Yummy sirloin 2 for $30 steak dinner !!😋 The Chicken Rice Rissotto was also nice. So was the salmon mains. The standout mains was the Chicken Cos Lettuce Salad at $19.00. Such a large size serving!! 😁 Great attentive service by our young Chinese waitress named Jess!!😀

Visited this place on the weekend and ordered their 2 for 1 steak. The steak was perfect, the chips were crispy and salad and sauce compliments the steak. Very nice place and good service. Finished the meal with cold glass of Lemon, lime and bitter.

Wellington Bar & Dining area. We went for tea & a drink. As a bar at 5.30pm was very busy & noisy. However there was a good selection of Tap Beer & the food menu was varied with a good lot of options, pricing was ok. Our food order was delivered well presented without a long wait & was enjoyed by us all. Check it out when you are in Wellington.

Swings and roundabouts here. Arrived at 1pm on a Sunday for lunch. I’m a fan of businesses that let me reserve a table online. Garlic and cheese loaf and Korean chicken bites for starters. The bread was excellent – hot, crisp and cheesy. The chicken bites were dry inside and out and needed sauce to bring them back to life. Mains were Quesadilla’s and fush and chups. The Q’s were met with approval but the fish was dry and the chips lifeless – dish lacked effort though the fish was a good chunky thickness. Just killed twice. Towards desserts – again up’s and down’s. The key lime cheesecake was a winner, but the chocolate sundae had just enough chocolate sauce so it could be seen through the glass, and no more (I lost the photo). Probably will go back coz the BLT looks like it will justify the trip by itself. The FOH waitress was very pleasant and professional.

A great place. Stopped in at 4.30pm Friday. Bustling and noisy, with busy, friendly staff bustling around. An excellent pub experience. We found a spot to sit with two delightful locals. Their food choices looked great and mouth watering.

A very popular, traditional watering hole in the city that has good promotional events while providing a venue with a soul. The range of classic and new beers is a plus and the staff are happy to share their knowledge of the products. Very popular place for a few pints and a catch up with mates. Together with the NZ Venue app the service is slick, contactless and time saving.

A great burger for Wellington on a Plate. It was enjoyable and satisfying, no denying that. Would it win the challenge? No, it wasn't extraordinary. The establishment itself was nice enough, if a little loud. If you're looking for somewhere quiet, this probably isn't the right spot. Due to a combination of peak hour busyness and lack of order/skill on the waitresses part, it took a while for our order to be taken but once it had been, service was fast.

Definitely one of my favourite places in Wellington for a meal, informal work meetings, or hanging out with friends. The atmosphere and service is superb, the quality of the food top notch, and the menu is very affordable for what it's on offer. Highly recommend this establishment for a visit!

This restaurant and bar is in a great location on the Wellington waterfront. On a Saturday afternoon in late summer it was definitely popular based on the number of patrons enjoying both the outdoor seating and the more traditional indoor seating. The interior is beautifully light and open, with high ceilings and unique historic architectural features owing to its heritage. The staff appeared well organized as they efficiently worked through the continuous line of patrons. Everything seemed tidy, despite the hive of activity. The service was polite and even with the level of demand the kitchen and bar were no doubt under our food and drink arrived in a timely manner. The food was tasty and matched the description of the menu. We ordered the cornbread and the sticky Korean-style chicken bits and found it tasty. The only point that I would raise in regard to the food is that we saw limited options available. Those they had were more leaning towards what I would loosely call "bar food". Things like different types of fries and other finger food/shareable type items. There may have been other menus for dinner or breakfast but I didn't see them. Overall we were happy with our experience of a social place to stop for an afternoon snack, with a nice atmosphere and greet location. It was two minutes walk from the Te Papa museum and maybe 10 minutes walk from the Beehive.

OMG! This was the first restaurant to order your Menu digitally. You scan the QR code which gives you the menu and specials, select your order, pay it using your credit/debit card and you just sit back and wait for your order to arrive. Very cool and we didn't have to wait along for waiter to serve or take order. Highly recommended 👍

The Old Bailey is an excellent place to meet friends for a good chat. The atmosphere here is great. I really enjoyed the food and the customer service was brilliant. I highly recommend the Fish and Chips here. The hot chocolate was exceptional. This is a good place for a large group of people to have a nice dinner or after work drinks. The Old Bailey is directly opposite the Supreme Court which is the Highest Court in New Zealand.

A piece of constructive criticism, if you are going to reprimand/teach staff about what they did incorrectly, best to do that away from the customer. Went twice with a group. Ordered garlic bread and 400g steak with a cider. All food came out at the same time as requested. Server was great and had the right food to the right people quickly. The steak was cooked to perfection and salad was very well done with crisp and fresh greens nice dressing. Fries were crunchy and fluffy on the inside. Cider was cool and fresh. Both times visited I had the same order. Steak $38 cider $7 Good place will go again.

Had an awesome brunch here with the family on my wife's birthday. Big serves, delicious food, good service, lots of big screens with sport if that's important to you but sound kept off so others can ignore it if they want to. We were running late for our reservation and they were very accommodating, let us slide 30min without any drama. Will definitely visit here again.

Downsides: - The restaurant was noisy at times - The burger was a tad cold - The knives were slightly blunt ... These were the only criticisms we could come up with for our experience at The Old Bailey and we were really trying to put our reviewer hats on. We booked a table via First Table and even without the discount, the food here was very tasty and filling for the price. We ordered the Calamari; OB Burger; Bangers and Mash; and the Onion Rings. We were very impressed by the flavour of the burger, but the highlight was the Bangers and Mash. Very very delicious. The Old Bailey can get a bit loud at times being a restaurant/pub, so the dining experience is more suitable for groups than a dinner for two. But all in all, we enjoyed our evening and will definitely return with more hungry stomachs! 5/5

This is a great central city bar for a drink before heading home for the evening. Gone are the days of the 6 o'clock swill, but now we have the 6 o'clock curfew! Also a great venue before (and after) any big game at the Cake Tin. I'm looking forward to trying a lunchtime or evening kai. The smells from the kitchen are very enticing.

We didn't have to wait and the waitress was attentive and chatty. The eggs benny was a little average. The eggs were cooked well but I think it was let down by the ham/bacon. Not quite sure which it was. Beer tastes exactly as you would expect when mixed with morning toothpaste.

I like their build your own brekkie in the morning however they got my order wrong both days when I dine there - ordered sunny side up but got given pouches eggs or didn't order toast but got served toast, nothing biggy, food are very tasty, if can have a bit extra care around food ordering would be great. The Old Bailey is the Irish pub of all Wellington Govt workers, inside this pub you can share stories over a pint or twelve, snack on a lovely lamb shank while talking shop, or try to impress your mates by being rejected after hitting on your hot co-worker. The old Bailey is a Wellington institution, and it's not going anywhere soon
