Very nice place with very friendly staff greeting you on arrival. The waitress was very good with going through the specials. It was a short wait for the food to arrive. After the meal she brought over their dessert selection and explained it all. Well worth the visit

A little bit of a hidden gem on Lincoln Rd. We've driven past so many times without realising this is an actual restaurant. The food taste and presentation is excellent. The staff are so nice and attentive. The only thing letting this place down is how much food we got for the price. Definitely worth a try.

Very nice, high end restaurant in West Auckland for special occasions. Would expect something like this in Ponsonby or Parnell. Presentation was on point. Staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the Special sharing entree for 2 which had variety so opted for another entree, the Seafood Chowder as my main. My husband originally wanted the venison main but they had just run out. The disappointment was quickly deterred by their suggestion in substituting the venison with lamb loin instead which turned out to be a good idea as it was cooked well. Would come again to have dessert with main next time as we were too full to have any which we noticed the staff visually presenting the dessert options in glasses (clingwrap covered) on a tray to other customers.

An unfortunately disappointing experience with the food for me. Have been looking forward to coming here for months. Service and staff were friendly and amazing. They stated the Pata Grande was one of their signature dishes. It came out and was basically four chunks of crackling with almost no meat. It was sad to have this as the first experience given the price. On the other hand, partner had the veal and that was great. Lots of meat and delicious.

Easily the best vegetarian dish I’ve had in a long time. Also tried the pork ribs, (my son had) which were spot on. Generous portions, great fresh food. Highly recommend.

The service was amazing.friendly staff. The food was beautifully presented and flavorsome. The steak was so juicy and succulent loved every bit that was on my plate. Entrée presentation was so so amazing 👏 and the flavor of the prawn noodles wow. And the goat cheese. Chikos we will definitely support you again highly recommended. Looking for a different place and found this. Had the platter and the ribs. (Pics are of the ribs and venison). It's different but worth the step out of my comfort zone. Will definitely do this again.

Went there last night. Service good, people very friendly. Food ok nothing special - we expected it to be expensive and wonderful food - unfortunately disappointed.

Got treated to a nice dinner. Food quality was real good and service was great. Plate presentation was beautiful. I found our server lacking in a bit of knowledge about the wine list. Still Chickos is a great place for that spacial occasion.

Love their food~ Been there twice now~ 1st time: had thai pork ribs and braised beef to share between 2. Was so nice, pork was tender and tasty, beef was full of flavour. I like how the dishes are designed to be shared and can also have it to yourself if you want. 2nd time: went back for the toasted sisig sushi, was delicious~ The dessert was introduced to you (physically shown to you) at the table rather than on a menu . Good potion size as well~ The waitress was also lovely~ Will definitely be back~

Chikos always has a special place in my heart when i have a hankering for good food, especially crispy pata( filipino style deep fried pork knuckles). The place is an awesome fusion of pacific rim dishes...so it's like a little bit of japanese,indonesian,malaysian, pasifika philippines, thai nz dishes in your mouth. The prices are very reasonable and the staff really looks after you. I love going to this place as the owners are very involve and i know that every dish served is made with love.

Very friendly, clean and organized place. We got surprised by the presentation of the food! Beautifully decorated and nicely mixed multi cultural tastes. This is the REAL fusion dishes!! We will try some sweets next time. Great place for casual celebrations/treats:)

Probably the best place to dine in West Auckland. Food is exquisite and carefully crafted. With decent portion size too. Lunch is great value. Highly recommended.

Great family night out and wonderful food

I have visited this restaurant twice in two weeks after never even hearing about it before. Previously, I thought Lincoln Road was all about greasy takeaways, but I was wrong, what a revelation. Both times the food was delicious and the service exceptional. Highly recommended.

Chikos is one of the few restaurants in West Auckland that offers beautifully plated dishes in the style of more popular fine dining options in the City. It's a good option for those wanting to celebrate a special occasion without the hassle of driving into the city proper. In terms of food, the dishes are cooked well. We had the pork belly, duck leg and raw fish. The kids were offered fish or chicken and chips but we ended up not going with that because the chips are fried in peanut oil and my daughter is allergic to peanuts. So the chef specially pan fried the fish instead with rice and broccoli. Even the children's dish was plated beautifully. Service was really attentive and our drinks were filled regularly. The highlight was the desserts as there were so many delicious options to choose from we ended up with the matcha tiramisu, coconut brûlée and the yam ie Halo Halo Delight. The reason why I gave this a 4 instead of 5 is that I found the dishes to be executed well but the combination of flavours and textures not quite hitting the mark of say the more popular established fine dining places. This should really be a 4.5 but if the chef manages to get this last part right, Chikos will definitely be giving other top restaurants in Auckland a good run for the money.

The food here is pretty good, the service was also on the whole, very good. The deconstructed Sushi/Sashimi was the highlight of our meal. The Confit duck special was very tender, mostly pretty tasty. The Pork hock was a fraction dry. Our only real issue of the night, was the Virgin Mojito which arrived in a small glass, less than half full. I did politely raise it, but was told it was how it was served and normal. For $9 I don't consider that even remotely reasonable. I'd return, but wouldn't order mocktails again.

A fantastic choice to have a nice dinner. Very friendly Service, the food varies from sea food to meat. Also deserts are great. You have also a good selection of wines. A clear recommendation.

We stopped here while I was working at the University Feb 2019 based on TA reviews. Pulling in it feels a little “strip mall warehousey”, but after you experience the service, presentation and palatial-assault, I believe you’ll agree they deserve a spot on the wharf!...

Love the effort put into the presentation of the meals. Just the right amount on the plate and live description of the deserts is a brilliant idea.

Ordered the family size ribs from their takeaway menu in Level 3. So delicious, beautiful presented for takeaways, great customer service and huge portion.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Appreciate the decor and real plants. Food looks and tastes amazing and has a really unique take on some dishes. Make sure you book in advance on busy nights. Desserts are great and very enticing. Could use more GF and DF options but all the items are at least clearly marked.

FOOD IS AMAZING AND SERVICE WAS AMAZING AS WELL..RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

A bit on the pricey side when it comes to food, but taste wise, it's amazing. The crispy pata (pork knuckle) is a must try. The steak, which is $40+, was actually really good. If you go as a group, some dishes are actually big enough to share. It's a must that you book in to secure a spot. Have been back multiple times already, and will definitely keep coming back. One thing to note is parking can be a bit tough, so be earlier for your booking. Or if you don't mind the walk, there are aide streets near by.

Mixed reviews, 2 from my family of 3 gave it a high score, the 3rd gave it a not so high. Good food, tasty and worth going back for a second time. Dessert menu is a tray of what is actually available, creative approach

Good service and food, even the presentation of the dessert we did enjoy. Even the staff and owner was very polite to our toddler. Only downside was when it was time to pay the bill we were gonna split it with our friends. When I pointed out that the price was incorrect the lady at the till rudely gave me a calculator and said to me to recompute our order. It did turn out that it was overcharged. My wife even saw the lady looked annoyed when giving me the calculator. It was such a shame that the night had to end that way and we might not go back because of this experience.

First time here. Very quiet after the long weekend but can't believe more people aren't here. The meal was fantastic. Even my kale side dish was bursting with flavour. Hope West Auckland appreciates this high calibre restaurant on the doorstep. Great food, service and setting. We will be back.

Great Hidden Gem on Lincoln Road, 5 Star food and service at a reasonable price. Customer service is excellant, greeted at the door and made to feel like a VIP. If you want an experience, treat yourself or impress the other half look no further, book, book, book you will find yourself telling evrybody.

We went for dessert today and the selection was amazing and the 3 we tried were delicious. A tray is brought to your table so you can see exactly what you were getting before ordering. Great staff, very helpful.

Food was fantastic and a good range of drinks. Staff were very friendly and had good knowledge of the menu, very impressive considering how many different deserts they have. I thought it was very well priced too. The only negative I have is that the gap between course was to short, however it is probably a reflection on how busy they are as they want to free up tables for other customers. I most definitely will be back in the future.

Second time at this place and had to order takeaway due alert level 3 but the food was just as incredible as last time. Nasi goreng bagus was a beautiful lamb meal as was the chicken enchiladas. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The staff were very friendly and personable. Highly recommend this place. Looking forward to our next visit.

Food was creative and tasted good. Services were good, especially from the Japanese lady who explained the cuisines to us. It was expensive. An entree was on average $20+ and main around $30 to $40. The setting was lovely but wasn't worth the price to me and my friends. This might be because we didn't have a reservation and was seated outside.

Been here once before, had best dining experience! Staff was so kind and attentive, food was absolutely fabulous! Every bite tasted new 😁. Their tiramisu is amazing too. Couldn't forget the taste so had to come back for takeaway tiramisu. Just waiting it to melt down.. You are missing out big time if you haven't tried chikos

Was absolutely blown away! It’s Father’s Day and we didn’t book a table. We started walking outside and saw that there were 2 empty tables so the waitress put them together for us. It was a beautiful day and sitting outside was ideal. We ordered and were told the kitchen is busy so it will be a bit of a wait.. we were fine with that. All our waitresses were so friendly and kept checking on us. We ended up getting the dessert first as we were hungry- the mango pudding was out the gate! And the Apple crumble was nice too but not as nice. He Yakitori was Delish! Be wedges were nice too but I thought that it was kinda like skins but still wedges.. anyway it was nice. The steamed pork buns were insanely good too! We had a great time and would happily visit again

Love eating here - the staff are always so pleasant and friendly and the food - a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for - awesomeness. The desserts - exquisite! They should have tasting platters of the dessert - would be a big hit!

We just ordered our first take out after lockdown and I am over the moon happy! What incredible food!!!! We had the best dinner, loved every bite, and ordering and pick up was so easy! It was a great dining experience as the dishes prepared by Chef Robert were well presented to the finest details. The tastes were exquisit from the fresh ingredients. We had a appetiser tray to share and good presentation. The main courses of Venison and Lamb were nicely done. The friendly and detailed service were a delightful dining experience. Excellent value for 5 star fusion cuisine in Henderson. Well recommended for casual and event dining.

Went for a birthday lunch. Really good food with great presentation. We had mains which were all below $30 (expect to pay in the $30s in town), and dessert (save room for dessert fantastic selection). Recommend.

Really pricey here, had scallops as entree. Was given 3 scallops & mini salad, this cost $20.00. My main was small Tuna steak & few vegetables, cost $39.50 my partner had Beef dish, similar price. Restaurant is situated on main road in Henderson. For this price you'd expect amazing views, not one of a carpark. My thoughts, the food is lovely but needs to be so over priced.

We love going to Chiko’s. My favourite is the Pork Knuckle. We usually share, but need to make sure there is room for dessert. There is a huge selection. The Best in the West!

Excellent Food. Desserts are especially great. Their plum soda and strawberry ice-cream soda are also awesome. Slight expensive but worth it. Recommended for special occasions. Look at their ever changing specials menu.

We have been to a few "fine dinning" restaurants before. But this hands down beats all of them. It was a bit pricey but soo worth it. The whole drive home we were just talking about how much we loved the food. I would highly recommend going there. You won't be disappointed.

Great food, good service

Went there for dinner, the chowder was fantastic and I especially liked the flavour of the smoked tuna. The black angus steak was cooked to perfection however for me I found the dish a little too busy with too many flavors going on, the potatoes were over cooked slightly and had gone slightly watery (otherwise would have given 5 stars). The tiramisu was great. Not sure why people are saying the portions are small in other reviews as I found them to be generous. Will go back.

My favourite Auckland eatery (the other being Gemmayze St). The dishes are so bright and colourful and imaginative. Top picks are the pork knuckle, quesadilla and deconstructed sushi (so good!). Do yourself a favour and head out West one evening.

Once upon a time a wonderful Japanese lady met an amazing food artist from the Philippines. Time past and these two amazing creatives moved to New Zealand to open the most innovative fusion restaurant in West Auckland. When eating at Chikos, your palette will travel across the most delicate yet intricate flavours and textures. This is a place where East meets West and where food becomes art. Unforgettably delicious!

It has to be said that the ever changing menu keeps things fresh and new. The food would almost be considered fine dining for West Auckland but it still has a wholesome homely feel .... with good cuts of beef, lamb shanks, pork knuckles and you can't forget seafood. A quick enquiry into the fish of the day may have your mouth salivating with antispation. Overall a pleasant dining experience for many or that special someone. Pricing is on the higher side but well worth it. Save room for the dessert cart....

Fine dining on Lincoln Rd starts at Chikos. Warm, friendly and professional team, we are always well looked after. A top class team in the kitchen, I'm always impressed by the range of options in each menu section, especially desserts! You'll never go home hungry :)

Four of us for lunch today whilst over from the UK visiting family. Amazing presentation, the best I have seen. Beautiful colours, textures and interesting food fusion. Chowder, Quesidillas and Chicken Laska were among the dishes we tried. We ordered starters and mains which turned out to be a bit overboard for lunch so took doggy bags home. The dog will not get a look in. The prettiest meal award goes to this place. Highly recommend.

I've been here twice now. Amazing experience both times, it's a really nice environment and the desserts are amazing there's nowhere else. I've been that does it all so good. We'll be back for more with our friends

Interesting Japanese fusion dishes, would love to try everything on their menu. There is no need to check out the desserts from their dessert cabinet, because they bring the 'cabinet' over to your table and explain what each dessert/cake is, awesome service.

Fusion filipino and Japanese, European food are very interesting taste and decorated beautifully, also dessert was awsome. Probably one of the best and fancy restaurant in West Auckland area. However they charge credit card surcharge without notice. If you don't want to pay credit card surcharge, pay cash or bank cheque cards. It was first experience to pay credit card surcharge in fancy expensive restaurant. Dinner menus are slightly over priced. Recommend for lunch.

First time here, food was fabulous, if not a little bit cold. Waitress was a natural at her job and advised us on a choice of food available. The desert was to die for. Certainly this will not be our last time here.

Love the quesadilla and beef rendang. Full of flavor. I've been there twice and service is amazing. Staff are always attentive. Food is just as good as it looks.

Delicious food and the presentations are always amazing. We found some food were too salty (karaage and fish and chips) but otherwise, we like this restaurant a lot.

Have ridden by bicycle from Devonport with friends to have lunch at Chikos 4-5 times over a year and every time have had interesting food and great service. Every week I ride a different destination and café. There may be cheaper restaurants but few that offer better value. The Japanese fusion with pacific food is a winner. Unfortunately I do not eat desserts but they certainly look good, even to die for. I have taken samples home for the family. PS visit the Port/Shery vineyard shop next door, another must.

When looking at the menu I wasnt to sure on the food. However i had the lamb shanks and it was amazing!!! We also had the cassava chips and dip and they were amazing also

This place is a revelation - glorious food, lovely staff and a fantastic atmosphere. I can't say enough about how much I have enjoyed my visits to Chikos - and how I roll out of there each time! Just when you think you can't eat any more of the delicious food (and licked the plate clean), they bring out the deserts. Definitely my go-to restaurant - and I live on the North Shore!
