Seafood chowder was delicious and filling. My mate loved his triple cheese burger and said the fries were perfect. The Mrs enjoyed her onion rings. The order at the table system was quick and easy.

Amazing service and food. Thanks team for giving us some delicious pub meals and drinks. Always generous servings and friendly staff. We had salt and pepper squid, loaded chips and a smittys burger.

The temple of awesome cocktails and delicious grease 👌👌👌 I think, the prawns+steak combo is the best thing on the menu. Enjoy the drinks, food, semi-quiet music and ridiculous horse names on display. Open late.

My partner and I went to Smittys on Saturday night and Smittys was the first place anywhere I’ve been to since this traffic light system/pass system, who checked my ID as well as my Vaccine Pass, side by side. Awesome to see, great staff and also amazing band!

Friendly staff, multiple screens playing a variety of sports, nice nostalgic sporting memorabilia, gambling facilities in the back, serves food, provides free wifi and has a happy hour from 3-6:30pm which makes drinks very cheap all in all a nice place centrally set

Nice service, great environment, good food. But if you are vegetarian and gf there are almost no options.

We ended up here by complete chance! And how glad I am! Cookie & Matt were so nice to us, being complete tourist's. We loved Frankie's secret sauce messy wings and ribs, Matt changed the channel on the tv to watch Sydney FC play & made a lovely espresso Martini. All the best ❤️

On our campervan travels we stopped in beautiful Whitianga, we decided to go into Smittys Sports Bar for a couple of drinks & a snack & we arrived just in time to play bingo which was awesome fun. The food & drinks were exceptional, the place had a lovely warming atmosphere along with the lovely friendly staff, we will definitely be returning on our next campervan adventure.

I had calamari with salad and chips..couldn't eat the chips and salad..far too much salt..I would go back but ask for no salt to be added...my husband had a mussel pot..which he devoured.

Just a classic sports bar, with gambling machines, reasonably priced beer. For me the lack of a premium lager rated the place down. Was full to the rafters so people obviously liked the place. Loads of groups of youngsters which was great.

Great service. Was relatively busy for mid afternoon on a Saturday. Ordered 2 salads, came quickly and were delicious. Other meals we saw come out looked great.

The placed rocked, nice clean bathrooms, good band... although limited choices in RTD's. Service was good at the bar, however would have liked more selection of top shelf RTD's. Cool place though.

They were so kind and worked with us as we have gluten intolerant children. The portions were big, the staff was friendly and the beer was ice cold. Loved it, we went twice!!!

I really love the bar. Staff was soo friendly. We have ordered pork ribs and steak it came with chips and coleslaw. The quantity and quality was really awesome. Bar was busy. Really enjoyed sitting there with a cup of beer. 🍻. Will be back surely.

best bar in whitianga nicest locals by far (not like the fake irish pub down by the water) great staff watch the footy bang on a bet or sit out on the deck and watch the people go bye never had a bad nite there met some funny lovely buggers and one or two lovely ladies best bar in whitianga.

Cold beer and good food with A1 service

Good choice to go here..had the Surf n Turf and Steak meals. So tasty and great local atmosphere..next time we're in Whitianga will do again. Cheers from Akl

Had a couple of cold beers which were lovely. Two of us shared the Angus burger which was delicious and so were the onion rings. The staff are very friendly also.

Burgers 🍔 are good as are the fries 🍟.

Quite pleasantly surprised. Range of drinks very good. Food quite nice also. I had the Asian Beef Salad which was a generous serving at a reasonable price.

OK bar food and drink. Better than some more expensive places in town. I had chowder and it was tasty with good toasted bread. Beers are cheap on happy hour too. Typical NZ sports bar atmosphere, a few gaming machines and screens for the geegees and dogs.

FRANKIES was an excellent pub nice and sunny and comfortable with multiple viewing screens covering g different sports codes, we had a counter lunch. My steak was cooked to perfection and washing down with a selection of lovely ales made it a great lunch or dinner stop. Very convenient being in the centre of whitianga. Didn't take any photos, too busy stuffing my face with their yummy food.

Good sports bar atmosphere with cheap pub food and good beer on tap. Outside smoking area was fully self contained so inside didn't get all gungy and stink of smoke which was good. Worth a stop for a quiet beer and some fried food

Rugby world cup quarterfinals. Good crowd and atmosphere. Plenty of screens and set so viewing was excellent from all areas. Generous wine pours and food was good value, megasize burgers

The bar was fine, loved sitting outside to watch people go by. Not high end though. Would like to sit outside without a smoker behind me.

Nice pub style food. Good prices, good portions. I had the fish burger which had gurnard. Nice burger. Kids had a burger off the kids menu which was a little bland... just a beef pattie with tomato sauce in a bun. It could've used lettuce at a minimum.

Called in with my man for a quiet drink and chat. My first time visit and was very impressed with the young staff member who I dealt with. Lovely feel and we came back for dinner very nice and price was acceptable

A real sports bar. Ashame the smokers are at the entrance as you walk in. Lights are very bright and for me hasn't quite got the cosy, ambiance feel to it.

Good sized meals, friendly staff. Had a good bottle of wine. It's a sports bar, but if you want a good plate of bacon & eggs or spare ribs l can recommend.

Salt n pepper calamari over 'fried' and too gluggy, calamari salad was overpowered with dressing. The men enjoyed their steak sandwich and beef burger respectively. No background music at all but service was good and friendly.

I'm not sure why people would rate less than 5. Awesome ambience, great taste, courteous staff.. Well!! What more do you need. Plus you can enjoy pool table with your buddies. A must visit if you're around.

We went for a good old kiwi style fish and chips before heading back to Auckland and we got it. The place is a retro style bar but plenty of screens to watch the rugby. Good place to stop for a feed.

Great little spot to eat out whilst away in Whitianga for the weekend! Pub kai at its best! Showed the game whilst we were there. Definitely go back if we're every up there again!

Had to question why they would not accept i.d from overseas and only opt to site passport. Like who wants to carry there passport into a pub. On asking what the reason was they simply replyed we are not fimiliar with overseas i.ds....it is a popular tourist destination. Maybe implement a system. Other then that a awesome pub with great entertainment.

I had the scotch steak meal for lunch, swapped the veges for chips, salad and egg. Absolutely enjoyed it. The salad was super fresh, chips yummy and tender steak.
