Beautiful views to the beach, friendly welcome downstairs as we came in and upstairs seating us, really felt welcome. The drinks and food were delivered in good time. We ordered the meaty platter and thought the taste was not as tasty as previously but still very good - it comes down to personal preference. One of our favorite restaurants in Orewa, will definitely go back and can highly recommend it 👍 👌

Nice environment, good views if you're upstairs! Drinks are not bad, food is, well, average. A bit of variety would appeal to a broader group of people. It wasn't a bad time, but I'll probably try around and see where I settle. Best thing? I could actually hear myself think!

Excellent food, staff kept us appraised of the progress on our order. Regularly checked if we wanted more drinks and the restaurant was in immaculate condition. 10/10 would grab some bites and brews again!

Stopped in for dinner. Ordered the surf n turf plus some sides for the family. Food was okay, nothing special. The salt and pepper squid looked delicious however was super rubbery and hard to eat unfortunately. Service was fast. Would stop in here for a beer and chips but probably not a family meal again.

Fantastic service. Wandered in for a table for two for lunch on a busy day and didn’t feel like we were a burden. Lovely staff and food was spectacular! Didn’t wait too long for our food either even on a very busy day. Well done!

Food well presented but overall pretty average. I had the market fish, crushed potato and vegetables. Veges al dente which was good. Snapper was a small portion. Banoffee pie with ice cream was so so. Service was average.. waiters wore masks over their mouth only and once the main had been served we were forgotten until I walked over to get the dessert menu. Given the previous reviews and its overall rating I was very disappointed

Nice view from upstairs, the food is usually good but every now and again you get a dud. Today I had a chicken burger that was cooked too quickly and it maintained its grizzly chewy chicken texture. Wasn’t very nice. Staff are generally friendly and the place is always packed so it’s quite loud.

Had a late lunch at the street side tables with the pulled pork tacos and the surf and turf platter. Food was awesome and the platter was the winner for value for money in terms of variety and quantity. Great way to end a day at the beach.

Loving the service at our local Cafe in Orewa, a must visit if you are in the area. The picture is of our French toast meals, a very scummy way to fill yourself up. They are located just 150m from the beach so definitely a good option for stopping in halfway down the Orewa Beach in your morning walk.

Good views, good food, good beer. Three different atmospheres, downstairs, upstairs and outside. Downstairs for live music, sports viewing, outside for dogs. Upstairs for dinner, snacks and groups. Wonderful views of Orewa beach and the Moana reserve! They sell, on tap, the Deep Creek range of beers - which are absolutely delicious. Along with a menu that makes sense, ranging from tapas, seafood, salads, nibbles, tacos, steaks, burgers, pork belly, fish, ribs and desserts.

Generally a lovely restaurant. Good service, good food...except...ordered scallops in Mothers day and they were dreadful. Seemed like they weren't even cooked. Didnt want to complain as I was being treated to lunch. Please Coast...fix this...everything else was good as usual.

It's a good spot! Good food and drink, only bad thing is I think it's time for a deep clean, tables still sticky once wiped, corners and windows sils dusty, light fittings dusty, just needs some spring cleaning.....great setup with the place next door! Good staff!

Four of us arrived at Coast on Saturday night without a booking. They were full but the quick thinking Chris found us a "special" table, which was absolutely perfect. The food was great as usual but Chris totally made our night. His food and drinks knowledge and relaxed but amazingly efficient service was fabulous. Thanks Chris, we will be back!

Mr Miyagi never fails to satisfy. The calamari was great, except the salad that accompanied it was completely different each time. We ordered 2 in a row and the first was avocado + tomato and the second was mungbeans + other stuff. Be nice to have some predictability.

These guys are responsible for my recent addiction to ribs. Absolutely Amazing! Their meat platter is highly recommended as well. Great atmosphere (especially upstairs overlooking the beach on nice evening) and reasonable prices as well. Also, the beer is not terrible - not terrible at all.. Looking forward to going back soon.

1st time there after a hike n we found the food was awesome especially the fish was fresh n squid not too bad n salad was simple but beautiful with that sweet balsamic. Disappointed with the mousse though as it tasted like it was from a packet made... not real chocolate flavor but plasticy texture on our palette. Otherwise will give a four/5 stars. Manager was courteous n friendly ☺.

There's been a change of staff since I was last there. All very friendly and attentive. I wish they'd do something with the menu. It's so ho-hum and not a great selection. All the meals came very quickly and were nice and hot. I was surprised that my fish was battered for my fish taco's. The people that I was with were happy with their meals.

Good staff found us a table for 8 at upper level despite being a really busy Saturday lunchtime, gave the 2 children plenty of attention, good drinks, nice food (more veg options would be good), great service and not that expensive. Prime spot by the beach and reserve.

The food came surprisingly fast considering how busy it was. But somehow it still managed to come out cold. The chips were dry, flavorless and mildly room temperature. The chicken burger was ok at best. The surf and turf came out well, especially for dollar value Not bad value for money though. Also everything you touch feels greasy and unclean. I.e. the menus, the ketchup bottles, even one of our glasses came out dirty.

Came in here tonight, staff were all very friendly, atmosphere was nice and the waitress who greeted us at the front was very thorough and made us feel very looked after, which we appreciated a lot. We asked if they could do a vegetarian version of the Nacho's, and were told we could, which was great as I think most restaurants should provide this kind of diversity in their menu, as they open up their demographic to a whole lot of people. The Food came out tremendously quick! But with our nachos, we weren't very impressed, It was just canned baked beans, (not a lot of it either, which i don't know if i'm grateful for or disappointed about) on top of corn chips, with Guac, sour cream and cheese. Now, i work on the line in a busy restaurant myself, and I understand how it can get when people come in who are picky, or have dietary requirements, It can be time consuming and stressful and y'all had a full restaurant. But I wouldn't have minded waiting longer for a better meal (which you could provide with a baked bean base even, sauteed vegetables, fresh tomato, herbs, spices, whatever), or have been refused the meal and told to choose something else from the menu. Anyway, i decided to give a 4 star review still, because I watched the care our waitress took in dealing with the situation, she truly took pride in the restaurant and knew that the kitchen was capable of more than what we were provided with. I watched as other food came out, it all looked delicious and beautifully presented. We didn't have to pay for our meal, which i appreciated. I would come back, I'd probably go for a meal with meat, because they looked crazy delicious, but I just wanted to leave a review to maybe improve the vegetarian experience for someone else, or just get the waitress some praise for being a lovely legend.

Food was pretty good, got the blackened chicken soft tacos and was quite pleased with the taste. Starting from the beginning we had to wait a lengthy amount of time watching all the waiters and waitresses ignore our general direction and walk past over and over only for a waitress to come up and ask if we wanted any drinks, we kindly refused and said we would just like to order our food at the same time, she then said okay cool and walked off. That same waitress then walked by after clearing a table and dropped a fork on our table and then picked it up and continue without cleaning up. Later on after ordering the kumera chips they arrived as quarters and when we said something we were rudely told that that's just their way of making chips, though she took them and replaced them with normal chips, later on we had another waiter come over and say that someone put down on the menu that they were chips when they were in fact bites, so who's lying? Good food but service was poor and no one seemed to care.

The menus that we were given was so dirty, full of food stains and oil marks. When asked for a clean menu I was told its being printed. The food was average compared to the cost and service was bad, had to ask for knives and forks after food arrived and dirty plates was not collected at all when finished with meal. Last time i will be supporting this establishment.

I want to personally give a shout out to AP & the amazing team @ Coast Orewa. My mother in law recently lost her long term health struggle and when we needed somewhere perfect to celebrate her life and connect as family and friends, AP was more than helpful in assisting us during this very hard time. The team was there for every need from helping to set up, to turning UP the music just how she would have wanted it. The platters that we ordered to allow everyone something to eat were absolutely amazing and so fresh. On what would normally be such a sad day, they really helped us to celebrate her life. Ordered kids eggs + soilders. The eggs had obviously been cooked in the poaching water with vinegar as the shells were all crumbly (eaten by the acid) and they were served firm so hopless for dipping soilders into. My calamari was ok, nothing special but not bad, the dressing on the salad was very sweet. Service was fine.

This place was pretty good - ribs were A++!! A heap of meat on them. The beers were great - service was quite slow but the staff were very friendly. The kumara bites were fantastic however the hot aioli was rather hot! I needed some extra regular aioli to help reduce the chilli flavour. They could use with some outdoor heating on the deck upstairs that overlooks Orewa beach. Other than that, overall definitely worth a visit... the unisex bathrooms are lovely and the atmosphere is very enjoyable!
