Lunchtime service is excellent, the staff are very attentive and it's quiet enough to actually have a conversation. The food tastes amazing, my only criticism is that I wasn't able to quickly identify dairy free options on the menu. Possibly a larger font would have been helpful as well, since the lighting is fairly intimate.

Hi Folks. This should be 4.5 stars. The Wife and I went here on Friday 24th September for dinner. The only downside of the meal was, I don't like parsnips or beetroot. And they were the roasted veg. BUT the steak I ordered was cooked perfectly. I did suggest to the waitress to let the chef know it would go well with the garlic mash and cabbage, The wife had this with pork.the staff were awesome and very helpful and happy 😊

Nice yummy Roast Chicken dinner, but the Roast Pork option was rather dry. Luckily there was enough gravy provided to enjoy it. The free drinking water however tasted quite foul.....

Went for dinner Easter Monday night and had amazing meal for 2 for $49. We chose the roast pork instead of the whole chichen and for dessert we had a Sticky date pudding with caramel sauce and a chocolate cheesecake included in the above price. There was more than enough main meal to easily feed a third hungry adult or a couple of kids. Excellent friendly staff. We will definitely eat here again when next in town.

The Featherston is a pretty reliable place, not fancy and not the pitts! It's got a pretty decent food selection and atmosphere and I quite enjoy going there, especially if it's off the cuff with no booking.

Great place, great beer selection albeit a tad expensive ($12.50 for not a pint of craft beer) but on Fridays they bring round free nibbles for the post work drinks. They have a TAB and a good spot to watch the pony death show if that's your thing. The food there is good if you're popping by for lunch. Recommend.

Great location in Lambton Quay. Nice sports bar type atmosphere and well set out bar & restaurant including TAB facility and Gaming Lounge. Was pretty busy. Served nice snack food that was a little different than the norm...like a bowl of cheerio's, tasty sausage roll slices & spicey chicken nibbles. Yum. Quick service too.

A lunchtime favourite in Wellington. The food is filling and well priced, the service is always prompt and friendly. There's a good variety to choose from, though the burgers are excellent. It's centrally located and there are a variety of places to sit, from small and cozy to large, for groups. Often it is quite busy during lunch, less so for dinner. They have a good range of beers, too.

Good! Met immediately once I entered. It was Monday so quiet which was fine. Ordered the rib eye steak which came cooked perfectly medium rare as asked for. Just a little cool inside on a cold night overall but a nice fireplace inside

Staff very pleasant, the prawn starter with dips was very good. The beef cheek pie, the gravy in the pie was watery...pastry and topping excellent, and the beef just melted. Overall, not bad, just the gravy in the pie was a letdown

Walked off the street in on a Saturday night with my wife and 3 under 5 year olds. Staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating! Colouring books, recommendations for food, cleaning up as we went and most importantly - turned on the rugby before kick off! 😊 Food was very nice - much higher standard than your usual pub grub and very well priced too. Will be back on our next visit to Wellington - thank you!

The service was fantastic. We were there on a busy night as there was a NZ game at the stadium. They allowed us to phone during the day and place our order so it would be ready at a specific time. The portions were a great size and everything was delicious

I've been to this pub/restaurant before and had such great service and lovely tasty food I had to go again on my next visit to Wellington. The food was fabulously ymummy just like before. The girl serving me however made me feel I had to hurry up and get out even though there were open tables. I believe she saw me as an inconvenience in her day. Also I she sat me in a dark corner and another staff person came and asked if I would like the light on after he saw me trying to read a map. Marking lower for this girl staff's poor attitude.

Food was great value, huge portions at very reasonable price and everything on the plate was faultless, we had the smoked ribs with creamy peanut slaw and jacket kumara, It was all amazing!! Service was fast and friendly. Great drinks list too. The place was packed due to a Warriors game at Westpac Stadium so all us fans were there having an amazing time. We will definitely be back here next time we are in Welly!

Great pub after work on a Friday - lots of atmosphere, good place to talk, fantastic range of excellent beer, non-intrusive sports on telly, and best of all a manager who cares for his customers. Be sure to be there for nibbles from the kitchen, including the battered cauliflower!

I really like this place - great atmosphere, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy, the service was fast and friendly, the prices were very reasonable, and most importantly, the food was great. The bar manager even cruised around with a platter of nibbles for people to try - I had a deep fried cauliflower and it was delicious. People at my table ordered the Venison Burger, special ($18.50), the chickpea & spinach fritters with pomegranate, yoghurt & avocado oil dressing ($11), and the 250g Primestar Rib-Eye Steak with garlic butter, green bean salad & steak fries ($29.50). Even had room for dessert, which was a delicious Warm Chocolate Brownie with mandarin confit & crème fraiche ($7.50). All in all, a great experience. I will definitely be going back there.

I have been to the Featherston numerous times over the winter and spring of 2017. The food, drinks and service has always been excellent. The new beef cheek pie and peas is to die for. The fish'n chips, steaks, lamb pie, fish pie and pan fried fish are also excellent. They have an very good assortment of craft beers. I particularly enjoy the Black Duck porter, but the Panhead Supercharger is also to be recommended. The setting is rather typical of a traditional British pub. This place can get rather busy in the evenings Thursday to Sunday, especially with the gray haired set. There are several large screen TV's usually showing rugby matches.
