P. K.Excellent service and great food lovely lunch with family from Chch. Table of 6 well served outside as I'm on a mobility scooter. Hope there is going to be room inside for us in the winter as we would definitely go again if table can be set down stairs.
K.Fantastic experience. We had a table of 21 people and the waitress Jessie handled everything with ease. The meals were delicious. I had the southern chicken burger.

T. W.Was here for a friend's celebratory dinner recently. There was a group of approximately 30 of us - booked in advance. No pre-orders taken, just order from menu when seated.
Often this situation makes me anxious, especially since we'd driven from Christchurch for the meal. I've been part of many group bookings and ended up with HUGE wait times, and/or terrible food.
Not so with Armadillos in Ashburton. Their management was top notch. We could choose from the full menu, rather than being limited to a set menu list too.
The wait staff were genuine and friendly, they regularly checked in with us for drinks top ups. The kitchen staff rocked it too!
The food came out promptly and was delicious, and well-cooked. We were stuffed by the end of the meal, and walked away really happy with our experience.
What makes this more stunning is there was apparently ANOTHER large group on the other side of the restaurant and we still had a great experience!!

S. W.My family and I had a great experience at armadillos. Our waitress from Australia, which we think her name tahlia, was fantastic, friendly and attentive. She made an amazing espresso martini, and she went above and beyond to make our experience great.

S. A.A well presented restaurant with plenty of space in two separate areas, formal dining and Cafe/bar.
Good food options, mains are typically in the mid 20s, but we were all happy with the food that came out.
Service was a little slow at the start, but it was mother's day, however a couple of staff needed to put a smile on to fix the level of service.
We'll definitely be back!
W. S.Stopped in at the tables outside at lunch time just for some water, and menus were supplied. I decided to order a cappuccino, and then because my partner and I were so impressed with the wide selection on the menus (extra sheet added to the normal menu) we ordered a Japanese Teriyaki Chicken to share between us. The cappuccino was excellent, and the meal rich in flavours and presentation.
The service was excellent too. The manager who took our order was pleasant, jokey without being rude, polite and helpful; the waiter who delivered the order came to the correct table - both times before ours and ours. This my partner commented on because neither tables had numbers and the waiter was not the one who took the order.
An all around stylish pub/restaurant that has tidy and looked after toilets as well (doesn't smell, clean, warm/cold taps, Dyson hand-dryer).

Live music is played here frequently from bands and is always packed so you know it's a great place. I rate this 8/10 as the wallet doesn't appreciate it but if you're after a one off 10/10
