After a terrible experience at the Manukau branch it was refreshing to have a pleasant meal at the Highland Park restaurant. The staff were lovely and the food came out quickly but freshly cooked. Food quality isn’t great but not terrible either. A good meal when you just crave breakfast in the afternoon.

We only had dessert but it was very nice. Clean. Well set up regarding covid. Good sized portions. Its a family restaurant so ideal for families. If you want a quiet intimate dinner its not your place. The lime vodka milkshake was on point 🤣

Haven't been to Denny's in years, but the kids really wanted some dessert after dinner. Came at 8pm on a Friday, waited 7 mins to be acknowledged and seated. The restaurant was fairly busy, so I was dreading the long wait for my dessert. Luckily it came 10 mins after ordering. The welcoming service is lacking

They some how misplaced our order and we waited, after a while the manager or the lady was in the front counter informed us about the problem, they gave some complimentary garlic which was nice and the girl that took our order was upset and apologetic, thanks to the manager, you have trained your staff well, so friendly and how they approach us! Me and my family were happy especially me that I didn't have to cook.

Bit of a wait but the food was as expected from Denny's. I've always enjoyed their ultimate omelette, not a fan of the sauce on eggs benedict or the salmon meal but that's just me. Curly fries were awesome.

Took my 3boys here for dessert, didn't wait too long maybe afew mins before a staff member came to see us and showed us our table. We ordered bread/butter pudding, hot fudge cake, single and double sundaes. YUMMO. didn't wait too long. Food was yummo. A pity though the cost of single scoop sundae for $5.50 is not worth it hence 4star rating. Clean and tidy restaurant, will most likely return back.

My husband and i went on Valentines night 9pm, just before level 3 11.59pm. Our waitress was amazing, so polite and the food was soo good💯💯

Satisfied and full. Always plan to eat something different but ALWAYS end up ordering the same thing. 😂 Kids very HAPPY with they're meals. Good size meals for what you pay and if you order something from the menu on the tables you receive a kids meal free 😁 so win win.

Not too expensive. In addition, they will deliver you good quantities for every dish you order. For some items, I do not like the dishes. The place is busy and have nice atmosphere.

Only go for breakfast... very nice could do with a upgrade but hey staff friendly, food good coffee hot it worth a visit.

We understand that you have a one table payment policy, but there was no other person waiting to pay & we 3 couples could easily have split the bill. But not acceptable.?? We have been to Manukau a month ago & New Lynn Dennys last week & have never had a problem? In fact New Lynn let every diner/s pay separately, it was done efficiently & without a problem. Very disappointing that Highland Park gave no other option & expected 1 couple to pay the entire amount! Maybe you don't need our patronage?? Will think twice before returning to this Dennys!

I loved this dennys!!! After having an bad experience at Manukau Dennys, coming here was just the topping of the cake☺️☺️☺️They had a lovely service, We didn't wait long for our meals, Friendly staff👍and just an amazing experience to have. All our food was cooked to perfection and I would totally recommend going there whenever you need that quick fix for great tasting food❤️❤️❤️

Good friendly service. Steak was nice at medium rare Perhaps cheery style tomatoes for salad next time.

6 of us for breakfast, could have been more onto refilling the bottomless coffee cups, the brekkie meals were enjoyed.

On Arrival: Warmly greeted. Seated immediately. Food: Exactly what I ordered. Delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Tasted exactly how I thought it would. No issues. 10/10. Service: Server very pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately when she went on her break, no servers oversaw her section even though the restaurant was not full. The table behind me appeared to want to order more but left after waiting so long for service. A staff member went to find our server when we asked for a dessert menu. Recommend management provide appropriate cover to allow for staff to take the breaks which they are entitled to.

If you like to enjoy having food in a 70s style restaurant, Denny's is a good choice, I recommend this restaurant for breakfast or brunch not for lunch or dinner as the quality of main courses is not very high,otherwise I was happy with friendly staffs and portion size.

Had the pleasure of eating here on my way past. Club sandwiches were great and at a good price. Recommended, and hoping they come to Hamilton soon :). Thanks Joanne.

Recently attended with my family. Has been many moons since I last sat at this restaurant. Ordered only dessert. Our order trickled out one by one and then one of them was forgotten. It was not until we prompted the waitress that it was on its way. Canny! Was just an ok experience. Fudge cake was delicious and snow ball just wasn’t how it used to be.

Come here every occasion Welcoming is good and greeted us Sat down and ordered some food Within 10 minutes, food came and it was delicious, recommend the nachos! 😋

Just a bit of advice for the service, despite the busy of Mother's day, be mindful of your service to be professional & make sure that everyone is important please. Check your utensils used for serving food $ drinks please. Some jars used for water smell like beer😥😥.. Maybe next time, it will be improved. Thanks anyway for today 😍😍😍

Very hearty meals! We (couple) got 2 millennium burgers with shrimp salad and fish assortment and we didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day :D Put some pic of breakfast menu :)

Tonight my family and I went in for some desert. Seating was great food was pretty good and waiting time wasn’t bad. But they did forget one of my orders however it was ok as one of the staff members who was walking around checking on everyone managed to sort it out quickly.

It's not as welcoming as it used to be. A lot of staff are arrogant. Have seen menus thrown on the table, have had a server physically push my hand over so that she could put a dish that we had been waiting on even while I am eating at the moment. It's not that we were making her wait. She came and just pushed, put the food and walked off. Some staff are still nice but the overall Dennys experience is long gone unfortunately.

Was ok. Food took long to come which is understandable given the order but it was all cold. Was too hungry to complain so ate it anyways. Prawn skewers - cold and just so so Herb grilled chicken- was also cold but seasoned well Beef lazanya - nothing special Kids corn dog and curly fries was good

Our server Sharon was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and she gave fantastic service with a beautiful smile. Food was delicious and will definitely go back again and again.

Been a few times in the past 6 months. Been pretty decent. Good customer service, good food mostly. My only complaint is, you should ALWAYS feed the kids first.

Cheap $9 lunch deals at the Highland Park branch. Good size meal and great value. Not gourmet but filling. We only do lunch there.

For a quick meal the wait isn't too long. I ordered the pork loin. The salad is fresh and crisp. But I feel the pork was almost boiled...the crackling was soft like it had been boiled but tasted juicy not dry. Love the burgers and kids can get a really good deal.

We had very good time here. It is open till 11PM and we reached there around 10:20 and yet we were treated with an extremely professional manner. They all waited patiently before we finished out food. Food was also nice. Loved the place. Thanks guys.

Food was delish, however, desert took 30mins to come even though we had ordered it with our mains.. 2girls had already come by to see if we ok and we told them we were still waiting for dessert and this was after they had already cleared our table from our mains..lol they lucky we were full from our food, but i get annoyed easily when it comes to waiting, so I was just about to walk out when it came 🙄 yes I'm fat, I ended up staying and ate it.. cake was yummy lol Anyways the Asian man that works there.. dnt know if he's the manager, but he is awesome! Just plain old school, customer service with a smile and sooo inviting!! Apart from that incident, all staff were great and the food was amazing moist.. p.s don't buy the sampler.. not worth $18 haha

I went there for dessert in the afternoon it was not as busy like Manukau Branch and I found the service in Highland Park compared to Manukau Branch very different maybe I expected more from this place actually better no it wasn't it was disappointing I was not satisfied , I will not return I will stay with Manukau the service let me down on this one the dessert was ok.

Went for dessert date with my husband as I was craving the hot fudge cake and it was YUM as always! My husband's apple pie didn't look too appetizing and he said it looked dated. I'm guessing everything is pre-made and just reheated in a microwave. He also got a waffle and he thought it had little toffee like granules in it. I thought maybe it was a hokey pokey ice cream but he didn't think so. I'm not sure which waffle of the 2 he ordered lol, it wasn't bad but not the greatest either. He still enjoyed!

There were 6 of us that ordered dishes at the same time & the fact that they were all served nice & hot was amazing!

We showed up at highland park about 11.20 pm on 13.09.19 we were seated fast and our server let us know kitchen is closing in 20 mins . She was amazing. Polite ,didn't rush us . We knee we were late at showing up and it's closing soon but our server was so professional . Thank you for making my late birthday dinner with hubby a very enjoyable date.

My aunty and I had dinner at your guys restaurant yesterday evening (26/09/20). Our server we had, Sharon was amazing!! She had really good customer service and served us so well! :-) Very nice to talk to, good conversation, when she would come past us she would check to see how we were doing and apologised so much for the wait times, which wasn’t even long :-) You guys are very lucky to have her as a worker and she should definitely get a payrise and she makes me want to keep going back to this particular Denny’s as she is so lovely! Ka pai for the awesome mahi! :-) Thank you Sharon for making last night an awesome experience!! :-)

Food was great. But the atmosphere not. The host has no personality of politeness. Excuse my wording. Anyway the staff were fantastic.

Went to Highland Park branch. Average place to eat for a cheap bite. In my experience depending on which server is on duty, some days you will get seated faster than others. Waiting time for food is average. Bathrooms are always clean, fully stocked, no problems there. Just another fast food place, no biggie. Also, protip: be nice to your server.

This is the best Denny's of them all. The service is always top notch and the food is consistently good. Perfect for a yummy dessert or affordable comfort food

We often use Denny's as an alternative to the restaurants when we visit the Sky City casino. Denny's is low-medium cost but great quality in food preparation. And the variety they offer is amazing. My favorite is the Grand Slam breakfast. It's just a short walk across the street from the street level entrance to Sky City Casino. If you are familiar with the Denny's in the USA you will know they offer everything on the menu at any time of day or night. Good food and good for the budget.

I guess speaking from personal experience, it was better than Broncos, as broncos didn't have much options as Denny's does.

Best place ever, omgoodness, Highland Park Dennys is amazing. 1/ Great food ( See my pic 😊) Cracka Jack Breakfast .10/10 Loiuse cake with ice cream, whipped cream with and a cherry. 10/10 ( Forgot to take pic ) Apart from my poached eggs came out in a little bowl which i like, very good idea, but i had to soak the water up out of it with napkins, before tipping them on my toast, why so much water why any, whats that all about, not my job, please mention to chef, use correct utensil for a start, but they were perfectly cooked, also hard to find, it seems many Chefs go to Cooking School and dont get taught how to cook fried or poached eggs properly. 2/ Great prices Steak meals a bit pricey i think is all 3/ Hieneken $7 instead of $10 or $12 at other rip off places. 4/ Amazing deserts. Truely. So hard to find now days, i want desert like my mum would make and they do many many choices 👍 5/ waitresses are wonderful, manageress was onto it, making sure i got served fast. 6/ Lastly the rest room was the cleanest lav i have ever seen 10 stars thankyou for that Dennys, so many places neglect making sure these areas are actually clean everywhere, not just a signature on the wall. I used to go here 35 yrs ago when i was a teen and Dennys is still there, how good is that hasn't aged a day 😊 legend. I'll be back 😆 10 Stars ********** 👍 😊 💖

This place is fabulous and great services

Prefer to travel to Highland Park Dennys because the wait time at Manukau was horrendous. This Dennys is not that busy and has an enjoyable atmosphere. Also they give you extra milkshake which I am very grateful for considering the price but don't get this type of service anywhere else. I must also advise to never get the Currys we have tried the chicken and lamb at 2 dennys restaurants and appears like a frozen meal because it is very watery, has a very poor taste and the chicken is chewy. A very displeasing dish that the Highland Park gracefully deducted from our bill. Overall Highland Park is our favorite Dennys and we will continue to travel here from papatoetoe for the kind waiters, great service and atmosphere.

Great place to get food for your late night cravings I have been going to this Denny's branch for a while, mostly during the night and I've found the service to be really good. You don't have to wait long to be seated and the server will come visit you when they think you are ready to order. The food comes in a reasonable time and the food is consistently good. It is pretty pricey if you're only after the burgers and fries but the environment is very relaxed. I would recommend getting the curly fries or the criss-cut fries with cheese sauce.

We both had the senior eggs hash browns with toast very nice very reasonable too 😋👌

Not as good as I remember. Price is way to steep for the mains for the quality of food that you get. Will stick to my steakhouses for same price better meat quality.

Visited Saturday 04.05.19 17:30 seated immediately, awesome. Fantastic front of house, meal came out quickly - delish hubby had Sirloin Steak meal cooked to perfection Medium rare with veges. I had Chilli Fries. Ordered dessert after finishing our mains apple pie & hot chocolate fudge by this time the place was filled to capacity not a spare seat in site which highlights the fact that Denny's Highland Park is a popular hangout for the locals & to beat the rush you need to get there early before it gets really busy. Thank you for our delicious meal see you next time 😊

It's exactly what you expect it to be. Family restaurant that is the steak house equivalent of fast food with liquor. The staff are friendly and well presented. The food is pretty quick to arrive, and it tastes good... But chain restaurants good.

Went in on boxing day, service was slow and slack. Wasn't busy, only 2 waitresses on, 1 waitress took 2mins to deliver drinks, took half hour for our food, was very disappointed

This place is our family's favourite to go to because the quality is always consistent. The only downside is the interior a d exterior aesthetic. The outside looks like a summer Popsicle, the tables are outdated, the seats are worn out and the High chairs look soo old. Please look into re-branding!

I always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the food is hearty but they forgot to place our table's order and therefore we sat there waiting for a super long time. No discount or explanation was offered.

I'm always conflicted when I go to Denny's, they have so much choice that you can never decide unless you come with a preselected idea. Their presentation is not very good, and their food can vary from great to not so great. In this instance I was pleasantly surprised, I ordered the Bangers & Mash, it was well presented, filling, cheap, tasted good. Ticked all the boxes.

Shown to a table..Waitress marched ahead and threw the menus on the table and pointed for us to sit there. Asked for coffee..Asked for coffee..and..Asked for coffee..finally..The young woman that came to take our orders was pleasant..Service has certainly gone backwards since our last visit.

We are regulars here and most times enjoy our time here. Twice now we have noted staff chatting to the point of not noting when people are needing service. For us it's just getting a coffee and a top up. Food otherwise was good as always. We will be back.

Always a fantastic experience at this world-class establishment. Dennys has long been a classic dining experience. 4am pancakes, 3am buffalo wings, 11pm Kiwi Slam breakfasts, they will look after you every time. The thing that sets this Dennys at the pinnacle of the Dennys Pile? They give you the milkshake tin with your shake. With the tiny glasses that Denny uses (a small blip in the otherwise glorious serving efforts of this culinary juggernaut) the shakes have always been a little small. By giving you the tin, they effectively double your serving size. Glory everlasting. Families, friends, lovers. Everyone you know and hold dear will enjoy a Dennys moment.

The service was on the slow side. But food wasn’t too bad. Their breakfast selection is quite generous in portion size.

Kiwi slam hashbrown not cooked, meat done-ness not perfect. Staff needs training with friendliness, and condiment setting. Asked for a spoon, took 3x tries to get right.. At first was given a teaspoon, was told they don't have one. 2nd, was given a not-so-clean spoon.

Most breakfasts include filtered coffee. $3.40 extra for any other style. Consistently average food that hasn't changed over last 20 years.

Average customer service and the variety of mains has become a bit lacking. Rather disappointed during my last visit to find they no longer do a Nasi Goreng, my go to meal at Dennys, for the past 15 odd years

Big portions, for big eats. Reasonable quality in an American style diner

Except in holiday there have a lost of seats in morning for a quite and leisure breakfast, also the cook and price are attractive too.

Its Denny's so they are the same all over. Well cooked, speedy service and good prices too

It was ok. Service was a bit slow and took ages to clear our tables so we could order desert

We had a really good breakfast at Denny's. Massive food portions.

I gave them a 4star because they ran out of ketchup packs on the table and when I asked the girl for ketchup she gave me the whole bottle, cheers.

All the coffee ☕ you can drink and great pancakes 🥞 , can you ask for more? Really similar to the ones in USA 🇺🇸 but here the toilets are clean.

Got a small booth for 5 asked for bigger table. Was told not available because of cleaning. When we left saw people in the area I asked for. Very disappointing.
