Hands down the best takeaway in Auckland. Amazing sizzling hot fried chicken and kebab. Way better than any other fried chicken joint and would easily beat KFC any day! Always fresh, hot and sizzling and very friendly service from ChickHEN Republic team. Definitely try it out 😍

Best and Best Fried Chicken in Auckland, super crispy and yummy, there is no comparison with other outlets. Portions are good enough and absolutely fair priced. Highly recommend to at least must try one time and you will go there again and again! The guy who take orders is very nice. They do make fresh food so its better to place an order on phone to save time but trust me its worth waiting!

Dining in. The decor was lacking, but in asian terms this was a great sign. Not disappointed. Fries werr well seasoned and crispy. The works chicken burger with a spicy crispy chicken filet, was great, the chicken was just right, thick in parts and perfectly cooked. In scabbed a nibbel and wing off my mate who ordered the half chicken. It was coated in a peri peri sauce. It was smokey and spicy. To me it was just right. It's not a US southern fried chicken house instead taste wise, it's a great half way point between Nandos and KFC. The place was busy with people picking up massive orders. The wait was 20 minutes for us, but worth the wait. My only criticism is that there was no obvious place to wash our hands and perhaps suggested combinations of menu items would have been handy. Apart from that, yes I will be back. Next time we'll get gravy as well. They are wheel chair friendly as well.

I love this place and am a regular ever since I decided to try this place when I saw that they did spicy fried chicken and they were amazing and better than KFC👏. Me and my sister loved our dine in experience on Tuesday. They literally have the best chicken in my opinion. Why do I think it's the best? It's because it's super crunchy , cooked to order and you could choose to have them spicy or normal. Fries are also crunchy, hot and well seasoned. The coleslaw is a must try, it's better than KFC's coleslaw. Since they cook to order, it takes roughly around 20 minutes to make your order. But it's worth the wait...what I do is order via phone before picking it up so that it's ready once I get there... The owner/manager ONLY seems like a very hardworking man and wants his customers to have a great experience with them. He's always nice to us and we could tell he works hard at the back when cooking...the other guy seems new. Also try their ice cream , I love the their walnut one😊😊

Hands down the best halal chicken and chips I've had. We bought the dinner pack and it was more then enough for 2 people. Just a bit of a delay with getting the food ready, would be best to place a phone order however definitely coming back for more delicious food 😋

Best chicken/lamb on chips of have ever had. I stay in the cbd and so i have had my fair share of mixed meats with chips but oh my goodness, the juiciness and freshness of the halal chicken and the lamb , and the freshness of the chips is literally so damm good. The portions are well worth what you pay and super friendly staff. I think iv found my new kebab spot. Thanks guys.

Wowee!! where to start? first timer here - chicken pieces were seriously HUGE (so used to the teeny tiny pieces at KFC). Chicken was well seasoned (we got original and spicy mix) - crunchy and juicy! Chips were crunchy, like you could HEAR the crunch (not limp and soggy like other places). Coleslaw was nice, although i think i favour KFCs - the only real let down was the potato and gravy - the gravy is weird, we both agreed it tasted like a herby packet gravy and was hard to eat! As for pricing, yes its more than KFC etc but totally worth it!

i’ve had so many meat on chips from so so many dif places around new zealand and this place takes the cake. their cheesy chicken on chips is honestly perfect- and they’re the one place that i’ve been to so far that actually melt the cheese so that it’s actually good. such generous portions as well and their sauces are really nice. i’ve eaten over there so many times and they’ve never disappointed. their fried chicken is also really really good but just for people who have lower spice tolerance- their spicy fried chicken is pre spicy. love them!! oh yeah also owner is super nice

Drove up from hamilton to eat from the brother and mashallah mashallah mashallah the food is beyond your expectations. I'm very picky and often stay away from gravy and coleslaw because I don't eat it unless it's fresh but the brother makes an amazing coleslaw. Fresh chips made infront of us and don't get me started on the chicken. I would definetly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Thank you brother for being a genuine person and providing the best fried chicken ive ever experienced. I will be back brother for sure

Friendly staff. Very tender and juicy meat, and very nice flavour. It's slightly more on the expensive side, $15 for the pictured kebab on rice, but it was very delicious. The spicy kebab option is great, the meat is mixed with jalapenos that really add to it nicely.

All due respect to the Colonel, but forget him. Go here. Order the Chicken Hash burger with a spicy fillet. Take in the aroma. Fried chicken are big cuts and crispy AF. Oh the crunch followed by succulent bird! Not oily. Hot chips are pretty average.

Very tasty spicy fried chicken and burgers. They have been really generous- I asked for a slice of cheese to be added to my burger, they did so without charging for it, and when I ordered falafel they added extra pieces for no extra charge. They always follow the instructions I leave when using Uber Eats. Does take longer than fast food but I don't mind the wait for the quality. Highly recommended.

I've only had the spicy option for the chicken and it is great, especially when it's piping hot fresh out of the fryer which has always been the case with my visits. I do believe they are a bit more pricey than other fried chicken places but they do make it fresh and it's not sitting on a warmer (at least from my experience so far). The spicy chicken is always crispy and it is actually spicy unlike KFC's hot and spicy.

Very good tasting chicken, and friendly team. I see others complained of the wait time. We were told up-front what that was likely to be, and we had no problem with it. We would always rather wait to get fresh food, rather than something that may cause issues later !!

Great chicken, the spicy chicken has a unique and tasty flavour. I'd suggest giving this a go if you haven't had the privilege of tasting good chicken. The chicken is succulent and freshly cooked. We have tried a variety of food from here such as lamb and chicken on rice, mixed Souvlaki/Chilli on rice, Tandoori chicken, spicy fried chicken, Kebab wraps, potato chips, bread rolls, potato and gravy...etc. And all of them were delicious. Their spicy fried chicken is a big hit in our household. It is crunchy outside and tender inside. Perfect amount of seasoning. Never comes with soggy exterior or undercooked interior. Now, we do not go to the KFC that is 2 mins away from our home and drive past to Chickhen republic instead. Chilli and Souvlaki meat on rice are very yummy, too. Not too spicy but perfectly seasoned. Tandoori chicken was a HUGE hit, too. Good size whole leg pieces seasoned perfectly. So VERY juicy and tender inside but not undercooked. The exterior is well grilled and overall taste amazing. Kebab wraps were a dissapointment for me as the lamb in it was cubed meat. I do not know whether it is real lamb or not but I am sensitive to food textures and I HATED its soy meat like texture and could not eat it. Hubby didn't mind. What I love about this place the most is that their food have never given me stomachaches. As a person with a sensitive tummy, I easily get stomach issues. I always have stomachaches after eating at KFC Panmure or Tandoori chicken from everywhere (so many places from all over Auckland) else I have tried. I can only mention one negative to this place. That is their food preparation takes longer than expected. I am guessing because they always want to deliver the perfectly seasoned and prepared food. Unfortunately, meat seasoning takes time and have no short cuts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The first time we ordered Tandoori chicken, it was frustrating waiting for the Tandoori chicken that we ordered to be picked up at 4.10pm only to be told that it is going to be late. But they offered to deliver it and was delivered around 7.45pm along with a free chippie. It was a very impatient wait, but once it was here the food was so delicious, it was so totally worth the wait. So now we call them and ask or order ahead to give them time to prepare the food. So make sure you place your order with plenty of time to spare!

Honestly I would say the best halal KFC around. I travel all the way from Mount Roskill to Mount Wellington as it is that good. Staff are also so friendly. Was waiting once with my kids and one of the guys working came over with a bag of chips for my kids to eat while waiting. If this isn't true kindness then I don't know what is. Premises were clean, no bad smell like other comments have suggested, staff are nice people and waiting time is reasonable if you want hot cooked chicken and not soggy pieces. Will order again and again from them. Thank you very much 😊

The kebab is also delicious, the meat is delicious. one thing to improve in the kebab... mix the ingredients nicely. what I got was a kebab that had sort of half veg and half meat. BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN TOWN! It's always fresh, succulent, flavourful and crispy. Only looses a star because the wait time is quite unbelievable. Last time we were waiting 40 minutes for just two of us. Generally you'll be waiting at least 30 minutes. So you'll get the best chicken of your life but you'll have to wait a long while first. I also wish the fries had more of a wow factor.

It's a go to place if you are craving for KFC crispy fried chicken which is halal too. The taste is not entirely synonymous to kfc fried chicken but is definitely good. The servings were generous. Even though I opted for the spicy burger, I think i liked the broast more that came along in the meal pack. The place was cozy with limited space. We were lucky to find a spot for 6. Seems overpriced for the kind of food they sell, plus takes a lot longer to prepare food than other takeaways. But food was good only problem is we ordered extra chips and didn’t get them. Maybe it was a mistake i didn’t notice till I got home.
