T. S.Indian restaurant in Ellerslie. A real gem of a restaurant. Can't fault any aspect of this place. The food was delicious, fresh and tasty and the service was very good. We were a party of 11 and all our meals were made within a reasonable time from ordering. The decor really adds to the experience. I look forward to going back when I'm in the country and in the mood for great quality Indian cuisine.

J. G.One of the best Indians we’ve been to in Auckland. Ordered a Mixed Platter for 2 and Chicken Saag. Both were excellent, the naan bread was also cooked perfectly.

Got a table for 2, great atmosphere, attentive staff.
I ordered a lamb vindaloo and garlic naan. (My usual order everywhere)
Without doubt the BEST vindaloo I've had in my life, the spice blend was perfect, hot but not too hot, lamb was perfectly cooked. Garlic naan was exactly as expected, I do like the touch of having it cut for presentation.
Also, got a mango lassi, really enjoyed that too.
Would definitely return to Urban.

Curries are full of flavours and they have one of the best garlic and cheese naan, it’s a must order side here. Chicken tandoori was well marinated and the yoghurt sauce to match is nice too. Rice was included when you order mains. Great value for money. Highly recommend this place if you are nearby.

I. A.The meals we get here are always more-ish and exellent quality. The staff know us as regulars now and they are friendly and happy to explain menu items if you're unfamiliar with the dish.
Y. N.Lunch Nice little restaurant. Cosy atmosphere with parking. Fully Licensed. BYO Wine only. Free home delivery over $30. $7.50 lunch packs Thursday and Fridays from 12pm-2pm. Open 7days from 4.30pm till late. Go and try them out. They also do party functions.

1x butter chicken medium hot. Wasnt medium more mild, didnt have much taste.

M. A.Let’s start by saying that the Urban Indian restaurant is so far the best Indian restaurant I have been to. There meals are the best I have ever had. My partner and I were outstanding by their 10/10 customer service, they make sure to check on you, they are very polite and take care of you until the end of your course ! We will definitely be back.

A. P.My experience with this restaurant is average. The service is good, but when I placed order they didn't ask for mild or spicy so the food are all mild. Chicken tikka is nice, but the butter chicken is below average, full of tomato source not many chicken pieces. A $50 dinner not that satisified.

If ordering online your food is unlikely to be ready when the order confirmation states. And it regularly sits on the counter for a long time before they call your name out.

Too expensive for the quality of food. No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday at 8pm.

The only downside was the service. Our order came out wrong twice in a row, but we wouldn’t mind coming here again to try other dishes.
s.I ordered out the Lamb Biryani and while a little pricey, I was given a lot of quantity and it was very pleasant to the taste - very fragrant rice, juicy lamb as well.
The pappadom was great as well!
The tandoori chicken pieces were OK - nothing special.
Standard Indian cuisine - It was my first time there and i enjoyed my food.
Worth checking out if you want a good Indian feed in Ellerslie - quiet restaurant, with a nice bar.

A. W.Fairly average but ok tasting curries. Gulab jamun was old and stale and hard was also not even served hot. Service was timely however many many dirty tables in a completely empty restaurant which was strange as we were the only ones in there. I was overcharged by $7 as we were charged twice for the mango lassi however the lady was honest and chased me outside to give my back my money I was overcharged for. Overall may not return for dinner as it was very overpriced at 18 for just a curry.

The house team a friendly and very welcoming. There menu is really reasonably price and the offer both eat in and take away. Give these guys a try
S. S.Thought we would eat out instead of takeaway but was disappointed to find the sit down menu has a 30-35% price increase compared to takeaway menu…. No wonder the restaurant was empty on a Friday evening. Food was nice though, just not with worth the price tag. Stick to takeaway.
