D.Best fried dumplings I jave had so far.
Ordered a take away, read my book inside the restaurant whilst waiting, and had a feast on the beach, a short walk away.
S.TLDR: good food, COVID precautionary measures - miserable
The food is great, but apart from that, everything else is below than expected. Spice is recklessly added so ensure that you always pick mild
Customer service is miserable, seating is meh and feels crammed, and the hand sanitiser is always empty which places lives at risk right in the middle of a global COVID pandemic.
UPDATE: Better service this time and hand sanitiser is STILL empty.

J.Serves delicious food with quick service however the prices have gone up a lot past the few years and portion sizes have been decreasing. Not surprising though since many places have been following this trend too. Their noodles are very good.
T.We are regular customers and our orders are always consistent and generous for the price. Service is with a smile and cost very reasonable. The dumplings are huge and very tasty! The noodles are wonderful. Haven't tried the rice yet because we love the noodles and dumplings so much. The broth is very tasty. Highly recommended!
T.Hands down favourite dumplings in the whole wide world has to be the pork and chive in spicy sauce. Their ‘hot’ is not to be underestimated, but even though it burns a little for me it’s well worth it.
Dan dan noodles a nice accompaniment to the dumplings but not a must. Portion sizes are huge so always go for the Small if in doubt.
Fell in love with the original Basu Lounge in Takapuna but I really rate their Browns Bay location more.
B.First thing comes to my mind is that it is spacious & comfortable than the first branch that is on takapuna. Friendly staff & undoubtedly massive menu.
Food is great! Basu make killer veg dumplings. A must try place.
Parking could be a challenge sometimes. Bus stop nearby.
P.Typical Chinese dumpling restaurant. If you like spicy, you definitely won't be disappointed.

m.Delicious food, quick service, friendly owner. It was busy so I recommend booking ahead. Please note if it's busy you may have to wait for a seat but it's well worth the wait. Recommend Dan Dan noodles, wonton soup and dumplings, for the adventurous try a cooling celery salad with sliced tripe and sliced pig's ear when having a spicy main😍 great value for money as well
S.Best dandan noodles on the Shore, imo. Staff always helpful, pleasant, and smiling. Basic, simple, no frills place, just as you would expect with this menu and these prices. Often busy (always a good sign).
C.The beef noodles are to die for. The portion size is extremely generous for what you pay. The dumplings are delicate and beautiful full of flavour. Service can be very disappointing at times. The food is so good that you sort o don't care about the drabby decor. A huge menu a little hard to choose.

R.So delicious food! The mixed salad was a bit on the salty side for my liking but couple that with the cucumber salad, it was so refreshing. Had the dan dan mien with pork mince. It was amazing. The kids ate well and everyone enjoyed the lunch at a reasonable price too.

A.Classic Dan Dan noodle is uber yum. Size small is really filling and is a good-size serving - someone with a bird tummy like me will find it a mission to finish.

n.Basu lounge is a well know Asian eatery and is famous for its dan dan noodles. But the browns bay branch feels much better than the takapuna branch.

t.The quality & price of the food is alright, but the interior is cramped and generally too busy for a relaxed dining experience. You won't be disappointed coming here, but if there's an alternative then I would recommend checking if they're quieter first.
v.The food is really taste good. But the waitress are so unwelcome, pressing phone over there without any service and the table are not clean probably.
