My favorite Indian restaurant on the Shore. Service is great whether you’re dining in or takeaway. The butter chicken sauce and garlic & cheese naan is delicious 🤤

Super delicious food with beautiful presentation. The manager named kulvinder always put extra effort to serve the customers. Highly recommend, one of the best restaurants🙂

A little disappointed with 8848 in recent weeks. Decided to dine in with family and even though the restaurant was very quiet, we had to wait over 1 hour for our meals to be served. Got some takeaways a few weeks later, ordering our favourite dishes however the food was average at best, not up to their usual high standard sadly.

A nice place for a quick lunch. A good place for business lunches too. Food is priced quite reasonable. Service is good. Clean bathrooms. Ambience could improve al little more. The restaurant manager Ms Kulwinder made sure we comfortable.

Excellent Indo Chinese food. We took our mats and took the takeaway to nearby takapuna beach and food was perfect for the atmosphere. The spice level is good and dumplings were more than perfect. The chutney was great too. Overall good value for money. Would highly recommend. I would revisit for sure.

Tried this place on a recommendation from one of my friends. If your a big fan of indo Chinese cuisine then this place will not disappoint. Got the chicken fried rice and chilly chicken dry for a takeaway. Taste was just awesome. A bit on the pricy side and takeaway quantity is not great, but if it's quality and flavour your looking for, you will find it here. Lots of other interesting dishes on the menu...must try again soon.

Food is great, a close match to food we have experienced in India. Normally I don't order paneer in NZ as it is never as good as you get in India. Though the paneer at bolliwood if perfect & fresh. Would order again, definitely worth dining if you have the opportunity.

We were expecting the old Indian restaurant we went to many years ago and got this newer, better alternative. Delicious food and fantastic service. Lovely, fresh flavours - the dishes don’t look or taste like they’re full of added colours. We’ll certainly be back.

Food was absolutely amazing!! The staff are lovely to deal with - so friendly and obliging. Had a beautiful impromptu dinner with my daughter (who absolutely loves the food!) and it was a very nice setting, lovely decor - and the Garlic Naan - WOW!! Possibly the best I have had in a very, very, long time. Thank you to the lady who served us this evening (front of house manager) - definitely going again THIS week. Pleasantly surprised by this place! The food was very good and there was a good variety of different cuisines. Some Indian restaurants serve curries that are all 1 flavour and creamy. But not this place. Each dish had its own taste (spiced well) and they all looked different too. Highlights for us were the Chennai Express and Bhindi. Sameer was a delight, treating us like family as soon as we walked in. It would have been nice if the menu indicated what the house specialities were.

Very nice Indian restaurant at a very convenient location. The food is really nice and tasty. The staff is very patient and attentive to one's requirements. The ambiance is nice and well maintained. The menu is well varied and decently priced too. Quality of service is great and always in acceptable time limits. Parking can be a bit difficult since there are only 2 parking spaces for the restaurant outside. Nearby on street car parks make up for that though. Overall very highly recommended.

As Takapuna residents we enjoy a very good selection of Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian and Indian restaurants - this was the second time we ordered takeaway meals from 8848 and our feedback is that the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Bindi Masala were two of the best Indian dishes we have tasted - we would highly recommend the food at this restaurant and will include these dished in future orders.

Had take-out in late March 2021 that was fantastic. The help was very friendly and the food was delicious and plentiful. Looking forward to returning!!

Absolutely loved the clove lamb curry.nice soft lighting great staff.were left to have a nice relaxing night ,maybe a little more attention ( ask if we needed more water maybe more drinks )but definitely go back for more tasting of other curries

The service was a little slow but the wait was worth it. Simply the best naan I have ever eaten, stunning rice cooked to perfection. The 2 main courses were divine. And the sizzling platter for 2 was quite outstanding with chicken that melted in the mouth Will definitely be coming back.

New owner. Good when he started but now going down hill. Food was really good. Lots of talk about how well it will be. Will change name soon but Sam needs to be there to keep it going strong. Lady on front counter is very good. Other staff need more training. If they do not pick up the pace and good food it will not last.

Most authentic Indian curries with nice balance of flavours unlike other Indian takeaways and restaurants where they serve fatty curries. The food takes time probably because they cook it fresh and definitely not microwaved.

On the 4th March 2014 I ordered a simple butter chicken for delivery. They had my address and had delivered to the address before. The order took an extraordinarily long time to arrive and I had to place about half a dozen phone calls to be told that "it was on its way". Long story short it arrived just over half an hour late. The garlic naan was terrible and tasted plain. A complaint to the restaurant elicited plenty of hand wringing but had to be pressed to make some sort of amends. The manager mumbled something about a discount on my next order which I thought kind of strange given that the likelihood of me placing another order had diminished substantially! I decided to give them another chance this evening and the manager had no recollection of speaking to me, to their credit they did honour their commitment that they made on the previous order.
