This has been my favourite meal to date in all of New Zealand. My partner (meat eater) and I (vegetarian) had the chef's special, plenty of wine and their custom unique negroni and we practically had to be wheeled out of the place. The portions were massive. If you're going to order the chef's special, no need to order anything else. As it is, you'd be lucky to have room for dessert.

Brilliant Service, Fantastic Dish and very reasonable price! Definitely a recommend!

Best dining experience ever, incredibly diverse, loved the seafood, plenty of creative flavour punches! Such a special memory of a dining experience with family, trust the chef was a great option! Couldn’t have imagined a better meal thanks to Steve the head chef and his happy team. Service was amazing. Thanks so much for our unforgettable time and experience.

Excellent food & beverage, great service, and cool venue.
Food standouts were Waygu Tartare, the Scampi Agnolotti, and the Tiramisu (which was prepared at the table). The cocktails were fresh, well balanced spin offs of classics. And, our waiter was very personable and attentive.
One of the best dining experiences we've had in NZ in memory.

Best meal we've had in ages!! Food was absolutely divine. Service was great. All-round stunner, totally recommend. The tiramisu is constructed in front of you and is amazing.

Delicious food, drinks menu, ambience and refined service. A great experience and wouldn’t change a thing. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in NZ.

10/10, possibly 11! Lives is to all the hype. Food is amazing, and service even better! Vanessa is an absolute asset, really knows her stuff, and made our night! Cant wait to go back!!
L. W.
Excellent food and service.
We had to come back the next day for breakfast..and well worth the drive ..Tom's omelete was my favorite.
Thank you we will be back

Fine dining Italian style, the food here is extraordinary. I had trust the chef and since I dont eat meat or poultry, I thought it might be a problem for them but it certainly wasn't. My first course was a fresh Bluff oyster with a mousse of frozen rhubarb and it was divine! Every course was a wonderful surprise, and lots of the food is locally sourced. I thoroughly recommend.
K. H.
Best restaurant ever, I struggle to eat with a unfortunate garlic allergy, the chefs were outstanding, beautiful food with flavour that was out of this world! Cannot rate this more highly, my husband can also recommend the tiramisu which was created specially at the table! The Terra Sancta Chardonnay was superb 🇮🇹👏
K.
Absolutely beautiful meal - fresh and well crafted. And service was wonderful too - very informed and helpful without being pushy.
I’d recommend reserving so you get a good spot.
Pictures don’t capture the delicious flavors but give you an idea.

5 star tiramisu from @aostaarrowtownnz on my quest for the best.
Perfectly balanced textures and flavours.
Yum + showmanship = masterpiece.
Light and delicious marscapone, with just the right coffee flavour. Salted caramel ice cream added a new dimension to this traditional dessert - that and the beehive shape for a kiwi twist.

Some of the best food we've ever had. My husband and I had the Chef's Choice menu and were absolutely blown away by the quality of every dish. Incredible food, great service and one of the best dinners we've ever had, anywhere in the world.

As I said to friends "a small town restaurant with a huge personality!" This wee gem was on my dining wishlist while we traveled the Otago region and I was not disappointed. The venue and service were most excellent but the food was decadent and exquisite. Cibo delizioso 🇮🇹

This place was recommended to us by a few people we met around Queenstown and they weren’t wrong. The menu is short, but has some beautiful dishes. The crayfish polplette was good but the pasta was amazing! Great wine list too.
M. F.
Food was okay. Great service. The extraction system, however, was so poor the entire meal we were dying for fresh air and left smelling of cooked food. Dining in a smokey space was awful.
c.
Great atmosphere and fantastic service. Our group of 4 ordered a pasta dish each as we wanted something light. We all agreed our meals were ok but not amazing. Flavour was lacking.
J. E.
Aosta is incredible! Worth the trip from Queenstown. So great that I ended up ordering two mains because I couldn't choose! One of, if not the best Italian restaurants in New Zealand! If I come back to Queenstown, Aosta will be top of my list!

Truly fantastic food. Flawless. The best tartare I have ever had. Excellent service makes this one of NZ's best restaurants. I can't wait to go back
G. T.
Amazing food, can't even find the words to describe these dishes. Highly recommend going and experience it. 👍👍👍
S.
Excellent place to discover local food cooked as an Italian style ! Definitely a restaurant to go if tou stay around Queenstown, far away from the crowd and in a such beautiful small town ! I recomand, as i tasted a lot of Parisian gastro restaurants this one win it’s place !

This was truly a wonderful restaurant. My wife and I had food off the ‘trust us menu’ on the night of the 8th May, and given it was a late Saturday booking, the staff were amazing. I can’t recall the gentleman who was our waiter for the evening, but given we were pretty keen to wrestle control on a few choice dishes, him and the team duly accommodated us and the food was simply divine. The only problem was that we couldn’t fit it all in! We traveled in NZ from Oz for 2 weeks and this was the best restaurant by far, even compared to nice establishments like Botswana Butchery in Queenstown. Well done and thanks for the team in creating a magical evening and an unforgettable memory of our trip to NZ! Bravo

This restaurant is a MUST!
There’s a reason why Aosta earns such rave reviews. You simply cannot go to Queenstown without heading to this superb Italian inspired restaurant in the heart of picturesque Arrowtown.
Celebrated New Zealand chef Ben Bayly has put together a superb menu inspired by local, seasonal produce. We headed there recently with a rowdy group of 16. The meal and service was faultless.
Embracing a wonderful Italian vibe of sharing food and having a great time we enjoyed dish after dish of superb food. The staff were amazing and encouraged our enthusiasm for the evening.
And if you’re lucky our NZ icon, Sir Micheal Hill, will make an appearance. He's an owner and when we were there he charmingly introduced himself as Michael Hill. The voice is unmistakable and of course someone in our group added ‘jeweller’. Only in New Zealand!
You will love this restaurant whether visiting as a group or as a couple but be warned! The menu is so TEMPTING I would recommend going with friends so you can experience a good selection food from this fantastic menu or just keep revisiting.
This is an incredible slice of New Zealand at its best. This wasn’t our first visit to Aosta and we can’t wait to dine there again.
I highly recommend you book ahead of time.

We loved the meal so much we went back the next night and ordered the same meal. The steak is to die for. Lovely staff and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend booking as it's a busy place.

This place is amazing! If you don’t understand the menu then google it and don’t be put off!!
We watched many people who were not able to read the menus at the front and walk away. Their loss!
T. M.
Excellent restaurant! The food was beautiful and very yummy, the service was great too. We had our kids with us (aged 6 and 9). They don't have a kids menu which wasn't a problem for us as they had a couple of pasta dishes which our kids loved. Thoroughly recommended!
V.
Amazingly good. Careful about ordering too much!

Outstanding service by all staff. The waitress Jessika was amazing and I made some food spots down my front which another waiter had seen and promptly came over with some soda water and napkin to help me out with cleaning myself up.The chef spent some quality time to talk to us as well which was awesome to see. The food was absolutely amazing as well. If I had to pick one dish as a must it would be the reconstructed tiramisu
J.
Unbelievable food and service, I would place this restaurant in the top 3 restaurants in NZ
R. V.
10/10. Superb experience from Start to finish. Well laid out space, excellent service. The food was top notch, with the ravioli and Tiramasu were the heroes on our table.
Jessica you and your team are world class, we loved our wee Eskimo 🙌 ❤
I will so be back

Many of the reviews on here talk about how great the service is but we found the opposite.
We were ignored by all the staff and left awkwardly milling around by the entrance when we arrived.
After a few minutes, the barman took pity on us and told us to have a seat at the bar while he found a waitress, so we hung out next to a bunch of uncleared plates and watched as one of the waitresses finished the critical task of filling up more water jugs than they have tables and eventually came over to speak to us.
We then waited for her to bring menus, waited for her to come back to take a drinks order, then waited some more for her to grab our drinks.
For reference, there were 3 wait staff looking after 5 tables.
At this point, it’s 25 minutes after we arrived and I’ve finally got a G&T in hand (one from their cocktail menu with marmalade in, it’s super tasty). Maybe things are looking up.
We were wise to the speed things moved at now so we didn’t make the mistake of letting the waitress escape before placing our food order. We’re on a roll.
And then the kitchen joins the game and starts smashing it out of the park!
The food is INCREDIBLE!
The focaccia is exquisite.
The beef fillet is superb.
The unknown purées and sauces are good enough that I’d happily have eaten them for dinner on their own.
There’s some kind of oil/glaze/drizzle over everything that’s making me grin uncontrollably. It’s epic.
Then boom! Main course is over. It’s back to awkwardly trying to make eye contact with the waitress to order another cocktail and dessert, being ignored and eventually having to resort to ambushing her on the way past. Bit of a dampener.
But finally, the kitchen kills it again, a different waiter comes over and reconstructs a deconstructed tiramisu on a potter’s wheel in front of us, and the espresso martini is to die for.
Overall a mixed bag.
Top tip: order like you won’t get another chance!

Great place for food drink and atmosphere, 10 course meal was fantastic

We had a fantastic meal. We shared dishes and they were all wonderful. We especially loved the slow cooked Te Mana lamb shoulder and the Tiramisu, which was constructed at the table. Wonderful service, excellent value and a most enjoyable night.

What an amazing restaurant!
Clean, fresh and vibrant, with an open kitchen and amazing staff.
From shaved puau pappardelle, crusted lamb, beef cheeks and venison tartare, the food was amazing, the service was on point and the flavours were spot on
Sam the chef was amazing, and doing 'trust the chef' with him was a culinary adventure I must recommend to anyone trying the restaurant! The food was filling but didn't leave me feeling to lethargic, and i kept wanting to try more! Brilliant wine list, and the aperitif is a must.
For a romantic meal, or just a good meal with friends this is very highly recommend! Well done to the team and well done to the chef!!

On our last night in Queenstown, JIULIO -establishment manager welcomed us with open arms , great knowledge of wines and food to help with our selection. Chefs are creative, talented professionals creating meals of Italian cuisine utilising local produce ,amazing.
Thank you. Owners should be proud.
L.
Amazing food, no wonder they have the front shop on the main street
H.
Best meal we’ve ever eaten! Amazing dining experience. Our waiter, Julio, was flawless and we couldn’t have asked for more. A perfect night.

Previously the Arrowtown Saffron restaurant. Still very nicely done. Food is superb. Great range of wines and pleasant staff. Comfortable settings and easy to have table conversations. I found the blue cod gnocchi amazing.
B. D.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening - attentive service, great setting and delicious food. Highlight for us was the kina pappardelle with Stewart island Paua. Ocean flavours balanced and textured by confit yolk and soaked up by the excellent pappardelle.
P. M.
Absolutely brilliant in every possible way. Aosta is a must for every discerning traveller. A delectable menu matched with the kind of wine list that dreams are made of. Get there.
S. G.
Fabulous meal. Went with a group and had a range of sharing plates. Calamari with beans and steak with pea puree both delicious as was the tiramisu to finish
M. G.
Unbelievable food, fabulous atmosphere and amazing customer service. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with an evening at Aosta and were treated to gorgeous cocktails, wild duck ravioli and the cutest dessert! Besides this, they do the best steak ever and have a way with vegetables that has to be seen/tasted to be believed. Hand on heart, why would you eat anywhere else?
S. P.
Wow.
Amazing food and sensational service. Make sure you're hungry if you're going for the set menu as it's a good amount of food.
H. P.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meals, some of the tastiest dishes my partner and I have had period.
Staff give great service and the atmosphere within the restaurant is incredible.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This place is fantastic. Best meal I’ve had in Queenstown and one of the best in NZ. Everything was really well done - duck meatballs, sardines, lamb shoulder and truffled whipped potatoes that were so light ;)
Highly recommend this place. Awesome service just topped it off.
Just wish I went hungrier.

Best meal I've had in my entire life!
J.
Unbelievably amazing food and incredible staff! The best meal I have had in New Zealand! Thanks Aosta for making our celebration so very special. Impeccable. Everyone should have Aosta on their must-do list for Queenstown. Impeccable.
A. J.
Aosta is an incredible experience - the food, the wine, the staff!
We had a hard time choosing but settled for Foccacia, wagyu tartare, lemon sole gnocchi, heirloom tomato salad and red deer meatballs.
To say we had a hard time choosing a favourite is an understatement.
Every mouthful was met with looks of 'are you kidding me?!' and then back for more.
The heirloom tomato salad was a generous freebie gifted by the chefs but so well received as it complimented the gnocchi perfectly.
It was night of a couple of larger parties so we were served by the chefs, but this only added to the evening - being given a further insight into each element of a dish by the guys who made them certianly enhanced our experience.
Ending the night with an intro to the lovely Canadian maitre D who chatted with us about 'her boys' (those being the chefs) and then moving us across to the blue door Bar for cocktails, this evening will be one for the books!
E. S.
Faultless.
We trusted them and they delivered a beautiful selection of food with matching wines. Table service exceptional
K. P.
Delicious food, the kingfish crudo and banana cannoli were definite favourites. Thoroughly recommended if you’re around Arrowtown for dinner. Lost a star for the slow wait service unfortunately - the only aspect that needs some work.
A. L.
Beautiful food and service! Everything was delicious, we left nothing on our plates! We had a wonderful, memorable evening thank you 🙏
p. W.
Awesome experience was had here, amazing food, ambiance and wine and definitely have the tiramsu that is made at your table, Julio was a great host
L.
Wonderful on every level. Incredible food in a smart but laid back setting. Worth the visit!!
E. F.
Delicious food and great service - outstanding dishes were the venison cheeks with very smooth and flavoursome potato mash, osso bucco with creamy polenta, game meatballs and oh, the focaccia - we had two serves of that most delicious bread! The mushroom and goats cheese tortellini was generously filled but perhaps a little too cheesy if there is such a thing, and there could have perhaps been some more of the delicious pasta in the paua pasta dish but overall it was an extremely enjoyable experience for our family of 5. Thank you, we will be back!!!

Service was fantastic. The best Italian fine food I ate. Awesome Tiramisu presentation. Buon pranzo!

Sensational evening at Aosta Monday 15th July. Warm welcome and attentive service, food was perfect - standout dishes paua and octopus. Tiramisu service was a fun way to have dessert and absolutely delicious. Wine selection well curated. Will be back with friends. Can't wait.

Amazing! My only “complaint” would be that the service was too quick, and the experience was over in about an hour... First world problems
