Note the 5 stars I gave Autobahn Cafe. Its for their ice coffees. They are consistently the best iced coffees. Better than anywhere else I've tried. Im a iced coffee connoisseur so I mean the best iced coffees ever. They're thick, creamy and full of coffee flavour. I also love the dollop of real whipped cream on top as well. No canned cream here. Also want to say a big thankyou to the mature lady that works there. She's like a breath of fresh air. She provides fantastic customer service and is super friendly too. Dont mind the photo below if my iced coffee. I drank half of it before taking the photo because I couldn't wait😉

Love stopping here for a break and a meal. Wasn't as busy as any other time driving through. Food delivered quick, almost to order. Friendly staff. Will continue coming here. Parking was good today, usually packed..mlots of parking

Great food loved their vegetarian sausage rolls and quiche abit on the expensive side, they didn't gave any sausage rolls or chips ready in the warmer so was hard to find the kids something to eat if you're just wanting to buy and go.

We always stop by Autobahn for a quick breakfast whenever we are travelling down south. Coffee was just alright but we did not expect much too. Their big breakfast comes in big portion which is very filling and great deal. They offer a wide range of food selection from cabinet food to mains which is good for a family with kids. Had a toilet and meal break after passing through Auckland traffic. Grabbed a creaming soda milkshake and a cheese and onion toastie. Both were alright. The onions in the toastie were pretty much raw but I didn't mind it. Good place for a nice cheap meal stop.

Good place to stop to refresh yourself on a road trip. Good coffee & plenty of food options. Good selection of colds on a hot day. It’s also a great place to meet up with others before heading out on a ride. There is an outdoor area & a play area for kids to stretch their legs.

If you are need a sit down food stop for you and the family, then this is a good option. This place reminds me of a truck stop. Good wholesome basic tucker with good sized portions. This place is also nice and roomy for the whole family to take a break from travelling. There is plenty of parking and they have a separate big entrance for a toilet stop that also services MacDonalds (next door). If you are an overseas traveller, there is also a rack of brochure with things to do in NZ as an added extra and free wi-fi.

We had the Autobahn Burger Special which was lovely, meaty and vegies fresh, cheesy, very tummy. Chips crisp outside and soft in the middle, as they should be. Excellent large flat white. Customer Service very good. Food prepared quickly and efficiently. Quite busy but I believe all staff did a great job and I was there an hour or more. Tidy and clean. Staff, cleaning tables as they emptied. Awesome.

To be honest it was alright but could have been better. The Coffee was good, both my Daughter and I had quiche. We were offered hot or cold. My Daughter chose hot and Hers was fine but I had mine cold and it was so cold it was just like it had come out of the freezer and had been put out for service before it was properly defrosted. There was a very good gift shop and the assistant was extremely helpful !

Hygiene A grade certificate, mobility accessible. The place keeps tidy and clean, meals arrive pretty quick. The big toastie is pretty full and cost about $7, chowder is bit salty. Two people have breakfast with coffee just over $40. Staff are friendly with smile at all the time.

Usually stop here regularly on the way south for at least a coffee, but more often than not the " most popular" breakfast as well. The food is good, the service is good and quick and staff are friendly enough.... especially the young Scots girl. Totally recommend stopping here and not McD's next door!! Too bad the other branch of Autobahn in Bombay is the opposite, but I'll write that in other review.

It was just alittle bit more expensive than the city so I think it's reasonable considering it's middle of highway. The food and coffee were ok.

Bought the energy and ginger slices and a small snack pack of roasted almonds. The slices are yum! Plus if I'd had time I would of tried more. Prices are steep however $5.20 per slice, I guess they are in the middle of nowhere. Since they're local and homemade it is worth trying!

The coffee was actually pretty good, but wow the prices - nearly $6 for a plain old large flat white. For food are beyond fancy Auckland café level. $7.90 for a B&E muffin is pretty outrageous, it's even a buck cheaper at McDonald's next door. The almond croissants looked like they were fresh yesterday and $5.50 for a bog standard Pandoro is up there. And it's all presented in a pretty industrial low end cafeteria ambiance. It's fine if you need something in a hurry but it wasn't fast, it wasn't cheap, and it wasn't great.

Coffee was horrid, burnt to say the least, had to mix it with 2 sugars to push it through tolerable; wouldn't recommend if you have an alternative in mind. Food however was yummy, and decent meal size, I really enjoyed my eggs benedict, all in all, I wanted to give it a 4 but despite the food being a highlight to my attendance here, the coffee was a total letdown. So 3/5 it is, if you need a caffeine fix and there's no where else to go, then maybe come here, just make sure you're not allergic to sugar.

My partner and I have breakfast there every Sunday and have done for the last 5 years. We have always been served a hot breakfast with only a short wait. How ever this morning we had to wait a long time for it and it was nearly as cold as the pot of tea they gave us on first arriving. Not good at all. When I mention to the girl at the counter, all she could say was sorry. We are too. I don’t know if we will return or not.

It could have an extra tea bag to avoid the trouble of asking for an extra. Which was going to cost until I complained that a single cup has one tea bag. A pot of tea for two should have at least two tea bags.

I have Ceolic disease and the cafe has a dedicated gluten free menu including burgers! The meat pattie turned out to have gluten in it so they swapped it for a steak burger. Very happy with the way staff double checked the ingredients.

This a great place to stop for meals en route South. Plenty of parking and clean rest rooms. The cafeteria has good selection in the cabinet or you can order from the board. I noticed they had a gluten free menu if you ask. It's not a flash place but is clean and service us quick so we regularly stop here. You can fill up with petrol at station here too.

I can see why people like this place. I turned up at about dinner time and they didn't have anything in the way of quick and savoury snacks for me to grab. There was a cabinet full of sweet stuff, but that wasn't what I wanted. I could have ordered something hot, from the blackboard, but I didn't have the time. They either have massive rent to pay or are taking advantage of the location, because the prices don't look like value for money.

I used to love the meals here, but things have changed. The cabinet food is no longer as fresh or tasty. I ordered the special of the day, fish, 2 pieces of Tarakihi and chips. I used to get a lovely little salad with it. Now it's a teeeny weeny bit of fine grated carrot only. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly though. I also used to love their Vanilla slice, with its layers of crisp flakey pastry and melt in your mouth vanilla custard, but the last two times I have been there, its been soggy and just dissapointing.

Not bad. Had the French toast with "bacon" (more of salty ham slice than bacon), banana, and real maple syrup, which was good, but expensive. And an apple crumble, which was not so good, because the crust was far too thick (1/4 inch at least) and under cooked (tasted raw) and the filling was okay, but the crumble again tasted raw, and expensive. I did have the chance earlier in the day to eat some of the most delicious apple crumble, so I should not have purchased this one, for it surely was going to be a let down by comparison.

What a delight to ask if they have anything gluten free, expecting a "no", and then be handed a gluten free menu! WIth lots of notes to the servers about things to check with the consumer about their level of sensitivity. These people know that asking for gluten free means you have coeliac disease; not that you are on some stupid fad diet, as the eye-rolling of the staff at the Auckland Museum Cafe inidcated earlier in the day. Jen and her team were awesome, and the food was fabulous. Better food and service at this "truck stop" cafe than what you get at most "top" restaurants in New Zealand.
