M.Absolutely beautiful experience. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was delightful. Our waitress even taught me how to pronounce my wine with the proper hand gestures. 🤌🏻 I’m coming back to this beautiful spot. Compliments to the chefs ❤️
P.I was supersize that Parnell has such goooooood western food restaurant.
Oyster is amazingly fresh and you must try the grilled cheese oyster.
Garlic bread is the most yummy garlic bread that I ever had in town.
Everything is sweeeeeeeet here!

K.Have been coming here for few years for special occasions as well as weekend dine outs. Never disappointed. Was just here for a Christmas lunch. Staff was nice. Food was good as always.
P.Came to this restaurant by accident, was looking for a Japanese restaurant but ended up here.
It's in one of the small streets in Parnell, the decoration is nice and cosy, they specialized in steak and seafood.
Price wise about $35~$50 per person, just the main course and drink.
I ordered a pepper steak, and it was beautifully done. I will come next time to try something else.
Love the environment and love the layout, very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. Talked to the owner and told me "Di Mare" means the ocean in Italian......should have Google translate it first.

R.Had the best lunch experience of our trip!!! Oysters were juicy and fresh; the rack of lamb was so delicious I was tempted to order another. It was served with a mint sauce that elevated the taste to another level — so good that we used it as a dip for our chips. Then came the desert — home made apple pie and chocolate cake (both served with ice cream) — YUMMY!!! But that’s not all, the owners’ served us complimentary wine port — perfect way to end our meal!!! I wish we had more time in Auckland to have another meal at Di Mare! The food was amazing and service was excellent!!! When I come back to New Zealand, It’ll be on my must-do list!

a.Fantastic meal and lovely service really accommodating. The staff prepared a kid friendly spaghetti and meat for our 3 year old, and food was quick plus delicious!

P.18 of us turned up without a booking but fortunately it was early and they were happy to accommodate us. Lovely friendly welcome and service and my steak was cooked perfectly. Generous extra of free garlic bread for everyone - kind gesture and tasty too. Off the main street in a courtyard setting

I.Been here twice by now, the food was outstanding every time, the owners are also really friendly and attentive. Overall the place is nice and cozy, the meals are simple, but full of flavour and overall have a homemade feel to them, the portions are very generous. I have tried oysters, moussaka, steak picado and lamb shoulder so far and everything was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes from the menu.
L.We went here a few years back and my wife loved the rack of lamb with their special housemade mint sauce, she still mentions it to this day 8). The owners/chef are very welcoming, very approachable and happy to recommend and share knowledge. Love this restaurant, will pop in again next time we are in NZ.
S.Beautifully prepared fish fillet perfectly cooked! Moist and naturally flavorful without a lot of distracting or overpowering spices. Tbone steaks cooked perfectly medium rare, and, same as the fish, not overly spiced. Family style fresh vegetables not overcooked. We loved this place! The owner/chef was so polite, attentive and kind. Shrimp were savory perfection in a heavenly garlic butter sauce. There were 4 of us dining for our first night out in New Zealand and we were so happy we stumbled onto this treasure! Price was not cheap, but the meal was well worth what we paid. Peaceful little outdoor patio set back off the busy, noisy street.
R.Had a special day and decided to acknowledge it in Di Mare. The partner had lamb ribs, which he described as good. I had a glass of some French rose and a vegetarian pasta. This is the second time that I had this dish and it was not what I remembered. The service was quick and efficient.
M.Quaint, charming place with very pleasant service. Steak and lamb chop was overcooked with an explanation that was head scratching. If you're ordering the mixed grill, tell them the temperature you would like your meat cooked otherwise it will be well done. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

C.Our experience here was great. Really felt looked after, especially on Valentine's Day. Food was pretty good, and the wine selection was ok. Parking along Parnell is always a bit tricky, and the place was a bit hard to find without the signs. Overall, a decent running experience.
J.Pleasant place and setting but the steak was overcooked and when the staff came round asking how the meal was and I mentioned it, had quite an abrupt response. Price was what you'd expect but the quality didn't match.
H.My wife and I celebrated ore wedding with family and friends here 10 years ago and the owner and staff were helpful and the food great! We returned for our 10th anniversary today and again the steak and pasta dishes were lovely and well portioned. The courtyard is great and the owners again made it's feel very welcome

C.After deciding to surprise my lady with dinner for working late found this gem after walking up and down Parnell a couple of times,
Di Mare is tucked away ,a great cozy place, In my mind for couples and smaller groups ,a place with nice ambiance ,friendly staff ,with a good simple menu that would suit a few, lamb ,steak ,venison ,seafood.
Prices reflect the portion size and i think is good value and not over priced .
We were not pushed to order which let us enjoy some wine first and some conversation .
I enjoyed the venison and my lovely lady enjoyed scallops the portions were generous and tasty,
A place I would say put your cell phones away enjoy your meal and your company .
We will definitely go back but I would keep this as our special place ,great find ,the outdoor area would be great on a summer night ,
Give it a go I would be surprised if you didn't enjoy your time and meal ,this is my first review and after enjoying it so much thought i would share in the hope that others may get the same enjoyment

A.Delicious food, with generous portions, a lovely setting, and friendly owners. You must try the seafood platter. The kids love the carbonara.
S.Ordered a seafood platter and ended up with seafood pasta which didnt have much flavour, steak which husband ordered was kind of bland too with not much sauce. Waiting time l was long, atmosphere was beautiful and cute little area tucked away from the hustle bustle of Parnell. Host was nice. We didnt get a fork with the seafood pasta as well.

S.This has got to be the best Italian restaurant in Auckland. It's a "hidden" gem! It's down an alleyway and easy to miss but it's a must visit place if you love Italian and a bonus if you like seafood! The hosts are also spectacular and so friendly!
C.Had the fish and chips with salad and shoestring fries for lunch. Large portions of fresh red gurnard fish fillets lightly battered and served with lemon wedges. Salad exceptionally good too. Waitress was brusque but food arrived swiftly so no complaints.
H.Decided to finally dine at Di'Mare after always drooling over the delicious aromas permeating our flat. From the food to the service it was a fantastic dining experience and am so glad to have come across this fantastic little gem!

N.Called in on the off chance I could grab fish n chips before an appointment. They weren't fully open but the lovely Marcia welcomed me in , was super friendly and served the best fish n chips!, and the service was outstanding, can see why they have been around for 20 plus years. Will be back again 👍🏼

M.Great service. Can't be faulted. Nothing was a problem for Marcia and her team. We had a group of 41 for my birthday and I had asked for the $50 fixed price menu for everyone. They added a vegetarian option for a couple of the group which was declared delicious. Others said they would have liked it so maybe it should be added as a normal option. Bringing my own wine for a $5.00 corkage was a bonus.
The only negative comments -" the fish could have been more tasty" and "the linguini was rather ordinary"
The food was copious. They let us use birthday cake as dessert and, in the end, did not even charge us for the 'cakeage' fee. My guests felt they had value for money.
The setting is rather lovely for the inner city and we could bring our own music although the noise of 41 people talking was so high indoors we couldn't really use it. We could have sat outdoors, (the micro-climate in their courtyard is milder than the prevailing climate) and the music would have been easily audible. It would even have been possible to dance. But we had made the decision to sit indoors.
Several of my friends commented that the ambiance made the dinner feel like a large family get together - kind of cliche Italian or French. They loved it.
If I had another family wedding I would surely go there and eat in the courtyard. No stupid venue cost and byo wine. this would be a win win situation.

S.Initial service was only average, I prefer a reasonably prompt drinks order. But do appreciate not being rushed for the remainder. I guess service would best be described as 'non communicative'. OK I guess if that's your thing. The food was OK, good sized portion, and the seafood platter was pretty tasty, but to be fair the pasta was of the boiled packet variety... Likewise the salad, two lettuce leaves a quartered tomato and some grated carrot... I can do that at home. And do it better. And that pretty much summarises DiMare, nice enough, but nothing you couldn't do at home.
Y.Great place with good food. I ordered Chicken Sheesh kebab for around $13.00 and it was fantastic. Chicken is cooked well, fresh salad and chips. I'll be back again. Friendly people too
