D.3.5 stars, the gluten friendly base is a solid 4/5 and the pizza is a good 3/5 (as far as premium priced pizzas go). Flavour profile was a little lacking for me but over all a decent pizza. The online ordering asks if you want to tip.. Always found that strange for takeaways as isn't the tip for exceptional service if they need more money for their pizza then maybe just charge more?
D.Best pizza I've had in NZ. Lovely cocktail list for an aperitif, and lovely sharing and starter options. Incredible Pizza options with a variety of flavours to suit all dietary requirements including dairy free, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. Service was also exceptional: friendly, genuine, and just cheeky enough!
J.Al Volo provided a fabulous experience with authentic Italian hand made pizza which our group enjoyed accompanied by Italian Chianti wine.
We were fortunate to have an early table booking as the restaurant was packed by the time we departed a couple of hours later. Highly recommended.

A.Al Volo is hands down the most authentic pizza experience in Auckland. Luca & his welcoming team make the best pizza in town - you won't go anywhere else for pizza once you've been here!
T.We dined in at Al Volo after dinner a couple of times recently to enjoy their bottomless pizza deal as well as trying other dishes. The staff is fantastic and engaging, super friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant is warm and homely.
The food is fantastic especially their pizzas and the wine selection is great too. I particularly enjoyed the Cotto and Funghi pizzas and the smoked mushroom salad. The truffle ravioli is especially memorable too.
For a relaxed impressive night out enjoying wonderful Italian food, especially amazing pizza, Al Volo is the obvious choice. Highly recommended with distinction!
D.Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow I am always amazed by the service, Tony (front of house) is absolutely amazing, How do you remember customers names even after weeks!? Definitely feel very appreciated as a customer, Great service is so hard to find anywhere nowadays. The food is also fantastic, Have to try all the great flavour on the menu. R.Has a great pizza here tonight very good authentic pizza. Restaurant is small so if you definitely want pizza make sure you book. Friendly staff and efficient service. My partner had fries as well which were very good of the shoestring variety. Nice place to go for a casual meal with friends or family. Expense $$. I did not try the coffee so cannot comment.
C.5 Star pizza.Great place to eat fresh wood fire pizza. Really nice flavors and options to choose from we had the Cotto E Fungi and Danny Bolo pizzas. They also have some amazing starters, we had the Mammas meat balls stuffed with mozzarella, yes yum yum. If you want a seat on a Friday or Saturday night you will need to book as it gets very busy and there is not a lot of room for dinning in. The place is so popular takeaways are flying out the door as well as Uber eats.
If you have enough room for desert ask for the home made Classic Tiramisu. Hope I just made you want to go!!!
