T.The food was delicious and the dessert a treat. We did not wait long and the service was excellent. Great place for a birthday meal. They make you feel very special with the birthday song and a drink on the house. We will definitely be back.
A.Service 5*. Food presentation 5*. Food taste & quality 5*. This restaurant is an experience you won't forget. Be ready to spend though, 2 people and we spent $117, no regrets, totally worth it. 4 star overall as we were seated in the back area, which would be ok however disgusting fan blowing at as, dirty ceiling above us, old and ugly open storage next to us. Took away from the experience for sure.

A.This is a zero carb paradise. They will make your food without sauces and even add an egg if you ask. The meat is amazing. I love the scotch fillet and ribs. They have a good kids menu and they even have a kids entertainment area.
F.What a wonderful dining experience my family and I had tonight. The staff were great, the wait wasnt too long and the food! Oh my, it was so delicious with its generous servings! My medium done steak was perfectly cooked with the blue cheese sauce on the side! The kids enjoyed the ribs so much! Thankyou Bushmans Grill!
A.Bushman's is one of my favorite places to eat at in New Zealand. It can be a bit pricey but we will choose them every single time for special events and the portion sizes are definitely worth it. Takeways are available and they try to give you restaurant quality food at home. We can never decide between our tried and true dishes: ribs, chicken, stake. For the South-Africans, be on the lookout for a taste of home (they have the best Peppermint crisp tart) and be ready to meet a few South-Africans if you are up for it or just enjoy the feel at home vibe. You will always feel right at home with great staff and service. Keep uo the great work Bushman's Grill.
J.Highly recommend this restaurant. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. Staff were attentive and service was quick. Food was just delicious. Very large portions (couldn't finish a whole meal by myself) and cooked well. Well priced, and there are daily specials too! The only thing was that the steak was supposed to be medium rare but wasn't, but not a big issue. Would recommend going a bit earlier as it can get busy.
M.Ordered the Wednesday Special Meal which is Beer Rump Steak, 2 eggs and chips and Pork Ribs with creamy spinach. Very delicious. Staffs were accommodating and very good service overall.
L.Bushman’s Grill is our favourite restaurant. It’s our go to restaurant for all and any celebrations. We have been there for years and never once been disappointed with the delicious food and customer service. And they are even friendly and response fast via emails.
M.The portions are generous, the cost per person somewhat high for what's on offer. You may be seated in the back room, which lacks atmosphere and good service, even if you have a booking. The chocolate mousse is awesome, though!
B.I always forget to review a place, but this one worth it. I went to a birthday occasion and the food is divine!! The portion sizes are great and the food is simple amazing, with a lot of flavor. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place and would come over and over.
Y.Even without a reservation, we were accommodated without any wait. The vibe was great. I knew the food was going to be perfect even before I ordered. Scrumptious food grilled to perfection, friendly service and my fussy eater gave her stamp of approval and didnt even want to leave! Keep up the great service, we will surely visit again soon!

M.Family dinner on new years eve and was surprised by how delicious the starters were and how plentiful. The main course of peri peri chicken and steak was a tad pricey for what it is but no doubt was delicious. Service was awesome as was the attentiveness of the owner/manager! C.Had the Crumbled Calamari as an entree. Was melt in your mouth and incredibly tasty!! Cooked to perfection and beautiful. Had the steak and chicken combo as a main. Steak was cooked exactly as I asked for and was juicy and beautiful!!! Chicken was also melt in your mouth and to die for! Staff were quick, kind and friendly and the meals were really well priced. Would 100% recommend and I would return regularly if I was a local. This place is amazing!

C.These guys are one of a kind everything on the menu is made with love and you can really taste it! My personal favorite is the chicken and bacon pizza, calamari and any flavor of the chicken 5/5 recommended for sure!
M.Wow! Couldn't believe the size, quality and price of the meals. My steak was HUGE and delicious- one of the best I have had dining out. Very attentive staff - excellent food and service. First time last night....have just booked for an upcoming birthday in 10 days time. May try the desserts then...didn't have room for them after the main last night. :)

B.They have a large variety of meats and other BBQ items on the menu. The combo items are quite good so that you get to taste a bit more of everything. I grabbed the rib and chicken combo and there was a choice of sauce as well as sides. We also grabbed an onion flower to share.
The food was quite tasty. Nicely flavoured meats and the sides were also nice. Portions were quite big but you are able to take away so it was a meal for the following day.
The food is quite nice but parking is a bit of a pain, we had to park down the road as all the spots outside were full.

I.Loved it! I under estimated their steaks but wow they're good! Had their ribs, steak and peri peri chicken. The ribs were Meh. The steak was just amazing! Great flame grilled flavours. Their peri peri chicken was also delicious, they use house made peri peri sauce which had a nice zing! Quite happy with this restaurant and would totally recommend!
N.I don’t remember what number of visit this was. But the food is excellent all the time and the mushroom sauce is yumm as always. I have been to many steak houses in auckland but out of all of them this is always my best choice.
And i never hesitate on going here as i know that everytime the quality is the same no compromises what so ever.
A.Located near the offramp in Northcote, this is a spectacular steakhouse that serves excellent meat. All meals are served with sides, salads or chips - many to select from. The staff are quick on their feet and are really friendly.
The food is great, and reasonably priced compared to other steakhouses in the vicinity. Parking is a hassle as there is limited parking space outside, you might have to park somewhere else on busy days. Otherwise would totally recommend for parties larger than two.
K.Overall an average experience. The food was okay and the service was good but could be improved. They brought us the wrong order a few times as well as additional things we didn’t order & forgetting things which we did. The steaks were all mixed up (wrong flags for medium rare, well done etc on the wrong steaks) & one was not cooked as asked at all. The value for money factor was lacking because for the prices I was expecting a higher standard. Room for improvement but willing to give them a second chance.

A.Shuch a great food experience at this restaurant. Very warm and casual place. The staff are really friendly. For starters I had the buffalo chicken which was one of the best i have ever tried in Auckland. The rump steak was although it was a bit overcooked and dried. The raspberry coke was also amazing.
Oh and they have halal options 😉
A.Nice and cozy place. Was slow to be served and given a menu but that was due to how busy it was. Definitely recommend booking here. Food came pretty fast and was delicious! Rump steak was amazing. Table was wobbly but the waitress who served us noticed straight away and fixed it which was a bonus. The caramel ice cream sundae was delicious. Definitely coming back again with friends.
O.For many years ive always envy'd this place, thankyou chef, my steak was perfect💯 would reccomend to all my friends and family, very nice staff, we were treated very well, thankyous so much.
S.I live close by and have been here a couple times whenever I have people visiting from out of town. Their wings are pretty good. I had the escargot and t-bone tonight and both were pretty good. Not gonna win any awards I don't think, but the service was great enough that I would come back as a regular.

Only downside is when it gets busy, it’s busy... we waited about 50 minutes for our mains to come, but it was worth it. Would definitely recommend and come here again.
S.This grill is the best I have been to, I ordered a 600g rump and it tasted good. There is one problem, I ordered it a medium rare but I received a medium. I would have liked if they had done it right.

J.I visit this place so frequently and every time it is fantastic, staff and owner are lovely. Food is absolutely amazing, great quality and selection on the menu. They are a bit pricey but I think its well worth it for a special occasion or birthday.
They have an outdoor seating if you want along with heating (fireplace) and a entertainment area for kids to play while they wait for food to arrive and not disrupt others at the table. Also great decor and family vibe on the inside.
Ultimate onion is a must, steak, chicken and ribs are great, and delicious sauces. They never disappoint.

D.I have been coming to bushmans for a few years now and thought it’s high time to write a review.
I’ve tried a bit of everything on the menu, the steaks and ribs are the go-to thing. The steaks are cooked beautifully and the ribs are very tender and delicious. Bushmans are pretty generous about their portion sizes so you are guaranteed to leave in a full stomach.
They also have a great selection of South-African styled deserts which are also quite good.
The staff and atmosphere are also great and there is even a play room for kids with two xbox motions. A great place to bring your family.
K.First time going to this place tonight, I took my partner out for mother's day dinner and man was it not a let down. The food was awsome I got the T-Bone steak Medium rear with creamy mushroom sauce bloody perfect we had a 3 course meal every part was delicious on it's own plate and the service was just exceptional

S.Omg! We went in yesterday night 24th of Feb 2021 for dinner. Food and service was great. We did wait a bit longer then usual but it was worth a wait! I could clearly see that they were understaffed but all the staff were attentive and tried their best to assist customers. The Manager was really polite and was very detailed to everything. Lovely lady. Anyway, all of the staff still had a smile on their face even though they were working under alot of pressure! Well done. Your boss should be proud. Thank you guys, will visit again!

15/01/2021- Returned again walking in and left again rolling out the door... Ate way to much. Wow.!!!! Top shelf as always, food was great and the malva pudding was define. J.We visited Bushmans grill last night and everything was fabulous. When we walked in we were greeted with a smile and we're made to feel at home until we left . The restaurant was really busy and they appeared to be short staffed but didn't miss a beat. The manager made sure the waitresses had everything under control and helped to get the job done. L.I love coming to this place! Their ribs are good and their steaks! Their mushroom and cheese sauce goes great with their steaks as well as the blue cheese sauce. The staff here are super nice and are relatively efficient. I always walk out of this place full and satisfied and their prices are really good for the quality of food and the service you get. If you do go on Friday nights and weekends, book in advance since they do get busy at those times and they might not be able to seat you if you just walk in. It is a very nice place and would definitely come here for a nice meal out!

Having told my wife about how great South African steaks are from my visits to Johannesburg we went with high hopes.
When the steak arrived at the table it looked like a nice cut, however, disappointingly, the steak tasted good but not great.
Unfortunately, the ribs were also quite average too.
I was expecting a bit more of a 'South African grill house speciality experience' but it lacked that for me.

C.We have been going to Bushman's Grill for a couple of years now. Being South African we love our meat and tastey food. We have always had excellent friendly service and have never been disappointed in the food or service. The milkshakes are to die for we have not had a better tasting milkshake in NZ to date absolutely delicious. I can highly recommend the place you will not be disappointed.

D.Have been trying to try this place for months, everytime we have tried they were closed. Finally got here when open, food didn't disapoint!
Downsides - when we asked if there were nuts on top of the garlic sauce (wife very allergic) she said there was, and wouldn't swap for one without. Turned out it was just garlic flakes so issue would have been avoided if the waitress knew the food.
Pretty pricey, for a steak, a appatizer and 2 drinks came to over $70.
D.It does what it says on the box, not a place to come for any healthy options. Food is good, a bit pricey but big portions, service was a bit slow to start but friendly and seemed to get better through the meal. Let down by a lack of parking. Overall, would not rate this as high as Serengeti, but a good alternative if you can't get a booking.

The environment there is friendly, i felt comfy, family friendly as well, hood music and the staff is just top knotch, i recommend this place to everybody that wants to have a full belly, no judgement, and a family friendly atmosphere.

A.We’ve been a couple of times in the past year, the first time was great, steak was perfect, food and atmosphere were awesome, we were there for a birthday so staff sung for us which was cool. Second time service was slow, food was not great, our steaks were so tiny! but it was the atmosphere, not the same as previously at all. Just an uncomfortable, icy vibe amongst staff. Based on second time around I don’t think we’ll be spending that much money not knowing what we’re going to get.
T.Service was thoughtful and brisk. It took about 20 minutes for our steaks to arrive at 7pm on Sunday. The steaks are quite standard but the calamari was a tad too soft. Overall a great place for a hearty warm meal.

T.Starting with the food. Tasty! Great sized portions perfectly cooked, I can't resist the steaks here but there are other options as well such as chicken schnitzel. The staff are friendly and the service is exceptional. The ambience is both private and social. Private booths segregating parties of diners or smaller tables in the rooms interior. Booking is recommended as this is a popular dining experience. It is pricey though. For special occasions, well worth it!

m.If I could give more than 5 stars I would, this place is amazing, I would recommend this place to everybody, the staff here are amazing, love the service. I don't write google reviews at all but this place definitely deserves one. Love this place. Only down side I would say is that it's only open for 4 hours. For the people who want to try this place, make sure you making a booking before hand as this place gets booked up really fast.

T.My first experience here was lovely. Was part of a large crowd of adults and kids and we were in the area at the back with the little games room which kept the kids entertained. The staff were really good at taking the orders and they were all correct along with drink orders. They checked on our quality and asked regularly if we needed drinks topped up. Dinner was lovely as well as entrees and desserts. Not sure I have had poppers anywhere else that comes close. Good variety of music. Loud but fun. Would go back.

There is a kids menu but it does not have many options.
overall we very much enjoyed out visit. I definitely recommend it for any meat lovers out there.

R.We find the food was nice and everything was lovely & hot. With only 2hrs to dine everything came out quickly, we were a large group 8 adults & 4 children. My only comment would be that is expensive for what you got. Watch for hidden extras like the sauce on the steaks is extra. Steaks range from $34 to $46 plus $3 for sauce. All up for 2 people average meals 1 drink each & dessert was $122 which l thought was a lot or am l out of touch. (although we eat out a fair bit)

B.I don’t review at all because most places are so so, or okay but this place, the Bushmans grill was exceptional. We ate outside, the weather was perfect, the restaurant was nice and clean and the service was great.
We had mushrooms, blooming onions and a little appetizer pizza with a cold jug of beer just for starters. A 250g sirloin and calamari with chips and sautéed onions, with two types of sauces to compliment the meal. Also a wonderful selection of deserts to choose from.
It was the best restaurant meal I think I’ve ever had. Thank you.
J.One if our favourite places inthe Noth Shore - - steaks are perfectly cooked, ribs are awesome. Huge servings but make sure you leave room for dessert. Can't miss the malva pudding with custard. If there's one thing you have to get, it has to be that blooming onion, so very yummy. Very nice people, too. They always talk to their guests to see how everything is going.

R.As a regular (who travels a considerable distance to eat here) It would not be an exaggeration to say that, the thought of our first "post covid lockdown" meal, was something that helped a lot, to get through it, mentally. I am pleased to say, that our Friday evening meal, was better than our imaginations - Shane and Diedre and their team as a whole, produced a culinary masterclass for our family, under difficult conditions. The steaks were cooked to perfection, each steak cooked exactly as requested. The chips, flavouring, sauces and don't get me started on the peri peri chicken, were all better than we remembered. Well Done to the BG team, (Or should that be Medium Rare, to the BG Team?) we will be back, and again.

The waitress overheard that it was one of our party's birthday, and without being asked, they sang him happy birthday (and put a sparkler in his don pedro!). Now, that's the type of initiative you will not see in other 'local' restaurants. The cream soda floats were straight out of memory lane.

From the friendly service that was willing to do anything for us to the owners who clearly show and lead their amazing staff to provide excellent service. The food oh my God!!!.. I got my steak the way I not only like but love, tender and full of flavor. The blue cheese sauce was made out of nothing but love and i could have eaten just that with chips and felt contempt. The creamy spinach is a highlight I recommend you add to your dish. I also tried snail's, for the first time which made me feel very international. I would definitely recommend this place to family's couples friends or just go sit and be a loner haha.

L.The ribs are excellent here. Can choose from bbq or spicy sauce, I had the bbq which was not spicy at all, unlike most places that make the sauce too spicy. The meat just falls off the bone, and the portion sizes are decent too. A family member had the steak, which they recommended. Prices are reasonable and didn't have to wait long for the food.

M.Ahhh, the snails! It's hard to find somewhere that serves snails these days and while perusing the menu online for a decent steakhouse on the north shore I spotted the snails tucked away on the menu.
As a fan of the humble snail, I figured that since the steaks here were well recommended anyway, I could be a bit self serving and safely make a booking for our party and indulge my snaily foible at the same time.
I admit that I did have reservations that I had booked us into a Cobb and Co type family restaurant but hoped for the best.
We arrived just before 7.30pm and opened the door to loudly blasting music and strident happy birthday salutations being directed at one of the booths. I was now thinking that I would never again be allowed to book anything ever again.
Luckily for me, the racket subsided and within a few minutes of being seated in our booth things were looking decidedly better.
The seating was comfortable and spacious, the kids were leaving and the atmosphere allowed normal conversation.
The food? Oh the snails! They were delicious! Salty, garlic galore, topped with cheese and served with toasted rye bread. I will return here over and over again just because of the snails.
And yes, the steaks lived up to their reputation, but the humble little snails were sensational.
We all enjoyed our night at Bushman's and will definitely go again.

D.Bushman's grill is one of my favorite steakhouse restaurants in Auckland. There is a verity of food and the quality of the meat and the preparation is world class. It is a great relaxing experience for the the entire family and they have fantastic kids entertainment. It's not always easy enjoying a meal out with a young family.
T.I stopped for petrol at BP on Friday and I could smell the delicious barbecue and decided to stop by. There were no available parks out front and all the spaces I could find were for other restaurants so I almost gave up but I am so glad I didn't. The ribs were amazing, my favourite sauce was sweet and smokey! I also loved the spinach and artichoke dip.

We made a reservation for a spot next to the fireplace as was late July and a friendly lady greeted us soon as we got there and took us to our seats. She was very friendly and welcoming! Refreshing to see from the last time we were there. Cooks as usual had the food out to us fast! and did a great job with the ribs, chicken and squid we ordered. All very tasty! The only negative is i think the owner or manager or whoever he is should dress more professional and msybe introduce himself as when he came up to our table to ask how our meal is we couldn't tell that he was part of the staff.
My suggestion for them is to add mashed potato to their menu as that butter sauce ontop of mashed potato would b amazing.

Only found about this place by chance, and what a lucky find it was! From the moment we walked through the doors we were wowed by friendly and very attentive staff. My partner is a vegetarian so going to a steakhouse type restaurant is no good, up until now! There is enough bits and pieces of vegetarian food to keep her happy including the most awesome veggie burger. The food portions were generous, the food and plates piping hot and gosh the taste was fantastic. I will definitely go back again and again. Also don’t be put off by it being on the North Shore, it is close to the bridge and very easy to find. This will also appeal to South Africans living in Auckland area that was fond of “THE SPUR” restaurant chain in South Africa- this place is even better. We only miss the pink sauce and onion rings!
