C.I went here last night with my partner. We had the chicken quesadilla, corn chips & guacamole, wings. I can not recommend this place enough, 5 stars is underselling it. The food was fantastic to say the least, fresh & authentic. The service was incredible, me being a very picky eater they accommodated to each and all of my needs. I will definitely be back here again, might be the best Mexican place i have ever been too!
M.Visited for the first time last night. Great! Would definitely recommend for the food, the value, the drinks (jug of Margarita, anyone?) the atmosphere, but above all, for the awesome friendly service. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and extremely welcoming. Joined the loyalty club and will definitely return. 😊

I.Joses Cantina is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Auckland. They're also doing Turkish, Argentinian, and food from a few other cultures. The staff are amazing and very helpful, and the bar is also pretty damn good!
I recommend the spicy cheese as a starter, and the chicken nachos are always a solid classic for a main. For the drinks I'd recommend the frozen margaritas.
O.Yuuuummmm! If you want legit Mexican look no further. Came here with a group for a birthday. Christina our waitress was lovely and so accommodating! Not a large menu but this means they do the food so well! Paired with Jose's beer, Sangria and margarita jugs we were in heaven. Would be a fab venue to hire out! Meals were so big, next time I'll share so I can eat more churros 😋
A.Great food and drinks. They do offer kids size meals but these are not on their menu so you have to ask. Not the cheapest Mexican we have had but good serving sizes. Would go again!
H.First time eating here was last night and I loved it! Waiting staff were awesome, both on the phone and also onsite. Food was yum, atmosphere was nice and relaxed. I'll definitely be coming back!
J.Being North American, and someone who loves spicy food. This place rocked my world. The most authentic Mexican food I've had in the southern hemisphere. I asked them for their spiciest sauce and boy I was not disappointed. Great for after-work nibbles or a feed with some friends. Just make sure you get a picture wearing one of their sombreros!
A.Overall a very good restaurant. Fitout and mood was spot on. Mains we're well portioned and tasty. A little disappointed by the guacamole as it had frozen chunks and the buffalo wings, which some had a cold center. Priced well and overall a pleasant experience.
P.One has to really appreciate the great service and quality of food here. After my 3rd visit, the team at Jose’ Cantina knew my name. By the 5th, they knew my drink! That’s excellent service with a smile!

A.Great experience with fast friendly service. Quick delivery of bottle of cool water while we studied the menu. Ordered a cold beer and it came with a frozen glass which was what you'd expect from a well trained service team. Food came quickly and was made fresh. I WAS ENJOYING THE HEAT IN THE MEAL AND ORDERED ANOTHER COLD BEER..Only niggles here..the beer came but I didn't get another frozen glass..pity.
M.Service- great. Jugs of Margherita- great. Prices- great. Portions- great. Ambiance- great. Chicken nachos- lovely but a little dry. Vege taco- tasty but very runny and not very Mexican flavors. Definitely still going back tho x

J.Brilliant food - great place for adults. The staff didn't seem to know about kids. No colouring sheets or anything to keep them occupied and we bought chips and salsa to keep them going until the food arrived then had to ordered some more, then a third time to them be asked could they start our main before we finished our starter. Most places know to bring out kids mains with starters. So maybe if you take your kids make a point to tell them not to wait on the mains, food is yummy.

You can select from a small menu where you can't make mistakes, anything you might choose, won't be disappointed. Tad bit pricey but there are hats! Plenty of hats!
T.Good food, nice vibe. Service can be hit and miss as the staff tries very gard but still seem to be learning. I'd go back there anytime to eat however.
K.Jose's is the closest thing to real Mexican you can get in NZ. The margaritas are top notch, his food is amazing, the service is just as good, and the atmosphere is pumping. You feel happiness and warmth when you walk in and you feel full and even happier leaving. I love having something so authentic so close to home Jose knows hes the best and we continue to come back 🌮🌮 edit: for some reason I cant add a picture of our food but be warned, the portion sizes are massive 🤤

staff was nice, but it was overpriced and not super flavorful. The rice is more like fried rice than Mexican rice and the beef doesn't have much flavor. I feel Jose's doesn't fully capture what the Mexican cusuine has to offer, I will likely not be going back here but it was a nice place to try.
