buy aeropress and other coffee contraptions from Peoples too.
L.

Coffee is great and so are the staff and service.
P.
Great coffee. Good takeaway food. Great Croissants.
J.
Best coffee in wgtn. And NZ. And it's fair trade. Been traveling in Europe for 2 years and only place that beats people's is Italy
D.
Good coffee. Weird atmosphere. Not sure I felt cool enough the day I went here. Must try harder.
M.
Great coffee but too expensive for a cup. Similar coffee shop down the road @pranahcafe (still people's coffee) a dollar ($) cheaper.
C.
