Their food are tasty. I would say less oil would have been even better. By the looks of inside, it seems they are offering alcoholic drinks. Place is open and permits dining in still. Interior is nicely decorated with lights and place looks tidy too. Customer service was relatively better compared to what I have experienced yet from any Indian restaurant in Auckland. Food is moderate expensive. It is located in a shopping complex where you probably would find onsite parking. But they need really to be flexible around the menu and customer requirements. Which I dnt find they are. Out of all the Indian takeaways I have shopped in Auckland, they are the worse flexible. I asked if I can swap for a roti instead of complementary rice that comes with a curry. But just a no straight away. Did not bother. Every other takeaway I have shopped was good enough to consider that request. So need to work around that.

Always happy with service and food malai soya chap best dish .They have very good deal for lunch $12.99 one curry naan 🫓 and rice 🍚 they have dinner deal too $14.99 .Economical and yum

Been to the restaurant on Waitangi Day. Lovely food. Served nicely by the young boy. It could be 5 star but the wait time required to be worked on. Rest is good

No place better thank chawlas fr fr..We've tried most of the non vege menu and absolutely love it. It's always best to dine in but we'll never order Indian food from anywhere else if we can help it🥰 keep on keeping on Chawlas!!

Great service and very good food. Everyone of us had great food. There were 9 people in our group. The service was fast and they had a good variety of beers. Enjoyed a good laugh with the waitress. Only one thing was the table cloth was a bit grubby I suggest they don't use table cloths so the table can be cleaned properly. Excellent otherwise. Would definitely go again.

Excellent customer service and clean facilities. Certain dishes are definitely good including their mixed tandoori starters. Curries leave a lot to be desired and biryani is also average. Seems popular for groups and celebration dinners though.

Food here was amazing! Best Palak Paneer ever and the Butter Chicken is to die for. Honestly the Indian food at this restaurant is top quality. Drinks were yummy service was amazing. It is refreshing to find a restaurant with such a lovely atmosphere and great service.

Great indian food, but when they say there is a 20-25 minutes wait please. What they really mean to say is 55 minutes. No sorry about the wait sir either when they bring you your meal. I found the manners here from the big girl working a little bit out to sea.

Great Indian food restaurant found it while looking for some take away around Manukau area that wasn't deep fried and fast food!!! Takeaway or dine in, I usually have take away but this time we decided to dine in, loved the fresh food, the atmosphere, clean and relax mode. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday( except public holidays) all main dishes NZ$12 (either takeaway or dine in!!!) My kid's favourite : Butter Chicken "Kiwi" Style, my husband's Goat Curry ( a stunning, soft-meat dish) and me??? Well, I still can't decide, every time I go there I try a new one... Its became my favourite until I try the next one!!! Tip: if you go, take with you the take away menu, next time you can ring them and order, then you just go and pick it up... ;)

I felt I was in india again. Beautiful feeling. The food was delicious and very reasonable priced. The workers were very curtious. A sure visit when ever I travel to Auckland again and again and again.

A few of us went here coz of the special ($12 mains Mon - Fri). Even though it was cheap, it wasn't made any cheaper than a normal night I reckon. still a lot of meat, and thick sauce. Cheesy naan was damn good. All the staff were friendly. Orders taken, and food served pretty quick I reckon. Only downside is the parking. But it's not that much of a biggie. Will def' go again!

I went there with my bestie for a quick snack. Had veg manchurian(dry). It was yumm. Manager and other staff member were very welcoming. They took care of us very well. Very friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place. Lot of options for vegetarians.

Tried a few dishes between us. The saagwala chicken, prawn fish masala, malai kofta and tadka daal all had individual flavors unlike a lot of Indian restaurants in Auckland where everything tastes similar and slightly sweet. The daal and the parathas were possibly among the best we've had in NZ to date. The Chawla special chicken was average though and the prices were slightly steep but we would surely return here.
