E.It's a good Local. Clean and nice tables, covered out door area, good food options for both pub food and salads. Nice variety of local beers. Great for casual lunch times as never overly crowded at that time of day.
B.We used the family room for a function . Great as a few children. Food was what l would call " good pub food" . Varied menu , comparable prices, well presented and hot. Would certainly go again
J.We were staying at a B&B, and this restaurant was recommended. We ended up pulling up, luckily we parked on the street on the way because as we walked up there was no parking available in their small lot.
The mirrored doors leading into the place was different.
We walked in and there were a few patrons, mostly drinking or playing billiards in the back. A staff member finally came out of the back and took a guy at the bar order. We were then seated after he was finished.
We ordered the fish and chips and the lamb shank. I assumed the lamb shank would be tender, fall off the bone. But it was tough. Didn't taste particular fresh, but then again I am not a normal lamb eater. I was not a fan. Barely any shallot taste or shallots. Found what looked like to be a regular onion slice. The green beans were canned or frozen, or they were parboiled before hand.
The fish and chips came with a small salad. No malt vinegar, only white vinegar that the other server brought out. Husband liked their tartar sauce and tomato with his fish. The fish tasted really fishy, which fish should not taste fishy, it should taste like the sea/ ocean. It should be a fresh flavor, not a lingering fish taste.
Staff were friendly and the fireplace was warm. The food, I could pass.
C.Staff are funny and easy to talk to, at 5pm they were walking around the bar handing out FREE homemade sausage rolls, that's enough to bring me back to the More Local!
A.Just discovered this place. Nice atmosphere, good food and good staff. The waiter, Brayden is the nicest person and so accommodating.

M.Down here for lunch. Good choice of food and good cooking and a nice Guinness even if it is from the can. So good I had two. The dinner menus looks good so booked a table for this evening. It's quarter finals night.

B.Like anywhere when they're busy parking close by can be a problem. OK menu selection but depends on which cooks/chef is on duty as far a good meal or just average meal. Mainly local crowd, can get very busy although have been there at times and there's been hardly a soul about.

S.Spacious local Tavern. We had fish and chips for a meal, and it was good. I did see a chicken curry being returned as the customer said it had no flavor?? Service is pretty good. Nice warm relaxing venue on a cool day.

S.So much fun and bar staff were awesome. The band was brill and the bar manager was wonderful at being super kind and friendly but balancing her managerial responsibilities and ensuring us patrons were also responsible hoorah!

R.A well kept secret! Fabulous friendly staff, super quick service and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Generous portion sizes and oh so delicious. Highly recommend the apple and berry crumble! Definitely worth a drive to Strathmore just to try this place out. Great value for money too. Even the ladies was clean, large and beautifully presented. Wonderful 🙂

L.Zoe our waitress was excellent. Our lemon honey and ginger drinks were watery, spring roll entrees were still frozen in the middle. Fish of the day and steaks were cooked to perfection. Very noisy in the dining area with kids running around, difficult to have a decent conversation.

B.It's a classic local pub that has an above average selection of dishes that are cooked and presented fantastically. Its exactly as you hope for without overreaching - we go here often for family dinners where the family ambience is important - not a focus on the food (which is delicious).

A.The locals like to give this place a hard time but I've been about a dozen times and I've liked all the food I've ordered, the prices are really good and it's a great comfortable place to watch some sports. It's also never too busy and they have a really fun Pub Quiz Night
