An unassuming spot that's got so much more going for it than meets the eye from the outside. This is a place my brother would have loved to visit as the chef he was, because whilst they don't offer a lot of variety, they've mastered what they have. Bone marrow on toasted bread was good, potato skins perfect, pork hock great, and snapper sliders taking the cake. They've got a raw bar and what looks to be a good hand at making cocktails too. Very chic food to atmosphere in their own way I'd say. Oh, and I actually loved the metal water cups which is rare for me, but they kept it so cold on this hot day.
A.
Great food and atmosphere. It's not your typical eatery (it's quite small compared to other restaurants) but packed with food that's full of flavours. Always a bliss to dine here. Try their pork hock, lamb ribs and wedges. If you're here for some fresh seafood, go and have a look at their seafood bar. You're in luck if they have Te Kouma oysters in stock, they're amazing.
V.
Love the seafood there, tuatua and two types of oyster which includes Bay of Plenty Oyster and Coromandel Oyster. All the vegetables dish integrate new ideas into it, very impressive. Worth a try!
p.
Had lunch here today. Love the vibe. Friendly staff. The Russell oysters, fish sliders and the brisket were so delicious.
Also had the clams, the clams were yum but the coriander sauce needed a little something extra and the potato skins was ok.
Will definitely be back to try their other dishes.
I.
One of my new favorite places to have a meal and social drinks. The entrée was amazing, the steak... superb 😋 the house drinks... highly recommended. To top off a beautiful meal? The staff are very friendly 👍👍 I heard their breakfasts are good too. Looking forward to it.
B.
Quite popular venue, a venue for business meeting or casual visits. Friendly staffs. We are from AU, just walked in and still able to get seated. Amazed by the variety of the menu. Ordered Grilled sourdough flat bread; oyster and clams (very fresh); Kingfish sashimi, Pork hock (potato mesh on the side was also yummy).
J.
Depot is my favourite restaurant in Auckland. The lamb ribs are amazing and the oysters are always well shucked, I never get bits of shell.
I also think Depot is reasonably cheap considering the high standard of food.
B.
Very tasty food here. Will definitely come back. The pork hock is big in potion, it has a very crispy skin and the meat is very tender, a must try for meat lovers. The bone marrow is something I’ve heard about for a long time, but first time to try it today. It matches so well with the toasted sourdough. The marrow has just the right amount saltiness in it . The fragments bursts in your mouth without the any greasy taste in it. Really enjoy the meal today.
K.
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Auckland. The staff are amazing. Always a smile on their face and they look after you. We had the Grilled flounder with coconut sauce which was magic. The lamb ribs are always are go to with the fish sliders. We have to order them when we are here because again so flavorful and amazing. For dessert it’s always the sugar pie (which I got takeaway this time) and decided to have the Pecan Pie from Fed Street Deli which was exceptional as always.
C.
I come here on a regular basis, just outstanding food and service.
Delicious food.
Crazy good coffee.
금.
My first time visiting here. Big recomend on fish. It was very balanced meal. Salty fish, sweet eggplant and grilled bread. Worth to try grilled lettuce with ranch sauce. But. Oyster was just okay. Vinegraitte was too shallot-ish. I could taste too much shallot.
N.
Darn. Neat spot. Lovely light menu. Great service
I.
Had some oyster, lamb ribs, octopus and fish sliders - oysters and lamb ribs being the most memorable! We couldn’t eat so much and the waitress offered just one fish slider (instead of 3) which luckily we asked for it! It’s pretty good I thought.
Came here late afternoon and there were plenty of tables. From food, service to ambience, couldn’t fault anything at all.
The only one thing I found to be rather odd is wine by tap is served with water glasses rather than wine glasses.
Wouldn’t mind another visit if I’m in town again!
i.
It has been hard getting a table before COVID... And now, though still busy, but NO wait time... I do like the super chilled atmosphere and shared plates~ Right from the super thin pita bread with pumpkin puree, to the super refreshing kingfish sashimi with pear; the crisp & tender lamb ribs with 3mm of fat but they are flavourful; in comparison, the steak can be a little chewy and blunt... Cheese lovers😋, the grilled cheese should be named Melted cheese dip, such a guilty pleasure~ Finally, the fresh baked cookie is the classic western style dessert, warm, crunchy, soft, topped with chocolate coated vanilla ice cream😱 a little bit too sweet for me though....
A.
Oysters are insanely good and cold, fish-sliders and desserts never disappoint and the vibes are immaculate. However, they could improve their vegetarian options as I didn't enjoy my plate of iceberg lettuce with mayo nearly as much. Overall a good experience, just don't come here if you're vegetarian..
S.
one of my very favourite restaurants in auckland ever, the food and service never disappoints. everyone is lovely and welcoming and very accommodating. the quality of the food always tastes fresh which is amazing!
S.
Love depot aside from having to wait sometimes because it packed! Oysters so good, bone marrow to die for and pretty much can’t say I’ve ever seen or had anything from Depot that I haven’t loved or wouldn’t order. Top notch! Defo an Auckland fav place to dine at.
K.
Great food and amazing service from the team at Depot. Make sure you ask for the *secret menu* to order the Greener Placebo mocktail — mint, cucumber and non-alcoholic gin. Easily the best mocktail I’ve ever had!
V.
It’s been a long time we haven’t been here because it’s always so popular! The food is still fantastic! My favorite three dishes were CHARCUTERIE, CEVICHE and SNAPPER SLIDERS. 😆 Appreciated the great time with friends.
A.
The clam is nicely cooked with freshly baked bread, but sauce was salty for my liking (FYI, I can eat salad wo dressing) . Some bits of broccoli was too charred and tasted bitter. The pork hock is best, soft meat and crispy crackling.
D.
Nice place, friendly staff but $11.50 for a beer served in a can, no thanks!
V.
Super unique restaurant conveniently located in the downtown area near sky tower. Offering up some fantastic seafood and land based dishes.
To start, the complimentary hummus and pita really hits the spot with an aesthetically pleasing start. Pita perfectly soft, thin but pillowy.
Next up came a half dozen oysters two of each type on offer that day. Small but juicy and easy to differentiate between the different species. Super fresh, light amount of lemon juice pairs perfectly well.
Then came the half size bone marrow which was perfect for one person. Crunchy toasted French baguette with the creamy perfectly roasted marrow was a match made in heaven. Perfectly dressed with a nice tartness, the coriander salad in the corner was the perfect counterbalance.
The main dish was the clam with a pizza pita underneath. Loved the fresh clams that were each large, plump and juicy. The braising liquid was the perfect dressing.
To top it all off, the staff was super friendly, quick, paying at the counter was a breeze.
H.
Love this place. Oysters are average but you have to try their fish dish and the lamb. It’s so delicious.
S.
You can never go wrong at Depot. Not a huge menu but every dish is DELICIOUS! Second time i've been there in less than a week, no regrets ;)
Go, you won't be disappointed.
B.
Decided to eat here for the Bluff Bay Oysters that are now in season. Definitely worth eating here and trying different things that are not normally found on menus - popcorn duck tongue or bone marrow.
Atmosphere had a great vibe & very hip.
Waiter was very knowledgeable & with his recommendations on amount required for 3 people.
y.
One Of my favorite place to go~🥰 🤗
P.
Wow what a treat, this is a perfect example of modern NZ cuisine! We tried a wide range of the dishes and were extremely satisfied with everything. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and wines. The atmosphere was very nice for such a bustling restaurant. I am very glad to have dined here and would recommend to any traveler A+++
A.
THE Kiwi restaurant of NZ. Where does Gordon Ramsey go when he wants a taste of NZ? Depot. Where do Auckland Foodies go for a cosmopolitan but rustic, Kiwi-as night out with their out-of-town friends? Depot. Depot, every bloody time. Why? Because it's always down-to-earth, 1st class food.
The original wine-on-tap place. The original raw bar. The original (and still one of the best) Kiwi small sharing plate place. There are classics on the menu from the 1st day it opened, there are staff who will surprise you with dishes after you explain your tastes, there are new dishes that push the boundaries of what "simple but excellent" food can look like.
Not a place for the hearing impaired. This place is LOUD and buzzing. But they're amazing. Put your name on the list, pop out to a local bar for a cocktail, and come back for a great night of food and drink. Love it.
L.
Food:(4/5)
The Tua Tua was so fresh and tasted delicious with the sauce.
The snapper slider was always my favourite. Crispy and soft burger bun, tender snapper fillet and the mayo matched each other so well. But this time the mayo was a bit salty and sour compared to previous taste.
The pork hock’s skin was too hard this time maybe because of the longer deep fried time.
The lamb ribs were so good but a bit too greasy.
The duck fat side dish I won’t recommend because of the lack of flavour and too oily. And the yoghurt on the top just didn’t go well with the dish.
Service:(5/5)
s.
Absolutely delicious food. Loved everything here. But the lamb was out of the world. So juicy and fresh. All the dishes that we ordered were amazing . Full of flavour and very unique. Good wine list as well. Service was also good. Staff was friendly and always smiling despite being very busy. Highly recommended
J.
Man, was this place delicious. An awesome selection of fresh seafood including oysters and clams, wonderful whitebait fritters and maybe the best pork shank I’ve ever had. Just delicious. They also have a great selection of NZ craft beers including low alcohol options. A simply lovely experience.
M.
We really enjoyed the Depot. We had a great table outside. Our waiter even moved us under the awning when it started raining. We tried the skirt steak and squid ink pasta. Both were excellent. The sweet corn is a must try!!
J.
Great feel, excellent service, and very tasty fresh food. The fish sliders are one dish they are known for and that's justified. Soft fish, toasted bun with loads of sause and some fresh greens. The potato skins are also excellent and they are a good size.
The oysters were among the best that I've had. Amazingly fresh and supple with a killer vinager sause. The only negative is that it is a tad expensive and in a generally touristy area with loads of other higher priced restaurants.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
T.
Definitely one of the best in Auckland! They are a bit pricey but it's totally worth it just for their freshness in the ingredients that are made out of local NZ meats & produces. The lamb ribs and crispy pork hock are simply amazing. Oysters are really overpriced, but if you have not time to visit the different oyster farms in those different parts of nz, then oysters in the Depot are equally fresh! They don't take reservations now, but if you go at off-peak days & hours you might find no queue to wait at all.
t.
oysters for breakfast with a side of sweet tuatuas cos I could... followed by some wonderful cold cuts and some duck tongues. deserves its good reputation.
O.
I have been in Auckland for almost a week now and I pass by this place daily to find that its packed so todY I decided to get in and the lovely staff was welcoming and quickly found me a table for one. From the starters, I took one of each clam and oysters to try them ordered half a portion of lamb ribs and one fish slider and boy they were so delicious. The lamb was the best I have ever tasted. I am definitely coming back tomorrow to try something else before my flight back home. keep it up guys.
L.
good service nice food
I.
Great food, Excellent staff, nice atmosphere. We ordered both types of oysters, that were distinctly different, the lamb ribs, kahawai, and potatoe skins. Food was delicious and was really fast and fresh.
Staff were helpful, knowledgable and made it an enjoyable visit.
K.
Best meal I had 4 days in Auckland. Everything was spot on and they were willing to adjust portions on some items for a solo diner so I could try more. Must the hakupa fish sliders!!
K.
A great place to eat fresh New Zealand oysters and diamonds! Super fresh and quality seafood.
Potato skin is delicious, super crisp! The cheese melts on it. The beef tongue is very delicate and melts in the mouth. The iceberg wedges are crisp and sweet.
T.
Oysters and clams were amazing, lamb racks melt in the mouth, and potato skins with truffle and Parmesan were very moreish. Extensive wine list with most from New Zealand, and bartender let me try a couple before I chose one. Came on a Friday night so it was packed and pretty noisy, but good atmosphere. Would recommend a visit if you’re in the city and like seafood!
S.
Yes please. Everything I’ve ever ordered here has been scrummo. The truffle skins, the fish sliders, all the seafood, etc.. would def recommend 😊
W.
On our first night in Auckland we decided to have dinner here. You know it’s going to be good because you’re put on a waiting list because of the high number of people wanting to dine here. We started off with the charcuterie board which was amazing (the duck tounge popcorn are to die for) and we also tried some fresh oysters 👏🏻 We continued with the venison cheeks served on a bed of creamy polenta and we also tried smoked fish on toast. The food is amazing and fresh. They serve sharing portions which I liked very much as you can try different dishes. The staff is very helpful and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Lastly do not forget to have dessert 🍮 We went with the sugar pie 🥧 which is to die for. If you’re going to be in Auckland make sure to go here. Surely you won’t be disappointed 😊🙏🏻
b.
I haven't been this satisfied with food for quite some time. Everything we ordered were super tasty and I wowed at every bite. Highly recommended.
F.
We knew this would be good when we had to wait an hour for a table. As it happens, we got in within 30 minutes.
And we are glad we waited. The food was excellent. As was the service. Try the Hapuka sliders. "Posh fingers" in my book. They will change your life. The skirt steak was excellent, and the potato skins were good too.
Wine on tap? Don't mind if we do.
T.
A lively and vibrant restaurant bar, expect to queie up as they do not take reservation. I wouldn't call it an oyster bar as they only supply one kind of oyster and can only have it natural. But it serves other food and they are delicious too.
L.
Shellfish are fresh and creamy. But seats are small and very uncomfortable. Customer service needs to be proved. Overall is good but overrated.
T.
Voted as a TOP eatery in eatery several years in a row. My standard order here is lamb ribs, hapuka sliders and oysters at the minimum. The red wine on tap is good too. Located right outside the Auckland sky tower - this is a great place to indulge in a late Friday lunch. You need reservations for dinner most days.
P.
Great atmosphere, great service and most importantly amazing food. We had lamb ribs, sweet breads, potatoe skins and cookie skillet. Up there with the best, seriously good and not to be missed when in Auckland
T.
This is one of our old time favourites and it hasn't changed much, in a very good way. The raw bar is still one of the best in town, ambience was on point, and service is great. Must tries, sliders, and order everything off the raw bar, it's worth it.
T.
Very good food, high quality oysters, wide drinks variety, superb coffee. Opens early till very late. In Auckland for 4nights for conference, been to this place twice already.
L.
Had some oyster, lamb ribs, octopus and fish sliders - oysters and lamb ribs being the most memorable! We couldn’t eat so much and the waitress offered just one fish slider (instead of 3) which luckily we asked for it! It’s pretty good I thought.
s.
Nice atmosphere, beautiful and efficient staffs, some of dishes are very good, but some of them just ok,when I say ok ,doesn't mean not good its because the price and the food didn't match . Kingfish belly is my favorite.
C.
The place was very busy on a Saturday night. I was here about 10pm and was lucky to get the last table. The bone marrow seems to be the popular dish people pick so we picked one too. I wasn't impressed by it much, probably because it tasted fat to me. Perhaps it would be good for those who like bone marrow. The potato skins were excellent. Crispy and hot and with the additional flavour of the lovely cheese. Really good. I ordered a passion fruit mojito. They don't have a cocktail menu so it might be difficult for those who don't know what to drink.
Service was ok. The waiters were too busy and we were always told to wait when trying to order. So on average 1 out of 3 waiters u called really responded. The food took some time to come too.
L.
Great place to have oysters, they were super fresh and creamy. They only serve 1 kind at $5 per oyster. Portions are a bit small but overall the food tasted amazing. Service was great as well.
s.
We came here for our first meal in Auckland and we were definitely not disappointed!!Loving the vibes and friendly service here! Food was on point! Oysters were amazingly fresh that we had to order round 2! Would also recommend clam and squid ink linguine and skirt steak!
We came here on a Sunday night without booking! We felt lucky that we could manage to grab a table as the restaurant was really really busy. Would recommend booking or start your night earlier like we did!
R.
Yum. Yum and Yum! Good attentive service and fast too. Fish sliders were awesome!
V.
Amazing place right next to the casino and tower. Always packed it seems. Menu changes daily. Portion sizes are small to medium but the taste and quality is excellent. Pricey but well worth it!
V.
AMAZING food here! Michelin star ⭐️ like, seriously! We had a meat board (head over heels 🙃), duck confit (big plate to share) and asparagus (small plate). We both were hungry and it was more than enough food. We are coming back tomorrow. Definitely a highlight of Auckland for me 😍
M.
Would have given 5 stars last night, staff and food was amazing. Today the service was not at all friendly and we had to ask for service. Sadly our desert was also burnt.
C.
Very fresh and nice oyster! And yummy lamb ribs ever I tried in the trip! Excellent hapuka belly and potato skins! Best meal in nz!
L.
Oysters and clams very very flesh . Came here for the oysters and the lamb is very soft and juicy . Your brain will shout when you eat . The steak is huge. The lamb rib is very nice too !!
T.
The best meal we had in our New Zealand trip. Every dish we had here were excellent. The spaghetti with clams were one of the best we ever tried. We will come back just for that. Lamb was also excellent. Steak and beef tongue were high quality, generous portions. Highly recommended.
P.
Had an early dinner. Ordered the roast corn, skirt steak, lamb ribs and some oysters and clams. It was an absolutely delicious meal.
S.
Like the vibes and interior design a lot. Only two kinds of oysters onthe menu (when I went only one available ) but it’s quite fresh and tasted good. Staff are pretty friendly even though it’s a busy place. Nice place for gathering but also good for solo diner. Would love to try bfast next time cuz the coffee looks good.
C.
Not the first time to visit "Depot". Every remarkable dining service.Great food.Nice environment. Only thing was the trifle gone to normal. Nothing surprises me. But overall is beautiful.
M.
Amazing food and super happy and friendly staff. A truely delightful dining experience with the best seafood and perfectly balanced dishes. Don't come to Auckland without visiting for dinner!
Come for the Hapuka Sliders - stay for the Wine!
J.
Went here while travelling for work, able to get a table for 1 without any trouble up at a high bar so that it wasn’t awkward. The staff here were friendly and attentive. I ordered the confit duck which was superb, fall off the bone good. Absolutely no complaints. Good for casual and business I would highly recommend
W.
Oysters were *large* and fresh, tasting different from those Rock Oysters in Sydney. My favourite was the clams they called Tuatua. Great shellfish though a little bit pricy.
M.
This shop ~ location is very easy to find, just on the edge of the sky tower, very convenient to recognize, raw oysters are very fresh, lamb chops are a bit fat, taste good, like ~
E.
Good food and nice oyster. Not cheap of course, but still reasonable. Worth to have a try generally.
H.
We four had an extremely pleasant evening on 6 December. Wonderful cuisine and service.
T.
The taste of oysters is OK, the fish is also ok, the amount of potato skin is very large but very salty, it may be delicious in Auckland, but it is very common for me.
徐.
A good restaurant with friendly service. The roast beef, lamb, fish belly, and oyster are all delicious.
蔡.
Not the first time to visit "Depot". Every remarkable dining service.Great food.Nice environment. Only thing was the trifle gone to normal. Nothing surprises me. But overall is beautiful.
M.
I went with my daughter for dinner. It’s a small but very cool restaurant with casual ambience. As the name suggests we ordered the oysters and we had a feast! They were the right size and super fresh. Then we shared the crisp “freedom farms” pork hock with apple and horseradish and salsa verde. The pork was really crispy and tasty, the meat was carved from the bone and very tender and moist. Loved the horseradish mash. The three ingredients complemented each other. We also shared the Greg’s courgette flowers with Persian feta and Pinole pine nuts. The flowers were almost a tempura which combined which combined with the fried slices of courgette, feta and pine nuts making this dish amazing delicious!
I don’t advise the sugar pie though which is considered a speciality. Too much sugar and it’s texture was not that creamy.
The restaurant doesn’t accept table reservations and like most New Zealand’s restaurants the wine is too expensive!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
F.
An amazing spot! Went a few times last year when I was staying in Auckland. Fantastic food, crafted cocktails and friendly service.
F.
Oyster is excellent, grilled kahawai is a little bit salty, service need improve.
M.
Highly recommended for the oyster lovers out there.
Good selection of wine to wash it all down.
Very friendly staff.
S.
No wonder a lot people highly recommended this restaurant. Every dishes taste good but the lamb ribs is my favourite.
A.
For those a little slow on the weekend wake up this is a good spot for a hearty breakfast. Although being so popular it can be hard to secure a table there are usually spots along the breakfast bar overlooking the cooking.
K.
Love this place! Food is amazing as well as the service. Our go to when staying in Auckland!
W.
Nice spot away from the busy streets and traffic. Great for seafood lovers. We just had a pre dinner snack and drink, the potato skins and burrata. The burrata is fresh and delicious.
N.
Came here on our only day in Auckland, the wait was about 30-45mins at around 7pm. You can leave a number for them to call so you don't need to wait there. We got the best seat in the house, right in front of the kitchen. Watching the kitchen staff work is like witnessing something short of a miracle, an orchestra of food creation carefully planned and executed in a chaotic rhythm. The food is excellent and being able to watch it all happen definitely adds to the experience, 5 Stars all around!
R.
Lovely place for social meet up over oysters and more
M.
Oysters are fresh. Atmosphere is very good. We enjoyed a very good lunch under sunshine with breeze.
B.
Can never go wrong with Depot. Everything on the menu is delicious, especially the flank steak. I always bring out of town guests here
g.
Very good restaurant. Food portion is rather small but with good quality and fair price.
R.
If your an early-to-rise person in downtown on the weekends, finding a quality restaurant (with full bar) can be a challenge! Thankfully, we stumbled onto the depot and came back the following day as well! The breakfast sandwich may be their only brekky food, but it is sensational! Enjoy with a Bloody Mary (Thank you Lane) or a custom mocha coffee (Thank you Dillon). The vibe is very relaxed and comfortable! Just a friendly neighborhood cafe with great staff, food and beverage.
S.
Good food and service. The oysters were delicious and the kingfish sashimi is highly recommended.
F.
Amazing food, great service and great Wiskhey Sours! Great meal, certainly a place to come back too!
L.
Absolutely fantastic dining experience. Food was incredible, staff were warm and friendly, service impeccable but one of the most memorable parts of the experience was having Mr Al Brown himself serving the diners and taking time out to say gidday and have chat. I even tried Oysters again after years and thinking they weren't for me but they were YUM! Thanks Al and team for an incredible night.
G.
Grilled beef tongue w/ chimichurri, fresh ricotta, fennel & hazelnut salad.
This dish was outstanding. I was staying next door at The Skycity Grand. Popped in for a quick bite and a glass of Merlot/Cab Sav.
I was perched at the bar on an outside ledge. The restaurant was packed.
I will be back.
R.
We had such a great time hear. The customer service was great, the ambiance was funky and the food was excellent. If you're coming with a bunch of friends, family it on a date, I would definitely recommend Depot!
C.
Food was amazing and came quickly and our waitress was super lovely! However the manager/person at the desk wasn't too friendly - seemed annoyed at the split bill between two and just seemed like she wanted us to just pay and go and rolled eyes and stormed to pack our food when we wanted takeaway. Overall it was a good experience and will give it another go!
E.
despite what it says on their website / online, they don’t actually let you get takeaway food. got rudely sent away when I asked about it. Their food is still really good though which is why they have 3 stars - they should really be consistent with their position on takeaways.
S.
Nice food, love the sticky pudding and hapuka sliders.
Places too small
B.
Excellent food often brought to the table by Al Brown himself in the times I have been there. The waiting staff do a great job of helping you choose from the menu; my recommendation is to let them know of anything you particularly can't have and then let them feed you an assortment from the menu of plates to share until you have had enough. Very popular and hence busy and they don't take bookings but the food service is fast and the tables turn over quickly so even if you haven't booked the wait is not usually too long.
Д.
Good old Depot! Years pass but Depot only getting better! We were blown away today with hospitality level, food, drinks and atmosphere. Our waitress Alex deserves an Oscar for hospitality and the barmen who creates new cocktails too! Amazing thanks
B.
The nicest eatery in Auckland. Not a huge sea food fan but the menu was significant enough to allow us to have several courses without seafood.
海.
Heavenly finger-licking lamb ribs! We ordered one and then another!
B.
Nice food with a very good location. Staff is very friendly.
M.
Great service. Good location to people watch. Food was tasty and perfect. Oysters to die for. Will be back here.
A.
A thriving eatery with modern dishes. extremely popular and queues build up. loved their fish tacos and roast chicken. awesome oysters too
H.
The oyster here is the best. The atmosphere is good and the food is excellent.
M.
Nice little place at the feet of your majesty skytower, good location, always busy, nice food, it has to improve on beer selection in my view as i didn't find the ipa on the bottle up to standard, my gf got a 14/18$ wine glass that has been served in a water glass 😐,
staff seem to be a bit too young and unexperienced even if the girl that pick up our order was very tidy and professional, but other waiter staff weren't on the same page.
t.
From Japan:)
I had fettuccine for lunch. Though it was really tasty, it was a small portion and I think it was a little bit overpriced. In my view, this place is a drinking place. It doesn't have lunch menu and we should not expect reasonable one plate lunch fulfill your stomach.
H.
Very nice dishes recommended by the staff.
Nice service too.
F.
The bone marrow was pure butter on bone, the thin toasts and aromatic parsley/shallot/capers salad went perfectly with it! Three pieces are best shared amongst 3 friends but heck
The Hallertau Apple cider on tap went well with it too~
N.
Big surprise, high quality food, fair price, a bit crowded
A.
One of my Fav places in Auckland. Always great service and the food has never ever let me down. Always expect something you probably wouldn't usually find on a menu.
K.
Me and my partner love this place! It is our go to place for any celebration/ just when we feel like delicious food! He absolutely loves the hapuka sliders! Oysters are always fresh. The vibe is great and our favourite seat in the house is at the kitchen seats. The chefs are always hilarious and so amazing to watch cook. Will always highly recommend this place ❤️
H.
The restaurant just next to Sky Tower. The oyster is fresh and food is good. Crowded of people, advise prior booking.
A.
Nice place for a bar setting. Took the seafood .. clams and oysters... Thumbs up
J.
The food and oysters were amazing! So busy, so we stopped into Federal Delicatessen for drinks while we were waiting. Very good service as well.
K.
Fantastic oyster. We also ordered lamb and hanuka slice. All taste very good.
V.
Very nice place, great food, cozy interiors
m.
King fish, beef, potato skin and corn all nice.
K.
service is great
food is really yum
good time worth money spent
H.
Honestly, considering the long waiting time &the price &the taste, it's just average. Too many people talking, too noisy, the taste wasn't outstanding.
V.
Fresh clams and oysters! My go-to all the time when I’m in Auckland!
A.
genuinely one of the best dining experiences auckland has to offer!
i've visited depot somewhat often (as much as my bank account has allowed me!), and it somehow gets better every single time i go. in particular, i have been loving the new additions they have been adding to the menu. they're not only mixing things up, but i'm also expanding my palette one delicious dish at a time!
can 100% recommend the deckle in particular, i think it will become one of their most popular dishes in no time. depot's waitstaff also elevate the experience - apart from their brilliant food and drink recommendations, they've all been so personable and lovely! would definitely recommend.
R.
Fabulous and always lively eatery with innovative dishes and attentive staff.
R.
Always consistently great!!
Depot is our favourite restaurant in Auckland. Amazing fresh oysters; the pork hock is one of the best meals; potato skins hummmm
Guaranteed to satisfy
B.
Always awesome. Such a great spot with incredibly wholesome and delicious food. The potato skins are nuts, the lamb neck tender as all heck, and even the roasted cos lettuce is good to break up the richness.
S.
Great seafood and good beer selection. Very friendly, helpful service.
M.
Visited there three times already and always left with a big belly and a big smile on my face. Friendly staff and great service. I cannot say any no to re-visits. Fantastic experience, and I would like to give a ten-star to highly recommend your visit:)
G.
Now I know why this place is always busy
The food here was AMAZING
E.
It’s my second time here and the food like the oysters, lamb, sliders and clams are all good.
The staff today forgotten my order and so I waited for an hour for the food. Understandable on a Friday night. The staff were very apologetic and without any prompt for me they offered some complimentary items.
Thank you for the good service and for the good food. Keep up the great work and looking forward to my next visit.
M.
One good thing that comes with Covid is the fact that you can now go and enjoy Depot quite easily. That's the place where you feel the difference between a great shared dish and one that is perfectly prepared, balanced with flavours and cooked. We absolutely love this place and very unwillingly recommend it to everyone that asks.
M.
A great place for drinks and a bite. The Hapuka belly is simply delicious.
M.
nice food
near to Skycity Hotel
my favorite was ( Braised lamb neck w/ labneh, pickled red onions & sourdough flat bread)
D.
Great casual dining. Superb coffee. Be prepared for a limited menu but the bacon butties are amazing
佑.
Had some of the best oysters and largest clams in my life here!
C.
Great dinner on our one night in Auckland. Awesome wine list, food was excellent.
S.
Great attentive waiting staff. Interesting food. Informal vibe
J.
Get the Turbot slider and the Squid Ink linguine with cooked clams. Those are excellent!
W.
The lamb rib is so yummy more than I suspected. This place is so nice.
C.
Great chilled vibe and amazing Oyster Martini
M.
Beautiful coffee, I mean, if you are really into coffee.
B.
Super Yummy!! the fish burger is super duper delicious.
J.
Outstanding food and table service! Great place to eat fresh NZ oysters and diamond clams! Super fresh and excellent quality seafood. The potato skins were tasty and super crunchy! The cheese melted on top. Ox tongue was very delicate and melts in your mouth. The glaze was awesome. Iceberg wedge was crunchy and sweet. Really fresh produce. An excellent place for a meal! A must visit!
S.
It’s our second time to have dinner in Deport, the oyster is soo tasty and fresh:)))))
A.
Despite the 30 minute wait, the 5 stars are well deserved. The food was the best we had on 2 week vacation through NZ. The oysters were delicious, the lamb fell off the bone it was so tender and the fish belly was cooked perfectly with the best sauce side with it. Truly loves every single thing we ate!!!!! You have to visit this place!
D.
Always love their food. Great experience, every time.
R.
Great food, shared dishes, super yummy!
C.
Awesome food and fantastic crews. Reasonable price~!!!
R.
Awesome mussels! Great fish sliders!
S.
Yummy food, very fresh oysters
L.
Great spot to eat and have a few drinks in Auckland. The open kitchen is amazing to watch and the food is some of the best we have ever had. We started with the snapper sliders which where super good. Never had snapper before but now the bar is set high after having the sliders. Next we had the lamb ribs. They were so tender and the meat literally fell of the bone. The seasoning was sensational. Best part of our meal I think. Then we had the pork hock. This was good as well. Really tender and seasoned to perfection. The sauce on top is really good and adds some good taste to it. For dessert we had the sugar pie. Super good and not too sweet. Would go back here again and try more of the options next time we are in Auckland.
J.
Depot definitely lives up to the hype. Their oysters are fresh and tasty. Everyone should try their lamb racks as they are full of flavours and melt-in-your-mouth kind of tender. Well worth the visit; will definitely be back. Thank you!
L.
Tasty food, amazing attitude. Loved it, thanks!
S.
Eaten here a few times but no photos to show for it :( The staff are personable with a sense of humour. Food is amazing! Some stand outs -
- Ox tongue: soft and tender, balanced perfectly by copious amounts of mustard goop (not sure what to call this accompaniment but I love its fluffy texture).
- Brisket: a sticky, melt-in-your-mouth delight. So good we ordered 2 plates in one sitting.
- Oysters are... well, oysters. And they serve raw tuatua clams - grisly, pleasant mouthfuls of the ocean.
- At one stage they had a slow cooked lamb dish - also delightful.
- Kingfish sashimi: chunks of fresh, soft pink flesh which worked well with the tart apple slivers.
Not sure how I feel about wine served in tumblers. I’m more of a wine in rounded glass girl, but I won’t hold this against Depot.
G.
We had a great experience. Sat at kitchen bar, was great to see how professional the kitchen was run. Great food is an understatement it was amazing. Thanks for the great night.
M.
Excellent food. Allegedly, the place is owned by more than six years by the same owner and it has not stopped to be packed ever since. We had several options from the menu and they were all pretty delicious. I loved the industrial interior design. Must go place when in Auckland.
B.
We dined (5 of us) at the depot last night, 28/6/2020, our waiter got the drinks order wrong as he memorised the order. We duly ordered our food including the Charcuterie dish and the tua tuas among other dishes. Our waiter's memory let him down again as neither of these arrived. 2 of our party are vegetarians and there was very little available for them. Overall the service was good and the highlight was the raw oysters.
L.
One of the best gastronomic experience ever! Simply amazing! Will come back!
I.
Great dining experience at The Depot. Lucky enough to be seated at bench looking into full kitchen. Wow to the staff, kitchen flat out, clean, cohesive and extremely impressive. Highly recommend the lamb, hock, crispy skins and char grilled sweet corn. Thanks to all and service superb.
K.
High quality bistro style food, great for a snack or dinner.
L.
The Oysters were amazing and also the lamb racks felt like they melt in the mouth.
One of the places, I visit every time I am in New Zealand!
Absolutely recommended if you like seafood!
A.
Excellent food. We had the Lamb Ribs, Crisp Pork and Chargrilled Asparagus. All dishes were really well prepared and very tasty. Friendly staff and a good wine list by the glass.
J.
The Depot never disappoints. A selective menu but what they do, they do extremely well. Tasty share plates, staff very friendly, efficient & knowledgeable. Extensive beverage menu. The place is usually always busy and has a great vibe about it.
J.
Went here because we were looking for an oyster bar to try while in town. Everything was delicious! Oysters were fabulous! We scarfed down the burrata and the bone marrow plates. Our server was super fun and attentive. If I had anything less than amazing to say it would be about the fish sliders. We ordered them because others raved about them in their reviews. They were yummy but you really didn’t taste the fish do to the small amount on each bun. I definitely recommend anyone in Auckland checking this place out!
C.
One of the restaurants on my hit list during my short visit to Auckland and was not disappointed. The best dish we had was definitely the lamb ribs w/ skordalia, we ordered two to share between 8 people and ended up order three more dishes - and this was on top of all our other food! It was that delicious.
C.
The oysters here was really great!
B.
J.
Had a beautiful lunch here yesterday!! Cozy dining room with friendly service. We had oysters and clams, white bait fritters, fish sliders, and the pork hock. All was wonderful, but don’t miss that pork hock. Woah!!
J.
So good!!
1. Oysters were fresh and creamy. Really recommend.
2. Charcuterie was better than average. Thought the duck tongue popcorn was unique, and had never tried rabbit before.
3. The sliders were the best part. Melt-in-mouth deliciousness. Had to order a 2nd set because 3 wasn't enough to share.
N.
Excellent food and friendly staff. I had a combination of starters that included one fish slider, one taco, and a couple of the lamb ribs. Heaven! The slider and the lamb were my favorites but everything was great. The selection of wines available was also lovely. Glad I visited this restaurant!
K.
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Auckland. Can’t wait to have a dinner after LOCKDOWN.
V.
Good food, lemon hapuka sliders were delicious. The service was good until we'd had our mains and then we seemed to be forgotten. Nice wine in a cordial glass wasn't my favourite but went with the vibe. I have heard a lot about this place and had high expectations. It didn't quite reach them but not a bad experience. Solid 3.5 stars.
T.
Good food and good service. Shared plates so choose a few smaller to enjoy the diffirent dishes on offer.
T.
Very tasty food and decent portion sizes. The charcuterie platter is really nice, as well as the lamb ribs. Don't miss out on the hot food here, in addition to the seafood.
G.
Great little coffee spot with limited breakfast but good choice for lunch.
M.
Great service+food+vibes
We came in at 7pm on Friday night, so naturally it was very busy, we put down our names in the waiting list, and hung out on federal street, until they gave us a call about 30 minutes later. Service was excellent despite the place being absolutely packed, waiting staff is very professional, we ordered big and small sharing platters as well as two sides, all food exceeded expectations. Absolutely a must-visit place for food downtown
Z.
It's the can't miss of Auckland restaurants! Great dishes served to share so bring your friends and try a bunch of them! Great food at a good price. The service here was a like lacking but the food made up for it
K.
Great atmosphere, food and service. Had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back.
J.
Fantastic food and service. Always a treat.
Oysters, skirt steak + habanero mustard, kingfish sashimi - must haves every time!
❤️🙏
N.
Great restaurant. Never fails to impress.
Al Brown and his team of classy chefs deliver the best Kiwi-fusion dishes; utilising the best, but not always most well known cuts in insightful and respectful ways to fulfill both the palate and belly!
C.
We chose to sit at the 'Kitchen' bar. The oysters were amazing, as was the marrow. The octopus was well seasoned but rubbery. I've travelled all over the world and feel that the wine pours are miserly for what you pay. I've had wine next door at Masu and the pours are more generous there. Otherwise, great atmosphere, and service is good.
P.
If you're like me, and you can't decide on what to eat, this is a perfect place for small dishes to share with friends. We got 5 small dishes to share and it was the perfect amount of food to get us full enough and not be uncomfortably full. The lamb is a must get! Nancy was our server and she was absolutely wonderful, gave us great advice on more places to eat, and made the experience that much better.
H.
Had a wonderful light meal here enjoying the oysters and kingi sashimi along with a glass of Chardonnay. Great service and big shout out to Dillon who gave made it especially memorable too.
E.
Great food, the cauliflower was delicious and the lamb ribs superb.
m.
Busy place and you have to wait awhile because they dont take bookings but you can go for a drink or look around sky city and they will call you when your turn is up. They bring you out a course at a time so your able to enjoy each dish. The clams are bigger than I usually get out and the bone marrow was neck level. staff were all friendly and are able to make good suggestions on what to order. The bathroom is nice to. My wife spent half the dinner watching the oyster shaka in awe. The snapper sliders are a must!!!
D.
Well worth a visit. This cosy eatery specialises in oysters and the food is sensational. One of our favourite spots to go on a night out in the city. Beware, they don’t take bookings and it is very popular so best to arrive well before you want to eat and put your name on the list and then grab a drink somewhere nearby.
A.
I love this place. If there’s one restaurant I will always say yes to it’s depot. The food is just amazing (evidently I’m lacking culinary vocabulary here)! Every dish on the menu is carefully curated and leaves me wanting to come back for more. Recent favourites include the burrata and the bone marrow. Classic favourites include would have to be the fish sliders and the skillet cookie (although it wasn’t on the menu last time we went). The service can be a little inconsistent, last time I encountered a female staff member who came off rather cold and indifferent to whoever she was serving. I would say she was blatantly rude to me at one point but 99% of the time the wait staff have gone above and beyond with their service and it’s always a joy to converse with them. It’s worth the wait if you get put off the wait list and while I wouldn’t recommend the place for a quiet date I think it’s worth yelling across the table to be heard for the quality of their food.
Z.
Great food and selection of wine. Cool fitout and relaxed vibe. Service was a bit hit and miss though (overall friendly, however abruptly ushered out to take a name and told wait for a table would be an hour, ended up being 20 minutes, also incorrect order delivered to table).
Z.
This was the most amazing meal my family and I could’ve ever asked for. The fish was outstanding, the flavours were incredible and the service was unprecedented. I could rave so much about this fantastic establishment that I might burst. 😍
P.
Went on a weekday night at 18.30ish and place was already buzzing. Started off with the wood roasted bone marrow which was divine. Followed up with a pork hock which is one the best I’ve ever had and there was enough decadent crackling to share between a table of 6. Also shared some oysters which were also very good. Just took a couple of spoons from my friends’ desserts, and the sugar pie was excellent. Honestly, I could not fault any of the food offering. Added to the buzzing atmosphere makes this place a winner.
A.
Loved this restaurant! Fantastic food, cosy atmosphere and a relaxed vibe! Standouts on the menu for me were the pork hock, squid ink linguine, lamb ribs and the NZ meat board!
There's usually a wait for a table, but it's a great chance to try out the bars in the area and catch up with people before dinner!
M.
We turned up around 6pm and they were busy - almost full. We were seated immediately and served in very quick time.
We opted for 3 dishes including the meat board, the pork and some fish tortillas. The meats were great especially the pork. The fish was a bit dry so I don't recommend that but overall this place is top shelf.
T.
Simply great tasting food!
G.
Superb bistro in central Auckland!
G.
The food here is amazing! We sat at the bar and had a nice leisurely grazing of the food menu. The bartender was awesome. He was very attentive and brought our food quickly. I would recommend trying a few dishes. Fun to share the plates.
J.
Loved this place so much, my wife and I ate here two nights during our stay in Auckland. We highly recommend sitting at the chef's counter. You can see all the dishes being prepared making it the menu come to life. We stayed at the SkyCity Hotel and this place was one of the first things that caught our eye and had us intrigued. Cannot wait to go back. Too bad it is a 16 hour flight away.
M.
Waited an hour to get a table which was worth it. Food was great - unfortunately they were out of oysters and clams by the time we were seated so we didn’t get to try out their raw menu. Really recommend the pork hock and lamb ribs!
C.
Amazing food and services. The Orongo Bay oysters were so sweet and fresh, I slurped it up in one go. The meat literally falls off the bone - lamb rib. It was so soft. I love the Squid Ink Linguine, just the right amount. Perfectly seasoned. I love this place. If you are still hungry, give yourself some Fergus Bone Marrow, simply melts in your mouth.
K.
Went here as we were staying at the SkyCity Grand next door and loved the positive reviews online. A very relaxed vibe, service was friendly and efficient. Drinks list had plenty of options - cocktails were great. The food was excellent - we went with small plates: fresh oysters, hapuka sliders and ribs - just enough food to be able to walk away happy. Highly recommend.
C.
I love this restaurant. Unpretentious, simple straight forward food done very well. My partner loved that they have a great selection of NZ local beers. Hello to the demi chef who is a fellow 🇵🇭! We were seated at the bar. We saw him and initially thought he was a Filo. And confirmed he was (the wonders of social media). We didn't get to greet and chat with him. It was a very busy kitchen. Mabuhay ka!
M.
Fantastic. Back in New Zealand for a short visit and depot was the first place we went to for coffee, then a bite to eat and then a beer. Fish sliders were so good we reordered, the other bits and pieces also great, and service was brilliant- friendly and helpful. Must go back to try more of the menu!
O.
This is our regular stop when we come to Auckland.
The surrounds are upmarket with the interior a lovely rustic affair. Eating/ dining is on a first in first served basis.
The service has never disappointed, staff are friendly, knowledgable, attentive and unobtrusive.
Their shellfish are amazing as is the selection of plates.
Our favorites are the sliders.
A very wide selection of wines / beers both imported and local.
My other half tried the cider which was a very nice drop.
It can get a wee bit loud but you go to a place like this for atmosphere and that atmosphere is busy and full of life.
We will be back !
W.
A few of us from work came in for dinner and wine, the atmosphere and the service is second only to the food. We had our meals explained to us by the man himself. Even though it was a winter night and we were outside we were warm and comfortable and had the best time!
B.
Been here a couple of times. Fresh oysters and clams. Highlight was their fish soliders. Very tasty. Lots of good food choices.
C.
My favourite place for Oysters in the world. Freshly shucked and served on ice with a perfect vinaigrette.
Wash them down with a cold beer or try something totally out there but PERFECT.......have them accompanied by dry sherry.....great suggestion Joe!
my favourite seat.....at the pass.
J.
I'm sure it's good for dinner but breakfast you only get 3 choices. No actual menu so don't know prices till end - worked out at about 12 dollars for a coffee and egg/bacon bap which isn't too bad. Staff seem rushed off their feet so understandably not particularly personable. This place is best for if you need to be in and out really fast I guess. So if that's what you're after I would recommend it as the food is priced only slightly higher than fast food and the quality is much much better than you'd get at a franchise place.
If I didn't feel rushed and there was an actual menu I'd give an extra star.
Not sure I'd go back considering Federal Delicatessen is right next door and heaps better.
R.
I can't say enough about Depot. It's an Al Brown restaurant and the food shows it with inventive, delicious menu items that are top notch. I've been going for years, and Depot consistently wows.
The atmosphere is casual and buzzy, and the service is top notch. You can't book a table, and sometimes there is a long wait, but it's worth it every time.
It's been my go-to restaurant for years now and it never fails to impress. Absolutely fantastic, and truly deserving of five stars.
K.
The best lamb chop I’ve ever had. Very tender. The potato skin is great, too. The service was good. Happy I came in here.
A.
Cool dining room. Great tasting food. The bone marrow was very controversial. Love it or hate it. I just wanted more toast. It's not romantic, but a good place for a night out without the kids. Not recommend for kids, or if you don't like stools.
Y.
went with my friend on a Thursday evening without a booking, was really busy but managed to get a place to sit right in front of the kitchen, my friend and me being culinary arts students didn't mind sitting there, was exciting to see the chefs cook everything to perfection and the head chef tasting everything making sure its up to standards. our food was great, hospitable staff and a great owner
T.
I heard its oysters taste great so I tried them a week ago and was terribly disappointed. If you want to appreciate really delicious oysters, all you have to do is go to Japan. Then you will realize how the world finest oysters taste. Furthermore, you can enjoy them much cheaper than in NZ.
A.
Typical American upmarket place. Its rather busy. But if your into sandwich and hot dogs etc its a good place to go. I think the best think about this place is the pie for desert. Would recommend just going for some pie if your low on cash and just after a good sweet treat.
A.
You can't best this place. There are a lot of restaurants in Auckland that are fantastic so it's hard to justify coming back to even really good ones but I am a semi regular here. The skirt steak, sashimi, lamb ribs are all amazing and not to be missed
S.
Always great food n services! Never turned down on me - always satisfied and leave with smiley face. I always bring my international guests here. Califlower tempura and skirt beet stake are my fav. You would have to put your name down n queue up for a half and a hour during the dinner time. They have good fresh oysters too. Highly recommended :) As an ex-Wellingtonian, I am so proud! 😄 🙌
M.
My favourite place to come and eat and has been for the last 8 years. Just love it here. Good vibes whether it is out for a date, with the kids or with a group. They always get it spot on.
P.
Fantastic little restaurant! A must go when you visit Auckland! It has a very relaxed atmosphere but with very serious food and service. The oysters (and clams) are open on demand and the list of mains available are very unique, I had the bone marrow which was great!
J.
The Depot has a fantastic bacon egg breakfast sandwich to die for. They also offer a great selection of drinks and the sliders are a must to try. Service here was prompt, but nothing to go crazy over. Oh and you should try the sugar pie, unbelievably delicious
B.
You're looking at google reviews, trying to decide where to go for a meal. Listen- look no further. I have only come once for dinner, but we got just about the best experience you could ever hope for when you go out. Incredible hospitality. We got lucky with kitchen bar seats. Food inspired by some of the world's best chefs (Massimo, Fergus, etc.) and the vibe is spot on. Bonus- if you love the experience like we did, and collect biographical books on restaurants / recipe books, you should get their Depot book at the front. You're welcome ahead of time.
B.
The place has a really cool decor, and even though they are busy, they will quickly find a table for you. We had fig toasties, which were a whirlwind of delicious flavors, beef brisket tortillas, soft and juicy, and grilled kumara, which I couldn't get enough of.
Additionally, the staff was nice enough to move us to a bigger table when it freed up, and the server noticed I left my umbrella behind.
R.
The bones and the pork are really tasty, and the service is perfect
C.
Consistently scrumptious food to tantalise the taste buds! 😋 Great vibe, fast friendly service & the added bonus of wine by the carafe! 👍
K.
I like the part where the guy was pulling the bones out of the fish and burned his hand and we laughed and then he laughed and looked embarrassed. The food was excellent
V.
Great space, good service, excellent wine list, imaginative menu. Brilliant!
C.
Don't let the long wait times deter you, Depot has some of the best food in all of Auckland! Located in the midst of the buzzing SkyCity restaurant precinct, which is one of the best spots for high quality food and drinks in the city. Great wine selection, meats cooked to perfection, and cozy atmosphere makes for a great date night!
L.
Stopped in after walking around for an hour trying to find a spot worthy of my money. This place hit the nail on the head. The ambience is bright yet relaxed. The service was prompt, thoughtful, and not overdone. Joe and his team were very attentive and helped me find a meal that was varied and appropriately sized. The menu is well crafted and fresh. Each item that I got had a perfectly complex flavor profile. Top to bottom, this was a perfect dining experience.
T.
Food was excellent. Pork Hock and potato skins mmmmmmmmm I'd recommend them to anyone.
Lunch service was ok. Friendly, competent staff, and we had no wait for a seat (on a Tuesday).
We were waiting quite a while for the main.
D.
We went for lunch on a Friday. They don't take reservations, and the place gets filled up. So be prepared to wait a while before you get a table. Luckily for us, there was a table available. We ordered, the Kingfish belly and Lamb ribs. Both were very nice and I would rate this among the best casual dining experiences in Auckland.
P.
Better than average restaurant in Auckland. The rib is good but a bit over spiced. Overall a good place to visit. Can be crowded
J.
My experience of Auckland is one of excellent oysters and passable other foods. However, Depot has excellent oysters and clams and also equally enjoyable cooked options. The service style is similar to tapas and sharing is expected / encouraged. The staff are also very knowledgable about their wines and foods and in particular the raw choices. Of the cooked options I genuinely enjoyed the bone marrow, even though it’s a fatty dish it pairs very well with a number of white wines and adds much needed filler to a meal of oysters and clams. This is one of the few locations in Auckland to be added to my map of places to return.
M.
Premium ingredients perfectly cooked and excellent service in a nice ambiance - what more can you ask for? Plum trifle for dessert was the weakest dish we had - didn't like the lemon creme very much. Apart from that - absolutely no complaints.
S.
Had a wonderful experience tonight at Depot. Food had an Asian twist to it, in small portions but enough to share around. Oysters was a great start. We ordered multiple dishes after and desserts is a must have.
I.
Food was amazing! The clams were my favourite. Didn't really like the cups for the wine. Could have had water for the table also. Service was good.
N.
I love orango oysters !
B.
Great food. Good sized sharing portions and all of the dishes tasted great. Good beer selection and nice friendly service to top it off. Well recommended for a work lunch or a group of friends.
G.
pricey, small portions. Tasted good but was still hungry afterwards. When we arrived, it was pretty packed and busy but when the hostess was about to put our names down, a table opened up right behind her. She said she'll get the table prepped for us and to wait outside but then a waitress gave the table away to someone else. Went inside again and the hostess didn't seem to remember us and anything about that table. We got a table outside after that; too bad we were not dressed warmly enough. So not a great experience overall; wouldn't come back
A.
Great experience. The staff are really excellent here. Food was all very good. Nothing life changing, but definitely solid and would return again soon.
Wine list is pretty straight down the line. Could do with a couple of weird options for the curious punter.
Highly recommended.
F.
Another gem right smack in the middle of the city. Always a bustling place. Try their oyster bar which always has the freshest and best oysters in the season. You won't be disappointed.
This combined with their friendly staff and a great location, this easily makes this place one of the best in Auckland.
L.
Lovely friendly staff. Gorgeous warm interior on an otherwise rainy day. Great selection of gluten and lactose free and vegan options too. Great other cafes you can walk through to as well. Nice selections of cheese etc. Would definitely stop by again. Organic shop opposite as well which gave a good range of supplies if you're doing a road trip. Place would easily fit 30+ friends:)
G.
Buzzy venue with great food and service
K.
Depot was disappointing. We went out for a girls night and did a lot of waiting. Luckily we had a lot to catch up on because we waited for over an hour before we let the staff know we hadn't received any of our food, including the oysters. Our docket was lost and none of the staff seemed to notice that others were getting seated and receiving food before us. They did not seem as apologetic as they should and merely offered us an average dessert for our inconvenience. After commenting about our unhappiness, they decided to take the oysters off the bill. I'm unsure if anything like this has happened in the past there, but they were very unequipped to deal with their mistakes and made me feel bad about updating them on the situation. Please learn your lesson and handle things like this a bit better in the future.
Z.
Great environment anytime, but in particular mornings for a great brunch. One of if not the best place for Tua Tua and Diamond clams in the country with an extensive list of cocktails and wine. Make sure to the charcuterie board, hapuka fish sliders, cumen lamb short ribs and also the skirt steak!
S.
The tapas are to die for and are perfect for sharing. We also indulged in a cheeky bottle (or two) of Merlot which was fantastic. The oysters are second to none and the atmosphere and ambiance is just fantastic. Sitting outside with a little blanket over your lap is the perfect setting to enjoy time with my wife.
S.
For the price, this has to be my favourite place to eat in Auckland. The food is amazing (and I don't say that lightly), and the restaurant has a great atmosphere, with a good selection of beers and wine. You may have to join the wait to get a seat, but you won't be disappointed!
A.
Just wanted to write a quick review to congratulate the fantastic bar staff and manager on some customer service done right.
My girlfriend and I stopped at the depot to have a couple of drinks and a bite to eat after doing our Xmas shopping. After a while the waiter came and told us that the food order had been missed and apologised for the delay. My partner asked to speak to the manager who was very friendly and apologetic, and insisted on taking the food off the bill and offered a free desert each (which we graciously declined).
It was nice to have the staff at depot admit a mistake had been made and then did their best to rectify the situation, it made all the difference to our experience and we would happily come back again!
P.
We were lucky that when we arrived a table was free outside. They left our name on the waiting list but when it came up it was somewhat noisy inside so they brought us food outside. Quite pricey restaurant but you are also paying for the location. They were more than happy to change the plates so there were 4 to a plate so we could have one each of the items we chose.
F.
Great place to go pretty much any time of the day. Nice breakfast choices. Great lunch. Excellent and fresh dinner options. You usually can’t go wrong with Depot.
For groups, they don’t take bookings.
K.
Their oysters were definitely fresh, although a bit pricey.
Waited for around an hour for our group to be seated. Reservation is recommended especially during lunch and dinner time.
J.
It is ok. Oyster shot wasn't the best I've had. Pork belly bites was pretty charred. Bone marrow was interesting but taste wise not so great. Seats are not the most comfortable. Bartop eating. It is very crowded and their business is so good!
A.
Excellent food! Our local friends rated this place highly and it is worth the hype! The staff were incredibly helpful, prompt and delightful. Well done!
D.
We went for a small meal here. All staff were friendly and professional. The food could have been slightly better in terms of quality and portion for the price. Wouldn't mind coming back. Cheers !
M.
Incredibly delicious and unique food. The menu is small, but that means they make everything very well. Basically everything is sharable and you get to try many things. Highly recommend.
M.
Best restaurant in Auckland. Come with friends so you can share lots of dishes. It gets really busy so be prepared to wait - it's worth it. Fish sliders are compulsory!
B.
Nice food and awesome drink!
L.
Good vibe and hearty meals. Love the oysters and steak!
J.
One of the best restaurant in Auckland!
S.
Depot is probably my favourite restaurant in Auckland. Well worth a visit. Nice atmosphere and staff, plus exceptional food. Make sure you get a few oysters while you are there.
G.
Delicious food - we ordered the skirt steak and burrata, and very friendly service. The only drawback is ask seats are barstool height and not too comfortable.
M.
Had lunch here on 3/2/16 with my sister. They were very busy but they still managed to seat us immediately - the waiter was excellent with very good knowledge and a friendly manner. The food was all excellent and considering they were full, the service was quick and pricing was very fair. Great experience.
J.
Good food, excellent sugar pie, however the service can be a bit hit and miss at busy times of year and despite going pretty regularly I was a bit put out by having to leave my credit card or license at the counter while we ate. Probably a side effect of the busy tourist season during December/January.
T.
Been multiple times and always good food. Have to recommend the oysters and the bone marrow. Arrive ahead of time as you can't book and waits can be up to 45 minutes but well worth it
A.
Im not bery big on seafood nor eat any raw seafood but my husband absolutely loves this place. Everyone we've taken here loves their raw bar and their Oysters. Theres plenty of other foods to choose from on the menu. Overall experience is great. We go to this place quite often. What tops it for me is the friendly service. Thats why even though i dont eat Oysters we still go back because they are super friendly
G.
It's a bar with great food. Good drinks range with an added bonus of a good Japanese whiskey. The place gets filled up quickly so be early or prepared to wait for a table (and even then you may be out of luck!)
Q.
Food was absolutely terrific. The oysters were delicious and fresh, and the lamb ribs were incredibly flavorful. In such a great location with fairly cheap prices and food that good, this place is fantastic.
R.
We have been here a few times, we find the menu extremely meat heavy, and the dishes are quite fatty. Unfortunately the pork dish we ordered arrived 35 minutes after all of our other dishes.
J.
Nice place for a late arvo snack!
W.
This is a cool place to dine with your friends or to enjoy decent food by yourself.
If you don't have a big group, I'd suggest you to sit at the kitchen bar. You may enjoy the symphony of the cooking when you are eating. The conductor to the kitchen is a guy called Blake, I think.
All food there are prepared with fresh ingredient and all dishes are well managed to have good quality. They are many special dishes you may try there. For me? I'd like the freshly wood oven baked port leg, duck, and bone marrow. If you are a gourmet eater and you have never been there, you should give yourself a treat there, at least once.
B.
Very popular cafe with a cool industrial vibe. Food menu will be a bit too avant garde for some but quality is up there. Renowned for a great bacon and egg breakfast roll and the turbot sliders go down well at lunch.
G.
Absolutely awesome rustic food in a retro environment. Amazing holesome food from around NZ. Including sea food. AL BROWN is an amazing chef who shares this menu in his great cook book biography. Al Brown The Depot.
Must experience this!!
N.
Depot is always a fantastic experience, atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend the hapuka fish sliders, and the skirt steak with onion crisps, iceberg wedge and THE MOST delicious habanero mustard. 10/10
T.
Love this place, food and staff are excellent, but really wish they'd put the tortillas back on then menu. Recommend dishes: tortillas, fish sliders, steak, ceviche, flavoured corn, lamb ribs, pork hock, brocolini
D.
Mint service as always and a small feed of 48 oysters, roasted pork hock, fish sliders, popcorn duck tongue, potato skins, pinot noir and hapi daze.
Good times.
C.
Very busy buzz. Great wine on tap.
K.
Really busy but still able to accomodate me and my 2 guests. Fast service and seriously delicious food. The sliders (port or hapuka) are sensational. Those and a large platter was plenty for the 3 of us.
K.
Lovely, cozy dining place with great beer. Awesome place for a date. You cant book in advance so make a visit earlier and have a game of 21 at casino next door.
N.
I'd say the street corn is one of their best. or try the Pulled or slow cooked pork with apple slaw. It's always pretty busy but I have been lucky enough to get a table without booking on the occasions I've been for lunch or a late dinner.
S.
Another amazing visit to Depot, great food and amazing atmosphere, staffs are very friendly and helpful, but the food is the star, don't miss out the fresh Tua Tua clams, fish sliders, lamb ribs and potato skins. Before you go, order yourself a Sugar Pie.
E.
coffee spare plate all good
B.
If there was a 6th Star I would press it right now. Depot is sensational, and we've been coming here for years. Jump in with the sharing plates and let you Wait staff guide you on what to have. You will not be disappointed.
L.
Honestly loved it. Went in and had no idea what to expect but the staff talked me through it and what they suggested was the perfect amount. I had the turbot and is was beautiful. I would highly recommend. Not the cheapest but defintely worth the price.
H.
Had a coffee here with a work colleague. It was a great trendy place but an overall oily feeling permeated everything. The staff were nice and friendly and the coffee was OK. Not great and not bad. Probably wouldn't go back if I didn't have to.
T.
Great food in laid back ambiance. Why the chef will only cook steak medium rare is beyond me - off putting attitude. But still very good restaurant.
H.
Nice food , loved the lamb and clam. Great customer service. Everyone so busy but they serve you with smile and dedication.
Long waiting time but it's worth it.
M.
Food was amazing friendly staff fabulous to watch chefs at work highly recommend.
K.
Great oysters and mussels! Some of the best squid ink pasta I’ve ever had too! Make sure to book a reservation if you’re on a schedule
P.
Best oyster joint in town, the consistency over the years never fails to amaze me. Also make sure you get a slice of you sugar pie, it's absolute bliss.
M.
In the shadow of the Sky Tower, Depot is a great spot to eat in Auckland CBD.
Friendly servers are happy to explain the daily changing menu. Some of the freshest, simply tastes food we will find.
R.
In A Nutshell:
-Mates, when walking up to Depot it was sooo packed!
-After waiting an hour, we were seated all the back looking into the kitchen.
-Interesting to see how the food was prepared & the high-tension among staff involved.
-The menu has many great choices & I think we covered most of the eye catching items (minus the pork hock, which seemed like a favorite).
-I loved the bone marrow, sucked all the marrow/juice & ate the cartilage.
-They were out of Kahawai fish, but subbed in New Zealand Kingfish belly which was EXCELLENT.
-The NZ Meat Board was also delicious, especially the deep-fried pig's head croquettes.
-The bottle of Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc was the perfect pairing for the NZ clams & oysters.
Overall, I recommend probably not sitting in the back towards the kitchen, took away from the ambience & food a little bc of the tension involved.
R.
If we lived in Auckland we would eat here every week. The food is superb and memorable. The service spot on. Eating outside in Auckland “ground zero”, perfect!
R.
The most entertaining Auckland restaurant to present New Zealand oysters. The variety of local oysters is without parallel. Served with mixed vinegars in an informal and friendly way. Depot is tge epitome of Brown's famed easy style and truly unfussy service. An emblem of Auckland's current food style. You'll always feel uber welcomed. You'll also adore this exceptional venue's cozy informality. I always go early. You will adore Depot. It's a beaut!
c.
Good service and selection of beers!
A.
Never been disappointed at depot. Ordered different dishes to what we'd normally get and everything was delicious. Service was spot on, can't fault them at all.
J.
Did small share plates here as I was not overly hungry but I'm so glad I did... Feeling slightly peckish so this hit the spot well. The food was so meaty and moreish... Ordered the lamb ribs and sliders...
C.
Great place for some food and drink. However, place can be very crowded
M.
Skirt steak, lamb rack and shellfish (oysters, tuatua and clams) are always good here. Place does get busy at times, so recommend that you go early for seats.
J.
Food was Fantastic! The service was excellent! I would rate it 6 Stars
J.
Fantastic!!! Busy but young man serving us was absolutely lovely and attentive. Great food and yummy strong coffee. Highly recommended!!!!
K.
First time and won't be the last. Had a visitor from overseas who enjoyed all the tastes of New Zealand
J.
The food here was tasty, had the oysters! The steak ( did not even ask me how I wanted it cooked, came out med rare just the way I like it!)...it's a must to come.
M.
Love this place! Long wait but highly worth it. Great oysters and probably a good spot to think about for large groups. Try the fish sliders!
C.
This is the best meal we've had in quite a while. The lamb ribs were absolutely incredible. Also,, the potatoe skins, sashimi, and charcuterie was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend
M.
Lovely vibe - stunning Mahurangi oysters, platters delicious fish, lamb and tasty cured meats, duck and rabbit meats. Devine desserts especially the sugar pie and mulled wine tamarillos and ginger loaf and creamy warmed . custard. Great service. Funky retro, a step back in kiwi as vibe. Go Al # the depot maintains.
J.
Have been several times. Service is always fantastic and the food is always great quality and tasty. Bottomless cup of coffee is also a great value. Definitely recommend!
J.
First time to this restaurant on Friday the 13th of March and far out!!!! Superb food and absolutely amazing staff! Would highly rate this for anyone!! The food was just absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for a wonderful night.
A.
A long wait to be served after waiting for the table. Not possible to reserve a table so having waited for 15 minutes and then watching others eating who came in after us was very annoying since our order had not even been taken. A bit chaotic and overly rated compared to other places.
J.
Bland service but excellent food, and we were sat immediately despite a large lunch crowd.
Oysters, sashimi, and the heirloom tomato dish were all excellent.
P.
Always great, food is always good. Not a lot of seating and tables are on the small side, but dont let that stop you. Has a nice atmosphere too.
R.
Very busy but definitely worth waiting to get in and tasting all yummy meals. However, some of their staff were pretty sassy. It was really busy so I reckon they were just exhausted though. It was a bit disappointing.
G.
One of the best restaurants in town, have been here multiple times with numerous people and everyone is always very happy, i love the lamb ribs and pork hock, but everything is amazing!
G.
Food is amazing!! Get the ribs
R.
Great flavours decent price
F.
Quite popular in Auckland. And the food is yummy, reasonable. Fresh oyster and asparagus is a MUST try dish in Depot =]
E.
They don’t take bookings, which can be frustrating but equally charming. The food is exceptional and the service always friendly. I recommend the Turbot Sliders.
E.
Oysters.OYSTERS.oysters. Plus the fish sliders and short ribs. It's all so good, I really don't think you can go wrong. There's normally a bit of a wait, but it's worth it.
C.
Great food for a great price. If you don't mind the wait. We have been here a few times and take anyone from overseas here. Relaxed atmosphere and great service.
K.
One of the highlights in our NZ trip. Really good food, the sweet potato dish is to die for. The pork knuckle is also sublime. Highly recommend it to everyone.
T.
Good things come to those who wait.
I'm glad I waited an hour for tonight's #dinner.
#tiffirecommends the
kiwa oysters (best among those offered @ 5.5ea - no wonder the price),
oyster shooter (served with bloody mary, what sorcery is that!?)
lamb ribs (marinated for 2 days, meat falls off the bone as claimed),
turbot sliders (makes you reevaluate fillet'o'fish)
bone marrow (ok I have a soft spot for them usu.)
Desserts turned out well too.
Definitely an enjoyable session.
P.
Amazing wonderful staff & food, a real treat for country bumpkin from Ashburton. Just lovely 💐👏
P.
I go there often for breakfast and the bacon and egg doona (duna? douna? whatever...) is amazing. Or just get it with bacon. Also had lunch a few times and the food is excellent. Awesome flavour throughout. Can get very busy so don't expect a private conversation at lunch you might be sharing a table with someone.
A.
Having been away from Auckland for 5 years we visited recently and its still as good as ever! One of Auckland's only really great eatery's.
N.
Quality produce and great service but the flavour combinations lack the creativity to qualify for a fourth star given the pricing and the target they're asking to appeal to. Good venue for groups and couples.
V.
Great place. Good food. Was about a hour wait to get a table, but lots of places nearby to go have a drink while waiting. The sashimi was fantastic.
D.
Our favorite meal in Auckland. Tried many dishes, and loved it all. Squid ink pasta, skirt steak, great wines on tap.
K.
Second visit this year, and just as good as the first time. Great, creative menu, great service, great drinks.... Not sure how one could do any better.
C.
Very nice restaurant. Fresh clams must try.
T.
dont be decieved by the fact it belongs to skycity empire... i avoid those establishment that is part of a big chains but in all positive manner i was proven wrong... ambience is superb just what you expect from a trendy oyster bar... clientale mix of tourist locals and business types and dishes are tapas style priced around 15usd max... u cant miss the oysters probably one of freshest i tried at restsutent pretty similar to what you get from ocean, and trust me do fair bit of travelling.
others have commented enough on this my 2 cents its very solo friendly... i travelled alone but i didnt feel "ashamed" to be there alone. matter of fact when i saw at bar stoll both sides were what appeared to be tourist
I.
Great tapas place. All the seafood plates were really good, the pork was exceptional. It's a busy place though, so reserve some time to get a table.
F.
Awesome eatery with delicious food.
M.
The Depot IS New Zealand cuisine. The epitomisation of who we are as a people, and of how we socialise, how we live. Comfortable, homely, unpretentious food in a casual almost bach-like setting, but with flavours worthy of a Michelin star or two. Most of the menu is designed to share, to be eaten with hands, picked at, devoured, indulged in. Haven't been? Go there. Been before? Go again. Depot is home.
A.
Great food, excellent atmosphere for a friends' gathering. Very busy and lively, went on a Wednesday night and still had to wait for an hour for seats, but definitely worth the wait.
P.
Always good and fresh
K.
Absolutely outstanding service. Great atmosphere. Fantastic staff! And the food.... omg don't I wish I had ordered more!!! Incredible! So happy to have found and visit this place!!!
💯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
F.
Oysters were good.
Mostly overcrowded with people inside and people lining outside.
Busy restaurant.
They don’t take bookings so it’s all about luck!
G.
The oyster bar. The cooked food. No, they do not take reservations. Why? Because they don't need to. It's really a bar with great food. It is not fine dining. Tip: go early.
L.
Can you please open a Depot restaurant in Melbourne!! This is hands down one of our favourite places to dine when we’re visiting Auckland, always consistent top knotch service and flavours, we love it!
B.
My God
Fantastic Place
I was down from Aus earlier this year to visit a mate and on the way from the airport we dropped in here for a bite.

J.
Great spot Inna very busy area.
B.
Al Brown does it again! After a week of dining in different Auckland establishments, my favourite of all the places I tried was The Depot.
We arrived on a warm Saturday afternoon to find the place packed to the rafters ~ with something you dont often see in Auckland... a queue. Aucklanders or JAFFA's as WE are so fondly referred to be anyone who lives south of the Bombay hills and north of the Hibiscus coast are renowned for not queueing but going elsewhere. So to see a queue, in Auckland, on a saturday afternoon, where everywhere else nearby is whisper quiet seemed an extraordinary coup for Al and the team.
I have to say that the place looked great. Cool, funky, industrial and retro chic are just a few of the names I could use to describe the look and feel of the place. It oozes charm and looks like its been there for an eternity rather than still being a fairly new kid on the block.
We were greeted at the door by the man himself, Mr Brown, who seemed to know my dining companions so we were promptly ushered to a spot out in the sun on the wooden table that lines the front window. A stroke of luck I think, but being a permanent resident of Sydney now, queues and me go way back and I've been known to queue for over an hour to get something tasty in my belly.
The service was bright, uber friendly and knowledgeable, offering us suggestions for drinks as well as menu starters. A couple of dishes they absolutely insisted we get as they were the house speciality. Im a sucker for a hard sell, se we got the dishes on offer plus many more to satisfy our hunger and imaginations.
The have a raw bar with freshly shucked oysters and tutus, which were briny and super fresh, reminding me of a childhood spent knee deep in the ocean picking pipis and cockles. A NZ meat platter came out with cornchicons and AB's own mustard pickle served with vintage New Zealand silver teaspoons.
All this great food was wrapped up in a fantastic dining experience that I have yet to meet its equivalent in the Auckland CBD. My experience was not saddened by the price either, as I cant tell you what that was, as I didn't pay. This is probably the best way to dine, ever :)
L.
Excellent food and service
P.
had a relative come from overseas to visit and asked me to bring her here, apparently it's so famours on those guiding apps and I think it should be, food and atmosphere was always good only thing is had to wait for an hour to be seated
R.
Amazing fresh oysters, great pork hock and marrow. Good selection of beer, wines and fresh juices (not on the menu). Bookings essential for dinner.
D.
We dropped in for breaky. They have tasty coffee, a small breakfast menu but what's on it is really good and fresh. The staff were friendly and the service quick.
J.
My wife and I love this place great food and service as well as a Manu that always seems to have the right mix of old favourites and new temptations to try the fish sliders are one of our favorite dishes.
T.
Trendy and very popular with Aucklander's. Meals are slightly above average so are the prices. Would i go again probably not too many other choices in Auckland.
C.
Great service and foods options. Right in the heart of town, loads of parking options and just a short walk down to Queen St, the Civic theatre or to have a flutter at the casino.
C.
The depot is an iconic eatery for Auckland. If you can deal with the waiting times to get a seat you won't be disappointed.
T.
Excellent food and good service. On the pricier end of the scale but reflective of the quality of ingredients. Fish sliders a particular highlight!
J.
Very delicious!
H.
The first meal in Auckland, and it is completely outstanding. Tried every type of oysters and clams and they were all amazing!
L.
This place is my all time favourite 😍
y.
Fresh sea food and tasty European continental dishes. They don't take reservation and will normally be busy after 6pm. So wait with patience or go early.
E.
I only had the sides, I'm vegetarian but they were delicious. And the waiter had an amazing amount of knowledge about the dishes.
F.
Beautiful food here at Depot. Very central in Auckland which is a plus. Although I did find the restaurant quite dark and the service wasn't the greatest but still very pleasnt with great food.
R.
Fresh oyster. Nice local beer. Very well cooking steak. Staff is friendly. Nice atmosphere.
E.
I had good foods and wine last night. The staffs was good however they need to put more attention to customers!
A.
The food was exceptional. We sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with the very welcoming and thoughtful staff.
R.
Awesome food fast and friendly service must try the Lamb rack and seafood.
M.
Nice food, small portion. Had 6 oysters, two glasses of wine and one (very)small dish costed me over $90.
N.
Awesome food. Great social environment to hang with friends. Fresh beautiful oysters. A true representative of kiwi food.
M.
My favourite restaurant! I love their food, service and atmosphere! Recommend their oyster, lamb shank, and fish stack.
C.
Everything we are was a top notch. Loved the various oysters and the lamb was one of the best we ever tasted.
D.
Lovely and lively restaurant next to the sky city. The oysters are astonishing and the seafood squid spaghetti is with strong taste.
J.
Awesome food awesome place awesome staff. Make sure you get in early for a table as you cannot book! One of the favourites for Auckland!
A.
Love the desserts. Food was great and service was good though sometimes it did take a while for someone to come serve us.
N.
Good environment.. With. Wide range of dishes.. As oyster.. Lamb neck and caw tongue beef and fish.. Nice place for happy hour
K.
Incredible staff and superb food. Beer and wine selection is brilliant. Not cheap but great atmosphere and very popular
T.
Excellent service, atmosphere and food. Five stars through and through! Priced very well for what you receive! Great value.
J.
Fantastic food at depot tonight. Oysters superb, potato skins to die for, but the menu item you MUST TRY BEFORE YOU DIE? Sugar Pie.
J.
Beautiful food, cool vibes and amazing wait staff made our night out.
T.
Really good experience for something a little different than we are used to. Loved the little beer jugs. Great music too.
B.
Great menu options and was easy to be seated immediately upon arrival. The food was excellent
M.
Love the Doona and a coffee at Depot, I often pop in for breakfast , great way to have a breakie meeting, watch Federal street come to life. Great spot for a meal at night
B.
Best food I’ve eaten in NZ. World class - on par with London, San Fran or Toronto.
You’ve got to have the sliders!
M.
Well worth a stop. Really good food, relaxed atmosphere. Try the lamb ribs and the ham hock. The oysters are pretty good too.
J.
Try the Sugar Pie and for sharing main, the Hapuka Belly. Mmm mmm. Great service, great spot, great food. Small outdoor area which is nice on a sunny afternoon. Go.
M.
Creative New Zealand eatery right next to the Sky City casino/hotel. Specialized in their raw bar, seafood, and lamb.
o.
cosy restaurant with fresh oysters and clams
Z.
Great food... Highly recommend the oysters and clams, lamb ribs are great, fish bun is awesome
