We bought 2 takeaway pizzas- Hawaiian, and the Special. Thoroughly enjoyed them both, were not heavily seasoned with salt which is just how we like them. Thank you to the chef. Will be back again soon. We have dined in the restaurant quite a few times and the food is always good.

I have been going here for over 20 years. I get depressed if it's been over 3 months between visits. Amazing service, absolutely delicious food, I recommend the pizzas. The lasagne is unbelievably thick and exquisite. This is our little secret in this community absolutely love them!

SUPER is the best word to describe this place. Super delicious food (and very generous portions). Super kind and friendly staff.I haven't booked a table in advance and even though they found a way to accommodate us. Best Italian food I've had in Auckland so far.

Went here with some family. The service was lovely and the food was pretty good. I got the mignon steak which was cooked really nicely. The fat was rendered so well it just melted. However the mash potato that came with it was really dry and had no sauce to try smooth it out. We had the seafood chowder and garlic bread for started and they were lovely, however the chicken livers were only so so as the sauce was very thin and so the livers weren't coated with flavour. All in all I would go back again :) Thank you!

A nice little restaurant, feels quite Italian to be honest, not the overly big commercial-like one that I used to go to and had a fancy impression. My foods were great, colourful and.... tasteful!! I had mussels for appetiser and traditional spaghetti bologne haha since I had "difficulty in selection" syndrome 😁😁 very delicious food, may have to wait a little bit, tonight was bit crowded. Best to reserve it first, I guess. I showed up by my colleagues' suggestion, lucky there's still a small table. The staff were nice and attentive, but they gave me just enough attention which I really liked since I got to enjoy my peace and meal and atmosphere. Full of family & friends-types of customers there. Will come back to try more of the foods there.

Having been invited by a group of friends, this was the first time I'd been here. In fact, I'd never noticed this restaurant or heard it's name. I have been seriously missing out. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance; the staff are lovel, service excellent and the food is delicious. As a large table we all shared: Beef Lasagne, Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Fettuccine, Beef Cannelloni, Garlic Bread, Calamari, Marinara Pizza and the Sette Soldi Pizza. All were really good. The Chicken Fettuccine and Cannelloni were exceptional. Highly recommended!

One of the best Italian resturant in the South side Brisbane. This a family owned Italian restaurant that serves good quality and reasonably priced food. Very clean premises and friendly people specially Cane (the owner)and his wife. We are living nearby and regularly visiting this resturant or just order a takeaway. I would strongly recommend it.

This is our favourite little gem. We travel to Auckland usually at least twice a year from Rarotonga and this is always the first place we crave. The owner is so lovely and the staff are great as well. Not to mention the amazing food!!!!! Genuine and authentic through and through. Can’t wait to go back again and again. It's my favorite place for taking my family out for dinner. We had for entry chicken liver in a wine sauce, Hawaiian pizza, calamari salad. For main we ordered fish broth with mussels, calamari,prawns ,fish in a bowl accompanied with yummy bread, scotch fillet with mushroom sauce. For dessert we had best tiramisu cake and chocolate orange cheesecake. So much food that we take a home so much.

I've tried my first calzone around 2 years ago and I fall in love. I tried pastas too and the quality is excellent. I definitely recommend it if you are looking for delicious food.

As of this writing, I'm on vacation and decided to try this place, as it was 2 blocks from my hotel. I had the Risotto Marinara, Cheese Bread, and Tiramisu - all wonderfully delicious. Halfway through both small cheese bread and risotto dish, I was beginning to feel full, but powered on and also had dessert. Obviously, I got really full, but in a good way. Eventually, I'd like to go back to this place when I visit Auckland again.

Just the two of us dined here Saturday night without a booking but would recommend booking as this cosy restaurant is excellent and very popular. I have been coming here since before it was a restaurant when it was still only half its size, well over 20 years, but not for a while. DSS remains the best Pizza in Auckland all this time. In Italy I could not find Pizza this good.

Pesto bread yum, risotto tasted like bolied rice with sauce chicken mushrooms added not that rich risotto flavour at all, pork belly was dry pork roll crackling was soft. Over all not impressed won't be returning.

So yummy. Restaurant is a little cramped when busy and at peak we waited about 35 mins for the food to arrive... so a little disappointing but the seriously yummy food makes up for it. I'll be back to see if the wait times were just a one off :)

Had a lovely meal here in Jan 2010. I had the Penne and my friend had the Lasagne. Both were of top quality for the style of food expected. Service was good and the food was served very very quickly. Overall a great local restaurant. No wonder they've been around since 1975.

Superb pasta dishes! If you like creamy sauce I recommend Fettuccine de sette soldi one. You won't stop eating it - it's that good! Service is excellent, very efficient, friendly and appear at the right time. Better Italian food than what I had in Rome!

Sadly, in this day and age people usually write when they have a gripe or complaint. I am writing for a totally different reason. Last night ( 25/6/15), on a recommendation, I took five people to dine at Da Sette Soldi restaurant. All five are professional entertainers who have extensively travelled – and dined – globally. This unpretentious restaurant turned out to be a gem. An open hearth fire gave a cozy warmth on a cold night. Two of my party had appetisers and all five main courses. No two had the same dish and all concurred that the dishes were exactly as advertised and impeccably prepared. I opted for the chicken risotto. The best risotto I have ever had was at the Trattoria l’Antica in Sorrento, Italy where I dined frequently. This came in a very close second. I would give it a 9 out of 10. One of the biggest assets of this restaurant is the staff. Brilliant! The all female wait staff are extremely professional. Silent, efficient. Not once did they hover over the table but were instantly there when required. Bravo! I have only one tiny complaint. We had to leave this cosy warm ambiance and go out into a freezing night to get home. We’ll definitely be back.
