Came here after being recommended from my cousin. It was a sunday afternoon when we came. We ended up with takeaway due to how busy this place is. We ordered the congee, fried bread sticks, sweet tofu soup and hot and spicy noodles. The noodles, not sure if they forgot our order or not was the reason why we had to wait for 1 hour for our takeaway... The noodles also turned out to be very small portion so will not recommend. But the bread stick is very good, congee as well. Tofu soup is not bad. Overall, just good food but bad service.

Sensational food experience, but perhaps take your Chinese speaking friend so you get the food you want :) Whoever chef Gao is, he or she needs a restaurant 10 times bigger so more people can enjoy the tatsy food on offer.

Authentic home made food! Highly recommended! We’ve been there a couple of times. They have food from Northern China to Southern China. The price is reasonable. My favourite is Shen Jian Man Tou.

This place has A grade hygiene certificate from Auckland council. However, it looks mess and dirty when random bump into here. Most of tables are not cleaned, staff were busy around taking orders, delivery guys were dropping off stuff at the same time.
It doesn't have hand sanitizer available during covid19 pandemic period. The behind counter looks like war field, people may image how messy was.
Food price is not expensive, average $15 per meal services big portion. Taste is average not good, not bad either, definitely not western style Chinese food that is for sure. There were lots of people having their late lunch over there at the time.
Parking is an issue, visitor may find difficult park their car at close by.
Hopeful, other people may have different or better experience.

Good food with friendly service. The Chinese hamburger and Taiwan braised beef are my favorites.

Quite a variety of dishes from different parts of China.
The stinky tofu was what attracted me to this restaurant. I chose the deep fried one, and was not quite like the ones I've had in Taiwan or Shenyang and Shanghai China. The ones there were all spicy with spring onion, chilli, garlic, and sometimes parsley in a watery savoury sauce with a hint of vinegar, but the one at this café had a gravy like sauce that was sweet. Unfortunately I am not a sweet tooth, so it didn't really work out with me. The tofu itself was quite nice in texture but just a little under the authentic taste as the ones I had before.
I also ordered an Old style jelly tofu which I was too full to eat up, and it cost 50 cents to get a container. Since they offer take out, I wonder if they charge extra for take out? (Typical old Chinese peasant style which would make one feel less satisfied to offer a good rating for this café).
In summary, this café have some dishes rarely seen in NZ, so I will be back to find out more before I fall into conclusion.
