Food was delicious, staff friendly & the beer selection was great. Funnily enough, the mains were on the small side, while still priced as full mains; but the cheaper tapas were a very generous size. So if you're hungry, go for the tapas. All were delicious though!

This is a nice and intimate place to eat. The food never disappoints and we always end up staying and enjoying ourselves there for hours. The menu is small, but everything is done superbly. My favorite place to go for a girls dinner night.

Every time my wife and I go to St. Heliers, we tempt to stop at LaVista for a drink and beautiful eye fillet at their cozy restaurant. But, ever since lockdown, we have missed their dine-in service. However, with the takeaway options to the rescue, Lavista has been offering small but sufficient items on their menu. Last night we had tasty Crab Arancini and a portion of the Slow-cooked BBQ brisket that lusciously melted in our mouths. Thank you, Lavista, for filling our stomachs and pleasing our hearts with your excellent eats.

Had brunch here yesterday, loved it!! Friendly staff, awesome environment, beautiful view of the beach😎 Ordered Danielle's Aussie breakfast, presentation spot on!! Combination of what was on my plate was amazing and that sourdough bread is to die for. Will definitely be coming back!! Thanks for having us!!👌🤗

Really tasty food with great service. Recommend the tapas, whilst others in our group enjoyed the fish and chips. Bonus of definitely comes with la vista. Look forward to returning again.

Very nice selection of Spanish and Mediterranean dishes. Whole day menu - tapas, entrees, main dishes, desserts. Fully equipped bar with rich selection of cocktails, wines, etc. Cozy relaxing environment. Professional service. Nicely spent family afternoon. Can cross the road for a beach walk after the meal.

I'll be going back to this restaurant for one reason and one reason only...BYO!!! Love a BYO alcohol restaurant and am always on the lookout for one (they seem to be quite sparse these days?). I ordered the chicken parmigiana burger (swapped the shoestring fries for kumara fries) and ordered the arancini. I can't recall how much the corkage was but it doesn't matter to be honest because I got to enjoy my favourite wine with my meal!

Amazing and full of flavour food! Cocktails were brilliant too If you havent tried it, it's a must !

One of my favourite places to go to, always really good food (especially the pasta) and the cocktails here are always made to a really high standard.

Thanks for making us feel so very welcome and valued on Saturday whilst we had brunch with some local St Heliers friends - so glad to be able to support you after all you have been through - we will certainly be back for another delicious meal.

This is my favourite St Heliers restaurant. They can serve you a beer 🍻 while you watch the world go by or seat you for a fantastic dining experience. We've been several times over the years as a couple or as a big group. Always come away thinking how great the atmosphere is and how warm and welcoming the staff are. Edit. Rinse and repeat. It's even better now.

Went twice in a week. I LOVED the crepes, the recipe is fantastic, best crepes in Auckland, I would say better than in French restaurants. The churros were fantastic as well. All mains were very good (we had burger, chicken and omelette). The waitress and owner so nice and really helpful to accomodate special dietary. Will definitely go back often :)

Beautiful meal and wine with the market fish (tuna steak) and duck done to perfection. Such a warm and friendly team. The churros and sticky date pudding were unbelievably delicious!!!!

Went for brunch, such a busy place. Great food and coffee! Quite noisy when it's packed but other than that, overall experience was great!

We are now coming here every Saturday afternoon for a chilled out relaxing vibe and the Tiramisu which in my humble opinion is the best out there.

Monday night, A nice welcome and a glass of pinot noir for $6 (not after 6pm) was awesome. However, we ordered 2 plates of tapas, the pork was well cooked but the lamb kebab was tough and I returned it. To his credit the manager took it off the bill. Didn't wait for dessert and we were pretty disappointed. As I said, it was Monday.

I would give 10 star if I could. The boss was very welcoming, nice n thoughtful. All the staffs are amazing, wonderful service. Very caring. (N pretty 😄) food are GREAT n worth every penny u spend. We ordered la seafood paella n eggplant parmigiana. Both are fantastic. Coffee is good too. Everything is so well presented. Love this place, would definitely come back for more.

A nice variety of breakfast, lunch meals and tapas. Tried the la vista big breakfast and it was indeed huge, you can't not share it. Not too pricey too. And to top it off, you can have your meal with the perfect view of the beach!

Great place to be for brunch. Nice decor - very cozy and stylish. I’ve always enjoyed driving out here on a weekday morning/afternoon. The food and coffee is well worth it; so full of flavour! Great selection of food, beverages and desserts - which are always cooked well and comes in generous portions. Highly recommend ‘My breakfast’, their seafood Paella and tiramisu (should be shared between two!). Staff are always delightful, and have always made me feel looked after. I can spend hours at this cafe at a time, tucked away in a corner seat with my book.

Amazing meals and the best view in town. Can't go wrong. On top of that the he staff are lovely too. It's on the pricey end but you get what you pay for hands down.

Had breakfast there this morning. My husband got the 'My Breakfast', which he did was very nice. I got scrambled eggs and spinach, which were both tasteless, and mushrooms, which tasted very strongly of balsamic vinegar. Coffee and staff were very good, so will go back again, however won't have the eggs!

One of the best pasta I ever had. “Pasta of the day” Seafood. Nice view of the Bay and friendly crew members!

This place is always extremely busy so book if you want to guarantee a table. But even when run off their feet the service is top notch and the food is incredible. I haven't tried their lunch menu but the dinner and breakfast menus are delicious. The most important thing though is coffee, and their coffee is great! Edit: if I could give an extra star I would, they go above and beyond without asking. They did a special birthday dessert for my mum and we only mentioned it was her birthday once.

My Family and I have been to La Vista a few times and have always loved the food and service. The staff are very lovely and attentive, that's one of the reasons we keep going back.

Had my food delivered today as couldn’t visit La Vista due to an injured leg. Really nice little note on the box to say get well soon. Such great friendly staff and owners. Always go the extra mile for customers. St Heliers is lucky to have such a well run restaurant.

Went for dinner, great view and tasty fried chicken, but everything else was a bit of a letdown. The spoons were also quite dirty, with several stains on them. Overall, there are much better places to go to for dinner with a view.

Didn't look up the rating of this place before turning up so was really pleasantly surprised!! Market fish (swordfish) was excellent with such a range of flavours. The waitress was also extremely sweet and attentive.

La Vista is probably my favorite place to eat in Auckland. The atmosphere is nice, the staff are always high quality, the food is absolutely fantastic and for what it is, the price is quite low. The only downside id say is their desert menu being a little too much of the same. Would be good to see more unique options but regardless easily 5 stars!

Great Friendly service and even better coffee and food! In the whole of Auckland there is only about 5 places my mother will go for a coffee and this is one of them! I have also been trying for many years now to try and recreate their delicious mouthwatering scones but am failing terribly. This is also the kind of place you can happily take your children, every time they would give mine yummy marshmallow treats at the end - even if they are little brats haha the icing on the marshmallow ( see what I did there ha! ) is the beautiful ocean view! Highly recommend. Been here many many times and not once have I had a bad experience or coffee 10/10

We went to La Vista this morning as an extended family of 10 and had a great meal. Best breakfast I've have in ages and the coffee was excellent. Highly recommended.

This is my daily place for my coffee fix! Natalia and the team couldn't be friendlier. They know me and always have my takeaway ready for me as soon as I walk in! Try out the new lunch menu as well. Five stars!!

I took my two grandson to La Vista for the 17 year old's birthday lunch. Our first time there and I cannot wait to go again. The food was superb and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. At the end of our lunch they brought a wee dessert treat out and sang Happy Birthday to Ryan which was just so thoughtful and kind. I highly recommend La Vista to anyone who wants to feel welcomed and cherished as a guest and to dine on deliciously cooked food. The curried eggplant was to die for. Thank you to the staff.

Went for the Tuesday tapa deal and had a veggie friend with us who ordered separately on the same table. When we got the bill they had switched out the most expensive meat tapa that was ordered in the tapa deal and put the veggie friends meal in the deal so we were made to pay more money overall. When we questioned it and explained that the veggie friend was going to pay seperately we were told it was impossible to change it to how it should be. Not impressed and felt that they just wanted the extra money. Nice food but annoyed about this situation.

Went there for dinner and was not disappointed... must try the pork ribs and fried chicken for entrees... the pork cheeks are phenomenal and staff is very friendly and professional...plus the views are amazing

Just had a lovely dinner at La Vista sitting outside on a warm summer night. The service was friendly and tbe food was excellent. I recommend this to anyone looking for a pleasant night out in St Heliers.

What a lovely time! The food is always fantastic and the service never fails to impress. Go there with children and they'll be kept happy with colouring and marshmallows on a stick! We go in for dinner every now and then and have never had a thing to complain about. The seaview is great and the Wednesday night live music is always a plus! Staff are always so lovely and you can see the tight bond they all have. Lovely. 10/10

Wow, found this lovely eatery by accident but so glad to have found it. Staff were happy and welcoming, service was great, food was even better. I really like the fact that the menu was much more varied than other cafes. Definitely worth giving them a go.

Been there several times. Yesterday we went with a group of seven people, including our guests from New York, that were in New Zealand on a concert tour. We were all really pleased with the extraordinary service and yummy food. The seafood chowder is the best in Auckland. Thank you guys. I would highly recommend this place. 👍👍👍

Went there for breakfast and had the best breakfast we hav ever had. I had the corn fritters and they came out with bacon and mushrooms. Absolutely amazing presentation. Looked beautiful!! My husband had the My Breakfast and it was absolutely delicious and again great presentation. We are going back next week with relatives from Melbourne for breakfast and I'll b proud to take them to such a great place!!

Maybe that previous reviewer works for a competing restaurant?! We had dinner at La Vista tonight and everything was perfect. Great Tapas (recommend the meatballs), beautiful mains (the lamb rump and all the accompaniments were delicious), and the service was spot on. The place was packed and had a great ambience- we’ll definitely be going back. We were taken there by the Entertainment Book and they had no problems honouring it.

Many locals will already know the experience... An exceptional brunch at La Vista, St Heliers, yesterday for my friend's birthday. There was 4 of us at 12.30 and for my mum and sister- first time there. The Ukrainian? lady owner was away and the staff did a great job of being genuinely hospitable with friendly efficient service topped off with beautiful meals and a little birthday bonus dessert served by a singing waiter!

What a lovely place! We ordered the tapas platter and were so impressed with everything. All the tapas were so generous and absolutely delicious. I didn't try anything I didn't love. The staff is friendly, the price is fair and the view is stunning. I'm so glad I found this place and will definitely come back.

A solid 4 this place was really nice , enjoyed all the food, small issue one piece of fish was slightly over cooked and the pallea did not have a crust on it however both were still really good . The coffee was great and the service was nice and friendly , we will definitely come back for some more Spanish cuisine 🥘

Really good restaurant and they make great cocktails. I got the lamb shanks, they were good but they could be better. Shanks were a little dry, had a bit too much fat content and not enough meat. But I'm comparing them to the ones we get from our butcher and make at home so that's pretty hard to beat. Excellent Wine selection and they offer deals on their meals some nights during the week. Would definitely go back there again

Dined here last night for a Birthday celebration, had fabulous meal, Tapas were great. Enjoyed it very much especially when out of the blue my partner received a birthday dessert with candle from the waitress. Fabulous customer service.

Myself and my wife arrived in Auckland on Christmas day. We went looking for somewhere that might be open on Christmas day. We didn't expect much if anything to be open, and didn't expect great food. Well were we wrong? La Vista was fantastic. We sat on the street, overlooking the bay and enjoyed what we both agreed was the best meal of the trip. We sampled a range of their tapas as well as their paella and it was all fantastic. Service was also excellent, despite the place being busy and not many staff on they did a stellar job. Will defiantly be going back next time we are in Auckland to explore more of their menu!

The place is pleasantly and cozy. It was a amazing gastronomic experience! The staff are friendly and gracious, and the Mediterranean atmosphere provides a delicious lunch time.

We had the standard and seafood tapas platters rounded off with delicious desserts. We couldn't stop talking about the tasty food, and that's coming from people who had been to Spain 😀. Have been to La Vista twice in last 10 days & both experiences were fantastic. Great menu & superb food. Service excellent & Saturday night they had a live musician who was excellent! Saxophone flute & vocals he was wonderful. Can’t wait to go sgsin😃

Really nice caesar salad with prawns.The bacon caesar salad also had tons of bacon in it. Plenty of prawns and very fresh salad. Good coffee too

It is very tasty place. Full house at weekend, booki required. Spanish pork and beef brisket are very nice. Roast Tuna is also great dish. Chicken pasta is huge meal. Services are brilliant. Highly recommended.

A very lovely place with a great view to enjoy a lot of different choices of tasty food / drinks at any given day with the family or with friends. They have high chairs. The staff are facilitating and friendly to keep the little ones happy. It can get really busy for lunch at a sunny day.

I love the place. The owner of the restaurant Natalia - she is an extremely friendly person and knows how to look after the clients. I have been to the restaurant a few times with my friends and business associates : I even invited my lawyer to that place :-) and hosted an event for my clients. The team is very professional and they let you to enjoy the candles and the food, which is great.

Food, service and ambience really fantastic

Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend. My family and I dined at La Vista last Saturday night. 20 of us came from all corners of the globe for our parents wedding anniversary. The ambiance, decor, two talented musicians on spanish guitar, very friendly and helpful staff, perfectly timed, very tasty and well cooked food could not have been any better. Take it from a former restaurateur and very fussy foodie, you are lucky if you have La Vista as your local.

I was here with a mate of mine for some beer. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and had good customer service skills. We didn’t try their food, but would visit again to try some :) Cheers

Very nice food, good atmosphere and friendly service

My house had very old wallpapers that needed change, but we were a little skeptic of hiring just any random contractor for the job. I got the contact of HBS through google searches, as they had excellent reviews. After calling them up, they took care of everything. Quite frankly, I never expected my new wallpapers to look so awesome and decent. I recommend them to everyone.

Have enjoyed both lunch and dinner here. Great food with very good value, pleasant happy service. Will return again soon

I came expecting an OK meal, having been here once for coffee. Instead I got exceptional cuisine! Very impressed. And no I'll not even give The French Cafe five stars. I am terribly picky :)

My partner and I went there on new year's eve with our dog and had a table outside. Good was very nice and fresh. The waitress that looked after us was very friendly and we even gave a tip.

Been here for breakfast on a number of occasions. Friendly, but busy (popular) cafe opposite the beach and bus stops (buses to town). Good food. Recommended.

Just had two of the best eye fillet steaks - ever (Thursday they're on special). Also the wines (we had three different ones) were all really good.

Great service, great views, and the best part, was meeting an old couple, that vist 3 times a week since it opened, and the place was packed out.(full) They just kept coming in. When a business exceeds all the criteria, as an establishment, and supports a local community, and just keeps giving.. Do the right thing I say..????
