Reviews of KK Malaysian Cuisine
D.
Good food. We ordered quite a few dishes for pickup/takeaway for a family gathering and everything was cooked on time. The food was good and they had decet portions. The standouts were their nasi lemak rice - very flavourful, they nailed it and KK Special fried chicken and pork ribs - delicious, would make for good drinking food. The only dish that didn't quite live up to the others was the beef rendang, it still tasted alright but lacked the usual richness and they don't use beef cubes so was a little wierd for me. Personally, I'd take it off the menu and keep working in it in the background. The spice levels were surprisingly low but it'll be to cater for local palettes. You can buy chopped chillies and their sambal which was very good.
P.
Ordered Deep Fried Tofu, Lake Zhi Squid and Sambal Long Beans for dine-in lunch with mum. Had take away leftovers, which were good for two meals. Still one of the best Malaysian restaurants in Auckland.
A.
Fantastic food.
Enjoyed possibly the best Prosperity salad in Auckland to see in the Chinese New Year.
Tonight a large group of foodies enjoyed the hospitality of a friend who oganised a dinner with the owner. The result was a Michelin quality dinner. Stunning.
Q.
Still a great Malaysian restaurant in my opinion. The food is authentic (albeit usually lacking a tad bit of spiciness) and the portions are usually quite generous.
Am a fan of their soup noodle dishes (Seafood Laksa comes to mind).
M.
Ordered Hainanese chicken rice for lunch. Cost $18.60. Very filling & delicious. Busy restaurant, friendly waiter.
B.
Food, selection and portions were divine, and service was awesome. The gentleman knew that we were under time pressure so he arranged for our food to come out quicker. Legend. Highly recommended.
C.
Consistently taste good.
We ordered curry laksa fish noodles, Wan tan hor, beef rendang Nasi lemak, fried mee hon.
A.
This place is not a bad restaurant but as a vegetarian the meal options are extremely limited. I tried the malaysian roti and the veg spring rolls and I was no a fan. The veg spring rolls were very oily and i regret not picking up with a napkin. The taste was very standard for spring rolls, the only thing unique about them is that they are slightly larger in size. The malaysian roti was very fluffy, crumbly and flaky. It practically broke apart as I tried to pick it but the taste was filling. The last thing I had was a few small teacups of jasmine tea which was standard in taste.

Amazing food! Classic Malaysian food in Auckland, can’t recommend enough. Every time we come to Auckland, we come here. The owner is amazing and consistently shows how much he cares about the restaurant. Staff are all friendly and definitely cheap enough. Would recommend!!
T.
DELICIOUS food! The KK Chicken is exceptional-bigger portions of chicken pieces would be nice but it is yummy. Probably close to the best Char kway teow I have had in Auckland.
T.
Not sure how authentic the flavours are, but they do have a very good reputation which precedes them. I personally felt the quality of the food was exceptional but lacked some punch in flavours. We did order "medium spicy" but... Their signature KK Chicken was ok, for a signature dish I found the chicken to be dry and the garnish of flash fried curry leaves was far more delicious than the chicken itself. Butter Prawn was a bit meh and the Mi Goreng was hardly anything to write home about. We were the last order in the kitchen before they closed for the night and I'm not sure how much of a bearing that had on the quality and flavours pushed out. All in all a lacklustre experience not in keeping with other reviewers. Being in the heart of an influential suburb, their prices are reflective. Would I visit again, unlikely.
H.
We often come to this place wi the Zomato Pro. Dishes are slightly above average. Due to the Pro, the cost become competitive. Now with Pro gone I don’t think we will return.
c.
busy all night, fun out of table from 6pm on friday. so we didn't wait a table on first coming. then we came earlier on the second day.
Food r absolutely worth the price, huge portion, authentic taste, friendly staff. steamed chicken is tender and juicy, mee goreng is the classic malay fried noodle, so good.
L.
The food is great here. However, the customer service is average. Also, the ambiance needs improvement. I would proactive recommend for takeaway service.
紐.
One of best Malaysian cuisine everything is so delicious but the only problem is we always need to wait for a little bit time to get the dish especially at dinner time, I recommend that don’t go to this restaurant if you can wait. I like this restaurant so much even after 15 years. VH
V.
I was waiting 30 mins for the food I ordered and the waiter didn’t even know what I’ve ordered when we asked him!!!!Someone came after us was served earlier than me. He didn’t apologize when I finally got my food and kept checking other tables while I was waiting. The thing I finally realized is he doesn’t take any cares to the tables where Asian sit! Please don’t tell me you are busy. That’s not an excuse. My time is precious too!
A.
Started eating before I took photos because I was hungry.
Deep fried Tofu and I had atom Yum soup. Deeeeliightful. Yummy Tastie
I will be back
X.
The first time I tried KK in New Zealand was in Wellington and found their food very delicious and different. I tried it again recently in Auckland, unfortunately they do not have the same menu but it's still amazing. Packed with favour. Highly recommended.
L.
Doubtful their authentic Malaysia
Believe this is a popular for local residents
Services was prompt and friendly
We ordered few traditional dishes but the taste was average
Prices are reasonable
英.
Ordered delivery via kkmalaysia.booknorder.co.nz (great site, quick and easy to navigate + pay) and food arrived right on time. Great flavour, decent portions for the price, would highly recommend! :)
A.
Very nice and authentic Malaysian food serves there. Highly recommended soup vermicelli with ling fish head, really an unforgettably tasty.
Deep fried tofu is another must order item, really crispy and their secret sauce is delucious.
They provide lunch menu, soup vermicelli, deep fried tofu and Malaysian fried gwo tiu, only $38, really good priced.
N.
Delicious with huge portions sizes. What's not to love?
R.
Very good and authentic Malaysian food. The Nasi Lemak was tasty. Hainanese chicken was a huge serving. Jazzy color scheme in burnt tangerine.
E.
Disappointing. Not nearly as good as it was a few years ago. Decent sized portions but SO bland. No flavour or spicy to the mee goreng, chicken satay rubbery with watery sauce.
G.
Ordered takeaway this time. Very yummy.
Will come again and try more dishes in store when have chance. 😊
B.
Nice place for a tasty Malaysian meal. Stopped by to get takeaway and all the tables were already full. Even though they already occupy twice the space they did before they are always full. When you try the food you see why.
Really good food and quite a few options on the menu so plenty to try. Try to book beforehand otherwise try your luck and hope for the best.
D.
Great Malaysian food. Just realised we came here for a few birthday 😉
A.
We've been ordering from this restaurant for years and the food is always excellent. The portion sizes are good while dinning in but seem slighy different with takeaways.
Customer service is good, in particular the waiter.
D.
Looks shady from outside but they hace one of the most authentic and tasty Malaysian cuisines. Also they allow byo - how could it go wrong?!
c.
Very tasty food here. Service was excellent, and quite fast for how busy it usually is.
최.
Today I had late lunch at kk.They surcharged now. So if you chance to visit kk you will prepare more money.
E.
Laksa and Kk chicken taste good..will definitely visit again!!!
R.
Enjoyed the beef rendang, one of their specialties, and it was excellent. We also enjoyed the nasi lemak with a chicken dish. This was a really nice meal, but the service can get slow when it's busy.
m.
Very good food. But the service could improve. Ordered few meals but they came one by one with 10 mins delay for each then one of the meal was not made by chef by mistake so had to take away.
G.
They warned that I was ordering a fish head soup - got it anyways - delicious
J.
dishes are authentic. busy restaurant. tasty however disappointed with the chicken rice and dirty cups (had tissue on it)
A.
Authentic Malaysian food. I'm a regular takeaway customer of this place. Bit pricey but worth it due to the amazing authentic taste and good portion size. Beef rendang is my favorite. Fully recommend to all.. Dine in can be an issue unless booked in as they are always crowded..
C.
Food was great the male server was wonderful helpful suggestions which led to ordering and eating lovely food. If you don't know what to order ask. Will definitely go there again.
J.
Great food, slow service, I guess they were busy.
J.
Because they have varieties of Malaysian sambal style of food.
S.
This place is the epitome of no frills service, but the food is so good you won't care about the wait or the lack of table service! This was my first Malaysian food experience 2 years ago when visiting, came back for a second time today whilst visiting Auckland for a second time and the food is still excellent. They do have a limited number of tables available for reservation - this will help you skip the lines. The food is probably one of the best value for money restaurants in Auckland. Highly recommend.
S.
If you're after authentic Malaysian cuisine look no further. The food was incredible, portion size is huge and oh sooo yum. Definitely not a flash place but the staff is lovely and do their best to get the food out in a timely manner. Would definitely go back!
m.
Being a Malaysian, it totally make me miss more malaysia food. Nice aunty and service.
M.
Authentic Malaysian taste and cuisine. Fairly priced with large portions of main dishes. Crowded because of the popular demand. Friendly waiters to assist you.
E.
Great food and atmosphere. The service exceptional 😊😍
A.
Ordered deep fried tofu, kk eggplant on rice & hainanese chicken rice.
Very happy with the taste. Good work.
C.
Small place, but big in food. Service is great, and each and every dish has its own distinctive flavor. Outstanding kway teow, sambal beans, chicken rendang and KK's special prawns! Yum yum.
N.
I will always come back for the pork ribs and nasi goreng! 😊👍soooo yummy!
K.
Nice little place with good food. Will surely comeback!
K.
Very busy but the waiter took his time to make me feel comfortable and at home. The food tasted great! Just like the little eatery I used to visit in Malaysia.
I ordered a regular portion but still couldn't finish it there was so much.
Great value for money. Great taste. Great service.
I'll definitely be back again sometime soon.
Thank you for the wonderful experience 👍
C.
Amazing dishes and so close to Usana Health Sciences
S.
Food is ok, a nasi lemak cost $18.50 at Epsom area. However, you need to pay additional $1 for takeaway cutlery. If not you need to prepare to eat by hand. Truly Malaysia style.
R.
Good yummy food as always.
Typical (lunch) mains is $24.
Place to come if you want authentic (spicy?) Malaysian street food. Be prepared to wait for a table some/most evenings. This place is popular...
K.
Saw KK Malaysian on Google maps while staying nearby and my wife and I decided to have dinner there. A large selection on the menu and liscenced. Ordered KK pork ribs and Mummy chicken which were both delicious. Rice to accompany and a roti which was a bit small. One beer as well totally $63. Good place for tasty dishes served promptly with friendly and efficient service.
R.
Best Chicken Laksa I have ever had! Even better than some restaurants/stalls in Malaysia! Portion is huge, so I'd recommend you to share it with someone else. I was stuffed and very satisfied! Highly recommend it to everyone!
B.
Authentic Malaysian restaurant that has been around Epsom for years. Massive portions great for groups and dishes are designed to share. Great variety too which you can keep going back for more. Kitchen is a little slower than I'd expect for a hawker style food stall like this but acceptable considering how busy it is and how small the kitchen.
S.
I was here for dinner with a few friends. Staff was very patient and friendly. Good portions and delicious food. Their Sambal Shrimp is a must try. I can’t remember the other dish - noodles with meat and sprouts was a good one too. However, I felt the food was a bit pricy for the ambience! But I would still highly recommend this place for food! :) Cheers
E.
KK is one of the oldest Malaysian restaurant in Auckland, haven't been there for a long time but it is still quite tasty. Reservation is a must as it is very popular for dinner.
The KK special eggplant is very flavourful, highly recommended it. The coffee ribs is quite interesting too, I can draw parallel to the how Mexicans use chocolate in the mole sauce.
On the other hand, the steamed chicken is a bit over done for my liking.
R.
Great food but not as cheap as we'd hoped ... $59 for two dishes and a side and you pay BYO per glass. Also service was average we asked three times to get served and felt like we were imposing on the waitresses. Also went to pay and stood five minutes waiting by till, completely ignored. In their defense, it was busy and food yummy.
j.
Delicious n authentic Malaysian food.
J.
The food was good and the staff friendly. But... We ordered three dishes and a side of rice. One dish showed up but was getting cold by the time the second dish showed up ~20 mins later with the side that was meant to go with the first dish. The last dish never showed up
M.
The food was excellent! "Mummys chicken" especially. People were also good, but did have to be reminded to bring things we had ordered. And the owner really needs to knock through the wall dividing the dining areas, would make heaps more room and make it for easier for people to get in and out (hope you like cosy because it's a tight squeeze in there) ... over all .. loved it 😁

(11/2017)
Quite popular food spot.
Congested seating arrangement. Seating is available outdoor and indoor.
Friendly staff. Table service.
Normally busy during peak hours.
The strong cooking smell may try to test your patience in case you don't like any particular one.
No dedicated parking space. Ample street parking available. There is wheelchair accessible entrance.
Good for quick bite.
D.
Very crowded and I would recommend anyone with a group of more than 4 to make a reservation early. The food is tasty and serving is big. I wouldn't say it's a comfortable place to eat since they are trying to put in as many tables as they could which means there's very limited spacing. Pricing is reasonable and it would be a good place to go to if you've a group of people. It's a BYO restaurant so feel free to bring your own wine as many people does.
H.
KK is a favourite of ours. The food is always consistently good and authentic Malaysian food. There is also good customer service and in particular Mohammed.
If you have Zomato that's a bonus.
Parking in the side street but can be busy at times.
S.
If you have spent time in South East Asia this place is a real treat.
Food is great, decor does the job, portions are excellent. Sometimes there can be a wait but it is a popular place. One of Epsom's great little secrets. Food is authentic for those lovers of fusion South East Asian dishes.
Portions are great for groups, If you are use to similar style restaurants in Singapore or Malaysia I would rank this a 5 by local standards.
I am giving it a 4 star rating only due to the odd time there is a long wait.
K.
Our local Malaysian restaurant. Have been coming to this place since it first opened and we still love coming back every single time. It's always quite busy but no surprises there as the food is always amazing. Quite big portions and very reasonably priced. Staff are always friendly and helpful
M.
Great food and very large portions - which meant my partner and I both had leftovers for the next day. It was very busy so probably best to book a table in advance. Got to sit in the outdoor area which was also nice.
L.
I havent been there for a while but recent visit was really great. Food served fast, staff are very helpful, most important: food was great! Must order takeaway next time as well!
D.
First time trying the food here, portions were generous (not surprising when the meals were $20+ each). Tasty food, but was put off by the ambiance - no heating! so we ordered for takeaway instead.
D.
Food tastes good, Prices ok.
W.
Love KKs.
An institution.
Always consistent, really good food.
Parking can be a pain.
But it's definitely worth it
Highly recommend it
a.
One of the best Malaysian food I've ever had.
The roti bread is a winner. Alongside any dish that you want to order here. They do charge 5% for any credit card uses so make sure to bring cash if you don't want to spend the extra money.
I hear they can get really busy so prepare for long wait times if you are with another friend.
Obviously, dining by yourself gets you seated much faster.
T.
Came here on a work dinner party. Suddenly, electricity went out and we had candles everywhere. A bit dissapointed in that. Thanked God - power came back. It is a small place so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have 10 people or more. Although they have big portions and delicious food but it’s quite pricey. It can be crowded at times as well.
J.
I Cannot reccomend kk Malaysian enough.
Some of Best Asian cuisine I've ever enjoyed in Auckland.
Since discovering this little gem after moving to the area I have visited numerous times with groups of friends and family and never been disappointed.
Service is great, food is reasonably priced and portions are very large.
Highly recommend there signature kk chicken and there mi goreng noodle.
P.
Amazing tasting Malaysian food. Service has improved over the years and is not as bad as some other reviews make it out to be any more. Reservations recommended as there is only approx 12 to 15 tables.
F.
Ambience - very plain. Not something special.
Food - brilliant! The chicken satay was probably the only dish that I didn't feel amazed about. Apart from that, everything was on point. The spring rolls, the chicken curry, the fried tofu (which was topped with this awesome sauce. Couldn't get to the bottom of what sauce it was) and the mi goreng were all delicious.
C.
Wow this place is so good! If your trying to decide to go or not, do it! Such amazing flavours, we ordered are rendang chicken and fried ku way te ow, they were so tasty. Bring a box for takeaway, serving sizes are good too! Despite place being busy, the gentleman whom served us was nice too
H.
Just had dinner; best Mee Goreng in town. Pot of tea x3. Staff are always courteous and help. If you want authentic Malaysian this is the place to go.
W.
My second visit threw me a different perspective as the Wat-tan hor-fun I had for lunch is rather delicious and served in a generous portion.
My third trip was actually to buy takeaway for lunch hoping to capitalize on the Zomato Gold One-for-one offer but unfortunately it doesn't apply ot takeaways. Nevertheless, the food quality is good and delicate packing by separating the noodles from the soup/gravy is spot-on.
Good food plus good service.
M.
It’s an okay Malaysian, I had their ling collar noodle soup.
M.
Serving one of the best curry laksas in Auckland, KK offers authentic Malaysian cuisine with a variety of tasty dishes. Operating from a small premise, this place is hugely popular and can be extremely busy in the weekends. Consequently, you'll need to accept the crowd and close proximity with other patrons. Otherwise, all good! Highly Recommended!
P.
Pretty good Malaysian food. Service was so so. We brought our dog and was greeted with "outside only!" with the menus thrusted at us. A hello would have been nicer. Ordered the laksa and CKT. A bit of a wait for our food to arrive, but I suppose it was because it was very busy.
T.
Love it..... we like to visit once in a while to enjoy the beautifully cooked KK chicken, garlic beans, Singapore noodles and more. Seating outside isn't so bad now that the heaters and shades are installed. Popular place.
D.
Unlocked my Zamato Gold at KK for dinner last night. Service was ok and we ordered 2x dishes: KK Chicken ($24.00) and Curry Chicken ($24.00). Both very yummy and extremely great portion. We couldn't finish the food at the end so had to do a piggy-bag takeaway. The bonus is we got 50% discount and only paid $24.00 ($12.00 each) ...what more can I say?? I was shocked by the value we got. Bravo KK and Zamato Gold!!
真棒!;-)
g.
went in expecting good things but was left a little disapointed. waiter was great, food came out fairly quickly but it did not measure up to other malaysian places ive eaten at.
A.
Nice food, the price is higher than other Malaysian eateries however the portion is also larger. You can order 2 dishes to share between 3 adults.
C.
Make sure you make a reservation or the wait for a table could be long at this popular restaurant. Premises are small and cramped but the food is totally worth it. Plates are large and should be shared between friends. When ordering, a one dish per person ratio is your best bet. Plus leftovers are never a burden ;)
H.
Food is great, it really is… but the wait times and service let them down. Even when they’re not that busy you can wait up to 30min for your food. The service can be pretty bad with staff not that nice and forgetting drinks. But again… the food is great. From now on we’ll just order on the phone and then go and pick it up. Avoid the pain and just enjoy what they do best.
G.
Good food and a reasonable price, service was a bit slow and disorganized. Layout doesn't work well for dine in reception and takeaways in the same place had to wait in a queue before being shown to table (reservation), problem with being busy and popular!
W.
Frenetic staff scurry between two shopfronts (there's no door connecting them, so they exit and enter through the front doors) and the smell of deliciously fragrant food wafts from the kitchen. Cramped, but if you concentrate on the food rather than the surrounds you won't be disappointed. Large meals, delicious and flaky rot bread, and no-nonsense Malaysian cuisine.
h.
Food ingredients are fresh and cooked deliciously. Services very good and fast.
J.
The food is good. The prices seem above average. The long que and the constant chaos in the environment makes it less ideal to have a peaceful meal. There is always someone waiting for you to leave so that they can take over your seat.
V.
I really love this restaurant, their food is super delicious and tasty! Really recommend them for Malaysian restaurant!
R.
Excellent authentic Malaysian food.
As a tourist to New Zealand who lives in Malaysia, I was surprised at just how good and authentic this was. Better than a lot of the Malaysian food at home. Would recommend Bat Kut Teh and/or Rendang for a good cultural experience. Staff was very friendly. Venue was very casual. Portions very large.
Excellent restaurant.
B.
The best curry laksa in town! Possibly the best Malaysian restaurant in Auckland too. Generous portions, spicy curry, reasonable prices (cheaper for lunch). Only downside is that it is a bit noisy depending on the time.
J.
Small Place, but very good food. Sambal Chicken and special Tofu
S.
Great food! Especially recommend the KK special chicken, coconut rice, and garlic kang kong. Having just returned from Singapore/Malaysia, the taste is en pointe and delicious. Large portions makes it worth the price too. Recommended to dine with a group (: craving to come back!
Not 5 stars because they're usually busy and cramped, so the ambience could do with improvement.
I.
Food was overpriced. Flavours OK but I wouldn't rave about it. Decor is dismal. Service was friendly and efficient.
C.
Swift prompt service food was OK but the cooking oil was past due to be replaced.
J.
We ordered takeaways, arrived on time and was yummy as!! Not quite hot enough so maybe look at your packaging?
C.
Food is amazing and yummy! Prices are very good! Fish soup noodle is delicious. Highly recommended if you would like to try Malay local taste!
D.
always busy place , must make an reservation before you go . very nice food. the seating place is little bit of tight. but sometime people more care about the tasty of food rather than the seating confortable.
Z.
Although the decor was not the prettiest, they serve large portions of authentic food, and the food quite tasty. Great service, food cooked promptly + waiters were polite and helpful. Great restaurant all around.
T.
One of the best Malaysian restaurants in Auckland. Super no frills but the food is amazing and pretty cheap too. Expect to wait for a table at peak hours but it's worth the wait. Sambal eggplant highly recommended.
L.
This place was recommended to us by a Malaysian who rated it better than Bunga Raya (which is our favorite Malaysian place). The roti was very good - hot, crispy and delicious. Curry pork was yum, though not fantastic (maybe a bit too relying on salt to accentuate the flavours). The sambal fish was good - nice crispy skin under a ton of sambal sauce and the meat was juicy. But I am spoiled by Bunga Raya's version because of all the extra veggies and fruits that add to the flavours. Overall, I think we'll definitely be going again since it's close by, but it's hard to topple an old favorite for us.
S.
Facilities were average (toilet needs upgrading) as was the decor and utensils. Decent portion size and food was ok. Ordered the Nasi lemak and chicken laksa which were both good.
E.
Been coming here for YEARS and it's one of my favorite eating places.. one waiter /duty manager in particular has ALWAYS been so kind to find a table as soon as he sees us. Because he deserves to be mentioned: "Muhammed Faheem" thank you!!
B.
I got kuey teow noodles. Had good wok flavour but not much else. Not a bad dish but not the best ive had. Decor is old and dated. Staff are friendly. Overall not too bad.
S.
Best malay food in town. Already famous and all locals would agree with me on this. Every dish is excellent.
D.
Food is ok, expected a bit more after all the good reviews. The kk chicken and sambal prawns were my favorites. The Char kway teow was pretty bland. Sizes of the dishes could be more generous.
D.
Food quality great. Dish QUANTITY not so good. Can get bigger amounts for same/less cost at other places. Taste is reasonably authentic to Malaysia.
D.
Busy place, ordered chicken rice. Nothing about the food would make you want to endure the long wait, slow service, cramped seating. I think there are better places these days.
H.
Big plate with nice food,2 dishes are quite enough for 3 serves. Always busy but good service, do remember make a reserve before you go, enjoy the table on roadside is fun during summer time anyway.
C.
Delicious food and friendly service.
J.
Been coming here for 20 years. Auckland's best Malaysian/Chinese eateries. Excellent Rendang, Hor Fun, Laksa & curries. Mummy chicken yummy!
a.
Great food and tasted super yumm.
The resturant is not super big so you might need to book a table if planning for dinner or specially on weekeends. Parking is just before the resturant on left. Not a fine dining kinda place but certainly worth It if you like malaysian food.
G.
Nice food . Price cheap compare another Malaysia Restaurant, busy you have to book table sometime you don't get table. You never regret try this restaurant and I guarantee you can come back again.
Y.
It was very tasty like food cook from Malaysia but it has change since I was there last year.
The Rendang meat does not have the orginal Rendang taste anymore.
Those who don't come from Malaysia or Singapore will not know the difference.
I don't think I will patronize the food there anymore.
Sorry, I have to be frank with my comment
D.
Mi goreng and chicken rice 👍🏻
A.
great food and super cheap if you go in a group! try the KK chicken, it's fantastic. HUGE portions for the laksa as well, so make sure you bring your appetite
C.
Great price, good food, large portions. Very informal/casual. Slight food hall feel to it. Eating in .. table config a little tight but recommended.
V.
Best Malaysian food in central Auckland. Truly authentic and they don't skimp on the chicken and prawns.
C.
We r regular n always found the food awesome, no doubt with that, however we found some pricing is increasing over the top especially for veg dishes only.
k.
Went there last weekend. Food still taste great, my favorite is the curry lakes and nasi lemak. The portion seen a bit smaller that what I thought it used to be few months back.
J.
The best Malaysian restaurant in Auckland in my opinion. Try their Laksa/KK Chicken/Nasi Goreng/Mi Goreng.
P.
Nice Malaysian Wat Darn Hor Fun lunch and tasty Fish Head Soup here today 😋 😋
A.
Amazing food, incredibly large portions ( I normally eat for 2 people and I barely finished my dish)
E.
We love eating there, amazing, authentic Malaysian food. One of our favorite. Always super busy so better to book!
J.
When ever we come across to Auckland from the West Island (AUS) we make sure we get a meal at KK. Consistently good and Fakim looks after us with great service.
T.
Always busy and you can see why. Food looks and taste good. I highly recommend their laksa and char kway teow.
S.
Best Malaysian cuisine in town. Fabulous food but always very crowded and noisy. Can't really have an easy conversation while dining there.
j.
Great food. Very tasty. Loved the true malaysian authenticity. Will be back for sure
s.
great food ever
N.
Good food, well priced, good portions, friendly staff, prompt service. Good for groups or families. Dine in and takeaway. Not a "fancy" restaurant which is why this place is 4 stars.
E.
Very delicious pork menu.
P.
A seriously authentic Malaysian fare on offer. The Char Kway Teow and Beef Rendang are the real wins here. The also do a tasty Teh Tarik. Getting a table on Fridays and weekends is a mission though so be sure to book early.
H.
Food was very nice
R.
The best cheap and cheerful Malay food, extra extra large helpings means there is always some for the next day. Curry Luisa makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
G.
Tasty food always however portions were 15 % smaller than over the years and at $24 for mei goreng its up there.
C.
The food taste authentic, there is a good and polite waiter 👍
d.
Get this as a take out for staff lunches at Greenlane Hospital and not been let down over the years. Fantastic value and great flavours. Try kk special ribs.

J.
Loved the steamed Hianese Chicken. Excellent value for money and correctly cooked.
O.
Food is reasonably good, but it feels really overpriced for what it is. The service was also really slow and disorganised.
D.

L.
We are regulars and love the food , prices, and the service is great. They are always busy but still deliver great flavour.

S.
Very tasty food but extremely expensive. $115 FOR 3 dishes
M.
We have been there three times already, food and service were good, but the place needs a lot of work to cleanliness and proper furniture, because it’s old and very uncomfortable, business looks good at the place but the owner just doesn’t seem to care about the place’s image!!
K.
Nice food but service can be improved more.
Tip - Sambal Chicken and one rice portion with a small side is enough for two people.
g.
Delicious fish with rice noodles.
w.
The quality is worse than before.
S.
Fantastic Malaysian food! Great customer service.
R.
Brilliant food. You have to book to avoid disappointment. Only down side is it can be pretty noisey when full, which is most of the time.
D.
Had terrible service here once. The food was good, but soured by how long it took to get it and the lack of empathy after waiting for over 30 minutes for a takeaway order...
S.
It’s nice but quite pricey if u visit there during weekends or for dinner(they have different menu for dinner and lunch)
J.
Delicious. Not sure about the coffee chicken though. Always busy and best to take friends to get a range of dishes.
S.
Kk fried chicken and Egg please Sambal. Super tasty and enough for a snack to take home
