Nice place, definitely worth a visit. Food was superb and the waiting staff awesome. Plenty of vegetarian options. The margarita was spot on!

Awesome experience- would have given them 6 stars if it was an option 😁. Even though it was pretty full they found us a seat and had our drinks sorted within a minutes. The food was fantastic (my favourite were the fish taco and the duck taco) and the staff were attentive. We’ll be back!

Excellent service and great food. The best calamari in the world! Great Quesadillas, Rib-eye steak and Churros, we enjoyed it thoroughly. Unfortunately we had to pass on Margaritas, as we had to hit the road for a long drive, but it's highly recommended place to go to when in Alexandra.

Decent mexican food. It can be better. Very pricey as well. Staff are very friendly. No complaints for service, however food itself doesn't work for me for some reason. I have tried many different dishes here, to give it another chance, but so far only burrito has been good enough, but that was too pricey ($18, so more expensive than a foot long Sub) anyway. All in all, I think you may enjoy this if you're a massive fan of Mexican cuisine, otherwise for a trial run you may be left unimpressed.

I love the calamari here! Always wanted to try the ribs but didn't in case they were messy... THEY AREN'T! Finally tried them the other night. Dad and I shared them and they were great! Fresh food. Good flavours! The spicy xhips are good. Dad doesn't like anything too spicy so the ribs and calamari are perfect for him! The chicken salad is also amazing.

We came here at 3.30pm for lunch, and were relieved the kitchen was open and the staff were happy to have us. We had various tacos and nachos, which were fresh and tasty. There were a lot of vegetarian options which was a relief.

The food was truly amazing. Probably the best steak I've ever had to be honest. Service prompt and attentive and a fab selection of margaritas. So 5 stars. The only downside is the acoustics. The restaurant was pretty full and we were a table of 8 people. You couldn't properly hear the people sitting even across from you. In the summer you can move outside but the winter will be a challenge. Maybe some acoustic panels or something? Apart from that - top marks on the menu!

Taco Tuesday is a must, 5 dollar tacos! I'd give the jackfruit taco a miss but everything else was extremely enjoyable. I'll definitely be making sure I've tried them all before I leave Alex.

Very cool Mexican theme restaurant. I love Mexican food and it was a nice surprise to stumble into Amigo's here in Alexandra. The setup is very cool. Made me smile to see the sombreros on some of the tables as we walked in. Ordered some tacos, rice, beans and Sol's and we were set. The food is awesome. Really nice flavours and quick service. Wait staff were attentive and friendly too. Finished with a nice strong coffee. Awesome. Nice to find a restaurant with a difference and enjoy the fun and flavours that it inspires.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants we've been to in the world. We ate there twice in a five day stay and loved it. The food was exceptional quality and taste and the cocktails were amazing. I'll be dreaming of coconut margaritas for years to come and their Espresso Martini was unlike anything we've tried before. It was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly as well.

Always the best customer service. Prompt and friendly. The food is really delicious. All of the meals are tasty and well balanced but the stand outs are the mushroom and fish tacos. The wee chef is amazing and makes everything extra delicious and she never has a day where the food is sub-par, especially compared to the other amigos and even better than taco medic in qt. Definitely will be returning.

Great food and a wonderful dining experience. Easily catered for gluten and dairy free. Reasonably priced and a great location. Had a small mishap with an incorrect order of my meal but management quickly sorted it and apologized with a free dessert for my family! Great job guys, we'll definitely be back again next time we're in town.

Lots of gluten-free options available (ask for the gluten free menu). Servers are friendly. You can choose to eat outside (and you can avail of sombreros for a fun way to stay sun-safe), or there's also lots of room indoors. We ordered 4 different tacos. We loved the flavours of the lamb and prawn option. One taco is good if you're quite a light eater, but I suggest at least 2 to 3 if you're quite hungry. Hopefully we'll get to try some mains next time.

Deliciously satisfying, Taco Tuesday was an added unexpected bonus, we didn't even notice the knives and forks until the tacos were completely demolished, great for adults and for kids. One of our children won't do spice but the chicken quesadilla has him coming back... YUM! (•‿•)◉‿◉(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Good service and bloody great burritos - Amigos is on the expensive side for sure, but is certainly worth it for the free home made hot sauces (be sure to ask for them)! We enjoyed our wine, burritos and a bit of a sit in out of the wind before retiring back to our tents whilst on our bike packing adventure along the Central Otago Rail Trail! Would recommend (PS. check your accommodation for a $10 dine-in discount voucher).

The food and service was amazing, I really enjoyed the "Plata Combinada", the various meats were so tasty and cooked to perfection. I did the "death wing challenge" (hot wings) and survived however I have a feeling the chefs went easy as they probably didn't want to kill any tourist. Lol.

Replacing the old post office, I was rapt to see perhaps the best restaurant in cromwell spread to my hometown Alexandra. Striking the perfect balance between the exotic spanish-mexican culture and being accessible to anyone. Excellent food and drinks, with a broad range of meals available - I especially recommend their nachos and quesadillas, though be aware these are not huge servings. Certain elements of the menu are somewhat lacking, for example the chicken wings and fries taste quite weak, but if you know what you want they offer fantastic food for very reasonable prices. Not many large tables for large groups, but perfect for couples or families on a night out, or even just for a drink after work.
