Generous portions, not expensive ($55> for 2x Bento + Roll - FYI there were 8pcs not 6 as in photo), good taste, fast & nice service.

J.Almost too good to be true! Really lovely friendly staff, affordable prices, central location, good atmosphere, delicious food. You can’t go wrong. Good vegan options (tofu donburi, vege bento box without egg), if you’re vegan just talk to the staff, they’re very helpful and happy to make swaps where they can. Will definitely be returning soon!

M.Absolutely value for hard earned money. We ordered prawn katsu and tempura for side so crispy and clean, not oily at all. Salmon Yaki soba, to share, superbly flavored and noodles are so aldente, my favorite eel teriyaki delicious and Karaage bento box it was huge! Compliments to the chef and attentive staff. Green tea was refreshing.
R.Simply nothing to fault. Good food, presentation, service, cleanliness and vibe at a reasonable price point. Brought water and Miso soup straight to me at the start without me needing to ask. Sashimi was fresh.
N.Have been to Koiya so many times now and it’s always great. Favourite Japanese in Auckland. The food is fast, delicious and really good value. The staff are friendly and atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming. Excellent option for a quick bite or for bringing a group.
H.For some authentic Japanese that makes you reminisce about being in a family kitchen or an Izakaya back in Japan, go here! The price is so reasonable for the quantity and quality of the meals served here! Definite favourite is the curry - with any variation! Karaage chicken is also highly recommended but don’t miss out on their fried gyoza either. Seating is limited as it’s not a huge interior so if you’re trying to go with a large group, book ahead. They also have great selections on their seasonal menus too.
