Okay so you find yourself blindly walking and hungry looking for a really good plate of Italian pasta. Well look no further than Gina's. Yes you heard me right Gina's. We had a lovely experience last evening whilst getting dinner. Started with calamari then onto our mains. Wife got pizza, the rest pasta. Amazing. Throw in a side of great garlic bread and you've got yourself a meal. But wait marry those with 2 glasses of red wine (also great) and a Capri sunset and you've got an even better meal. But wait end it with, I challenge you, the best tiramisu you'll find in NZ. Yeah I said it!! Now you've got and excellent meal. So thank you staff and cooks for an amazing evening and meal.

Dinner here last night was amazing. Loved the food, the only dissapointing thing was we could not get the sorbet for dessert. But apart from that the meal was Devine. Amazing value for money, and there was just so much food.

Excellent Italian restaurant. Authentic. Well presented. Querkie shaped glasses and cutlery. Great service. Highly recommend a visit. What a lovely little restaurant. Generally a great experience. Thank you Gina.

Have been to Gina's for 2 staff Christmas parties now and had a blast both times. The staff are lovely, and the food is good. If you visit Gina's, make sure you wear stretchy pants. Trust me.

The BEST seafood pizza ever !!! I ate 2 slices before I remembered to take a photo ! Fresh mussels in half shell, REAL calamari, just enough spice. My colleague had the mushroom one (funghi) stunning ! A must do pizza when you are in town. Added to my favorites 😍😍

Went twice for lunch over two days. The pictures are the Calzone and the seafood risotto. Loved the calzone. Also had the porkbelly not pictured which was a bit of a letdown

I didn't regret to order the pizza on uber eats. Although you got to pay extra for the extra toppings. It was WORTH IT!!!! And by the way, garlic bread comes into pizza box🤔 and it is my first time to see garlic bread like a pizza!!! 😋

Caramelised onions gorgonzola bread was alright for starters, but if you are not a blue cheese, this is not for you. Had the Bodos pizza, which was delicious. For desserts, it was creme brulé & tirimisu - Oh Em Gee! They were gorgeous! Ambiance was very good with chirpy & lively waitress who attended to us.

Yummy food and friendly service. The staff sang happy birthday with is and put a candle in our friends dessert. They even waived the corkage fee for us which was a nice surprise at the end.

I am Italian and have been there a few times during my stays in Auckland. This is one of the best Italian restaurant I have found outside Italy. Pizza is great. Pasta amazing. People are super friendly as we Italians are. I love to go visit them anytime I go back to Auckland.

Haven't been there for a couple of years. Gina's has new owners. Different atmosphere. Tasty salad, pizza dough had a good look but was quite hard to cut. Menu with lots of spelling mistakes, we were told a new one is coming. Not very impressed.

Went for dinner with my Friends to celebrate the victory of Italy in football tournament. Place gave a good feel of celebration, there were other groups to celebrate the win, good service and food was okay. Definitely will give a try again not soon but one day.

My friends enjoyed the pizza and the calamari was great, really nicely seasoned. Loved it, great service from the friendly staff and will definitely be back again, thanks!

It was 8 of us and everyone had lovely and yum food. The service was also very good and the place is nice.

Ordered 4 dishes. Lasagne was good, chorizo pizza was amazing, beef cheeks ragu and chicken ravioli was average. Tiramisu is a must try.

Nice place and awesome costumer service, the waitress that brings the food back on the table, fixed the previous mistake in the order. He inmediatley make me a new salad and without hesitate. He behave really nice and polite.

Got ubereats tonight and the pasta caponata was a delight. Really enjoyed. Had olives in it which the menu didn't show but it made the dish only better. Thanks. Will definitely come back.

Lovely authentic Italian food! On the table we had polenta fries and calamari rings for starters. Next, we had a lasagna (not on the menu, but definitely recommended to request), gnocchi with beef cheeks (specials menu) and the meatball with chorizo pizza (soooo generous with the toppings). Dessert was the tiramisu, a must have!! Thanks for the enjoyable meal !

I thought the food was fairly good I had a Scotch Fillet which was fine.But what I thought was outstanding was the customer service which was quite exceptional.Two young waitresses who attended to us were fun,vibrant and accommodating . Qualities which are sadly lacking in many restaurants The two waitresses were very kind and helpful to a friend who was disabled and went out if their way to be of service

amazing service and the food was so good 👍 and plenty to take home as well hey guys..I know times are tough now with businesses struggling while in level 3 we do our bit in supporting small business but when we got our food the other night we were disappointed...3 meatballs in our spaghetti and and a very dry carbonara .

Fantastic service, fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere and so much cheaper than all the other Italian restaurants around Auckland. And they do quick and easy takeaways. Gina's has changed significantly, it was good before, but now it's great!!

Stopped by for dinner and was able to get a table without booking. It was busy but we didn't have to wait too long to order. Went for the special gnocchi but they were out so went with the veal marsala instead. Started with the aranchini and they were really nice. Crispy and creamy. The veal marsala was alright. I loved the sauce but thought that the crumb over the veal was quite soggy. The garlic bread was also burnt at the bottom. The food wasn't bad though.

Really like this place. A group of us are regular lunch time diners here and we keep on coming back. I particularly like the pizza putanesca which you have to ask for as it's not on the menu

Gina's has been a favourite of mine for ages - I live right across the road. The food is awesome, especially the pizzas & desserts! The staff are also great and often Italian. Lovely place for a group meetup!

The pizza, especially the garlic pizza bread, are delicious. It was very quiet when we went on a Friday evening, hoping this long-lasting establishment makes it through post-covid as I'd love to come back and try a pasta.

Lovely place. Nice location, parking is bit of an issue. Our order was delayed but staff explained us with convincing reason. Food is good, I wish they add few more vegetarian options, or mention in menu to modify the dish for vegetarians. Friendly staff, next time we shall try outside seating.

We liked the place! The food is traditional Italian which was also surprisingly focused on seafood too. As we do not eat seafood this limited our choices but it was great and brought back memories of how it should be. The service was really what it should be and we almost tempted to go back the next day just to feel it all again. Price was ok probably slightly higher than average but with the kids having so much fun around the pizza and pasta we almost forgot about the price!

Made a group booking for my sisters birthday and we all enjoyed our service and wonderful meals. The staff made time to make my sister feel special throughout the night. We will def be back. Thanks

I had my 50th here last week. It was a brilliant night. 46 guests and 5 children all had a great time. Food was lovely. Service fast and friendly. Special dietary needs catered to no problem. Thanks Gina's for making everything a special memory.

Lovely staff. Pizza Capora(?) could have done with being a little lighter on the toppings in the center as it was a little soggy, otherwise great food. The Lemon Sorbet was delicious.

I finally got try try this place, heard lots of good reviews from friends and family. We booked ahead as it was a special occasion. The hardest thing for all of us was choosing what to eat as there were several options worth exploring, and that was only the entrees. We ended up with a selection and shared amongst us. There was even a harder decision for mains, I was constantly changing my mind even with the waiter standing next to me after taking the others orders. We all agreed that both the Entree's and Mains were very good. Not too filling, but overall you left the restaurant with full and content stomachs. The girls quite enjoyed their cocktails too. For us in good ole South of Auckland, it was well worth the trip, I would gladly do it again quite soon, especially on a Saturday night when I hear that the staff put on a little entertainment show. If you enjoy Italian food then this is a must, if you don't then you should try it.............

Love this place. My sister and I used to frequent there when I lived in Auckland. Veronica is a charmer and still there. Good waiter. Very good when the orders got mixed up. A little too much sauce on my tagatelli as it was so rich but hey it is down to your personal taste. It was beautifully cooked. HEY AND THE BEST MOITJOS IN AUCKLAND!!!!! Gotta go there and try the CLASSIC not the MALIBU... YUM YUM YUM!!!

A real favourite of mine. Food is always hot, atmosphere is great and feels Italian with the kitchen staff talking loudly and cheerfully hassling the waitstaff. Always a delightful visit.

Food was truly delightful, service was hysterical but overall fun experience. Waiter was very kind but pretty clueless about the menu, and had to come back to make sure he got our order right (which I appreciated, I could tell he was still learning). They were all out of several wines listed on the menu so we decided on cocktails. They didn't have a bartender so I walked one of the waitstaff how to make a martini lol. Then the food came out & all was completely redeemed for the service imperfections. Really scrumptious sauce on the ravioli. Perfect lemon sorbet <3

Always good for a cosy, warming and tasty italian meal (and experience).

We were in a really cramped space for a hen's night. Some of the food was not great and they were not concerned even though we were bringing huge business. The tiramisu was awesome.

Went above and beyond to cater for our group of 20 for a 20 year anni dinner. Let me have full control of courtyard. Put up decorations etc Super friendly service and food was yum. We had set menu for $40 pp. Entrees were yum and plentiful. I had chicken salad for main but the showstopper was their Tiramusu. Recommend their mocktail Lip Smacker and the Italian Sangria. Will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

Dined with a group of 10 others. The group ordered lemon chicken salad, roast pork belly and prawn fettuccine. All meals were generous portion sizes and tasty. Finished with chocolate tortino , affogato and the tiramisu. All a hit. The staff were fun and personable. Highly recommended

cheap, fast, and delicious... this is my 5th time to Gina"s and they never fail to impress.

I have been there twice. Last time I was there they played at least to songs by Frank Sinatra, so that gives them an extra point! ;) The food was great on this last time. I had been disappointed by the gnocchi served on the the first time, so I had a "Fettuccine Mare e Monti" and it was perfect! On both times the calamari was great. I would definitely go back there.

Great Food-Prompt Service-Payment Difficulties. We went to Gina's on the 7th of April for a birthday party. We have been to Gina's several times and it is a favourite of ours. Everyone had a good night and enjoyed their meals. It was my birthday and I wanted to go somewhere that was familiar. At the end of the night the waitress advised us there was only one bill per table. This became a logistical nightmare and it put a damper on the evening. My friends had to go down the road to the ATM to get cash to pay. I was embarrassed. Also when I arrived home I noticed they had charged me $130 for the two people who didn't turn up. I am happy to pay for friends but not the ones who don't turn up! It was a fun evening, everyone enjoyed themselves but were clearly frustrated at the one bill per table policy.

Lovely atmosphere for dinners for one, two, or a group. Very cosy, quaint, friendly staff, and gorgeous delicious Italian food. Even the dessert is by far one of the nicest i've ever had sharing for two! The staff made our night providing my father a dessert bowl of icecream with a candle for free, out of the blue, on his birthday. Well done ! Great service with a smile .

Different from the thriving kitchen of a couple of years ago. Has it changed hands?

I always enjoy coming to Gina’s but everytime they seem to be out of the polenta chips, which I have been dying to try! This year we have celebrated 4 birthdays at Gina’s as we just love our Italian food. Last time was a little different. Maybe it was because it was an extremely busy night ( about three other parties happening). Orders came wrong- but no biggie, it happens. The waitresses were still friendly and patient even though we could tell they were fairly stressed and had their hands full with a busy restaurant. The annoying thing was that we were charged for items we did not have. And this has happened on previous occasions too, but the previous time it was picked up before we paid the bill. it is one bill per table, so one of us paid and we sorted out the next day, only to discover that we paid for items we did not consume because they had run out. Its a little annoying but Gina’s has refunded which is noble for a restaurant to do without much hassle. I haven’t tried many other Italian restaurants around akl city, but I enjoy Gina’s :) I just suggest making sure to check your tab so you don’t have to come back the next day. I enjoy the food and the atmosphere :)

Loved that Fruto di Mare pizza last night

We've been to Gina's many times. It always was a great and relaxed family event. This time we didn't enjoy it as much as in the past, though. Staff is still very friendly and it's still a bit like visit to Italian friends. But the service level has room for improvement. They forgot to prepare one main dish, so one of our party ate after everybody else had already finished. While mistakes are human the same thing happened for desert as well. And one of the desert was meant for a different table since it had a birthday candle on it. The caprese as appetizer was as good as always. We were lucky because we got the last four of them that day. The lamb roast, one if the specials on the day, was fantastic. The pizza was a bit disappointing. The tomato sauce was not as good as the one you get at Sal's. The fish of the day had a great taste. The presentation lacked passion, though, and looked boring. The barrista needs more practice preparing a cafe latte. If the coffee spills over into the saucer in most cafes you get a replacement. The taste was sub par. My coffee machine creates better results. Perhaps it was changes in the staff. However, we'll probably give them a bit more time to polish their service before we give it another go. In summary: Gina's used to be really good but this time they were somewhat off their game. Hopefully it was a one-off.

Their pasta's are superb, amaaaazing!

It's been around for many years and the food is always awesome

From the three mains and four entrees on the menu (apart from a few antipasti) one of each were not available. We were not told about that in advance so,to the embarrassment of the polite waiter, those were the first two meals we ordered. After he came back to tell us they were not available that night and, not having much choice, we ordered two Scotch fillet steaks, pasta and a pizza. The steaks were soft and tender but small and nowhere near the 250gr. a Scotch fillet should be. They were served with a small amount of pounded parsley with lemon and garlic and that represented their "salsa verde". There were a lot of potatoes and some rocket lettuce with parmesan and nothing else. They did not amount to a restaurant meal. They did not require a chef to cook them. They were something you cook in the back of your garden as a Sunday bbq. My husband had the only other meal available on the menu and that was pasta with Italian sausage, mushrooms and ragu. A very fancy name for what turned out to be a smashed meatball with some mushrooms and nothing much else. Rather tasteless too. We did not order any desserts as ,by this time, we were of an opinion that this place is hugely overrated and simply not worth it. It is one of those places where the waiters are much better than the cooks,

Came here with a small group, I had the Scotch-fillet topped with prawns and mushrooms cream and garlic, with roasted potatoes and salad greens, which was all very yummy! It was a good size and everything was seasoned so well. I was extra hungry though so I should have ordered a starter too but nothing piqued my interest. Also had the Il Cetriolo cocktail which was absolutely delicious and fresh. Staff were great. Was a little bit chilly for winter. Would happily return :)

Great Italian place for a meal. Fresh seafood soup ( Capo's Cacciucco ) is spicy and delicious. Great for winter 😁

Portion sizes were smaller than the last time I was here (about a year ago). Don't know if because they had a Grabone special or just decreased their portion sizes. I had a pasta option that was supposed to be served with cherry tomatoes, but got none on the plate. Neverthless the plate was overall lacking in taste.

Great food and service for my takeaway order

We thought we'd give Gina's another try after being disappointed the last time we went which was a couple of years ago. The atmosphere is the always the same - lots of load banter coming from the kitchen, friendly wait staff and a classic menu. Unfortunately the gnocchi was the same as the last time I had it, stodgy and in need of seasoning. It will probably be another few years before we are back

Since moving our office to Eden Terrace, I've taken a number of clients to Gina's Italian Kitchen. The food is always fresh, tasty and well presented. The pricing is absolutely spot on and I like the way they will prepare traditional Italian meals that are not on the menu. Here's a tip. The bolognese is excellent. My only little gripe is that the till and eftpos are a the rear of the restaurant. It would be great if they moved that up to the front door. Cibo delizioso!
