C.I've been here a few times now and each time is a fairly good experience. I had onion rings and they're probably best onion rings I've had, the coffee was pretty good too. Everyone was satisfied with their order and the server was nice. My only gripe would be their timing, onion rings came way before the other food and the drinks came out way before that. Meals should always be brought out within good time of each other.
J.We arrived just in opening and was super impressed with the coffee best mocha I have had in a long time.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and was also really impressed by the presentation and it was delicious.
Only meh thing I had to say about it was the floors could have done with a bit of a clean.
But food and coffee was excellent.
L.Had a wonderful dinner at Kage - we tried the bbq Ribs, beer battered fries, chicken wings and spicy chicken bao buns and all were utterly delicious. The service was great and everything came out super fast - will definitely be back for more!
M.We had the squid rings and kid's chicken tenders. I would say the squid rings were cooked just right, not chewy. The tenders were crispy and inside were not dry. The coffee can be improved, but will be back to try other food items in the menu.
B.Awesome trendy place. Clean and professional service all the time. This was our second dining experience here and have not been disappointed since our first. We come all the way from Manukau just to have breakfast, free WiFi too! You can either choose to eat indoors or outside. Good proportions on all breakfast dishes we've ordered and the bacon they use is splendid as well as the eggs they cook! Highly recommended to locals or if your nearby looking for a place thst serves up a good meal.
K.We've been here a couple of times and the food is fantastic with lots of vegetarian options. The eggplant roti canai and haloumi burgers are both delicious. Good coffee too. We hope more people discover this place as it's much better than some of the busier options in the Brickworks.

A.Went here after a few months. Food not as good as I remember. Ordered cocktail with coconut cream in it. Thought it didn’t taste right should have returned it, Got sick after it🙁
M.My husband and I had dinner last Friday night to celebrate the last day of work for this year by going to KAGE and having the chef's tasting menu. We were amazed by the flavours of the food, professionalism of the staff, and marveled at the ambience and comfy dining atmosphere. Greatly enjoyed our evening and highly recommend this restaurant for those foodies in the area.
r.What a great place, wide choice catering for everyone. Great tasting food, service, cost and atmosphere. Very worthwhile visiting. You need to try this one.
M.It was a delight to have a late breakkie with hubby yesterday at Kage at The Brickworks. We had french toast and eggs benedict. Both meals were absolutely satisfying, beautifully plated and not overwhelming to the palate. The place is very cosy and welcoming. We will surely be coming back😊
b.My Wife and I had lunch here today and were very pleased with our meals and the friendly staff. We started with the grilled halloumi with roast root vegetables and hummus. The halloumi was very tasty and went well with the hummus. I loved the crusted lamb rack with buttered kumara Sautéed greens, peas and rosemary jus that I ordered, I asked for medium lamb and it was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the prawn curry which was new to the menu the prawns were beautifully cooked and it was delicious. We also shared a grilled eggplant salad and it was very delicious also. Will be returning to eat here again in the future. Great experience 👍
S.My daughter ordered a takeout, which she said was quite good. This is her favorite dish at this restaurant, and she enjoyed it very much. She took the leftovers home "to enjoy for another meal."

A.My first visit and I decided to have for breakfast a Mocha and Scrambled eggs on Sourdough.
The coffee was really good and the scrambled eggs was so delicious, it was really fluffy and moist, not dry at all like other places I have tried.
I will absolutely come again to try something different next time.

s.Took mum and the family out for Mother’s Day dinner to Kage in New Lynn and although they were super busy and food took a little longer it was well worth the wait! My regards to the chef and the team for pushing through that dinner service!
I can not wait to go back and have another sriracha chicken burger it was absolutely delicious.
O.It's okay, but not great. Pork belly and flatbreads were lovely, but my boyfriend's chicken bao buns were very underseasoned and overshadowed by the Sriracha that just tasted like tobasco.
As for dessert, the vanilla bean ice cream was awesome, but the cheesecake was 80% base that just tasted like dry, hard biscuit. What little filling there was was drenched in so much topping and ice cream that once I dug through to find the thin layer, it tasted strangely like sour cream. No wonder it was smothered in sauce.
Overall not bad, but not great. Hit and miss. Would come back for the flatbreads, they were insane :)
K.Came here for a Sunday morning breakfast and was pleasantly surprised about how good the place was! The cheese scone was soft melt in the mouth and the fully cooked breakfast was super yumm! Highly recommend :)

T.I ordered burger and chips (would've liked more chips though).We came especially for the fish bowls but we were told they no longer serve them due to council restrictions. Pretty guttered about that but the lovely waitress suggested their cocktail of the day which was delicious! Not sure what it was called but it had coconut Tequila in it! Will be back again to try more food on the menu. Also the waitress was really lovely and friendly.
J.Quite good actually. We used to come here when it was Shakey Isles and was quite surprised it had changed in the duration of our short summer holiday away. The fish bowl drink and the loaded kumara fries is where it's at! If you don't have a good capacity for drinking, I suggest bring a friend or three to help you finish the bowl because you definitely would need it. We had the soft shell crab bao too (it's bao OR bun, not bao bun) and that was alright. Was great to see the lovely American gent still there as he always had with great service

P.Placed an order through menulog this evening and it didn’t confirm so called the restaurant, a young man named Mathew answered and said he couldn’t log in to their menulog account and he would check with the manager as to a solution and call me back. He calmly and efficiently handled my agitation, along with prompt and clear communication; issue was with menulogs system not allowing KAGE to access their new site, complete letdown on the third party web based app but handled incredibly well by both junior staff member and manager; I look forward to having their food and service on another occasion.

J.Friendly staff, glad they changed the music as we were gonna leave originally because by the time we selected our meals we had heard the same 3 creed songs twice 😅😅, very clean and tidy.
Burgers where ok, thought they were a bit overpriced (but didn't realise they were served with fries). The fries are incredible, but being on keto (which is why we chose this as they do lettuce buns) we could only eat 2 or 3, but $1 drink with your main was a pleasant surprise.
I think the carbless option with the burgers would be better served with iceberg lettuce rather than fancy. Its easier to eat and has a beautiful crunch if they are kept fresh, rather than fancy lettuce that wilts fast and becomes soggy and hard to eat. (just a friendly suggestion) 🙂
Didn't get meal checked, kinda ignored after we had ordered which was a bit disappointing as we would have ordered another drink. The place wasn't particularly busy so it was strange not to be checked up on.
All and all not a fantastic experience, but not an unpleasant one either
T.Wow, what an amazing place to go. Food was better than great and the service was friendly and inviting. My only complaint is that I wish I was hungrier so that I could of eaten more. Will definitely be back.

B.We go there to have their Vegan meals. The venue is clean and tidy. Staff are friendly but the service is slow and meals tend to come out cool (not hot). Not worth the money. But they try.
H.We ate delicious chicken wings (spicy Thai flavor) with coleslaw to share. For mains I had a very good beef fillet topped with small prawns with vegetables and for my partner, a rump steak and veggies. That fishbowl to drink was definitely worth the price and mixed very well!!

S.Kage brickwork has some of the best vegetarian menu options I've found in Auckland for brunch, lunch, or dinner. They have good service, and its often busy, but still able to get seating.

One of, if not the best ribs in New Zealand, just pushing out Jimmy Jack's in Paihia.
Cooked to perfection every time and drop off the bone mouth watering. I'd love to review something else here but once you've had the ribs, I can't see why you'd want to eat anything else.
Tuesday is ribs and a beer for $20! Where can you beat that?!?!

T.I have never ever given a 5 before now. But Kage New Lynn just blew me away. Top marks on everything. Food (had garlic/corriander wings and loaded kumera plus a tap tiger pint) and my daughter had a fancy shake plus tenders. Service was very friendly and i most enjoyed the music. Thats deffinately my favorite dinner in the last 10 years (if not ever). Thank you so much Kage NL!!! P.s im a lazy sod too so this review is almost unique for me.

N.First time here. Lovely meal, had the beef burger which also had bacon, cheese lettuce, tomato, red onion etc.
So fresh and tasty, bun so fresh and soft. Chips were amazing also.
Great value for money, unlike me not to be able to finish a meal!

N.This was my first time coming here and honestly I really enjoyed the food and drinks!! The atmosphere of this restaurant is really calming and their aesthetic and set up is really nice!
I drank the passion mango mocktail (yellow one) and it was 9/10. Not too sweet but just the right amount and was super refreshing to drink.
The pink drink was Strawberry Citrus. I would rate this a 7/10.
Next was the spicy chicken wings those were a 10/10 had a great kick of spice but enjoyed them.
Then we have the fried chicken in bao bun. I enjoyed these with all my heart 😍 the chicken was perfectly cooked and great size with 4 on a plate.
Lastly we have the fried prawn in the bao buns. These were also really nice. I think it was coated in the same thing as the fried chicken. Comes with 4 as well. It is super filling too.
Overall its worth the price and is definitely affordable for the amount you get! The food came really fast and this was around lunch time hours 11am-12pm.
I would highly recommend and definitely come back here to try more delicious food off their menu 😍
