Always awesome meals, every time! This time we went to celebrate my little sister's 18th birthday party as a group of 8, and they had made us the biggest, richest chocolate cake as the dessert for our table. We had a great time!

Definitely a locals spot. The food is basic meat and potatoes with a few seafood choices. Not bad overall and the chef delivers decent flavors. My scallops were fresh and cooked perfectly but a the faux Asian sauce was a little much. Our server was very friendly.

I have to grade this on a bit of a scale. It's small town NZ, not central Sydney, so expectations have to be realistic. The local crowd want a good feed, so the focus is on value and portion size. In that sense, the Quarry Burger succeeded admirably. It was huge. Too big really. The flavour was decent, with the bacon, onion rings and chicken fillet all tasting good, though it lacked the interesting sauce combinations you find in a superior burger. Again, for the market it caters for, it is top notch and I have heard it is very popular with the locals. The "special" dessert, sticky date pudding, was simply a heated up Aunty Betty's pudding with a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream, which would have annoyed me in a "proper" restaurant but just made me smile. I was pretty disappointed though, becuase nothing beats a properly made sticky date pudding. My wife enjoyed her chicken filo which came with a quite large salad. The garlic loaf was also quite nice. The young lady who served us was friendly and helpful. Overall, decent pub grub.

Good selection of beers and friendly staff. We were able to take our drinks into the garden, which was pleasant. Kitchen was closed due to a bereavement, so we didn't eat here, though the menu - pub food - did look good.
