Had a great experience. The restaurant it’s self is beautiful, the staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was absolutely delicious and the value for money was well worth it. 100% will be back 👍🏼

Lovely restaurant with delicious food that is reasonably prices. The writing staff are friendly and attentive. We were a large group but we did not wait very long for our drinks or food.

If you use first table be warned each diner needs to buy a drink. They use the same table size for 2 - 4 people, so for 4 people it's quite cramp. The food was quite good but service wasn't the best. Got attitude for requesting to move table and another waiter forgot our request. Food takes very long to arrive, maybe 40 minutes.

First visit and won't be the last. They had a lunch special for $22 entree and main with great selection to choose from. Had the lamb and was one of the best I have had in the last 5 years, so moist and tender. Tried the chicken as well and was great. Beautiful food, great potion size. DESERTS. Finally a larver cake that was soft goowy and delicious..... overall fantastic food, service and lovely restaurant. Will definitely return soon.

I normally write reviews for five stars or one stars. Yesterday I went there for dinner to celebrate my birthday. I have been to Aubergine before back when there was one in Albany or Apollo area I think. I am very impressed with the eye fillet. The vinegar and the pumpkin on the sides are a perfect combination. It balances the flavour very well, give you the kick of the sourness and then the natural sweetness of the pumpkin calms things down. The tomato soup is very good too. I love the presentation with the love heart.

It was wonderful experience, I tried vegiterian moussaka it was fabulous. Only suggestion is if the moussaka is prepared for meat and vegiterian is without meat the salt level is little extra, apart from that everything is fantastic. The starters are amazing, ambience is wonderful and had a great time.

Quiet when we arrived at midday but busy when we left at 2pm. Nice decor and calm atmosphere. We had the lunch special, two kinds of garlic bread, chicken filo and lamb with pilaf. Very tasty washed down with a reasonably priced glass of sav blanc. Friendly efficient server, Madelene from Italy. Deserves its great reputation.

We had a lunch there. They have $22 special lunch menu which you can have 1 starter and 1 main. I had soup for my starter. It was clear tomato soup. It was ok. For the main, I had lamb. Your food was outstanding, and we thank you, but what set you apart and created an incredible experience for us was your team. The food is cheap for it's quality and fills you right up. Has a lovely environment, not too busy or loud. Waitresses are fantastic and don't constantly harass you about if you're ready to order etc. Overall and a wonderful mid range place to eat.

Service: 1/5 We had to wait 1/2 hour for the starters of bread, and 1 1/2 hours for the main course. I'd recommend the soup for starters, as the bread is store bought and tastes pretty average. Food: 4.5/5 The mains especially were really good, and decent sizes. I ordered the seafood pasta, the pasta was clearly not homemade but still ok. Seafood was fresh and sauce was good too. The cheesecake was excellent (was a mocha one), a bit like a mousse in that the consistency was nice and light, not too sweet and not too little sugar either. The berries were clearly frozen.

Wow! Over in Takapuna and found what we thought could be a hidden gem! Food was fresh and delicious, however soon filled up with happy faces, obviously the locals know it well. My Tarakihi was cooked to perfection and service was prompt and friendly, top marks, we will be back, thanks.

Really loved the atmosphere in this place. It was warm and cozy during a cold autumn night. We made a reservation for three here and got a set menu. They had $5.00 alcoholic beverages which I thought was quite pleasant. It's nice to dine at a place where the drinks aren't more expensive than the food. The set menu had a lot of different options, and it included a starter, main and dessert of your choice, all for $39.00 which was a pretty good deal. The food was delicious, and I would really recommend checking this place out.

This is one of the best restaurants on the north. The service is very good and the food is out of this world. Great value for money the chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfection. I recommend them as a great place to go out for dinner.

Highly recommend Aubergine to all. 2020:Greeted warmly, Fantastic attentive wait staff. Aubergine's new female chef cooked & presented our food beautifully. A very pleasant dining experience. We will be back. (After phoning to check, we were provided outdoor seating as we were able to bring our dog)

Wide variety of options, but the slow cooked lamb a stand-out. Also the fish of the day was superbly seared tuna. This restaurant is amazing and I will definitely come back again. I am allergic to salicylates (which is in almost everything!) so eating out can be really stressful and when restaurants get it wrong, I have been really sick. Aubergine did a fantastic job. They cooked my fish in butter along with green beans. It was delicious. Thank you so much for going the extra mile to help.

The food was okay but expensive for what it was, the side dish for one of the mains was missed and delivered long after the plates were cleared. No one checked on how our meal was or if we needed anything, and we were not given a chance to consider dessert before the staff began packing up and closing everything.... At 8.30 pm! Very average food but OK. Potatoes obviously cooked in microwave, not fully cooked through and not put in oven long enough to brown. Served with undercooked boiled carrot. Why not roast your veges properly? Sauce served with pan fried fish very sour, taste not balanced. Service was slow, staff friendly but not particularly on point, forgetting we ordered a dessert as well. There are much better options in the area.

Just had a lovely Mediterranean dinner at Aubergine. Had the lamb platter and the spinach ricotta cannelloni. Also tried their very special Kunafa. Staff is very friendly, felt like home. We'll be back soon!

Had the two course meal. They had it on special for $18 on a sign outside. Chose the brocolli soup from 3 choices of starters and the fish salad from about 7 choices of main. Soup was good, very simple but nice. But the fish blew my mind. Good sized quality piece of fish grilled perfectly sitting on top of a horseradish potato salad. A squeeze of lemon and it was perfect, a little asparagus and small cubes of beetroot to qualify it as a salad and another sauce which was nice but not really necessary. I loved every mouthful. Service was genuinely friendly and timed well. As this was a spur of the moment thing it turned out wonderfully. My partner had the bread and dips (they do gluten free) and the chicken schnitzel and declared it beautiful / very good. So overall highly recommended

Must have new owners or the old ones have lost the plot. I've eaten here for decades and always had great service, awesome food, made to feel welcome. This time, the new decor and furniture did nothing to make the service, food & welcome any better than 'poor'. I'm am gutted to report this as this place has been one of my favorites. It’s a pleasant place and welcoming but disappointed with food! I have pork belly which was very dry. Partner had lamb and not quite as dry but not as mouthwatering as one would expect. Both the meals came with far to many potatoes to fill the plate.

We were in the outdoor annexe and could scarcely hear each other speaking. The food was average. And cold. We wish we had been told of the group event when we made our booking.

Dinner at Aubergines has in the past always been a wonderful experience both the service and the food. Our recent experience the service was great, the food not the usual standard. Soup tasted similar to Campbell tinned soup, the main of lamb shanks was great, the other main of venison was seared on the outside and refrigerator cold in the middle, the cheesecake rum & raisin great while the GF orange & almond cake while being petite (tartlet size) had been overheated in the microwave. Would hesitate to visit again as the meal was quite inconsistent in quality and in some aspects dissapointing.

I've been here many times in the past and loved it! My all time favourites were the chocolate fudge cake and the duck but my most recent visit was very dissapointing. The duck was not as I remembered. it lacked the tenderness, taste and crunch on the skin that I was used to. And the Chocolate cake had been replaced by some kind of dry brownie that was presented beautifully but lacked the richness and moistness of the old menus fudge cake. I didnt like it at all. Has your chief changed?
